Alright well...who had "Making A Brave New World/The Matrix a reality instead of giving people access to free/affordable and nonpredatory higher education, living wages, affordable housing, access to food, free health care, as well as providing a path to fulfilling career and make schools safe and affordable to grant a safe place to raise a child" for 2022?

Violation of Virginia administrative code 4VAC15-20-50. -va
Aha, but you see....there are exceptions.
4VAC15-30-40. Importation requirements, possession, and sale of nonnative (exotic) animals.
A. Permit required. A special permit is required and may be issued by the department, if consistent with the department's fish and wildlife management program, to import, possess, or sell those nonnative (exotic) animals listed in the following table and in 4VAC15-20-210 that the board finds and declares to be predatory or undesirable within the meaning and intent of § 29.1-542 of the Code of Virginia, in that their introduction into the Commonwealth will be detrimental to the native fish and wildlife resources of Virginia. . . . I do not wish to link the entire table, but the only arthropods listed in the chart are those of order Decapoda, various crustaceans including crayfish and, for some reason, the Chinese mitten crab, which I was unaware of as a problem invasive species until this moment. The document continues as follows... J. All other nonnative (exotic) animals. All other nonnative (exotic) animals not listed in subsection A of this section may be possessed, purchased, and sold; provided, that such animals shall be subject to all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including those that apply to threatened/endangered species, and further provided, that such animals shall not be liberated within the Commonwealth. In addition, there are county or city-specific exotics laws in Blacksburg, Fairfax, Franklin, Gloucester, Manassas, Petersburg, and others which become too numerous to name. What one will notice, with some digging, is that Lexington, where I am currently located, does not have any specific city or county mandates to prevent the keeping of tarantulas, as § 29.1-542 refers to vertebrate animals.
§ 29.1-542. Importation.
Live wolves or coyotes, or birds and animals otherwise classed as predatory or undesirable, may not be imported into the Commonwealth or liberated therein, or possessed therein, except under a special permit of the Board. Nonpredatory birds, animals or fish may be imported, but upon arrival in the Commonwealth, shall be subject to the laws governing the possession of such birds, animals and fish in Virginia. Any person may bring into the Commonwealth, either in his personal possession or as his baggage, on the same conveyance with him and plainly labeled or tagged with his name and address, game and fish legally taken in another state or foreign country, but in no greater quantity than he could legally possess while in such other state or foreign country. Nothing in this section shall be construed as applying to birds, animals and fish being transported in unbroken packages from beyond the confines of Virginia through the Commonwealth to another state.
Code 1950, § 29-158; 1977, c. 377; 1982, c. 73; 1987, c. 488.
And since there is no state law nor county nor city law that governs arachnids specifically... I am a -perfectly- law abiding citizen as a collector and occasional breeder of tarantulas. Haha.

You know what’s a really good confidence booster? When I haven’t showered in two days cause I’ve been car camping, and still get two guys to start up conversations with me and ask how long I’m staying in town for. And then I got the locals discount when checking out! (Honestly tho where are my cute lesbians shooting their shot, they’re the ones who have a better chance of me changing travel plans)

i know why people would be sketched out by that but it does like more good than harm to have that information just out there and accessible like the right to dna privacy or w/e is, not to sound like a child, stupid and fake literally any kind of eugenics that might happen already happens with less advanced means and the pros are stopping serial killers and serial rapists, bringing families broken by forced adoption back together, finding cures for hereditary diseases, tracking the true hazardous effects of commerical waste, studying the effects of social damage to dna and the safe, nonpredatory medical treatments and all thats impossible without an open and free database on human genetic information

Astian Bestiary
Savagewing: More human sized form with four arms, two sets of swan wings, and two dicks. The first human-based form to take inspiration and features from a human other than Vaelon; their curls and facial features favor Leonas. The face has a ‘swan mask’ of darker lines; the ears are shaped like moth wings, and the head comes adorned with feathery antennae. They tend to come in delicate floral shades, and have named themselves thusly. (Known named: Violet, Rose, Marigold, Buttercup.)
Impyr: Tall, daunting, and attractive satyr-types with large, curling horns on their heads. The hooves are impressively big, enough to forestall any attempts at wearing pants; the preferred couture tends to be skirts and dresses, frequently with bell décor. The legs are quite mountain goaty, with long shaggy fur. There are clawed hands and sharp teeth, still, despite the theoretically nonpredatory base. Created to launch himself between Vaelon and Lynette when she was upset. The first form to kill another of the Light trio. Tend to name themselves after stones. (Known named of ten: Obsidian, Sapphire, Rubellite.)
Drakonis: Alternatively, Biggest Boy. Roughly dragon-shaped, but with “too many legs, too many eyes, wings too wide for a body too long” (Ch. 20). Created to help Vaelon and Lynette storm the Imperial Aekhite stronghold. Only one known to exist, the Black Drakonis, and also the only known female monster. Drew personality from Karzarul’s respect for Lynette, which is incredibly heartbreaking, to be honest.
Abysscales: They are just sexy, horny mermen. They have long, heavily scaled fish tails with hidden tentacles tucked under, which are much more delicate and function as genitalia. They live in pods in the ocean, which is a socially-acceptable way to say they have underwater orgies more or less constantly. Tend to name themselves with light-related descriptors. (Known named: Glimmering, Coruscating, Resplendent, Luminous, Dappled.)
Tauril: Alternatively, Big Boy. “Most feared monster in all of Astielle.” (Ch. 1) Centaur-like build, but instead of having the body of a horse, it’s a bull, and the man’s torso is sized up appropriately, which is to say, massive. The heads are adorned with bull’s horns, as well, which are impossibly hard (can only be carved with magic) and prized for use in weaponry. Very strong, enough that an arrow pulled by one can “drive straight through the trunk of a tree” (Ch. 1). The size of said tree in unspecified, which really only makes them sound stronger. Very fast, enough to outstrip most horses. Created by Karzarul to save his comrades from falling canyons. Tend to name themselves in descriptors. They have deep, pleasant voices, the first form to have such. (Known named: Reckless, Tenacious, Rugged, Indominable, Immovable.)
Bullizard: A bipedal lizard form, scaled and with human-shaped hands, as well as being roughly human-sized. They have stubby horns of unspecified shape on their heads. (Known named: Red.)
Ursbat: An enormous grizzly bear-type with large fangs and tiny, unusable bat wings.
Shimmerbat: A tiny, fluffy bat form with glittering fur. Quite adorable.
Shadestalker: A large, panther-esque body, larger than a Howler, with “bigger teeth and bigger claws” (Ch. 19), and a snake for a tail. Created because the Howler form was ineffective at fighting dogs wielded by bandits.
Rootboar: Alternatively, Itty Piggy. A small orb-shaped pig with a flower on the head, complete with a curly tail. They are truly unbearably adorable. Created to bring life to a doodle done by Vaelon, who was casually depicting an Entboar in plans.
Entboar: Alternatively, Biggy Piggy. A “house-sized wild boar was also somewhat a tree” (Ch. 19). Created to assist Lynette in defeating some brigands she became annoyed by.
Misthawk: A fast, large bird with many eyes: six on the head and a large one on middle of the stomach. Created for hardy and speedy scouting.
Slitherskin: A form somewhere between snake and jewelry. Created to allow quiet entry into human cities. Sparkly.
Howler: A very large wolf form. Created to assist Lynette in protecting Vaelon from bandits.
Brutelings: first form of the King of All Monsters, created to give himself form so as not to be left behind by Vaelon. “’It looks like a cat fucked a pervert,’” (Ch. 18). Big, translucent cat ears ended in wispy tufts of pointed fur; another tuft in the middle of their foreheads, but otherwise hairless. They have bulging big eyes and a muzzle halfway between feline and human, short fingers with clawed tips, and are roughly child-sized. They have very many very sharp teeth. They have awful scratchy little voices, but their personalities tend towards curious and affectionate and childlike, which helps quite a lot in making them closer to adorable than horrible. Come in cat’s-coat colors, such as tabby-striped, tuxedo, cow print, and solid. Unknown if they take on calico and tortishell, which are extremely rarely on male cats. (Known named: Tabby, Socks, Midnight/Spot.)
this is so thorough, i love it 💙

I really liked the answer to that person's question on what woman Angelina would like! what about Rachel's preferences in women? maybe Irene?
Hi, anon! I headcanon Rachel as bi with a very strong preference for men, so I typically see her in a poly relationship with Vincent and Diedrich. As a result, I don’t think she’d be compatible with most of the Kuro ladies...but an improved version of Nina Hopkins (i.e. nonpredatory and not written based on harmful lesbian stereotypes) might fit the bill.
Even though Rachel had a frail, delicate constitution due to her asthma, she wasn’t a demure little milksop. The brief glimpses we get of her suggest that she was a vibrant, warm-hearted woman. Plus, not every lady would have what it takes to be the wife of the Queen’s Watchdog. Although Vincent tried to shield his family from the unsavory aspects of his jobs, I imagine Rachel must have seen some shit during her marriage with Vin...maintaining a happy relationship in the midst of that would require great inner strength. Therefore, I think Rachel could love a woman with a dark side, and would welcome someone with a clever mind and complex personality.
Although Nina is obviously more able-bodied and more willing to defy Victorian gender norms by being a career woman, Rachel might be attracted to her bold, frank manner— Nina has the sort of presencethat fills the room. Since Hopkins tailors have worked for the Phantomhives for generations, Nina would have a better understanding than most of the struggles Rachel might face in her everyday life. Also, visits to the tailor’s would provide the perfect cover for romantic rendezvous. 😏
In general, Rachel would probably appreciate a woman who was kind, nurturing, and willing to accommodate her medical condition, but who also had a good sense of humor and love of life.
I hope that answers your question! ☺️

How to start a platform co-op
Tumblr media
The problem with the gig economy isn't that it makes it easy for workers, customers and businesses to find each other: it's that the platforms are parasitic grifts who ruin everyone, lose money, and get flogged off to suckers during the IPO.
https://pluralistic.net/2020/05/18/code-is-speech/#schadenpizza
There's a better way: "platform co-operativism," in which workers clone the apps - a trivial task - and then turn them into nonpredatory, worker-owned businesses that support the real economy instead of annihilating it to enrich Saudi oil families.
https://pluralistic.net/2020/05/18/code-is-speech/#platform-cooperatvism
The biggest co-op success story is Spain's Mondragon Co-Op. They've teamed up with NYU's New School (which has a major platform co-op project) and the Institute for the Cooperative Digital Economy to offer courses in platform co-op entrepreneurship.
https://platform.coop/blog/a-pcc-mondragon-course-helps-to-incubate-platform-co-ops/
It runs Jun 1-Jul 24.
"In moments of crisis like this, things that had been considered impossible can become common sense: The Great Depression gave rise to the original New Deal. We need to show possibilities for how the world could be better."

I actually see age difference more “normal” than same age couples, and more when it comes to older men with younger women, like my parents are 10 years apart 0.o wich I think is a lot.. but oh well whenever I see couples same age or when the woman is older I’m like :”unicorn”
(Obviously nothing in a bad way)
Oh yeah I get this completely. I don’t think age is such a big deal honestly (as long as it’s all legal and nonpredatory of course). My parents are 6 years apart and so were my grandparents. My other grandparents are only 1 year apart so all of it seems pretty normal to me lol. And my brother’s girlfriend is almost a year older than him so 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve been involved with people two years older and one year younger but I haven’t had much experience lmao I think it’s less an age issue and more just maturity levels and general compatibility

I posted the European Parliament’s condemnation of surrogacy on the other site and of course it attracts a guy asking ‘Why?’. Which is something that can be easily discerned by clicking the link but I explain why. He follows up with ‘Would it be okay if it was consensual and nonpredatory?’ and it’s just...women don’t choose to be surrogates if they have other options. We don’t see women willing to be a surrogate who could conceivably be choosing other careers. This is an industry that could never be sustained on consent and without predation because women do not choose to do this when they have choice. People, especially men are incredibly boneheaded on this issue.

Excerpt from this New York Times story:
The federal Environmental Protection Agency on Thursday withdrew its support for the continued use of so-called cyanide bombs to protect livestock from predators, reversing course amid strong opposition to the practice.
The E.P.A. administrator, Andrew R. Wheeler, said he was withdrawing an interim reauthorization for the use of M-44 devices, which are used to kill coyotes, foxes and other animals that prey on livestock. The agency, he added, would re-evaluate the highly criticized practice.
“This issue warrants further analysis and additional discussions by E.P.A. with the registrants of this predacide,” Mr. Wheeler said in a statement on Thursday. “I look forward to continuing this dialogue to ensure U.S. livestock remain well protected from dangerous predators while simultaneously minimizing off-target impacts on both humans and nonpredatory animals.”
The federal Department of Agriculture, along with its state counterpart agencies in Montana, New Mexico, South Dakota, Texas and Wyoming, have relied on the M-44s for farming since the mid-1970s.
The devices are smeared with scented bait, which cause predators to bite on and pull them. A capsule containing sodium cyanide, a highly toxic pesticide, is then ejected into the predator’s mouth.
It was not clear late Thursday whether the E.P.A. had immediately halted the use of the devices or was simply reconsidering its reauthorization. The agency was not immediately prepared to answer follow-up questions.
In its interim reauthorization decision, which was written in June but made public last week, the E.P.A. acknowledged that “an overwhelming majority” of the 20,000 public comments it had received were submitted in opposition to its proposal to renew the use of cyanide bombs.

This is Meadow the dilute torture. She is a bunny friendly cat. She once guarded a 2 day old baby bunny who fell out of the nest all night long until I awoke. She's one of those rare totally non-predatory cats. It happens. Maybe it's cuz her mother was an female orange tabby which are almost always male. But Meadow's brother, Furio (orange tabby), is pretty predatory but he is ok with bunnies too pretty much. We used to have a big Maine coon who insisted on snuggling our biggest rabbit at the time. Cats are fascinating. They're the only mammal which doesn't require sunlight to synthesize Vitamin D and the only mammal who can reverse diabetes. This supports my theory they are really aliens. Regardless, Meadow's only fault is she steals hay, lots of it! But hey, we have great hay! Wish I could've gotten a shot yesterday of her and Eddie Rabbitt touching noses! #dilutetortie #nonpredatory #rescuecat #housecat

I mean, we don't attack nonpredatory changelings without provocation, but if you were a deer would you want to live next door to a leopard who might get peckish one night?

storywonker replied to your post “https://gncsuggestion.tumblr.com/post/172240340101/tomcats-and-tophats-...”
as a bi dude, I'm *really* uncomfortable with manipulation, predation, etc. being coded as being stuff men inherently do. That's the shit dudes like me get from homophobes; it'd be nice if people who are ostensibly my allies didn't fucking parrot it.
I’m uncomfortable with that too. Like... it seems like in SJland there is this sense that... you can be a nonpredatory man, but only if you are a member of at least two minority groups. But if you are a wlw, you are nonpredatory no matter what you do.
Having been pushed into sex i did not want by a lesbian, the notion that  predatory lesbians are mythological creatures no woman will ever encounter isn’t a reassuring niceynice to me. To me, it’s a dangerous lie.

that long ass post skeevs me out like crazy. Me, a gay woman, wanting to see gay shit on my dash is... fetishistic, huh? And the implication that women, as a whole, throughout history, don't know what is involved in anal... lmao. I know that the fetishization of MLM is super important, especially when they are perceived by a straight public as hypersexual, but am I wrong in thinking that painting slash fic creators (many of which are wlw) as fetishistic is not particularly nuanced?
oh no agreed anon its incredibly unfair and accusatory of gay women and unnuancedthey completely miss out on -many gay women ship mxm pairings because of how under developed/ badly written women are in any media in existence -internalized self hate is a thing that gay women experience (struggling to see sexual attraction to women as nonpredatory, seeing women only relationships as fulfilling and meaningful as a relationship w a man or men in it) -refusal to acknowledge gay/trans women are actually very thoughtful and have the capability to write gay content that isnt fetishy porn (think about how often you see genuinely caring and romantic fanworks of male characters that isnt thru a hypersexualized lens, there is in fact, A Lot) -unlike fandom, the porn industry is far more widespread and damaging than internet fandom communities and gay and trans women are absolutely fetishized and degraded in the most disgusting ways but damn seeing a closeted 16 year old lesbian drawing two anime dudes kissingthats the real problem that the gays face :/

No reblogs but I think there's a sense in which a lot of people absolutely use the politics of nonbinary identity to wiggle out of accountability for the actual circumstances of their lives, sometimes intentional and sometimes not.
At worst this can be the numerous cishet dudea who are roaming queer scenes right now using they/them within those scenes and constantly sexual harassing women within them. And I think a lot of people are afraid to mention that these men even exist for fear of confusing them with just any old regular nonpredatory gnc person for whom being nonbinary is really just an identity and not a means to an end. But I think it's honestly fucked up for these guys to continue to claim a sort of theoretical relationship to transmisogyny when they live their lives as cis men, face none of the issues with safety and social inclusion that trans women face, aren't even closeted because it is only within these scenes that they ever even vaguely mention this identity of theirs that makes them magically not misogynists, etc. Like the whole piggybacking on experiences that they don't actually have thing is just another way of men using trans women's stories to push their own ability to get close to women in scenes that would otherwise be off limits to them. These are the kinds of guys who often claim bisexuality because "Uhhh my last my partners were afab nb, not women." And it isn't even always totally conscious so much as a man taking advantage of an opportunity he sees. I know numerous trans women who've gotten close to men like this and been shattered by the realization of what was happening because those guys pushed a narrative around shared experiences that weren't there.
But at best, and most commonly, it works like someone genuinely believing their identity forms their social place in the world. So, like, in a lot of self named queer spaces right now, I am not only expected to own up to the idiotic idea of a vague masculine privilege, but I am also expected to understand that I am privileged as a cis person over every single nb identified person ever. Which sounds alright in theory but makes no sense because then you get like, a white afab nb identified person who isn't even read as gnc when walking down the street and who only dates men acting like they are extra marginalized under gender when I have a lot more materially in common with trans people when it comes to the precarious nature of passing, how I am being gendered as a woman who gets read as male a lot, how dangerous a situation can get if a pass fails to hold, how violently upset a stranger can be by being confused, etc. So I'm supposed to own up to how my cis privilege shields me from danger to someone who may genuinely identify as nb but whose social position is that of a heterosexual and non gnc woman just because I use a different term for my identity. And THIS dynamic in turn pushes more gnc women out of the direction of naming ourselves as women, because if we identify ourselves as nb instead people actually take us seriously about what happens in our lives- because transphobia (not used here to refer to job discrimination, housing discrimination, lack of social inclusion, lack of safety when walking down the street, increased risk of sexual harassment- but questioning the sanctity of unified afab nb experience as subjugated more than women's experiences) is taken more seriously in them then misogyny, because these groups have no real understanding of misogyny as a problem that can't be called femmephobia. It's a mess and it will drive you to feel you must be insane as a gnc woman right now. I'm sure it feels similar for trans women trying to express like, dealing with misogyny and transphobia, and being drowned out by a mess of privilege and identity politics. It's the same politics that gave you "binary privilege" for trans women as if that made any sense ever.
