They are very strict when it comes to pronunciation, accents, stresses. I was interested in the Erasmus program but would I have to change the whole way I read and speak Latin if I went to the UK or US? (I'm studying archeology btw Latin - and Ancient Greek - is mandatory)

alksdjaldjasd yeah that's how we generally speak it here. it's a reconstructed pronunciation of classical latin (cool webpage about it here!) and that's what most people in the US learn. i think there are sometimes slight differences in the way people in the UK are taught to pronounce vs in the US? and not everyone learns it this way- for example, medieval scholars tend to speak latin differently than classics scholars.

i don't think anyone would necessarily make you chance how you're speaking? i'm not familiar enough with the erasmus program to say for certain, but most people understand that there are different schools of pronunciation. i guess it depends on how much of a stickler the professors are
