Ed, Edd n Eddy were one of my favorite cartoons growing up and I decided to go back to some fan ideas I had in mind, some of which were fan characters. These here are the Kanker sister's mother and brother. I imagined that their mother's the tired but loving type and a part of her does want to get back to simpler times, and she's still a bit of a romantic at heart (the book she's holding is a romance pocketbook). Her attempts to heal her inner child can lead to her being neglectful at times but she does truly care for her kids. Bobby meanwhile, was another surprise baby, having been born sometime after the Big Picture Show. His father is a coworker of Sherry's who immediately skipped town when he learned she was pregnant. The Kanker sisters were surprised when they learned they were having yet another sibling and were initially displeased (especially Lee), but Bobby's really sunny disposition (smiling even as a baby) made them switch opinions quick. Bobby's a really sweet boy and considered a ray of sunshine by his mother and sisters. He's rather naively optimistic and often wanders on his own.

You can find Bobby at Gary’s Galley in Rivet City. His character stands out among all the metal and dull colors; Bobby is wearing a heavily modified Vault 101 suit, a red cap and strapped to his back is Betsie, his plasma rifle

>> how do you recruit them?

Starting a conversation with him will make him introduce himself to you and tell you a little about his past in Vault 101. Bobby will also ask you about the current in-game situation of the Capital Wasteland, and if you give him good karma answers, you will be able to try passing a 50 speech check to ask him to travel with you.

Bobby will join you as a companion if you have good karma.

Bobby will hack terminals of any level if asked to.

“You should hold on to this… You never know when you’re gonna need a stimpak.”

If you start a conversation with Bobby from time to time, he will give you a stimpak.

Bobby doesn’t have a personal quest. However, he will give you misc quests to take down bad guys around the Wasteland. Complete enough quests for him and he will award you a perk, as long as you have him next to you.

No.

It’s Plasma, Baby! - You do 10% more damage and your critical chance increases while using plasma weapons.

The wooden soldier toy and how it travelled from Washington D.C. to Boston, thanks to MacCready's lies.

I've mentioned before how I think MacCready lied about his son's disease (and having a son, for that matter), and in my timeline, it affects two of my ocs' stories.

Firstly, the wooden soldier toy is Bobby's. It's a little toy he's had since he was a kid, probably gifted by one of the vault residents for one of his birthdays. And it's one of the things he carries with him outside, along with his red dad hat.

A couple of months into living in the Wasteland, he comes across Little Lamplight, and helps the kids with a couple of tasks that involve going out into dangerous zones (one of them being the rescue quest in-game). After some time, Bobby gives MacCready (then a child and mayor of Little Lamplight) his wooden soldier toy, and tells the boy it'll be better use for him than for Bobby, for he's a grown up now and has been hardened by the reality of the world.

MacCready grows up, decides to leave D.C. and carries with him the toy.

A lot of time passes and he meets with Helena. He already knows about the MedTek job the Gunners are on, and when he meets Helena, he hides that information to her. She's still not sure, for the MedTek building is in a dangerous part of the ruins, so close to raiders, but he convinces her with his last resort: lying about having a son, Duncan (a name he stole from one of the children that lived in Little Lamplight back in the days), a child so sick he believed the only way to save him would be with this medicine stored in the facility.

As I've mentioned before, Helena connects the dots way faster than he thought. She notices he doesn't talk about the kid as much as she'd expect form a parent, and sometimes he contradicts himself with the information he gives away. When they enter the building and it is that mess we see in game, she realizes he's lied to her all the way to that point. She confronts him and he brushes it off, because neither expected to find that many Gunner soldiers inside.

As a way to apologize to her when they're out of harm's way, MacCready gives her the wooden soldier toy and says Lucy, his deceased wife, gave it to him. Helena asks him if that's really true, because his lies have nearly cost their lives. He lies, once again, telling her that's the only part of the story that was really true.

If only she knew a 19-year-old vault dweller gifted MacCready that piece of wood.

bits of lore from when Bobby stayed with the Bos:

Bobby hated every second of it.

He had heard about the bos during his walking around D.C. and even bumped into some patrols. The moment they emerge from the sewers and Dr. Li takes the group to the Citadel, he knows he's gonna hate it.

Although he's rather harsh with everyone, Elder Lyons seems to have a lot of patience towards him. The same can't be said about Sarah, who's vocal about her distaste in seeing Bobby around.

When he sees Liberty Prime for the first time, he calls it 'tin man'. Everyone nearly jumps on his throat. Lyons invites him to leave.

At some point he's going to crash there (because Rivet City is too far) and he takes Charon with him. Some soldiers give him a hard time right when they pass through the gates, telling him he won't enter with a ghoul, and they get into a fist fight. Bobby and Charon have to find somewhere else to sleep.

Scribe Rothchild asks him why doesn't he just go back home if he hates the brotherhood so much (it isn't asked in a rude tone; he sees how tired and bothered Bobby is to be in the same room as them), and Bobby simply asks "there's no home to go back to - my dad was it and now he's gone. I'll finish what he started".

He's given power armor training but it's awful, he can barely move in it.
