OC PRIDE CHALLENGE

Day 8: Week Two - Prompts - Pride

Vivian sipped on their milkshake at Pop's. They had only been in Riverdale for two weeks but already, they had had a crush on one of the locals - Lois Lambert.

Viv stared longingly at the other girl as she walked Diner with some of her friends, laughing about something. Vivian wished they could be part of the conversation. Friends didn't come easily to them. In fact, people were more likely to rip into them.

Being a lesbian was one thing, but identifying as non-binary to boot made them stick out. Not everyone cared to use the right pronouns for Vivian and their dad didn't care enough to intervene. They missed Lucia in Seattle. She was happy helping her family and Vivian loved that for her. But they missed spending time with Lucia at the Firehouse.

They were so engrossed staring at Lois, they didn't notice someone sitting down in front of them. When Vivian finally noticed she jumped slightly.

"Oh, sorry, I didn't notice you sitting down. I'm Vivian, nice to meet you!"

"Warren Carlson," the boy introduced himself. He extended his hands. Vivian shook it. "I noticed you staring at my sister."

Vivian's heart began to race. This was already going downhill. They began to fidget with their hands. "Uhm..."

Warren waved her off. "No worries, I won't snitch. I just wanted to help you out a bit. You're new, right?"

"Uhm, kinda. I'm visiting Lucia Diaz. I don't know if you've met her. Her sister Bee works here."

"Bee Ortiz? I know her. I think I met Lucia before too. How do you know her, if I may ask?"

Vivian nodded. "You may! She was dating my dad for a couple of years there. They broke up but she's like the mom I never had, so she's not getting rid of me anytime soon!"

Warren laughed. "Nice! The Lamberts took me and my brother in recently and I can assure you, Lois is great...most of the time."

Vivian raised their brow.

Warren waved his hand once more. "She's fine, just a little bit prissy. Her friends are helping her past that though. She's awesome, I swear."

Vivian nodded, the corner of their mouth raising as they began to smile once again. "Good to know."

"You seem nervous."

"Oh please, I'm a non-binary lesbian who manages to outrun Denise every day."

Warren narrowed his eyes. "Who's Denise?"

Vivian waved their hand. "Doesn't matter. Anyways, I'm proud of who I am. But I have a hard time approaching people sometimes. I don't like setting myself up for disappointment."

"Trust me. Lois won't disappoint you. I can subtly drop a hint. Maybe make her look your way if you want."

Vivian bit their lip, pondering on it for a couple of seconds. Normally they didn't like taking hand outs and they sure didn't need help with talking. But Warren knew Lois and he would know who she likes. If he's willing to set help them out, he must think it will work out.

They nodded. "Do it," they said. Warren got up from his seat, turning to walk over to his sister. Vivian grabbed his hand. "But don't tell her I sent you."

Warren turned back and winked at them before walking off.

Vivian smiled somewhat akwardly and looked at their phone to seem busy. They looked up after a couple of seconds to see Warren leaning down on Lois' table. She looked up and smiled Vivian. Viv smiled back.

Character Description/Background: Warren was born and raised alongside his older sister and younger brother in Centerville. His mother was less-than-present and often left him and his siblings to fend for themselves. When he was eleven years old, his mom took he and Raven and moved them to Seattle. His brother was gone and anytime Warren asked for him, his mother threatened to get rid of him too. Eventually, he stopped asking and resigned to his fate. He never forgot about Jupiter though, always wondered where he went and what happened to him. For six years he lived together with his sister in poverty in a run-down apartment complex, his mother out on the streets most days. That all changes when Jupiter suddenly stands at the door one day, a couple of people he never met in tow. He asks Warren and Raven to come to Riverdale with him and given that the two were being pursued by a drug dealer looking for their mom, they agree and make a break for it. In Riverdale, Atticus Lambert takes both Jupiter and Warren in as foster kids and for the first time in his life Warren has an actual family and a support system he can fall back on. This is a real culture schock for him. For years he had surpressed his true crazy energy to not make any of the criminals around him mad. He's constantly making plans in his head. He is a bit of a control freak - maybe more than a bit. Obsessed with ghosts, has his own ghost hunting channel on YouTube with a small following. Joins the auto shop at Riverdale High and helps out Andy Cahill in his free time. During summers he likes to go out on the road with Atticus when he's doing his deliveries. Holds his siblings closest to him, has a hard time making friends but starts considering Ruby as one of his best friends when she joins his channel for some videos. Also has a fun dynamic with Lois. Just wants to have a normal life really with no more criminals and constant danger around him which proves to be difficult in a town such as Riverdale.

💡sci-fi au

I'm not all too versed in sci-fi BUT, if anything, I feel like if Riverdale is going to end up retconning the Alien plot and have it be hallucinations, I would turn it into an AU and have Riverdale overrun by Aliens - just not as hammy as they have on the show rn.

Like human-looking Aliens infiltrating town and the DG and Breakaway & Torn Gang fighting back against them.

Teddy would be a scientist, Kippi fighting on the frontlines, Dot would do surveilance, Paisley distraction techniques and try and keep the peace between humans and aliens. The parents would back them up along the way. Benji would do all the technological work.

Misty would use her seduction powers, Beth would fight alongside Kippi and Rain, Booker and Carter would also fight, Jupiter would play peacemaker with Paisley,Lois, and Warren.

Edit, Raven, and Phoebe would provide healthcare.

Hi @valiantgentle! Thank you so much for these questions!

Honestly, this often varies, I like to pride myself on my aesthetics (though I know others make prettier ones, but I enjoy my formuala) but I've started enjoying making gifsets as well. Manips usually vary on if I can find the right material for what I'm trying to accomplish.

Oof, so since I usually do ensemble cast stories it's probably a toss-up between Riverdale and Teen Wolf, though I think Riverdale may be on the number one spot.

Nixie loves makeup! I think her favourite to experiment with is probably eyeshadow, because you can experiment with that so much. She loves trying out different color combos and glitter and other thingamajigs!

Okay so I have some true clowns amongst my kids, but if I had to choose I would probably say Warren Carlson, Bear Wallace or Coop Harris!

I actually mostly find myself creating OCs for mystery shows, mostly the teen ones (IDK why I'm so stuck on those, maybe cause there's usually so much you can fix with fanfiction). Also horror is on the table and sometimes drama. I love comedy but I have a hard time writing fanfic for sitcoms or comedy shows.

for the OC getting done dirty by the writers ask game, could I ask for Ruby Hayes and Jupiter Carlson?

Ruby:

They would probably royally fuck up her being deaf and I would not put it past the writers to straight up forget about it halfway through the show

Make her overtly angry and a bitch (a la Cheryl) when she's actually really nice, just a troublemaker

Mess up her relationship with Teddy

Make Rosa a mean person instead of a good mentor to Ruby

Try and make her like Betty where she flies off the rails for "justice" every episode

Ignore her seeing ghosts because somehow it would be too weird for them when they should just lean into the supernatural

Jupiter:

Ignore his trauma from being abandoned and everything that happened in the Sisters of Quiet Mercy

Not let him sing and give it to Archie instead

Make insufferable fat jokes at his expense (specifically from Cheryl)

Reduce him to the comic relief

Reduce him to just his weight

Not properly explore the relationship with his siblings

Ignore his friendship with Beth after he rescues her even tho Atticus Lambert adopts he and Warren

Completely ignore him altogether after like s2

Oooo, okay, so I think Paisley Monaghan would really like her because they could bond over their passion for gymnastics/dance and Paisley honestly gets along with just about anyone as long as they're nice.

Also, probably Dot Cahill as well. From what I saw they would probably bond over being the "new girl" (aka born and slightly raised in Riverdale, moved for a while, come back for Sophomore Year) and also they're both thrown into Riverdale just as shit goes down. Bonding moments for sure, if you ask me haha

And she might like Warren Carlson as a friend/lover, who knows? 😉
