Not All Teachers are Bad?

My old teachers in private school were very malicious when it came to overreacting to the things I did in school. I will give you three examples or my self evaluation on how most private school teachers are mean and strict when it comes to the classroom. First, Mr.Stubenrach, a mean old teacher I used to have in high school became very irritated with me one day after I scared him in class after lunch. I remember that day in class, it was very boring while we learned all about the laws in the United States as everyone was just eagerly waiting to go to lunch. The bell rang for us to go to lunch and we all rushed to get our food happily, we finally got a break from that boring class. As time went on and the smell of old frozen lunch meals hit our nostrils it was time to head back to class. On the way back to class a couple friends and I thought it would be funny to try and scare our teacher, so I hid behind this corner in the class where the light switches were. As I’m standing there waiting for the teacher to come flip on the lights, I see him walk in so I gave him a loud yell to scare him and he threw a punch at me and got very mad and decided to throw my bag in the hallway and lock me out of the classroom to miss our quiz that I could not make up.

That is nothing like my even more evil teacher Sister Zahidah when she overreacted by giving me a ridiculous punishment for wearing my heelys to school in second grade. I was in the hallway walking with my cousin Oaday at my old Islamic school and it was time for recess. We decided that we were going to put in our wheels and skate out to recess that day. As I was following Oaday down the hallway he saw our teacher and didn’t feel the need to tell me, so he stopped skating and left me skating towards our mean teacher while he tiptoes past. Sister Zahidah got really mad when she saw me skating and stopped me and started yelling at me saying, “You need to take off your wheels right now and give them to me, you will also see me Saturday for your detention”. So you’re telling me, she gave a second grader detention for wearing wheels in his shoes and didn’t even get them back. That was a little too much for me.

Nothing could top my most outraged teacher Sister Fatima and how she gave me the most unpleasant punishment I have ever had in third grade for witnessing another student draw an inappropriate stick figure. I was in math class with my friend Abdulrahman, and I was in my chair waiting for class to start when he calls me over to see something that he drew on his paper. I walked over and looked at the paper and it was a very inappropriate stick figure with extra body parts, but at the moment it was very funny as child as I begin to let the laughter out of my chest. Sister Fatima walked over and started yelling at us even though I had nothing to do with the situation. As she yelled at us with her voice cracking she tells us that we have detention on Saturday, but not only that, we had to stand up in front of the whole class as she made us carry all of her heavy teacher edition math books with our arms fully extended out and we were not allowed to drop them. All I could think was this was the worst punishment they could give a third grader as the tears on my face were running quick off of my nose. If I learned anything from all these experiences it was that I had to be tough in life because I knew these were not the only mean teachers I was going to have.

In conclusion, I’ve come to the self evaluation that in my personal experiences private school teachers, especially those three are more anal and strict when it comes to school ruling and people should not take advantage of the teachers in public schools that may seem bad because they could be a lot worse, but when you get the rhythm of school it makes it way easier.
