hi i followed you while you were a reanimator blog and i have no idea what your interest now is but im so confused. can you give me like a rundown about it. it can be as long or as short as you want but like.. what is it... what are the characters... what are they like.... whats the plot...

omg<3 well if you insist 😏 you do NOT have to read all of this its going to be so fucking long

OK SO right now i am very into fallout<3 which if u dont know is a game series set in the years after a nuclear apocalypse - which was the result of a 10-ish year long conflict between america and china over oil and probably other stuff but to be honest im not fully caught up on prewar lore lol

the characters i talk about the most on here are james, red caster*, cyan caster**, charon, (<- all from fallout 3), arcade gannon, craig boone, ed-e, raul alfonso tejada, bullseye nix* (<-from fallout: new vegas), nick valentine, mara schatz*, john hancock, curie, gemini rosemary darling*, sal*, sandra*, orion*, laney*, and shaun (<- from fallout 4)

(characters marked with * are my ocs, cyan whos marked with ** is my homie sockiesocks oc)

there are games other than fallout 3 (fo3) fallout new vegas (fnv) and fallout 4 (fo4) but umm i havent played them that much/at all and i dont like them as much as i like fo3 fnv and fo4 (also known as new fallout)

ill go in chronological order for the games

also obviously spoilers for all of these games as i explain the plots

FALLOUT 3

fallout 3 is a game where your character, the lone wanderer, has to leave their home in vault 101 (vaults are shelters that people hid in when the bombs went off and sometimes sustain populations of humans far after the war. i say sometimes because most of the vaults also doubled as like weird experiments which often resulted in the death of most if not all of the vault dwellers, or resulted in all of them leaving) because their dad (james) mysteriously took off and now the lone wanderer has to find him. the lone wanderer ventures into the wasteland and encounters all the people who live there as well as new mutated species - notably ghouls (humans with advanced specific radiation poisoning who resemble rotting corpses and have prolonged lifespans) and super mutants (humans who were infected with FEV (forced evolution virus) and survived often gained extreme muscle growth and increased strength but also lost intelligence and reasoning abilities (this isnt always the case though as fev was and is still a highly unpredictable virus with many many varied results, some people just died from it, some people turned into an altogether different creature called a centaur, some people became the classic super mutant you encounter most often in the wasteland, while others gained the enhanced strength and kept their intelligence))

you follow clues to find your dad and you find out hes returning to an old experiment called project purity, which aimed to bring clean water to the capital wasteland (the area of post-war america that fo3 is set in, around washington DC) theres a power struggle surrounding project purity once you and him get close to getting it up and running, as the enclave (surviving remnants of the pre-war US government) and the capital wasteland brotherhood of steel (a part of the brotherhood of steel that is largely considered a defective as they almost entirely abandoned the BoS' original main goal of collecting and studying prewar military technology in favor of protecting the people of the capital wasteland) vie for control over the project. the game ends with you activating project purity and sacrificing yourself in the process unless you have a dlc that adds more to the game which i unfortunately do not have yet <//3

james - james is your (the lone wanderer's) dad he is a scientist from the wasteland who worked for many years on project purity with his wife and some other scientists. however, when his wife gave birth to the lone wanderer - dying in the process - he decided to move to vault 101 and abandon project purity in order to protect his kid. he is overall a very kind and selfless man - although that selflessness can be argued to be a fault at times and not a virtue, like when he sacrificed himself to save project purity, leaving his 19 yr old kid alone to inherit all the responsibility of the project

red caster - red is my lone wanderer! shes a very angry kid who likes baseball and tinkering with guns/electronics and she has soooo many issues and soooo much trauma <3 she is very protective of her loved ones - of which she has few because shes very closed off to strangers lol. i could talk about her FOREVER so ill keep this brief but if u wanna know more theres a decent amount of stuff in her tag and i also am always willing to answer asks about her

cyan caster - cyan is my friend @ sockiesock's lone wanderer who we also have decided is red's twin brother <3 he is a fun guy who likes baseball and computers and he is also very deeply traumatized. not my oc so i wont talk about him a ton here but hayden's blog has more info on him

charon - charon is a ghoul who can become a companion. he was brainwashed as a child to follow anyone who held his employment contract, so its kindof hard to like pinpoint his personality because to become your companion you have to buy his contract and become his new employer but he seems to be like. very dedicated to his moral code - getting angry if you kill npcs with good karma (karma being the kind of morality system in the game) unprovoked or if you steal from the underworld (the ghoul sanctuary he lives in prior to becoming your companion) and to be just a generally kind guy

FALLOUT NEW VEGAS

fallout new vegas is about courier six, your player character, a person who was hired to deliver a platinum gambling chip to the lucky 38 casino in the new vegas strip (literally just las vegas but like 2.0) they were shot in the head and had the chip stolen from them, and so they have to track down benny - the man who shot them - and get it back to complete their delivery. while they track him down they find out more about the mojave wasteland, and how there are tensions brewing between the new california republic (aka the ncr - a government modeled after pre-war america) and caesar's legion (a group that is founded off like. old roman politics i think? i havent done a legion run of fnv yet so idk much about their like internal politics lol. but theyre like evil they enslave people and crucify people and have used sheer brute force to absorb every tribe and group in the like southen middle area of the us and grow more powerful) who are fighting over control of the mojave. once you find benny you find out that the platinum chip is a data storage device containing lots of upgrades for mr house's (the guy who controls the new vegas strip, a pre war business man who used his money and power and access to advance technology to set up defense systems that shot many of the nuclear warheads out of the sky, keeping the new vegas strip extremely well preserved and the general mojave area less dangerous and irradiated than other places in the us that were hit more directly) robot army. at this point you can begin to choose which side to take in the conflict - siding with the ncr to solidify their hold on the mojave, siding with the legion to solidify their hold on the mojave, siding with mr house to extend his control outside of just the strip and take over the rest of the mojave, or going for the independent new vegas ending which kills mr house and pushes both the legion and the ncr back into their territory, allowing for the people of the mojave and the new vegas area especially to live lives that arent controlled by any one government/guy.

arcade gannon - arcade gannon is a medical researcher working with the followers of the apocalypse (an organization that works to bring medical supplies, treatment, and knowledge to the people of the wasteland for free so they can keep themselves and their communities healthy), although he has like a #secretbackstory that he grew up within the enclave. hes very sarcastic and kind of bitchy but in like a fun way. hes not like an asshole he believes in independence and equality for the people of the wasteland and does his best to make a difference and make that dream come true.

craig boone - hes an ex-ncr sniper, who tried to settle down in a town with his wife and best friend but then his wife who was pregnant got sold into legion slavery and he shot her at the auction so she wouldnt have to endure the like uniquely horrific conditions of legion slavery so hes um a very deeply sad man. he is very dedicated to his morals and tries very hard to right the wrong hes done as well as punish the legion for Being The Worst Ever. hes my skrungly even tho i hate the ncr

ed-e - ed-e is an enclave eyebot that was like an experimental more durable version of the standard eyebots, meant originally for combat but the project was scrapped so he was supposed to go to california ?? honestly idk ed-e's full story LOL i just know hes my funny little robot orb friend

raul alfonso tejada - hes a pre-war ghoul (a ghoul who was born before the war)who used to be a mechanic and also before that a gunslinger ? i havnt done his quest yet so idk the details of his backstory but hes a nice and funny guy even if hes kind of a grumpy old man

bullseye nix flores - she is my oc!! shes one of my courier sixes :) shes a 12 yr old girl who was raised in a big nomadic kind of "family" in the desert and is now like entering society for the first time to do this delivery because her dad told her to before he and the rest of her family um #gotkilled and she is having a rough time of things but shes doing her best <3 she really likes fixing up old tech and hunting and reading comics (well um by reading i mean looking at the pictures. she cant read lol) and raul is her new grandpa and arcade is her new dad because the old ones are dead lol <3 shes a very very weird little girl and she does not understand the world she lives in now but she does her best to be kind and helpful and i love her so so much

FALLOUT 4

in fallout 4 you play as the sole survivor, someone who was alive before the war. you go run to your local vault to take shelter with your spouse and infant son, and you are cryogenically frozen without your knowledge. when you wake up 200 years later, you see your spouse get shot and your baby get taken. the goal of the game is to find your son and the people who took him/killed your spouse, and as youre searching you find out about this shadowy organization called "the institute" who makes synths - synthetic humans, androids who are almost impossible to tell apart from humans - and occasionally kidnaps and replaces people with synths. you also find out about the railroad, a group dedicated to rescuing escaped synths and helping them start new lives outisde of the institute. the brotherhood of steel and the minutemen are also major factions in the game but i didnt do their routes so idk as much about them lol umm anyway so u work with this detective guy nick valentine to find ur son and u find out he was kidnapped by the institute so you have to find some way to get in there and once you do you find out uh oh he runs the institue now and also hes an old man. you were refrozen after you saw your baby get kidnapped, and about 60 more years passed before you escaped the vault to look for your son even though you thought it hadnt been any time at all. anyway so at this point youve pretty much chosen which of the 3 above-ground factions to be allied with - the railroad, the minutemen, or the brotherhood of steel - because you need one of them to help you get into the institute in the first place. so you work with the institute a bit to like be "undercover" and you find out that the instutue wants to like go above ground and extend more direct influence over the commonwealth (thats the name of the part of the country ur in, ur in boston/the surrounding area) and you can choose to shift your alliance to be with them or continue working with oyur chosen above ground faction to 1) destroy the instute and 2) extend your factions power ?? i guess. its not like fnv where your chosen faction like gains control of the region, only really if you side with the bos or the institute, if you side with the railroad they just help more synths escape and their operations become slightly more public and not as secretive and if you side with the minutemen they just like. continue helping people and chilling i guess. thats all the minutemen really do they just help farmers defend themselves and sit in their fort broadcasting their gay little radio signal i love them.

nick valentine - nick is a detective who helps you find your son!! he is also a synth, a prototype model between gen 2 and gen 3 (gen 2's are kind of just your classic robots while gen 3's are primarily biological not mechanical and they are capable of independent thought and emotion) he is a very kind and gentle man and i love him so sos soso mcuh he si blorbo from my fallout he is my best friend ever<3333

mara schatz - mara is my sole survivor!! she was an art teacher before the war and now she is general of the minutemen and a special agent for the railroad. she wants everyone to be ok and happy and safe and she does her best to help out whoever she can and be kind and gentle but also sometimes she gets a little #revengecrayzee and starts murdering people who hurt her or her loved ones

john hancock - john is a ghoul who is themayor of the town of goodneighbour which is like the 2nd biggest town int he cmmonwelath and its generally considered to be a place where anyone is welcome as long as they dont cause toooo much trouble, in contrast with diamond city - the biggest city in the commonwealth - where you very much have to like. fit the status quo. there is a ban on any ghouls entering the city and they hate synths sooo much its #bad. hes also a very sad man who does lots of drugs and hates his brother who is the mayor of diamond city and instated the ghoul ban. hancock believes in helping people whenever you can although he is definitely willing to like be a bit unconventional about it and he loves theft and drugs and sex #slay

curie - curie was originally a robot in a vault dedicated to studying diseases and like how they spread/can be cured but once she travels with you for a bit she decides that being a robot is too limiting and she cant properly complete her research like this so she has a quest where you implant her memories and like consciousness into the body of a gen 3 synth its very fun. she is a very very sweet and kind lady if not a bit naive after spending her whole life in a vault and not really knowing how the wasteland works. she and mara are married fun fact :)

shaun - shaun is your son!! the shaun i talk about the most though is synth shaun, a synth version of your like "real" son. hes a kid, i think about 10 years old, and hes my little skrungly oughghgh i love him sosmuch.. hes such a sweetie and you can take him with you when you blow up the institute and he talks about how happy he is that you try and make the commonwealth a better place and he likes to take things apart and build new things with the spare parts and hes so cute and sweet and WAUGH i love him so much ok...

(ok everything after this point is like 100% fanon and my ocs lol)

gemini rosemary darling - GEMINI shes my friend <33 gemini is an oc of mine!! shes not a protagonist in the game like nix or mara or red are shes just hanging out :3 shes a ghoul seamstress originally from california who eventually traveled to diamond city - moving in a few years after the mayor died and the ghoul ban was lifted - and she is a very nice and fun and sweet old lady who likes to ance and bake and wear pretty thins. she and nick date and eventually get married :)

sandra - sandra is another oc of mine, shes a synth ghoul - the first and only of her kind, the instutute was experimenting with creating ghoul synths when the railroad destroyed them and sandra escaped with her friend sal and started a little bar/club thing in diamond city called sandy's place it has music and food and people dance there its fun :)

sal - sal is a synth as well!! he is sandras friend as mentioned above. hes a very very very nervous man who is not coping well with this new life and he like #needstherapy. all he wants in life is to be helpful and hang out with his friends and tbh i respect it go king. sandra felt bad for him because he had like no idea what to do after eh escaped the instutue with her so he works as the coat guy at her bar lol

orion - orion is a human musician, the main one at sandra's bar. she plays a couple of instruments (harmonica, banjo, acoustic guitar) but honestly prefers to just sing most of the time. she is a cheerful lady who likes to dress up real fancy and wear tuxedos every time she performs. she likes to pretend shes like cool + suave but she gets flustered soooo easily whenever the bouncer at the bar flirts with her lol

laney - laney is the recruitment manager for the minutemen in diamond city and shes also the bouncer for sandy's place!! she is also in lesbians with orion #lovewins shes kind of a like fake cool edgy loser LOL she acts like shes so cool all the time but she is a big dorkus who likes grognak the barbarian comics and refuses to take her sunglasses off indoors because she thinks it makes her more mysterious <3

anyway umm yeah thats fallout and the guys i talk about the most :) if i missed anything or u have more questions feel free 2 ask i love talking about it as u can probably tell LMFAO
