Should I be in bed clonked out? Yes, but did inspiration to write SOMETHING before I forget it due to this wondrous thing called sleep. Anyways this mini ficlet stars dun dun- dun dundundun dun- the wonderful soul whom provides us with such wonderful one shots and fanfics involving characters we don't get to see in the movies, tv series or game's- I present @clonewarslover55 and their lovely character verda tal rose! This was inspired after I was reading a post on a follower of their's asking what their character would expect with a daughter in law who married one of her boy's, technically walon Vau's but she considers the lads her son's if i'm recalling correctly anywho onwards to the reading!! I feel i might've overdone certain things, so do please forgive me here .
I also couldn't find anything on rose's height, but I'll assume she close to vau in how tall she is while kat's height is technically my height is 5'6ft tall, plus many people I know tower over me making me look like a gosh darned toothpick or a teddy bear to be held. if there is a note on her height forgive me for that mix up
______
Kat blinked as she looked to her mother in law over her shoulder then at the blade that she had acquired "You stole a knife...for me?" She questioned with confusion as she paused with her question while stirring some vegetables and meats in a soup she was cooking, Kat in that moment could remember the time's her own buire had gifted her blades after noticing her eye a few while growing up even after she'd passed her verd'goten up to her year's of becoming the woman she is today.
The memories were rather fond ones held near and dear to her heart, even still having the many and yet beautifully crafted blades she often used on hunts. Call her sentimental, but she loves those blades and after contemplating gifting a child, if she ever has any kid's a blade from her collection.
Now that she could think about it, she still often found herself flustered when it came from getting gifts from others.
Noticing Rose's nod to the blade held out in her hand Kat shifts away from the stove and her pot, shooting a nasty look at her friend- a fellow huntress she's known since she was a foundling of her clan from childhood takes over as she then gave Kat a teasing look that had her mentally wishing she could punch her smug face.
However Kat stamped down hard on her temper while in the kitchenette, there was no need for an 'accident' to happen to her friend besides Kat knew she could get her friend back later on and if she couldn't karma would come back and bite her friend in the ass.
With Kat's attention now focused on her mother in law she smiles albeit softly and barely noticeable. Which made her look much softer then when her resting bitch face is on.
Rose, having taken Kat under her wing to help train the young mandalorian woman more in the bounty hunter trade with Kat sarcastically remarking that 'greeds the creed' one day. Came to learn that the soft smiles and laughter with a snort were genuine when she did so, chuckling a bit Rose smiled at her in a way that reminded the young huntress of her own mother's smile before she took off on a hunt that would keep her away from home.
"Yeah, I saw it and thought it looked beautiful- like you!" rose says nonchalantly shrugging her shoulders still smiling, as if stealing knives for your daughter in laws was a normal thing-
'But maybe it was and I just didn't know it? Or maybe it was an unspoken tradition rose has created?' She thinks to herself, however she wasn't gonna be the one to question Rose's way of going about things when she herself would sound like a hypocrite since she's done the same thing in the past after leaving home for the life of a bounty hunter.
Meeting verda tal rose, her mother in law after being with her lover for some time nearing the end of the clone wars was jarring and for a moment she swore now that she knew what her boyfriend- future husband had felt after meeting with her parents, ori'vode and her ba'buire.
The latter her ba'buir who was at that time goran had taken a shine to the commando clone, much to Kat's relief.
Her Ori'vode on the other hand was the one she had to literally track down for the two to meet, as his comm device was destroyed. Now for once in her life she couldn't help but feel more thankful for her buire putting trackers on them when they were ade who often found themselves caught up in trouble- that hunt did however offer some practice that was much needed in tracking.
She couldn't really bring herself to regret scaring her ori'vod though, not one bit despite the scolding she had later gotten from their buire over comm for technically raiding his ship and forcing him to sit still enough to meet his new brother in law.
Her boyfriend then husband now had found that whole ordeal funny when he heard that comm call, regularly bringing it up to tease her about it until she had to kiss the stupid taunting look off his face leaving him a breathless and blushing mess infront of his brother's.
All of which jumped to tease him, a "big bad clone commando turned into red mush over a kiss" to which kal who had mercy on the young man, had them disperse and cease the brotherly banger over his partner Kat.
Shaking those memories from her mind she feels flustered about even getting a gift, even if it truly is a beautiful knife.
One she'd definitely use on her next hunt with her team and hopefully her newfound aliit on their next hunt "it is beautiful....wait isn't this from that one shop?" Rose laughs happily at her amazement while the twenty year old carefully takes it from Rose's hand to inspect the blade, giving a few twirls and spins as while watching as it moves like it would when she used her sabers.
Rose grins even more watching her daughter in law show skill with blades like she, herself does.
The moment reminded kat of her buir- Sparta and her ba'buir when she had passed her verd'goten.
The pure unbridled joy mixed with pride. Rose, as Kat could sense even with the beskar'gam muffling it, was very pleased that the younger girl seemed to adore her new gift after inspecting it.
"I'll put it to good use then and to that i vow"
Before moving around the kitchenettes bar after holstering the gift to her hip as she went in to hug the black red armored huntress as the gesture is returned, comically enough to rose however as Kat barely reached the taler women even with her wearing her heeled boots. All while pouting as the woman's dark auburn hair that was tied in her usual braid tickled her face.
Kat sighs as she relaxes before speaking once more "I love it, Vor'e buir", thanking her for the blade.
Deep down to her very core, Rose is glad her boys are settling down. She might not have been able to have raise her daughter into an adult as a strong independent young woman like she wanted. But rose does her best to be a motherly figure and mentor to the few people in her life.
"Your welcome kat'ika" rose murmurs stepping back and taking the younger mandalorian's face in her hands, cupping her cheeks with a more gentler smile "your my daughter in law now, so you shouldn't feel out of place…okay? Haran you even got mird AND vau to like you and that says something" Her words are hushed and kind yet stern and honest as kat's eye's water a bit all while nodding.

Time to crash and burn, see y'all gods know when will
My internal muse was rather pushy that i atleast finish and post something writing wise so here we are, me debating cracking open a mean bean or clonking out atm. Enjoy-
Again I'll say sorry if it's cringe or i got your character personality wrong I did my best though! 😅😅
My mando'a ain't the best either since my hyper fixation of star wars is going down the drain (I love it still, but I'm not as passionate as before)
Edit: in my sleep depraved mind I missed a few error in my writing so I had to double back and fix those real quick-

Alright let's imagine a scene that is all too normal in palestine. A palestinian business owner finds his building covered in graffiti stars of Davids and Hebrew that says "gas the arabs" and "death to arabs"
Now imagine there's a reporter there and asks the palestinian business owner what happens and they say "the jews attacked my business"
Pause. Now your response might be "uncle no. Say israelis not jews" and then this is when he would look at you like youre stupid because the israelis doing this are jewish. They are not the Christians or the druze or the palestinian ones with Israeli citizenship. They are Jewish israelis who believe in their religious supremacy. When you graffiti stars of david all over a palestinian business, car, or the street you seek that conflation. it sends a message, this is jewish land and you're next.
The problem is that these videos circulate in zionist circles. "Watch this video of children in gaza calling for the death of jews" "watch how they say they want to fight and kill jews" those children are referring to Israeli soldiers that come in night and do their raids with the star of David attached to their uniform or the ones that bomb them. It's easy to watch those videos and assume that palestinians are indoctrinating their children on anti semitism or you can realize that those children's only interaction with jewish ppl is through violence and parents cannot protect their children from this. Doesn't matter context is lost
Abby Martin went to Jerusalem and interviewed israelis for 2 hours and she says every israeli was extremely confident to say that this land is for them and that they should push the Arabs out and when she interviewed palestinians they spoke of freedom from occupation and their dreams. That's reality. Not the soundbites.
And yet we have invasive youtubers and interviewers constantly in the street of ramallah or wherever in palestine asking palestinians "do you hate jews?" And in those videos you hear those palestinians say "no we have no problem with jews we have a problem with occupation and we have a problem with zionism." Bc this is how we are trained to respond to this trope. Palestinians are very aware what the world thinks of us and the reality is that many palestinians have internalized it and we grow up reading books on the Holocaust and train ourselves to recognize anti semitic dog whistles so zionists don't get the soundbites they want.
So we say "anti zionism is not anti semitism" and we say "israeli zionists" and we do not say "jewish supremacy" even thought it exists in palestine but "zionist supremacy" and in these carefully worded speech we water down what is happening to us in an effort to not deter people away from solidarity. But it means nothing. The world categorically blames palestinians for rising anti semitism they blame us for jewish insecurity globally.
