“Talked with a friend about how bad bus drivers are where I live and how many times I landed on somebody or somebody has landed on me. Somehow felt like to write a short fic about it, ended up being more from real life than I dare to admit. N-no! it’s not like that!”
Words: 2714
Genre: fluff, modern AU, gn!reader
"-and that's it for today. Don't forget to review, the exam will mostly contain questions based on this topic. The results will gradually affect your grades."
With those words the professor has left the room. It was the last class of the day and obviously he didn't want to waste any minute. Hurrying to his car not to get caught in traffic.
You were idly sitting at your desk, not even paying attention to others packing their stuff and leaving the classroom. You are slowly the last person in the room. You didn't listen most of the time and had no idea what the professor was talking about. Your mind was drifting everywhere, it's too hard to stay focused on classes. Especially when your mind is overflowing with ideas.
Last night you had talked with one of your friends. You two knew since elementary school and despite choosing different schools and paths you remained in contact. She knew everything about you including the passion for writing. It was just a hobby of yours. You had never planned it to be your career.
In fact not so many knew about it. People around you knew you were writing something in your notebook. But you are a student, probably writing some notes for school or something. And you always hid your writings when somebody was approaching. Even if they asked what you were doing you just said 'rewriting my school notes, hehe.'
Except that one friend nobody has any idea about your passion. Perhaps it's for the best as you are really shy about it. The thought of other people seeing what you write or how you write is kind of terrifying. Publishing your stories never crossed your mind until your friend got fed up one day. Telling you to just go and publish it. There was no room for negotiations.
Your shyness slowly disappeared, at least when it came to publishing your works online. People didn't know you, your name or who you are. They knew you under a nickname and that's it. You felt safe and happy as you got quickly recognized and fans were leaving supportive comments.
Writing is your way to express yourself and your emotions. Talking to people face to face is quite harder. You don't have the time to think it through and usually say the first thing which comes to your mind. Sometimes ending up saying some weird stuff which embarrasses you. That's why you rather don't initiate talk or talk really rarely.
You are most talkative around your best friend and family. Everything else is just giving you anxious feelings. You'd love to start talking with others, especially if they are talking about something you are also interested in. But you are simply not that kind of person who would randomly join in and talk. Sometimes you wish all conversations could happen in written form, that way you would be the star.
You wanted to pull out your notebook and write down some of your thoughts but you realized where you are. Looking around the classroom, it's only you. Sighing for yourself. It will have to wait until you arrive at your apartment. Quickly packing all books into your fancy bag and rushing to your locker.
You were actually sharing the locker with another person but they are sick at the moment. Their half is clean as ever, books neatly folded, cup and coffee hidden in the back part of the locker. They actually made you into the coffee addicted person you are now. At first you didn't like it but eventually fell in love with the bitter flavor.
Sometimes you fetch some latté on your way home, thinking of where you would be without caffeine. It's probably one of the best things which happened to you during your university days. So many sleepless nights as you were studying for exams or writing until early morning.
Changing into your comfy shoes, wrapping a scarf around your neck and dressing into the coat you loved so much. It's so warm and cool looking, makes you feel badass whenever you wear it. One last glance over your stuff in the locker in case you had forgotten about something. All set. Time to catch a bus.
Knowing about you had missed all early buses and will probably get stuck in traffic. Which is fine by you, your earbuds and music is ready. Luckily you didn't have to wait for too long at the bus stop. But it was enough for your cheeks to start freezing. As always you stood at your usual spot. Not feeling like sitting as you do it the whole day at school and home.
Wrapping one arm around the pole, leaning a bit at it. There's not many people with you on the bus and so you can monopolize the pole and the area around it. You put down your bag as it was quite heavy and your shoulder was starting to hurt. Pulling the phone out of your pocket and browsing news.
Not really paying attention, just mindlessly scrolling through articles. Sometimes reading the first few sentences before you go back and keep scrolling.
As expected the bus was moving slowly, the delay was getting worse and worse. Checking the time, you had already spent here over ten minutes. If the bus had moved by a few meters, it's a lot, let's say that. Delays are quite normal at this hour so you don't really sweat it. Looking back to your screen, resuming your news browsing.
After a couple of minutes the bus finally got out of the major traffic and quickly catching up with the delay. As expected the ride was faster than usual, hopefully still within the speed limits. However you won't know this, all you know is the roundabout you will reach soon won't be funny. It's quite a steep one and even if the driver will take it very slowly you will have a hard time balancing yourself.
You are prepared, actually holding tight the pole instead of leaning on it. You have a perfect posture to keep yourself stable. Maybe your grip on the pole is a bit too convulsive. As you feel unpleasant pressure in your wrist. The moment you ease the grip a little, feeling how your feet are sliding. Before you tighten your grip again you fly forward. Trying your best not to crash into the person who was sitting there.
Despite all of your efforts you land on them. You are in shock but more than that you are embarrassed. As you tried to pull back and regain your posture. Feeling hands on your shoulders. Apologies are about to roll out of your lips but they are faster.
"Hey, are you alright?"
Up until now you didn't realize it's a guy you fell on. His long crimson locks tied into a ponytail. At first you thought you had landed on a woman. But his hoarse voice assured you he is anything but a female. You are too close to him for your comfort, his scent already entered your nose. Feeling how heat is rising in your cheeks. This is bad. His crimson eyes were darting around your face, looking for any sign of injury.
'This is embarrassing, say something you idiot!'
"Uh, yea. I... I'm terribly sorry!"
Your voice nearly betrayed you. The last word could be barely heard which made you even more wishing to just be able to vanish. Staring at the male unable to think what to say. Feeling relieved when the bus has stopped as he lets go his hold on you. If you could, you could have dug yourself in a ten meters deep hole and never climb up.
Quickly murmuring out another apology. Grabbing your bag and jumping out of the bus. It doesn't matter if your stop is still far away. You'd rather walk the rest or wait for another bus than stay in that one.
It was already dark outside when you arrived at your place. Freezing and tired. Trying not to think of what happened earlier but you couldn't get the male's scent out of your nose. It was like he is still next to you, the sweet smell of vanilla.
You let it be as you tossed the bag into a corner in your room. You are too hungry to think about anything. Making some quick cup noodles and eating them while going through another writing and editing session.
Days were passing by. Always the same: school, ride home and then either study or write. You had forgotten about what happened a few days ago, not even mentioning it to your close friend who had been hanging out with you here and now in chat.
It's Friday and you are feeling like chugging one quick latté. Perhaps you will sit there for a while and write a bit. You sure do like the atmosphere in café shops especially with playing jazz. Sitting in your corner, peeking at other customers here and now. Just to be sure nobody is approaching you.
You ordered your regular and are waiting for the waitress. In the meantime you pull out your small notebook and read through the latest ideas. You usually write short things there, like drabbles which sometimes turn into much longer stories.
When a cup with your favorite drink landed on the table you looked up and shot a quick smile at the waitress. She answered with the same gesture before checking on other customers.
You fished for a pen in your bag. As soon as the tip of the pen touched the paper, a group of guys entered the shop. You didn't look up to check on them. Why would you anyway? You came here to chill after school, enjoy your drink and possibly write a few lines. Well maybe if you did check, then you would have noticed the redhead from before.
He was dragged here by his friends as they got this stupid idea to look at girls. Starting here at café and moving to other public places. He didn't want to. He is kind of tired after the long week but that's also the reason why he is here. Too tired to search for excuses. And he knew he would need valid ones especially for his little brother whose idea was all of this.
As he sat with them, quite unbothered by their talk about the waitress who just took their order. Pulling out his phone to finish reading something he started during lunch break. He agreed to tag along not join into their jewelry observations as they call it. They could be talking about anything and he wouldn't pay mind to it.
Only to be brought back to reality when Childe snatched his phone away. Grinning at him.
"C'mon Diluc, your social media can wait. Cute girls won't~"
The scarlet haired male rolled eyes at the ginger.
"For your information, reading stories is not the same as browsing twitter."
"Oh? What I am hearing? I didn't know my big bro is into reading inappropriate stories."
Diluc shot a glare at the bluenette. Reconsidering if it's worth his time to argue about it. If anyone is reading smuts here, it's Kaeya. Why is he hanging out with his brother again?
Childe waved with his phone in front of his face in a very taunting manner. But didn't evade when Diluc reached for it, sliding it back into his coat. Looking around the café and then he noticed you. He was not sure if it's really you, the person who fell on him on the bus a few days ago. But when you looked up to take a sip of your latté he saw your face.
Something inside of him felt like to get up and go talk to you. But he can't. Or? Can he talk to you? A total stranger whom he met only once and under strange circumstances? For some reason he really wanted to greet you at least. He resisted the urge for long enough, at least until Kaeya didn't notice where he was looking and said something about it.
Grabbing his cup and slowly approaching you. He didn't know what he was doing or why he was doing it. When he was close enough to your table, clearing his throat, asking if he could join you.
Your eyes shoot up to the not so familiar voice. Widening when you realized it's the same guy from back then. Feeling like your stomach was being squished. Just when you had forgotten about that embarrassing moment.
All what you managed was a nod, observing how he sat at the chair opposite of you. Nervously smiling at him. What should you say? This is awkward.
"Um-"
You both started in unison, exchanging embarrassed looks. You motioned to him to start.
"Hi, uh. Hope I'm not disturbing?"
"No... not at all."
You put your hand over the notebook instinctively. It's a habit of yours, hiding it from anyone's eyes.
"I'm Diluc and you are-"
"That person who landed on you on the bus, yes that’s me."
You deadpanned. Can't help it but smile a little, finding it funny. The guy who you fell at, the one who should be mad at you. He is trying to talk to you and what's better he also seems to be nervous while talking. Feeling a bit relieved as it probably won't be only you embarrassing themselves.
He chuckled a little at your words. Kind of wishing to know you more than just a person who fell on him. When you tried to apologize once again he stopped you, saying it's fine. To change the topic he asked for your name and where were you going back then.
When he found out you are also an university student he felt relieved a bit and more at ease. You had something in common, something you both could relate to. As the talk between you warmed up enough, when the first uneasiness faded. You talked about your hobbies, of course you didn't want to tell him about your big passion and said you are reading.
Which wasn't that much far from reality but unlike him you didn't read from known authors or big titles. In fact most of your reading were stories from other passionate writers, mixed with random novels here and now.
"Oh, I also happen to read stories posted on the web. Some people are really talented."
He admits and flashes you something that one could describe as a slight smile? But really quick so your brain barely registers it.
"Hey um, I know this will be strange. But I kind of enjoy our talk, it's much more..." He trailed off as he was thinking how to put  it without saying anything bad about his companions. Who are probably scheming or coming up with various ideas how to use this against him.
"What I mean is, you act like a person in your age unlike my brother."
You tried not to laugh too much. Giggles escaping your lips. Truth to be told you were also enjoying this little talk between the two of you. This was probably the very first conversation you had with a stranger. And they didn't seem to mind your awkwardness.
It feels like you two understand each other. Both are interested in literature, have to deal with school troubles and have something unique to each of you.
Looking up into his ruby eyes. "Yeah. I'm enjoying this too. Why didn't I fall on you earlier?!"
Both of you laughed at that remark.
"If you don't mind, we could do this more often?"
"You mean me falling on you on the bus or drinking coffee?"
"The latter. If I see you on the same bus I'll make sure you sit."
You two had talked more after this. Way longer than both of you expected. When Diluc checked the table where his companions were sitting before he noticed they are gone. He didn't think of checking his phone. But once he does he will find a message from his brother.
「'Seems like you had found somebody to spent night with, don't worry about your lil bro and enjoy~ 😘 '」

Human courting is confusing. Chapter 28

So. It has been almost a year.
I’m sorry.

Chapter 28: Doing something ridiculous
“You look delicious,” was the demon’s first comment.
Yako forced the blush down and focused on her hands’ position, one above her head on the frame of the door and the other on her hip, which was cocked to a side in a desperate attempt to look sexy and desirable. She felt ridiculous and the tiny smile on Neuro’s face told her that her bold movement didn’t have the effect she expected.
Welp, she was just trying to calm her nerves.
“Come here,” he ordered, his emerald eyes shining like they never did, a predatory glint in them that instead of invoking fear in her body gave her shivers that had little to do with the cold. Yako approached him with a slow pace, looking at him straight in the eyes, not knowing that in her own brown eyes a demonic shine appeared on them.
Neuro chuckled.
“As you can see,” he started as he made a gesture over everything placed on the bed, “I have come prepared. Rejoice, Yako.”
She slowly blinked and looked at the stuff her husband had brought from the human world. She recognized plenty of those things but she had never see one in real life, only pictures on the Internet. She would be lying to herself if she said that she had never browsed on the internet about BDSM and all the mechanics and complexity around that world. She was aware that what her demon did with her body was not different from the usual techniques and the fact that she had survived some of the catalogued as “hardcore” ones made her laugh once upon a time.
At first it was a scary thought. Doing that in a sexual manner, that is. She was used to punishment and painful treatment, but she never felt aroused when Neuro did those things to her. It was simply the usual thing they did and even if she didn’t like it, it was normal .
But they had slowly got used to the idea of including more of that into their private moments, little snippets of controlled pain and getting her movements restricted. She found out that she did like it and that the feeling was very different from when Neuro punished her for whatever other reason. She didn’t know if it was the look on his face or the way her skin seemed to be over-sensitive when they were doing it, but her body responded in a very different manner when she got tied up and vulnerable and at her - by then - boyfriend’s will.
It was probably around a week before the wedding when she discovered she was a hopeless submissive person.
There was little she didn’t enjoy, but she suspected that it was because she trusted her now husband not to do anything potentially dangerous or fatal to her. He never did, not even when he was really angry, so she didn’t have any reason to start fearing him now. But he did like to tease, and a lot. It was in that border between letting himself go full demon mode and reminding himself that she was only human what usually took her to her limit.
The idea of testing where those limits were with the new arrangement of her condition (and his) excited her so much that she felt the familiar tingling sensation between her legs. The broadening smile on her demon’s face told her that he knew what she was thinking, arousing her even more than before.
She still was a bit nervous, so her voice came a little strangled when she finally spoke.
“So…” she stopped to clear her throat and realized that she didn’t know where to put her hands now. Yako stepped closer to Neuro until her naked legs touched his crossed ones, and as sexily as she could she leaned down and put her hands on his bare shoulders. He had taken off the traditional kimono and put back his usual blue pants and white undershirt, she noticed. “Ready?” she whispered looking at him straight in the eye.
The demon smirked just in time to have his lips claimed by the not-quite-human-anymore Yako. The kiss was soft and tame, something that may be out of place in a mating night. Usually those were full of raw passion and rough sex, barely any words and a lot of skin to skin contact. But, of course, with Yako everything was different. She made everything unique with her human nature and her quick thinking mind. She was, after all, his mate and he wouldn't settle for less.
He let her push him into the soft mattress, even if it was only to see what she was going to do. He had to admit, it was interesting letting her take the initiative from time to time, letting himself just feel her small hands undress him, just like they were doing now. Her smaller hands undoing the buttons of his inner shirt, ceremoniously caressing the skin beneath with the tips of her blunt nails as it was being uncovered.
“My my, aren’t we in a rush?”
Yako blushed but stuck her tongue at him. What she didn’t expect was his sudden attack to her person.
“Ouch!” the detective complained, tasting the blood on her mouth coming from her bitten tongue. “Please, be careful with your teeth.”
“I think that’s exactly what you don’t want me to be tonight,” he smirked.
“Well…,” she looked anywhere but the gorgeous demon under her, a tiny smile on her blood-stained lips.
“Naughty girl.”
He flipped them over and pinned his mate against the soft mattress, personally enjoying how her legs parted to make room for one of his, which settled teasingly near her core. He smirked when she let out a tiny gasp that obviously wasn’t meant to be heard.
“Thankfully, as I have said before, I came prepared to punish little servants that misbehave.”
“Oh, I see,” she smirked, her face red but determined, “so you are used to punish servants that are also your mate. I’m hurt, Neuro. I thought demons mated for life.”
“But we do, my dear slug,” the demon let go one of her arms and cupped her cheek with his hand, caressing her skin softly and earning a sigh full of desire from his mate. “I wouldn’t do this to anyone else.”
As he spoke, his hand make its way down to the exposed skin of her throat and the top or her cleavage. The piece of sexy lingerie that she wore wasn’t new to him; in fact, it was the one he said he liked when she did a silly runway two weeks before the wedding. She had insisted on asking his opinion on her stuff and while it was silly he gained the promise of more smooching after that. Both were pretty distracted the whole show and it surprised him that she remembered which one gained a legit response from him.
“I hope so, because if I ever learn that you cheated on me, I’ll kill you,” Yako lifted her freed arm to gently caress his cheek as the demon laughed pretty loudly.
“You can try.” His eyes sparkled when they crossed paths with hers, which were again shining with that inhuman glint that gave away her current status.
Yako licked her lips, cleaning them of any remaining blood from before.
He suddenly grabbed her left boob in a rough movement that she didn’t see coming, the gasp of pain dying in her throat when the sensation burned all the way down to the place between her legs. The demon squeezed softly, pinching her covered and hardening nipple between gloved fingers, making her bite her lower lip and close her eyes. She liked this but the amount of pleasure that this simple thing gave her was absurd. Was it because of the bond they now shared that her body was so sensitive and turned on?
Neuro squeezed again and captured her lips in a rough and open mouthed kiss, licking the trapped lip under her teeth.
“Don’t silence your pretty sounds, Yako. I like hearing you beg and squirm.”
“Someone might hear-”
“Then let them,” he grumbled, his lips somewhere near the mating mark. “This is our mating night. Let them be reminded of that.”
A shiver went down her body and not because she was cold (which she wasn’t) and she closed her eyes, letting herself just feel her mate’s administrations to her body. He was being slow and gentle, or at least as much as he could be, compared to other intimate moments they had shared before. She wondered if he was feeling as weird as she was, but maybe it was just her marveling at the power that entailed big amounts of demon energy. Was this how he felt all the time? Like he could do practically anything without breaking a sweat? No wonder he was always so full of himself.
She felt the bites go down her neck and all the way to her shoulder, his sharp teeth leaving marks and drawing blood before he licked the bitten skin to close the wound quickly. It didn’t hurt as much as she expected, her mind too full of information to focus on the pain anymore.
“Stand up,” he commanded, his voice husky and seductive. Just as she liked it. “I want to try my new toys.”
She did as was told, shuffling until she was on her knees on the comfy bed, her cute piece of lingerie pushed down and barely covering her breasts and her uncomfortably soaked panties. She rubbed her thighs together trying to ease the sensation.
Yako looked at the stuff he placed on the bed and wondered what he had planned for today’s session. She wondered if it’d hurt. She wondered how much she would like it.
“Hands,” Neuro said, standing up and going to the other side of the bed to pick up something from there. Ropes. How original.
“Really?” she asked, one eyebrow cocked.
“Nu-uh,” the demon shook his head. “Slaves don’t talk back, Yako. I thought you would have learned your lesson by now.”
She smirked and bit her lip, the ‘Then I guess I need a reminder ’ on the tip of her tongue. Somehow he read her thoughts, because he smirked, flashing those perfectly pointed teeth to her, and approached her again. He took her small wrists in one hand and pulled her to him, his lips ending so close to hers that she could almost taste the sweet and smokey flavour of her mate.
“My sweet, sweet Yako,” he purred teasingly. “ So predictable. ”
As she leaned in to finally kiss him, he pulled back with a deep chuckle.

Sweet Blood |2|
Tumblr media
A/N: Hiiiiiiiiiii! I hope you all like this heh. I worked hard on it but it still doesn’t seem to be as good as it could be. I hope you can see my growth with this series.
~Admin Allie
Part |1| |2|
Since you weren’t welcome into your neighbors’ home, you decided to introduce yourself to the other people in the cul de sac. You walked to the house that was next to the bloodsuckers and admired the garden. It was small but the pretty blue and purple flowers made you feel welcome. It was so often where you saw roses or daisies and the sight of these flowers were so refreshing. You walked up to the door and knocked twice. You waited for a while before thinking of knocking again but when you heard shuffling inside, you kept your arms at your sides.
“Who is it?” You heard the sweet voice of an older woman speak to you through the door.
“I moved in yesterday. Uh, I live two doors down. My name is Y/-” She responded with a delighted gasp and opened the door for you. “Nice to meet you dear.” You put your hand out for a handshake but she wrapped her arms around you. You lifted your brows due to surprise but you embraced her. You and Bennie didn’t hug much, it was too weird. But to hug a complete stranger made you feel so loved. “I’m Ms. Larkspur.” She let go of you.
“I’m Y/- “
“Y/N, I know dear.” You furrowed your brow a bit, confused but a little scared as to how she knew your name. “I knew you would come soon.” She gave you a gentle smile that made you want to feel comfort in the situation but you just couldn’t.
“How did you know?”
“I saw you coming,” She tapped her temple. “With my third eye.” She winked at you and your worries lessened. It would be weird if this woman weren’t supernatural but with her announcement of her powers, you understood. But you were still confused. How did she see you coming when you are of such a low rank? You knew from your limited knowledge of tri-seekers, they only saw the path of those who are powerful or important. Seeing that you were neither, you questioned her. “Would you like to come in?” You didn’t see why not so you stepped into her house.
“Would you like a reading?” She sat in her chair and looked at you as you nodded. Tri-seekers weren’t like other psychics or fortune tellers. Everything they tell you is about how the people around you are affected by you. They don’t see the future and they don’t know everything about ones past. But they do have the ability to warn one of the people who may want to harm or help them. However, another downfall is how they tell you, they don’t outright say who the person is and they are often referred to plants and animals.
“I take it you met the lovely boys next door?”
“Yes, I have.”
“Hmm, some of them have pretty strong opinions on you already. Would you like to hear the story of the bunny, the bear, the puppy, the tiger or the cat?” Since you didn’t know who was who, you chose based off of instinct.
“The cat.”
“The cat is terrified of you,” you couldn’t see your face but you were sure that your skepticism was showing. “They know what you can do and they are afraid because you are unaware of your power.”
“But I know what I am capable of, which is very little. And if this is based off of that rumor, that folktale, then their fear is bullshit.”
“Talk to the bunny and you’ll know why.”
“How can I talk to the bunny? I don’t kn-,” Your phone rang out in an obnoxiously loud way. You looked down to it and saw that it was Bennie.
“Hello?”
“Where are you?!”
“I’m meeting our neighbors. I’m just two doors down, what’s up?”
“Come home now!”
Bennie’s command made you scared so you quickly told Ms. Larkspur goodbye and left her house. When you got outside, you saw Bennie standing in front of the men’s home. She looked at you and ran to you. You asked her was wrong but all she did was chant thankful wishes under her breath.
“Christ, I thought you were with them.” She looked suspiciously at the house you came out of. “A tri-seeker?”
“Yeah, how did you know?”
“There’s larkspur and nightshade in the yard.”
When you got back in the house, you were going to go to your room but Bennie called you into the living room. She said that she needed to talk to you and that it was something important.
“Okay..”
“Okay?”
“So, what I have to tell you is that this, um, this town that we live in… is for magical and mythical beings.” She blurted out the last half of the words and you laughed at her.
“You think I didn’t know that? I may not be able to sense when someone is supernatural but I am well aware of the energy of the masses.”
“And you’re not mad? You said that you wanted a normal life and to not live in one of these protected cities. I thought you hated the idea.”
“I do. But since I’m not in control of myself, even after ten years,” you added bitterly. “It’s the better option.”
She was surprised that you admitted that 1) because you were too stubborn to realize that you were pretty bad at concealing your powers and 2) you hated the idea of living in a neighborhood with just supernaturals. You had nothing against them, obviously. But you felt like it wasn’t right to have them all cooped up in one place, isolated from the beings that took up most of the earth. Despite not being human, you were still to be respected at treated like one. But to be shoved into a corner because of others who were afraid on you, dangerous or not, was frustrating. However, you did understand their concern. And places like this are good for people like you who have not yet been able to control themselves. You saw both the good and the bad in the situation. But since you lived here now, you decided to just suck it up and be happy to even have somewhere to live, a rarity for a mythical being, especially one that exposed themselves to a crowd of drunk people.
After your talk with Bennie, you walked to the living room and sat on the couch. You didn’t have anything you wanted to watch so you flipped to a random channel and let the sound fill the room as you browsed twitter on your phone. You were going to click on a funny video but the doorbell rang.
“Bennie! Did you order food?” You pushed yourself off of the couch and walked to the door.
“No.” She said down the stairs.
You pulled open the door and saw Junmyeon’s smiling face. You smiled back to him and asked him what he was here for.
“I need to talk to you about something. Would you mind if I came in?” You shook your head and moved aside, letting him into the house. You lead him into the living room and turned down the television. He sat down and started his words, not wanting to drag on the conversation more than it needed to.
“As you probably know, all of the men I live with, including myself, are vampires.” You nodded your head to show him that you understood that point very well. “Good.” He looked at you and then his eyes fell.
“Is that what you needed to tell me?”
“No,” he shook his head. “I needed to tell you about what Minseok did earlier.”
“Ah, when he forced me to go home in the blink of an eye?” You laughed it off because you personally thought that it was so hilarious that he seemed to be so scared of you.
“Yes. Minseok was the first of us to turn, he did so in the seventeen hundreds. I don’t want to give you his entire background, I’ll let him do that one day, if he wants to. But he’s experienced a lot in life, specifically with supernatural like yourself.” You cocked your head to the side out of confusion but you let Junmyeon continue before you asked him questions. “After he was turned, everyone he knew and loved was killed by a simple shifter, like you, that was bitten by one of our kind.” He looked up to you for a response but you couldn’t bring yourself to give him one. “So, he’s afraid of you because of what you could be capable of if one of us were stupid enough to turn you.” You still gave him the confused look and he laughed at you a little. “Your blood is unbelievably irresistible. Everyone started salivating when you moved in. At first, we thought you were just one of those sweet smelling girls and, truth be told, we all fought over you.” You scoffed, no longer dumbfounded. “But when Minseok let us know you were a shifter, we all backed down, well aware of the history of your kind with our kind.”
“If we all just stay away from one another, there shouldn’t be a problem, right?”
“That would be true if we all had a grasp on ourselves. But Jongin and Yixing are only three years into being vampires. And Baekhyun and Sehun are only one year in. They all have a hard time suppressing their blood lust, especially living next door to you.” You looked away from him. “If they come here for any reason, please be careful.” You nodded but still had one question in the back of your mind.
“Did Minseok ever talk about the ‘vamp shifter’ in detail? I mean, everything I heard was a folklore and all of the details are inconsistent.”
“That’s the problem. The creature its self is unpredictable. There are some that live quietly and there are others who create chaos. Which is why I wanted to talk to you. Please, just stay away from the house, for the safety of not just us, but everyone in the city.” He stood up. “If you want to ask me anything else or you just want to talk, I’ll leave you my number.” He turned to leave your home but you stopped him.
“Wait! Why can I be around you but not any of the other older vampires?”
“I never said you could be around me. I may be older but I have it just as hard as the others. I just have more control over myself.” He paused and swallowed down the dryness in his throat. He licked his lips and turned in his heels just before his eyes could change. “See you around.”
Not being able to bug your neighbors made you quickly realize how boring this town was. You tried to convince Bennie to let you go out, to do anything, but with the chances of running into a vampire being higher than it was in your home town, she reluctantly refused.
“I would let you go but Junmyeon told me that almost one third of the occupants of this city are new vampires. I doubt they know or even care for the history of your kind and wouldn’t hesitate to feed off of you.” She gave you an apologetic look as she left your room and closed the door behind her.
You laid on your floor as the house grew unbearably silent without your sister’s random shuffling and strange exclamations when she realized something in her cases.
“I guess now would be a good time to work on my powers.” You scooted across the carpet and settled in front of the mirror. You looked at yourself without really knowing what to do until you thought about a book about shifting you had read a few weeks ago. One of the main tips was to let your body shift on its own for a full three minutes and then, starting from your toes, you change each feature one by one. The book specified that it would be difficult because your natural want is to change back all at once. But this exercise tested your patience and control, two things you really needed.
You closed your eyes after setting a timer on your phone. You felt very specific features be created and taken away and you were anxious for the outcome for some reason. You felt your shoulders broaden, your abdomen tighten and your general body felt more lean. But when you felt a rather…foreign feeling between your legs, your eyes flew open just before your timer went off.
“..what…the fuck?” You stared at your reflection and Baekhyun was staring back at you. “Of all people, why-why him? This stupid body.” You couldn’t get over what you had just done but you still thought about what the book said to do next.
“Okay, so I changed and now I change back.” You pondered on how exactly to do that and it came to you. It instructed that it was best to examine one body part at a time and think of how it should look instead of how it looks now, basically imagining your body how it typically would be in its set state.
You were doing good until you got past the knee. You could perfectly imagine how your own thighs looked but with your basketball shorts obstructing the view of your imitation leg, it was anything but easy to turn back. You thought of taking off the shorts but you remembered what was underneath them.
“Nope, to hell with this.” You willed your body to turn back but you couldn’t, you were stuck. You tried with everything in you to change back but you couldn’t. You then started to search for the book, looking in boxes that still hadn’t been unpacked. You ripped them open and eventually found it in a box filled with other random things.
You flipped through until you found the page you had folded in half. You skimmed the page and found the excerpt you thought would help.
“If one does not follow through with the execution of this lesson, they will be stuck until they resume. Please practice on a day with much t-,” your words trailed off and you felt so frustrated. You looked at his stupid face with was now your stupid face in frustration. You tried to think of ways around this but you couldn’t. As long as the body part was out of view, you would be like this for god knows how long.
“Fuck it..” you dropped your pants and stared at the mirror, eyes focused on you knee caps, making sure they hadn’t drifted upwards out of curiosity. After a few minutes, your thighs were your own once more. You furrowed your brows and your cheeks heated up at the thought of what you had to shift next. Your eyes slowly traced up your body and landed on his genitals. You gasped and tried to look away but once you looked you couldn’t rip your eyes away from the sight.
“God…”
“Impressed?” You nearly jumped out of your skin at the sound of the voice that was exactly the same as your own right now. Without a second thought, or any kind of common sense, you picked up your shorts and covered your bare bottom half. Baekhyun laughed at you and got closer to you. “Geez, I know I have an impact on people, but shifting into me just to check me out is a bit creepy, Y/N.” He shook his head in a disapproving manner.
“I wasn-! How the hell did you get in my house?!” The fact that his annoyingly whiny voice was creeping up your throat was disturbing.
“Window,” he said as if you should have known.
“Okay, better question: why are you in my fucking house? Aren’t you supposed to stay away from me because your feral or something?” His eyes showed a glimmer of red and he snarled at you a little, making you want to chuckle at his kid-like reaction.
“I’m not feral.”
“You sure seem like it, since you lost a little control because of a simple statement.”
“Says the one who is half me and half herself as we speak. Why haven’t you turned back yet? This shit is weird.” You lowered your head now, forgetting that you had to tend to your problem at hand. You were going to argue with him but it would be no used since he clearly knew something was up.
“I was practicing and I got stuck like this. There is a specific way that I have to use to turn back, so can you leave?”
“Do you have to be naked?”
“No!”
“Haha, you totally do. It’s okay, I won’t peak, but I’m not leaving, you can’t make me.” He hid his smiling face with his hands and parted his finger so he you look at you through them.
“I’ll call Junmeyon.” You held up your phone to threaten him but before you could unlock it, he sped across the room to retrieve it.
“I promise I won’t look. I’ll even close the door.” He walked out and you rushed to the door to lock it. You heard him laugh and you rolled your eyes.
You went back to the mirror and examined yourself again. After the initial shock, you were able to easily change each part of your body with ease. It took about thirty minutes to change back overall but you were sure that that wasn’t a bad time span for your first exercise. You dressed yourself and opened the door for Baekhyun.
“Can I have my phone now?” He handed it to you and you quickly shut the door and locked it again. While he knocked, you dialed Junmyeon’s number and let him know that the “feral one” was outside of your bedroom door. Within seconds he dragged the boy out of your house and scolded him for coming into your home uninvited.
“I told you to say away from her.” His voice was stern but still mostly disinterested as he walked out of your home. You opened your window to listen in to their conversation before they got into their own home.
“She smells so fucking good though. Just being around her makes me feel full.” Baekhyun talked like a love-struck man and it made you roll your eyes.
“You think I don’t know that?” Junmyeon’s voice was getting louder. “When I’m around her it feels like a fucking monster is trying to come out of me and devour her.” He looked up to you window as her neared his home. “But it’s either we stay away from her, we kill her or we change her.” He made eye contact as you swallowed air, and you were sure that they both felt how anxious you were from his words.
Baekhyun looked up to you window and directed his words to you, “Only one of those options is acceptable, I guess.”
