Now, these next two are a bit far-fetched (I say "far-fetched" but I do think they parallel each other) but in the haylor fandom, august and labyrinth are both assumed to be songs about haylor.

This part of the song parallels the lyrics to these two songs:

Like in labyrinth, girlie pop is already saying the same thing where in one little thing can make her fall back in love with this man all over again. ALSO, PLANES, them paper airplanes. It's like a haylor staple.

1989 (tv) is beach themed because that’s where “she found herself” at the end of the the ootw video. This is her relishing in the “I found myself in this album, and I own it now” feels and people are missing the point lol

I think the the Satellite Music Video is a partial response to Question…? Here’s the timeline:

October 21st, 2022 - Taylor drops Midnights, and Question…? (with its OOTW sample) is track 7.

October 23rd - Harry starts his residency at the Kia Forum in LA, 15 nights between this date and Nov. 15th (including Harrywe’en) before concluding the NA leg of HSLOT and heading to LATAM.

November 2 - Harry begins to look unwell onstage.

November 4 - Harry has to reschedule a concert due to illness. Moves it to the 6th.

November 5,6,7 - concerts all rescheduled due to Harry’s illness.

Before November 15 - concerts are rescheduled for January 26, 27, and 29, 2023. Harry heads to LATAM.

January 26, 27, 29, 2023 - Harry plays rescheduled shows in LA

January 31 and February 1 - Harry plays 2 newly scheduled concerts in Palm Springs (the second on his 29th birthday).

February 5 - Grammy Awards in LA

The video, which dropped May 3, 2023, starts with footage from a concert at the Forum.

Submission: I wanna talk a bit about Taylor representing herself as two girls over the years. How she represented her ‘duality’.

One to entertain the crowd while the other hides away. One is also shiny and bold while the other is shy and shaken.

The first time was in the You Belong With Me music video. The popular, bold girl that is chasing the boy, while the other shy, shaken girl is hovering behind. Not fully hidden and not fully seen.

In the YBWM MV the two girls were against each other, but after more time, they became a team. The shiny version is protecting the fragile one.

In 1989, we see it again in the OOTW MV. Taylor meets another version of herself after facing, storms, wolves, forests, snow and falling off a cliff and almost drowning. The beauty of the representation is that it collides with the pain of being in a bad relationship. It’s like she blends the pain of having to be two people in front of the public while almost losing your authentic hidden self in the process, with the feeling of losing yourself in a bad relationship, not knowing who you are anymore.

She faces the impossible to hang on to her true self, to not lose the girl she hides from everyone. The girl whom she can’t be. Playing a role could overcome your life to the point of being that fake version of yourself even when you’re alone, almost believing you could be this girl when doors are closed. But she doesn’t want to.

Then in Ready For It, we meet her again. The glass-box girl. The naked girl. The fragile yet authentic one.

The Taylor in the cloak is vicious and bold. She is brave and dark. She is what people see Taylor after 2016. Even Taylor’s “other shiny version” before Reputation kept her softness to a degree, but after 2016 she became a bit more tough. But also this is how Taylor thought she should be in her darkest moments. She should stop being soft.

The one in the glass-box is naked. She is exposed even though she is in the box, the box is transparent. She is visible, yet she isn’t. Being naked equals being vulnerable and this is how she sees herself, her true self. At the end she chooses to beat her “public” self. Which gives me hope that her plan isn’t to hide forever. Also the fact that the cloak Taylor turns out to be a robot when she gets destroyed.

Another two Taylors are present in Delicate. Yet here, Taylor reminds people that she is still the soft, sensitive girl she’s always been. She can’t be the dark, thick-skinned girl she thought she should be in her darkest moments. Which makes me feel like she is more able to embrace the two versions of herself to some extent.

The Delicate MV might be the most important want because the moment Taylor touches the mystical, magical note, she disappears. Which has the same golden halo present in Willow MV and the invisible golden string.

The moment Taylor touches the paper which equals, in my opinion, love, she has to disappear. She can’t be visible cause when she loves she has to hide herself. She has to hide that version of herself.

And while the magic of love and being loved makes her dance her heart out, she ends up being devastated and sad cause at some point, she wants to be seen. She desires living like everybody else. When the sudden rush of love fades, she laments being invisible and alone with her feelings.

When the women in the elevator looks in the mirror, for a second she is so happy that finally someone saw her. But she didn’t. And then she gets sad again.

Also like OOTW, she goes through so many places and stages but THIS TIME to find her love not herself. Which is almost hopeful, that she is already at peace with herself to some extent, she found who she is and is more content with that fact, that at this point, finding her lover is what makes life complete and full.

We see in The Man how Taylor is present in the end of the MV as the director. Directing herself playing a “man”. Which just represents for me Taylor is the mastermind behind her life while she does everything from a “male perspective”. It also is the same thing, two versions of herself.

What also goes with that, is in the Lover MV, there is 7 versions of Taylor, the story of a lifetime, despite being Taylor Swift, the only place she can show her true self is at her house. The 7 versions are the true authentic Taylor. The shiny Taylor isn’t present, simply cause she is home.

In Willow, it isn’t as obvious, it’s in fact a bit different cause when Taylor is locked in the glass-box, it isn’t the shiny Taylor, it is the authentic Taylor that’s why she panics. Which also makes me believe she is blurring the line between both, trying to make them both collide.

And now we come to the the Midnights duality. The Anti-Hero MV.

It’s the first time Taylor patently admits that there is two versions of her. She shows it to the entire world that she is two people. One is her public self and the other is her true self.

But this time the authentic true Taylor is feeling haunted and lonely even in her own house. Which fits the theme of Dear Reader “if you knew where I was walking, to a house not a home, all alone, cause nobody is there”. I believe that this is the time where she locked herself away and decided to hide from everyone around 2016, OR The Great War time.

But also the house could be representative of Taylor’s head and how her brain works. And how this who scene could only be her having a war in her mind, fighting voices from the past and the voice of her own self (shiny Taylor).

In Anti-Hero Taylor isn’t happy either way. Not being her shiny self or her true self. And this is might be a relapse, the darkest moment of her life when her career and success isn’t making up for her hiding. Hiding isn’t being tolerated even when success happens and her career thrives.

Which reminds me of the moment in MA when she says she was at the top of the mountain and said “now what”. Was it all worth it?

The in Bejeweled she does the same thing. She is two versions of herself. The first Taylor cleaning Scott’s shit all those years, locking herself in a cabin, serving others and not herself. Then the shiny Taylor.

This version of the shiny Taylor isn’t as toxic as the one in Anti-Hero which in my opinion means that Taylor in a constant fight with those two versions of herself. In the talent show, she wins through her talent, she gets the castle, but also she swings between the idea that her art is her way of confessing her truth but also it’s a curse cause it’s the reason why she is hiding in the first place.

1989 is the next re-record that might come before this year ends or possible early next year! in the karma music video there are multiple Easter eggs that hint to 1989tv but specifically the last scene….

she brings coffee to her supposed “partner” and the coffee has a design in which the clock strikes 12.

Since the announcement of Midnights, the clock has been a symbol throughout Taylor’s career — the variants of Midnights, the different editions (3am, till dawn, ect.), even the opening visual to the eras tour.

could this possibly be another tease for the clock to be used to announce 1989tv and the possible music video we could be getting??!

in the song “you are in love” she sings “coffee at midnight” and this is obviously the scene at the end of the karma music video!

while the song is loosely based off Jack Antonoff and his then partner Lena Dunham — the song is basically about two people who fall in love and it gushes about the simple and mundane life between the lovers while also acknowledging the moment they fall in love.

now I’m not saying Joe and Taylor are together or dating, but I am saying there is a possibility he could be staring in the “You Are In Love” (Taylor’s Version) Music Video!

1989 is an iconic era in itself and we were gifted with some of the most amazing, memorable, dramatic, and fun music videos (bad blood, ootw, wildest dreams, style, shake it off, blank space, and new romantics)

but what makes “You Are In Love” different is the domesticity of love and how it seems to not be so chaotic. in the song she expresses literally the different moments in which she and her partner fall in love through just living in each others lives in day to day scenarios.

EXAMPLES:

One look, dark room. Meant just for you. Time moved too fast. You play it back

Small talk, he drives. Coffee at midnight

Morning, his place. Burnt toast, Sunday. You keep his shirt. He keeps his word

You two are dancing in a snow globe, 'round and 'round

in the final scene of the karma music video we see that everything fades into the cup of coffee and ends up being served to her lover. this is symbolism in which I think means that her past with other partners seems to just fade away now that’s she’s with him because… SHES IN LOVE! HES IN LOVE! THEY ARE IN LOVE!

to receive a music video for this song specifically would mean so much to the 1989 era considering the fact that during this time Taylor was under scrutiny for her love life. we saw that depicted in blank space, a satire song she wrote based off what tabloids thought of her and her love life.

“You Are In Love” clearly talks about the softness in which her and her partner have in private. That while they may fight and argue, they talk it out nonetheless and make it work for them.

the whole point of “you are in love” is to express the highs and lows of a relationship outside of the opinions of everyone else, specifically the media.

in the lines above, it clearly has parallels to other Taylor songs in which she talks about fame and how it constantly follows her wherever she goes — an issue she has wanted to avoid when it comes to her love life. but in these lines it talks about when her and her partner are alone — just them by themselves together. they are in love and they can feel it even when no one is watching.

and where is no one watching?

in this scene where she brings him the coffee!!!! this is the dark room meant just for them! their shoulder brush as she sits down beside him! this is either his place or hers — THEIRS!

This was just a GLIMPSE of domesticity when it come to romantic love — but I’m assuming when we ✨hopefully ✨ get the mv we will see more of it! see the two of them just spending time together in a home, like in Lover mv!!!!

we all know Taylor worked with Sadie for the atw 10 min version short film! in her actors on actors interview she discusses writing past Taylor in the film with Sadie in mind Bcs she saw her in stranger things and realized she wasn’t a romantic lead and would be perfect for the role! Joe Keery hasn’t stared as a romantic lead in any movies / tv shows. in stranger things he only played Nancy’s love interest for 1 season before becoming the beloved babysitter we all know today. In Free Guy, while his character does crush on Jodie Comer, he isn’t necessarily the “romantic lead,” that part belongs to Ryan Reynolds. Then in Spree he plays a fucking murderer so yeah….

I’m thinking that Taylor really loved Joe’s performance in ST and possibly saw his other projects and wanted to see him in a larger role (romance wise). I personally think he would be perfect as a character in the “you are in love” music video or possibly short film!

Steve Harrington had a redemption arc but I don’t think we’ll be seeing him GRT back together w/ nance in s5 + the ending of Free Guy is left open so we really don’t know if his character and Jodie Comer’s stay together.

I don’t know about the new zealand trip, but I do know that taylor put dianna on the OOTW video and also did some crazy stunt with the Babe music video paralleling the sam smith video dianna was in, and all this while being with karlie. So it’s safe to assume that most of this time, Dianna was still on Taylor’s mind somehow. Which, I must admit, I always found a bit strange. Like probably Karlie was, at first, a rebound post dianna.

I think one of the things Taylor appreciated about Karlie from the start is that she was always mature enough to recognize Taylor uses art to process emotions, both old and new. And she encouraged it for Taylor’s creative process, rather than tried to stifle it for selfish reasons.

It’s also normal to have feelings about past relationships that flow into new ones. My ex did a number on me. I hope to find someone one day who is understanding of that and patient with me.

I wouldn’t say Karlie was ever a “rebound.” I think she was moreso a pleasant and unexpected surprise who turned out to be the love of Taylor’s life.
