Hi, I really love your last post about avatar! Honestly, I always thought it's kind of weird that air benders were considered extinct and that aang was the only one left (even though it's canon until lok). Because let's be honest: there would have been at least one air bender with an affair/secret love child somewhere that would pass on the bending gift. What do you think? I always imagined there were air benders living in secret somewhere and your art reminded me of that idea. :)

I was wondering that as well!!! I can definitely imagine there being some air benders who’ve went into hiding or air benders who find their abilities latent from ancestors?? Air benders that were traveling while the attacks were happening? It’s an interesting concept. I’ve read that bending and the abilities can have a lot to do with someone’s spirituality as well, which is the explanation for all air nomads being able to air bend, and that’s sorta what I’ve rooted my oc Afeen in (along with an airbender ancestor somewhere in the line). Still figuring it out but!! I do like the idea that Aang finds closure in knowing there’s still some semblance of air benders spread across the world.
