-he enjoys solving Rubix cubes and other puzzles

-Barley doesn't like people touching his face unless it's family/people he's close with

-he's a dumb kind of drunk where he doesn't think rationally abt things and jumps into everything lol

-in school he was a mix of a jock n a nerd

Barley Lightfoot with a tiefling s/o

A/n: most of my tiefling knowledge comes from dnd so I’m basing this off that lore

First of all Barley thinks you are absolutely incredible, magical even. Everything from your beautiful horns to your long tail that wags when you’re happy he’s just so enamored but you

He’s mostly in love with your eyes, finding them to be similar to the ancient dragons of the realm, which fits with the arcane ability all tieflings have which was fire resistance and an ability to breathe and control it

You two play quests of yore religiously, and he always listens to you dump about tiefling culture and traditions to make his game more historically accurate that and he loves how your eyes (which are usually slits) go all wide and sparkily

Your natural heat makes you a great cuddle buddy, especially in winter when you get a ring of fur around your neck, it’s so soft and nice to cuddle into but a pain to take care of

You also use your tail to pull him into cuddle mode, or just whenever you want to be near him, of course he also pulls you (gently) by the tail to do the same.

Cuddling can be hard depending on horn shape and size but you two always find a way to make it work. Wether it be he snuggled into your tummy or you keep your horns on the shorter side

However he is always there to help you with self care, wether it be to help sharpen your horns or to help get the hard to reach areas when you have to shave your ring of fur for the summer months

Over all he loves you and defends your honor fiercely, no one is allowed to call you a devil or demon on his watch and anyone who mocks you for your horns and cloven hooves (if your lineage is more close to demons) need to be wary or else he will challenge them to a foam sword battle in the parking lot and win

I debated whether or not to post this but I figured “what the heck..” So here ya go!

I tried to find a cute ship name to call them so I ended up with Varley! I really like how it looks! Especially Barley’s end 😌.

I originally wanted to do the onward style but I decided to draw Barley and Vasilisa in my style So it would be easier for me LMAOO! But I am gonna try to add the onward style somewhat in my drawings. I will say.. this did take me practically the whole day (11 hours at that) and boy was I exhausted 😅.

But overall it was all worth it towards the end! 😁

Lightfoot Brothers Crying Appreciation Post

Fair warning: this is a sad elf boi zone! 🥹 😢 😭

All the times (I think?) Ian and Barley teared up or got close to tearing up ⤵️

One of my favorite parts about Onward is the fact that both the boys CRY

If you never got this memo before in your life, here it is right now: IT IS PERFECTLY ALRIGHT TO CRY!

seeing Ian and Barley tear up on screen made me, well, happy cry I should say lol...because really, crying means you're feeling something and every person in every universe is valid to have feelings!

so I'm grateful that Pixar makes sure that not only we, the audience, cry and have feelings, but to also have their characters cry and have feelings too

once again: representation matters 😉

Notice how this all takes place in the second half of the film, on the second day of their quest, and that Ian tears up a little more calmly/quietly than Barley does...I never really noticed that before but that's so interesting! And it totally fits their characters to a T!

it's little things like this that just make me love the movie even more with every rewatch and every detail scout! 😄

Alright...I can't believe I suddenly posted some stuff. But I am still very scared of the internet so I am going to hide for probably the rest of the year. I am still working on my fan comic "Forbidden". It's taking so long! I think I wanna just make a bunch of stuff and post, hide, repeat to try and avoid the nasty trolls out there.

I miss sharing my art but I do want to still protect myself.
