fae!steve who, practically the moment he learns what he can do, sets up a trap curse for his parents. if they ever kick him out and disown him, then the second he exits their threshold he'll take all their luck with him. he'd feel bad about cursing his parents, but the point of a trap curse is that it doesn't activate unless the targets of the curse do something to meet its requirements. if his parents were just good people, good parents, then nothing bad will ever happen to them.
but they really can't seem to help themselves. steve guesses he saw this coming.
he tells eddie about it, when eddie comes to pick him and his one allowed box of clothes and shit from the harrington house. eddie'd offered to curse them, 'might as well make good on my whole evil satanist reputation', but steve told him he already had it covered. told him about the trap. he's never seen eddie look so proud and so sad at the same time.
and sure enough, all good luck leaves the harrington household when steve does. a random irs check reveals harrington sr's years of tax fraud, and his business goes bankrupt trying to pay the fines. someone leaks pictures of one of mrs harringtons senior aides on a drug filled bender in the city, ruining both her campaigns squeaky clean image and her chances at reelection in the fall. several of mr harringtons former secretaries sue for sexual harassment, while seemingly every other woman he's ever come in contact with simultaneously sues for child support.
and steve just watches. he's happy now, living with eddie in a small apartment with their cat and the various small woodland creatures eddie keeps trying to sneak in (so far steve's had to kick out three raccoons, a possum, a skunk, two bats, and a coyote. they've all been very understanding when he's explained the situation to them but eddie still acts like a kicked puppy every time he does it). eddie keeps a little shoebox under their bed with newspaper clippings of every terrible thing to befall the mighty harringtons, says it's in case steve ever wants the reminder that he got one over on them in the end. a reminder that steve's happy and they're not.
steve doesn't need it. he feels it, every time the curse does something to them, something clicking in his chest like one of those alarm clocks with the flaps that flip over from one minute to the next. he wonders if it'll ever feel like too much. if he'll ever think they've been punished enough. they've had a rough couple years, it's sort of only a matter of time before something happens that's unlucky enough to injure or kill them.
steve thinks if he was human, maybe he'd care. maybe he'd look at that shoebox with the guilt eddie seems to be half-expecting every time he brings it out. but he's not, so he doesn't. he set the trap, but his 'parents' are the ones who sprung it.
they really should have known better than to cross a changeling.

I read this fanfiction where Molly was given the journal as a gift to preserve her memories but being ten she didn't see the point and found it hard.
Which leads to a grieving Edie writing that journal entry in Molly's journal.
Something that was based on 'Molly' saying 'I ate a lot of things that night' not 'tonight'.
I wanna reiterate that Edie did this out of grief like barely a year after Molly's death, not for some evil ulterior motive.
So I was wondering what you thought of this theory?
I feel like this tracks for Edie, and I firmly believe that very few discrepancies in this game can be written on as a writing mistake (despite there being some timeline issues such as, where were Sam and Calvin during Barbara's Final Scream, and allegedly I've read rumblings off Walter's death timeline being weird, but I can't quite find any certainties on that.).
Here is the thing, Molly's a pretty imaginative girl (as a fellow fantasy enjoyer.. I can relate), and based off the cute little drawings around her room and her love for her animals and nature I think there is space to say
I find it interesting that all the animals that Molly had become can be found in her room in some form. I know many people see this as Molly taking from her environment during a hallucination. I was led to believe this as well until now... I can totally see Edie, who probably at this point wanted to believe this wouldn't happen, wanting to 'honour' her firstborn by giving her final moments something that she would've loved. A fantastical tale where she gets to run wild as the animals found in her room. Who knows if Molly even wanted to be any of those things, it feels like a classic mom move to take like three things she knows her kid likes and just use those, similarly to how Gus is kind of just reduced to Kite Boy when he seemed to have his entire punk deal going on.
All this to say, yeah I think it's pretty neat, and I think it really adds onto the idea that Edie is doing this to preserve their legacy, especially if we go off of the idea that in her head, the curse is very real. I'd hate to feel like my family was insignificant just because of how little time they had...
I like to think that's a similar conclusion that Edith finds herself.
'I want you to be amazed that any of us ever had a chance to be here at all.'

Another little bg3 scene idea:
When they get to the shadow cursed lands, Astarion nervously remarks that it feels like they're being hunted, and he doesn't enjoy not being the one doing the stalking. Ronan offers him his arm silently, clearly for Astarion to take to keep him close if he wanted.
It gets batted away, Astarion stating he's doesnt need to be led around like a frightened animal. Ronan shrugs, offers it to Gale instead who takes his arm as he informs them of the Shar-influenced origin of this curse. Even with the holy light streaming from the mace in Ronan's hand, torches still need to be lit, the darkness oppressive and impenetrable to even elven eyes.
After aiding the Harpers and getting directions to the inn, Ronan is examining the cursed man they put down. Squats down, touches his face, opens his mouth, pulls back an eyelid. A strange affliction, one he's never seen; is there anyway to stop it if it happens to one of his own?
As he straightens, there's a touch to his elbow, Astarion sliding up next to him and telling him in that fawning affectation that he shouldn't be touching that, what if it spreads that way 'darling'? That gets Ronan's attention, looking over the vampire looping an arm around his like they mean take a jaunt through a garden.
"Where's your torch?"
Astarion gestures vaguely behind them, saying he dropped it, of course, you can't expect him to do much holding one. Besides, he doesn't really need it, does he? The light coming off the mace is enough for the both of them.
Ronan asks if he is to lead him then and Astarion scoffs. No, it's more like Ronan is holding the light and Astarion is...keeping a lookout. There could be anything out there; wouldn't it be better if they were at the ready for it instead of having him juggling a torch?
He's squeezing Ronan's arm, eyes darting to the cursed body at their feet as he makes his case. Ronan hums, doesn't bother to argue, just tells them all its time to move out. Astarion doesn't let go of him until they've made it to the bridge leading to Last Light Inn and Ronan is more than fine with that.
