#no offense to Amy Adams or Henry Cavill
I feel like there’s a generation of people who think of Clois as a sauceless, milquetoast ship, and it’s entirely the fault of the Zack Snyder movies giving them zero chemistry.

I think I’d be okay with Henry Cavill, Amy Adams and possibly Ben Affleck leaving the DCEU. I love them all in their roles and would love to see much more of them but I don’t want to see them in roles that are taking such a toll on them.
The people Warner Bros are trying to win over have been fucking horrible to them and the pressure of trying to win them over has to be taking a toll, especially when it doesn’t seem to make any difference as the only praise these people are capable of summoning towards this franchise are snide, backhanded compliments. There’s only so long you can put up with that kind of shit before it becomes too much and you have to leave for your own sake.
The thing that’s going to piss me off is seeing people who’ve been doing this shit for so long act surprised that their words and actions have consequences and double down on blaming Warner Bros even though this is an inevitable effect of getting rid of Zack Snyder’s influence, which is what drew them all to this franchise to begin with.
I know they’ll inevitably respond that they never intended this to happen and I’m curious to know why that would matter. Zack Snyder never intended to make a film they found so personally offensive and that didn’t stop them from treating him like history’s greatest monster. They’re clearly of the belief that intentions don’t mean jack shit.
I’d say I hope this will teach them a lesson about how all the snark and hyperbole and vitriol and the insults, all the shit they don’t think twice about engaging in has consequences in the real world but I’m sure they’ll just double down and find a way to blame Zack Snyder yet again. Their aversion to any kind of introspection and self-awareness is absolutely staggering and no one else seems in a rush to force them to take a look in the mirror.
The future of this franchise seems to be rooted in trying to win over reprehensible people and rewarding them for awful behavior and I can’t blame actors for not sticking around for that because I don’t think I’ll be sticking around for it either. I’ve stuck by this franchise from the start and defended it endlessly but it’s treating what made me care about it to begin as something they’ll go out of their way to avoid because some people can’t get past their hyperbolic hatred and I can’t help but feel a little betrayed that the studio has decided to try and win over the people I’ve been fighting back against for so long.
This franchise had some amazing actors lined up and had the potential for true greatness. It still does but it won’t achieve that if it’s trying to lose what made it so unique to begin with in an effort to become a discount version of the MCU which seems to be exactly what so many people want and the studio is eager to indulge them just to not have to deal with their tantrums anymore.
