I feel extraordinarily blessed to be able to share this weekend; the one weekend of the year I spend 6 months prepping for, with this amazing man! It has been 7 years going strong, we have vended NY Sheep and Wool, and almost all of them, he, has been along for the ride. He takes one whole week off of vacation time to help me vend; but if you ask him, he will tell you, “I’m just here to support her, …and help lift the heavy stuff.” My husband y’all- he does so much more. So I seriously wanted to give a huge, and loud shout out to the man who gifted me the time to build this business, while he solely supported our family, came to events to help me vend, and cheered who me on when I needed it! We do this together. We do this as a team. Husband and wife- software engineer and hand dyer / knitwear designer. We are blessed. And we are so extremely grateful for all of you. Short Local in the Snow by Erie Limited Via Flickr: The sun is setting on a frigid January day as NYS&W WS-1 approaches the State Street crossing in Hackensack with two newsprint boxcars in tow. These cars were once a common sight on area railroads, as most major newspapers had rail-served plants spread throughout the region. Most of whatever limited newsprint business remains is now handled by truck. I assume those cars would soon be spotted at the Bergen Record plant just a few blocks east of this location.

it was a lot of fun!

i wore this to it and honestly it was the most validating experience i think I've had when it comes to my crochet bc a few people took photos of me [with or without me knowing i think lol] and a lot stopped and talked to me about it and i was very happy and honestly gave me the confidence to do something next year! idk how to see the photos they took lol maybe it's in a rhinebeck tag somewhere

but i always love going to NYSW and even tho it was cloudy and stuff, and a lil rainy at times, i wouldn't miss it for anything!

SU-100 at RO by Erie Limited Via Flickr: A short SU-100 passes the Rochelle Park freight house behind SD45s 3620 and 6366. Rochelle Park station is just out of view to the right and had yet to be restored as the NYS&W Southern Division headquarters. 6366 would wear BN green paint until being sold to Montana Rail Link in the mid-90s. If repainted, it would have become NYS&W 3616, but that number would go unused. The former eastbound main track was still intact at this time but was only lightly used, primarily as a switching lead.

September 10, 1976. The little railroad, Susquehanna was one of the first railroads to dieselize back in the late 40's. The #252 was built 10/1947, and was Mu-able. All even numbered units Mu'ed, and odd number units did not.
