I've been doing some work to Val's outfits. I shared Val's non-combat outfits earlier today (check them out here) [WARNING: LONG POST] and as promised, here are some shots of Val's combat oriented outfits.
I have once again hurt myself by being a klutz, so with the newly found free time recovering, I experimented with giving Val long hair.
This hair is the Shai hair by Wingdeer (Nexus), I also tried out the John Vk QCC pose mod by IronWings1994 (also Nexus)
Also experimenting more with Val's wardrobe.

Val x Trey shot ❤ featuring one of Val's new 'Casual' appearances (still working on finding clothes that don't clip for Trey's casual appearance).

I like the long hair, but I'm wondering if it's because I changed the shade of pink slightly, so I also changed the shade of pink in Val's regular hair.
The blorbos are sleeping... well, Val is, at least.
This will become clearer when I finally release the new chapters of Brother's Shadow, but here's a snippet for y'all.
Trey laid in bed, staying as perfectly still as he could manage, as to not awaken his exhausted girlfriend, sleeping next to him.
Could Val even bear to be in the same room as him, if she knew the truth? If she knew that the man she fell in love with never really existed. A fiction constructed by a scared boy on the run.
And now the man responsible for the lie that was Trey Marshall's life was in Night City, intending to collect old debts. Trey could feel his ire rising, the blood in his veins beginning to heat up, as he thought of the ways in which this corpulent loan shark slavedriver could die at his hands.
At the same time, if Trey landed a finger on this man, he would be a marked man. To say nothing of what his associates could do to anyone he cared about - especially Val. Not that she couldn't protect herself.
With thoughts of malevolent intent and old fears, long buried since childhood, swimming in his mind, there was no way he could get to sleep now. He resigned himself to lying still in bed until sunrise, a new dawn with an uncertain future.
I really need to write down this stuff since it's starting to get fuckin' complex out here.
I have two main storylines:
Brother's Shadow
Chorus
Brother's Shadow Main Storyline
The main Brother's Shadow timeline has Vince save Songbird in Phantom Liberty so she can go to the Moon, instead pursuing an option given to him by Kaylee Andersen to save his (and Johnny's) life. Val and Trey get married, Val retires from merc work and basically turns into a happier version of her appearance from The Tower AU.
Brother's Shadow: The Tower
Brother's Shadow has an AU: The Tower, where Trey dies and Val eventually gets back together with Clara, and the pair raise Val and Trey's daughter. Everything goes to shit because Vince left the city and everything goes the way of that ending (you know the one).
Chorus Main Timeline
In the main Chorus timeline, Vega and Judy go through the process of falling in love with each other again. Judy has to overcome two years of mourning, and Vega has to accept that V's feeling-laden memories of Judy are also hers.
Chorus Songbird x V AU (no ship name yet)
Chorus has an AU where V and Songbird... um... nest together? (I will not apologize for any bird puns made about So Mi). This entire AU has Johnny acting like a dad finding out that his daughter's dating the netrunner he warned her about, which is a vibe tbh.
Val is Trey's first girlfriend. He hasn't let anyone else close enough to him because of his past. After all, what's to say that the people who he's been running from most of his life won't find him... or worse, find Val?
Trey is not Val's first partner, but considering they've been together for so long, Val feels that Trey is the man she wants to spend the rest of her life with.
The absolute SHOCK on Val's face and the sound loud enough that Wilson could probably hear it over the sound of gunfire from the other side of the megabuilding.
A couple of months ago I commissioned @valentinainat1 (on Twitter and Tumblr) to draw Val from my 2077 fic Brother's Shadow and this has just come through! This is a somewhat older version of Val, from her yellow eyes and monowire era and she still looks AMAZING! words cannot describe how happy I am with this.
(Maybe I should bring back the yellow eyes, what do we think?)
This lovely image of 2078 Val (from after she joins the Aldecaldos) was commissioned from @kjetll . She turned out amazing! Many thanks to kjetll for this piece!
