ft. @viiktorious ( my absolute favorite take on viktor, in the sense that no one else could ever really compare. i think you write him so well when it would be so easy for him to be very oversimplified, and one of the most pleasant surprises of this year - at least so far - has been you bringing him back to the dash ! ), @hoggleswart ( i don't know how well documented my 'sarah shahi deserves to be used more in the rpc' movement is here in nox, but i have been leading that charge for so many years and i was already so invested in roshana before you ticked all my favorite boxes in a character. i love ocs connected to existing canons in ways other than siblings or children, and i'm always a sucker for someone achingly sad ! ), @hcldmybroom ( not unlike the above, i have been wanting ambika to become the next big thing for so long that i, again, was always predisposed to loving a character using her ! there is so much - so far - untapped potential for drama with minette that makes me gleeful, and i really, really enjoy what i have seen of them so far ! ), @chacswins ( this guy is always gonna hurt my heart, and i'm always gonna be way more into that than i should be</3 you and sam are neck to neck in my personal 'most anticipated returns' list, and i'm so happy to be able to play around with you in all the angsty ways i've grown to love playing around with you in over the years of friendship and development we've had ! i'm so fond of damien in a way i think doesn't get expressed enough, and so grateful that his existence has provided me with 1. a whole character, in luca and 2. so many new layers for other characters ! ), @tosteelisms ( cara macdonald, my beloved, i am so glad that someone has finally given you a chance to thrive when you have so deserved it for so long ! she's one of my most adored creations, here, and i am so glad that i was able to entrust her into such capable hands ! you came into nox swinging, and i have loved seeing her form ! ), @acritudos ( last, but not at all least. theo nott was talked about at such length for so long that it would have been so easy for him to lose momentum but. of course. that was never going to happen in your hands. he is everything i've always dreamed of and more in terms of all the various dynamics i always wanted - with pansy, with the slytherin gang as a whole, with astoria, with ginny. with everyone, really ! - and of course it would be you that would give me those goods. how on earth could i expect any differently ! as always, i feel very lucky to write with you and develop such complex connections with you, and i hope that never changes<3 ) !

@woesbegone.   i  cannot  stress  enough  how  hard  it  was  for  me  to  pick  just  one  of  our  dynamics  because  honestly    …    i’m  obsessed  with  them  all!  a  very,  very  honourable  mention  to  ginny  &  arthur,  niko  &  ezekiel,  luca  &  ezekiel,  seamus  &  mary,  marcus  &  pansy,  justin  &  astoria,  andie  &  arturo  and  oskar  &  eliza  who  absolutely  also  got  considered,  but  ultimately  i  went  with  these  two  because  i  genuinely  just    …    love  how  naturally  these  two  flow,  bond,  etc.  they’ve  both  been  through  it!  they  both  continue  to  go  through  it!  but  they’re  really,  really  trying  their  best,  and  i  think  they  just  get  that  about  each  other.  i’m  easily  attached  to  the  concept  of  two  people  who  have  been  very  fucked  up  by  their  past  kinda  gravitating  towards  each  other  with  a  silent  understanding.  i  know  the  connection  was  initially  built  on  a  previous  connection  (julius  crabbe<3),  but  i  feel  like  overtime,  we’ve  established  their  own  footing  and  they  just  make  me  smile. 

@rebuildeds.   this  was  almost  marcus  &  tempest,  because  the  way  tempest  eats  marcus  alive  every  time  they  try  to  start  a  war  they  can’t  finish  is  a  constant  amusement,  and  then  i  went  what  about  lavender  &  tempest?  or  seamus  &  dudley?  but  in  the  end,  it  was  impossible  for  me  not  to  choose  justin    &    tempest.  this  dynamic  is  so  special  to  me.  sometimes  they’re  fun,  currently  they’re  angsty.  the  way  i  naturally  adore  tempest  anyway  makes  it  easy  for  justin  to  also  be  a  lil  besotted  with  them,  but  tie  it  in  with  the  new  vibe  of  momentarily  bonded  by  trauma  and  we  always  have  so  much  to  unpack.  i  really  enjoy  them. 

@bemyhcro.   i  know  this  is  a  relatively  new  connection  we’re  still  exploring,  but  i’m  already  very  !!!  about  them.  bringing  together  two  people  that  have  been  completely  fucked  by  the  narrative  turning  against  them?  it’s  the  best  ingredient  for  a  deliciously  complicated  dynamic.  the  kind  that’s  almost    …    would  we  even  be  pals  if  we  weren’t  bound  by  this  one  deep,  dark  secret  we  have  in  common?  probably  not,  but  here  we  are!  and  that’s  such  a  great  trope.  i  love  unlikely  confidants.  there’s  so  many  potential  directions  they  can  end  up  going  in  and  i  can’t  wait  to  help  it  all  unfold.  

@taciiturns    &    @monstrovs.   i  couldn’t  let  this  meme  pass  without  giving  the  biggest  shout  -  out  to  everybody’s  favourite  karkaroffs.  i  think  i  speak  for  us  all  when  i  say  what  a  delight  it  is  to  read  these  two  interacting.  the  karkaroff  family  as  a  whole  are  such  an  insanely  talented  concept,  but  these  two  in  particular?  i’m  always  fascinated  by  them.  i  always  have  so  much  fun  reading  their  threads,  their  texts,  learning  more  about  how  they  are  with  each  other.  there’s  never  a  dull  moment  and  you  two  bring  both  niko    &    kaela  such  depth,  such  character,  such    …    everything.  i  don’t  really  have  the  words  to  put  down  how  much  i  love  these  two,  but  i  really,  really,  really,  really  just  do.

GWEN  DURAND  as  played  by  lex  (  on  auroratms  ). lex, where do i even begin and how can i possibly stop when it comes to how much i love you as a person, how much i love your characters and how truly lucky i am to get to have so much of them and of you :( i feel like you are always making an appearance on these things, but it’s because every time they roll around i have something new to shout from the rooftops about, and this time is absolutely no different ! i’ve only had gwen for a short time, but if anything were to ever happen to her, i would kill every character in aurora and then nox, too, in retribution -  she’s so special as a character, and i am so blessed to have gotten so many unique connections with her right off the bat. it’s tough because i also feel like i HAVE to yell about felicity because the grace / henry ship sailing in aurora is one of my favorite things to have come from the au of it and i also feel as if kaela would be a valid choice for all the arturo development i’ve been given and grace, as hande’s tragic ex bestie, is also so important and so well written but- you get the picture ! it’s impossible to choose just one, and gwen only won by the narrowest margin of being a character who i never could’ve anticipated but am so glad exists now, because cordelia wouldn’t be the same and ronan wouldn’t even exist ! god. i just love you a lot ! i hope you know this ! i’ll say it every single day anyways ! and thank you so much for everything, always ! 

GREGORY  GOYLE  as  played  by  m. i am, i will admit it, a sucker for slytherins. i wasn’t when i started nox ! i will also admit this ! i was very normal about them and even disliked the vast majority both because of canon and because of fanon, but oh. boy. nox has taught me that if the opportunity is there and the writer is willing, slytherins - especially the canons - are always gonna end up being the most interesting, heart wrenching characters of the bunch. greg’s no different, and i didn’t ever expect that ! he’s not a popular character for people to snatch up, and when they do they don’t tend to play him as complex as you do, m - the fact that you do and have made it so that i care about him and want to see how this whole mess of a life turns out for him is so cool, and as with everyone else on this list. i’m so glad i get to write with you and see some of that unravelling of his character in real time ! you’re such a talented writer, m, and i’m so glad that you’re here and i hope i get to do loads more with you as the next months pass us by ! 

KNOX  BELLAMY  as  played  by  gabi. gabi, my beloved<3 i have done these backwards, so i’ve mentioned below - it was part of my process to go back and make sure i hadn’t done any of my final picks for this anniversary’s meme before, and i was genuinely kinda shocked that knox hadn’t made an appearance before, from me. i really, really like her as a character, and i think you do such a great job writing her ! it’s tough to have an oc in an rp where canon ( and fanon ideas ) can sometimes feel a bit stifling, even tougher i think to have only an oc to play with, but you’ve managed to slot knox in so well and she’s definitely one of those characters where. like. it’s sometimes kind of tough to tell she wasn’t always there ! i get such a laugh out of her antics ( i hope you know this, it’s my favorite running gag ) and i always enjoy when we get to write together, and i hope we get to do plenty more of that between now and the next anniversary ! <3 

OSKAR  CATCHLOVE  as  played  by  ziggy. you had so many characters i was itching to talk about, but i feel as if it was always going to end up being oskar because - and idk if i have said this enough lately - he’s very close to my heart, being one of the most KEY eliza connections i knew i would need to have longterm muse for the ideas i had for her. it was looking grim for a little while there, but you really came through in picking him up ( which i really appreciate ) and more than that, you made him a character that just CLICKS with who eliza is perfectly, which is a really hard thing to do with connections such as these. i have gotten such enjoyment out of the threads they’ve had thus far because the replies always come very naturally to me and the rapport between them is so very, very clear. that’s also really tough to do ! not just for you but for me, if the character wasn’t perfect, or the connection wasn’t shaking out right ! and with you it is, and with oskar it is, and i really hope we get our kid soon so that we can throw them into the mix too and get even more chaotic with them, because i’m sure they have it within them ! 

TEMPEST  CLEARWATER  as  played  by  vicky. ohhh tempest ! a part of my process when i was narrowing down my list of possibilities for this anniversary’s six characters was going back and just making sure i wasn’t doubling up anywhere, and part of why i felt i had to go back was because i thought i’d already taken a second to praise tempest ! and as it turns out ! i had not ! their return to the nox dash on the heels of their elder sister’s murder - bummer - definitely feels like a good time to throw a little spotlight over them, because vicky ... they are genuinely fascinating, as a character. they go against the grain for what you expect of a clearwater, for one ( and so did penny ), but they also go against what you would expect of a lestrange lovechild, and i really enjoy that about them. you took two different families which could’ve gone in an all number of worn out ways and you made them so new and exciting, and i really cannot stress enough how delighted i am that they - and you ! - are back, and i get to watch what you do with them now ! 

PORTIA  MALFOY  as  played  by  mozzie  (  on  auroratms  ). before i get into this, i just wanna say - it is tough to pick one of your characters. i was really settled on alecto because i LOVE everything that i get to do with her ( jot that down ), and then it was blaise - again - because of just how much i have enjoyed our baby journey, and then it was isidora because i still intend on picking up their brother and i was getting myself mildly excited about it, and then. finally. it hit me. i knew it had to be portia, because like. i don’t know if this’ll be WEIRD to say, but it was such a huge. trust moment ! to let somebody else in on the malfam ! and when i knew it was going to be you, i didn’t even have an ounce of concern or worry. i just knew you were going to get it, and that you were going to get it better than anyone aside from probably emily, and that the weasley malfoy’s were going to gain a whole new level of insight and really level up as a connection as thanks to having you involved with them. and that was right ! that’s exactly what happened ! i feel so incredibly lucky that like. years on, now, i get to not only be your friend but i also get to create this incredible multilayered connections with you that always make me think in ways i haven’t, before, and you having portia is just. idk. does it make sense to call her like. a sign of our love ? :(

aka. sam rambles like an idiot about her love and appreciation for some characters within noxtms ... this is only a very short list, because frankly i love them all.

i'm gonna be very honest here and admit that i had such a hard time choosing between all your characters. i had a little preliminary list that i was intending to narrow down but then you posted that one question about fenrir greyback and lavender suddenly just jumped out to the very top ! i just ... LOVE your take on her, genuinely. i don't think i see enough of the 'actually my past / trauma DID leave a mark on me [ a tangible and ever-present one in her case ] and it changed me and i'm bitter about it' trope on the rpc ... not well done anyways, but you ... you've done it beautifully ! and with a character that is often played in a very different way. it's such a funky fresh touch. i want you to know i eat up every single one of your lavender replies, i love love love her. <3 ( @hoggleswart ) okay so maybe i cheated a little bit adding both of your characters here ... i would like to not make any comments about it, your honor. <3 but can ANYONE blame me ?! tempest and dudley are SO widely different and amazingly crafted. i just ... couldn't choose. i often forget that the way you play them is all your personal take ... especially with dudley, my mind already replaces him with your version in canon / fanon verses. seeing them on the dash it's always a little treat that i will indulge in no matter what i'm doing. ( @rebuildeds ) the first time i read her bio it made me feel very 😔 poor girl has gone through so much since a young age, and even though it did left its mark she's still ... so sweet, and has this huge bubbly personality that you have no choice but to love her !! every single one of the interactions that include her have been so refreshing to see and with that in mind i can't wait to see how you develop her even further and how she grows within the rp !! <3 ( @hcldmybroom ) kaela<3 is probably on my top three favorite characters i've had the joy to see you play and the blessing to interact with. i feel like it'd have been very easy to fall down the 'mean one-dimensional character' hole but of course that was never gonna happen with you as her writer !! i'm always amazed by your firm grasp on her personality and actions, and how easy it is for you to just know. kaela is so unique and interesting, i can only imagine how much fun you have playing her but i can say it is so so amazing to watch her<3 ( @taciiturns ) rachel you were also someone i had such a hard time choosing a single character for ... you have so many gems in nox and i've been blessed to see the ones you've had even outside of nox too !! your mind and talent never ceases to amaze me. your way with words is stunning and it's why i always say your mind is so sexy !! i feel like in this case it just had to be ginny, the first one within nox<3 you've made her your own in a very especial way that i think your version IS now canon in my mind, no matter what anyone says. the one and only ginny weasley, best one ever in the entirety of the rpc !! CARROW     TWINS     SENTENCED     TO     LIFE     IN     AZKABAN          !

it   was   hardly   the   first   of   a   number   of   revelatory   trials   to   come,   and   it   most   certainly   will   not   be   the   last,   but   victims   of   alecto   &   amycus   carrow’s   reign   of   terror   at   hogwarts   school   of   witchcraft   &   wizardry   can   rest   easy   this   evening   knowing   that   the   pair,   both   aged   thirty-five,   were   sentenced   to   life   in   azkaban   this   afternoon.   their   trial   was   short   &   swift      —   -      both   remain   known   associates   and   followers   of   he   who   shall   not   be   named,   &   played   crucial   roles   in   the   battle   of   hogwarts.   this   reporter   is   confident   that   the   list   of   charges   not   laid   against   mr.   &   mx.   carrow   is   shorter   than   the   ones   they   faced      —   -      including,   but   not   limited   to,   murder,   grievous   bodily   harm,   repeated   use   of   unforgiable   curses,   child   torture,   &   endangering   the   lives   of   children.   in   a   bizarre   turn   of   events,   mr.   carrow   plead   neither   guilty   nor   innocent,      &      instead   chose   to   remain,   for   the   most   part,   silent.  

mr.   &   mx.   carrow   rose   to   infamy   in   2014,   upon   being   appointed   deputy   headmasters   of   hogwarts   school   of   witchcraft   &   wizardry   under   the   newly-minted   headmaster   severus   snape   (   who,   himself,   has   no   clean   history   ).   prior   to   their   dual   appointment,   mr.   &   mx.   carrow   taught   at   hogwarts;   whilst   mx.   carrow   taught   muggle   studies   (   a   version   thereof   ),   her   brother   taught   a   highly-modified   defence   against   the   dark   arts,   later   renamed   just   dark   arts.   however,   it   was   their   time   as   deputy   headmasters   that   will   forever   stain   hogwarts’   history.   not   only   was   violence   tacitly   encouraged,   it   was   indulged   by   professors   themselves;   dozens   of   anonymous   students   came   forth   with   stories   of   the   carrows’   rampant   cruelty   throughout   the   2014   school   year.   [   editor’s   note:   whilst   many   of   these   students   made   it   clear   that   they   were   comfortable   with   their   stories   being   published,   we   at   the   daily   prophet   found   them   too   harrowing   for   everyday   reading.   ]  

during   his   trial,   mr.   carrow   appeared   remarkably   unphased   by   the   charges   laid   against   him.   repeatedly   leaning   forth,   rolling   his   eyes   at   his   sister,      &      making   highly   flirtatious,   highly   inappropriate   comments,   he   appeared   to   raise   no   arguments   in   his   defence;   instead,   he   appeared   to   invite   multiple   members   of   the   wizengamot   to   bed   with   him,   in   a   move   that   will   boggle   the   minds   of   any   rational   readers.   the   chief   warlock   remained   thoroughly   un-seduced;   the   wizengamot,   in   their   utmost   judicial   wisdom,   voted   unanimously   to   sentence   the   pair   to   life   with   no   possibility   of   parole.  

“they’re   monsters.   utter   monsters,”   one   relieved   victim   wept   when   informed   of   the   news.   “it’s   about   time   they   paid   for   what   they   did   to   us.   to   all   of   us.   they   ought   to   be   tortured   every   day   for   the   rest   of   their   lives,   and   it   still   wouldn’t   be   enough.”
