Money can't buy happiness? False.
Money can buy you LEGO or the latest edition of LEGO® NINJAGO® Magazine, which includes an original LEGO® Golden Cole minifigure (which is the one pictured here), and a limited edition Trading Card Game: Crystalized Lloyd.

[ninjago headcanons] how they handle valentine's day with you
Tumblr media
𝚒𝚗𝚌𝚕𝚞𝚍𝚎𝚜: 𝚔𝚊𝚒, 𝚓𝚊𝚢, 𝚌𝚘𝚕𝚎, 𝚣𝚊𝚗𝚎, 𝚕𝚕𝚘𝚢𝚍, 𝚗𝚢𝚊, 𝚐𝚊𝚛𝚖𝚊𝚍𝚘𝚗, & 𝚖𝚘𝚛𝚛𝚘
Tumblr media
𝚔𝚊𝚒
of course, he’s very smooth about it
will come up to you wearing that dumb smirk of his holding a heart-shaped box of chocolates, flowers, and a card
asks you in one go. doesn’t stutter or trip over his words
even so, he’s still a little bit nervous deep down - he’s just good at hiding it
will take you out for a fancy dinner and a motorcycle ride; at the end of the night, the two of you go somewhere secluded to watch the sunset together
𝚓𝚊𝚢
he’s not as confident
stutters, blushes, has to practice a few times before he can work up the nerve to ask you
once he does, though, he’s super relieved and gets excited!!
he takes you out to lunch, and then the two of you spend the day at an arcade museum :)
at first, he’s a little bit tense and afraid he’s going to embarrass himself, but he eventually lightens up
the two of you have a blast!
the date ends with cups of ice cream and a walk around a park at sunset
𝚌𝚘𝚕𝚎
asks through a romantic, heartfelt letter that he delivers to your doorstep before you emerge for the day
the letter is sealed in a pretty, light pink envelope and stamped with a flower. accompanying it is a bouquet of your favorite flower along with a box of chocolates
your name is written on the front of the envelope in a unique, calligraphy-esque font that appears messy but also…strangely composed and beautiful, in a way
the letter asks you to meet the secret someone out on the deck of the bounty after breakfast
sure enough, cole is there, fidgeting as he waits for you
once you approach him, he asks to be your valentine!
you answer him with a hug and a “yes!”
the date takes place in a forest initially - he had set up a special spot beforehand. it’s a picnic!
of course, he had to get a little bit of help from zane for the cooking portion :)
afterwards, the two of you take a short hike through the woods until you reach the theater where the ninja performed
it’s empty, but cole knows a certain spot inside
it turns out to be a mirrored studio room, where he teaches you how to dance :)
(or just dances with you, if you already know how!)
𝚣𝚊𝚗𝚎
does it simply and elegantly; after listening to the advice of his teammates, he decides to just ask you while you’re alone on the deck
he averts his gaze when he asks, unsure if he had done it correctly or if he misunderstood the tradition somehow
but when you grin and accept, his nerves ease
the two of you have a quiet, peaceful walk throughout the birchwood forest
(zane makes sure that you’re dressed warm enough beforehand)
eventually, the two of you come across a frozen pond
after determining that the ice is thick enough, zane pulls you onto the ice, the two of you slipping and sliding around
he’s far more graceful, and he doesn’t let you fall
takes the two of you back via a dragon ride, letting you cling to him while you enjoy the sunset
𝚕𝚕𝚘𝚢𝚍
asks you by dropping off a cheesy starfarer-themed valentine’s day card at your door
takes you to a family entertainment venue (think like chuck e cheese, with added games for adults)
he admits that he came here quite a bit whenever it was jay or kai’s turn to watch him when a kid, and he knows all of the tricks to get a lot of tickets
(at one point, he tells you a story about how he would steal tickets from machines and other patrons in order to get better prizes)
the two of you play for hours, saving up as many tickets as you can before heading to the counter to pick out your prizes!
you end up getting two of the same dragon stuffed animals, but in different colors
once that’s done, the two of you enjoy some of the venue's snacks before calling it a day
𝚗𝚢𝚊
she, like her brother, will simply come up and ask you
the only difference is that she lacks his cockiness and is more nervous about it
she keeps it simple - the day starts with a coffee shop date and ends with the two of you wandering the city together
there’s not much of a plan - the two of you just go with the flow
by the time the day is done, you have shopped at a farmer’s market, listened to a talented street performer, tried a bunch of pastries from a local baker, and more!
𝚐𝚊𝚛𝚖𝚊𝚍𝚘𝚗 - 𝚌𝚛𝚢𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚒𝚣𝚎𝚍 𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚜𝚒𝚘𝚗
initially goes to vinny for date ideas and how he should go about asking
when the time does roll around, you notice that he’s stiff and clearly uncomfortable, but also determined
he’s blunt and to the point about it
you can tell he’s doing his best to sound gentle
“i would…very much like it if you were to be my valentine.”
ends up taking you out for a few drinks at laughy’s (either alcoholic or not, whatever you prefer)
either way, he eventually accompanies you on a night walk on the perimater of the city, away from the crowd so that no one can ruin your night together
𝚖𝚘𝚛𝚛𝚘
doesn’t even bother asking. it would embarrass him too much.
very coarse about the ordeal, but even so, it’s really sweet in his own way
probably won’t make a whole lot of eye contact with you. if you squint, you might catch him blushing at some points.
drags you to a nice picnic that he set up (all by himself!) in the ruins of the monastery
it’s a quiet night, but the two of you still enjoy yourselves despite not speaking much
the wind is gentle and content, as is morro
once the two of you are done eating, you’ll shimmy over to him and curl up beside him
he’ll accept your embrace, holding you as you watch the skies together <3
Tumblr media

Hi! how's your day going?
I'd like to request the ninja from Ninjago and an older sibling reader if that alright? You know just cute fluffy days with siblings.
Ninjago Older Sibling!Reader Headcanons <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N; Ahhh hi!!! my day is good ty <3 tysm for this ask this is so cute 🥺🥺 i hope u dont mind hcs, but if u do feel free to ask again and i'll gladly make smthn longer :] jus thought hcs fit the vibe
warnings; none! just fluff <3
Tumblr media
Kai and Nya
Absolutely the most chaotic sibling trio
Nya constantly getting upset with you and Kai for playing the "i'm the older sibling" card
Nya: WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU GUYS DIDN'T SAVE A PIECE FOR ME?
You and Kai: older siblings get cake first that's just the rule. sorry <33
But Kai gets just as upset as she does when you do it to him
You guys all love each other though so it's okay
Just the vibes of being their older sibling would be the most competitive basic sibling rivalry type stuff yk
Lloyd
Constantly doting over him
You might as well be his parental figure since MISAKO AND GARMADON WERE THE WORSTTTTT
You and Kai take turns mother henning him
You and Kai are bffs btw like. I don't make the rules. Kai is just his adoptive older brother in my head, so you two bond over caring for Lloyd
Definitely his comfort person after a long day <3
You're the one Lloyd trusts the most in his life and he isn't scared to tell you his fears because, despite any assumed sibling teasing, he knows you'll take him seriously on that regard
Jay
You guys make annoying each other a full time job
Constantly fighting over who the favorite is
Y/N: At least I help out at the junkyard!!
Jay: I'm literally out saving the world everyday!!!
*aggressive slap fight ensues*
OMG no. he's definitely the younger sibling to pull the rapid fire kick tactic
His elemental abilities go out the window when y'all fight. Just straight up, falls on his back and starts kicking up at you
All fun n games until you're able to catch one of his legs
You totally embarrass him as much as you can in front of Nya too
As Jay's older sibling, you're legally obligated to be Cole's bestie since Cole is Jay's bestie. you guys lovingly torment the lightning user together <33
Cole
The most chill sibling duo to ever exist
you both didn't appreciate Lou's insistence of the singing and dancing shit so y'all just decided to be ride or dies for life
much like cole, you get along so well with the rest of the ninja
idrk what to say here
nvm i do
You guys play video games with each other and you are infinitely salty at the fact that your younger brother is better than you at most video games
like wtf? isn't it supposed to be a god given right for all older siblings to be better at video games???? the FSM screwed you!!!
but you've never let him live down the one time he lost to you at super smash bros
you have refused to play with him since
Zane
See, idk if you'd be his ACTUAL sibling yk since he's a robot? maybe more like you were supposed to be a protege to dr. julien, but decided to just be a 4 lyfer with zane after his passing
you've helped zane understand human culture so much and he's real appreciative of your existence
the ninja absolutely fucking ADORE when you're around because what's better than one zane? TWO ZANES !!!
well, obviously you're your own person but! i could see zane adopting a lot of your mannerisms so you two end up being very similar
quality time is y'alls bread and butter
working around each other perfectly as y'all both cook in the kitchen
words never need to be shared between the two of you. just hanging around the other is enough yk? like y'all are bonding just by existing near each other and it is magical
Tumblr media
ANOTHER A/N; i tried my best to highlight reader being the older sibling but </3 idk if i did it that well. i saw "sibling fluff" and RAN!! im willing to do a pt 2 or like a one shot or anything with a prompt similar to this !! im the youngest sibling myself tho so idk if i can properly portray being an older sibling (only in a mean light. yk like greg heffley and rodrick. do NOT recommend having older siblings y'all /j)

Cole Brookstone Headcannons
warnings: slight cussing? mentions of racial stereotypes/discrimination
General
He was the sexiest man alive 3 years in a row
He also dabbled in modeling
he didn't even try either, a modeling agent saw him and gave him a business card
Cole went to one interview, the next thing he knows he's walking down the runway with Bella Hadid
he's a thought son
does a lot of stuff on social platforms to spread awareness for racial discrimination, politics, and cancer reaserch
if they were to have BLM protests in Ninjago, he would throw tear gas back at cops
He has the BIGGEST resting bitch face ever
obviously he loves cake, but he loves brownies with caramel drizzle and a sprinkle of sea salt on top even more than he loves cake
he really loves Dolly Partons Carmel Turtle mix
He loves Dolly Parton in General
He only drinks water
He HATES those "make my water of the day with me" videos
like JUST DRINK WATER THROUGH OUT THE DAY!?! HELLO?!
Gossip/debrief sessions with Nya are a weekly occurrence
the reason Nya was so confused abt Jay vs Cole in season 3/4/5 is because of how close Nya and Cole already were
But after she stepped away from both of them and thought about her relationship with each of them, she realized Cole was like a sister to her
And I mean sister
She's never had a sister before but her relationship with Cole is exactly how she imagines sister relationships
Nya introduces him as her sister and he's chill with it
He works out with Kai
but unlike Kai, Cole LOVES rest days
he goes to yoga 3 or 4 times a week and is besties with his yoga instructor Andy
Andy and her girlfriend got married and he went to the wedding, that's how close they are
I feel like he's friends with a lot of lesbians
idk they just kinda gravitate towards him
Cole is 6'3
he's also black
he has snake bite piercings
his mom's favorite tree was a maple tree, so he got a maple leaf tattooed behind his right ear
his mom would always tuck his braids or dreads behind his right ear.
he also has a hand tattoo that looks something like this:
Tumblr media
I'm not saying Ninjago has a lot of racial stereotypes or discrimination
but, when they see 6'3, muscular, tatted, pierced, black. resting bitch face Cole walking down the street people tend to label him as scary or dangerous
because of this he's always afraid of coming off as creepy or weird when he tries to talk to someone
Dating
His body is so large, solid, and muscular and it's perfect for hugs and cuddling
He doesn't care about cuddling position- if you guys are comfortable and can fall asleep, its perfect
his favorite place to kiss is your forehead and your shoulders
his love language is acts of service
"my room is too bright in the morning, even with my blinds shut" the next day he has blackout curtains installed
"I always hit my head on that one cabinet" idk how but thanks to his handy work you no longer bump your head on that cabinet
"I wish my kitchen had sodalite counters" You have sodalite counters now(the good thing is, it was mostly free too, he just used his earth powers to find enough sodalite for your counter)
You guys met when the ninjas went out to a restaurant to celebrate whatever victory they had just had
and because he's used to being stereotyped as scary or weird for the way he looks, when you approached him to ask for his number he was shocked and supprised
he was happy about it tho because he had been glancing at you the whole time the team was at the restaurant
You're first date? Mini golfing.
He's been thinking about the perfect first date FOR. YEARS.
why is mini golfing the perfect first date?
Public setting for both parties feeling safe
mini golfing is fun and fairly inexpensive
mini golfing provides plenty of time to talk and chat, but if an awkward moment arises there's something to do
done golfing and now we're hungry?
cheap and decent food inside
done eating but don't want to end the date?
most mini golf places have arcades
AND most arcade games are meant for 2 people
want to take some cute photos?
Most arcades have photo booths for taking cute pics
Cole has been planing a mini golfing first date for years, and just needed someone with the right energy to do it with
Romcom type relationship
You guys meet in a cute romcomy way, have a cute romcomy first date, then you have some sort of romcomy problem, then work things out and live happily ever after
I feel like the romcomy problem wouldn't be very romcomy tho, maybe you guys met before he was a ghost, and him being a ghost was the problem you worked through?
he would keep 1 flower from every boquet he gives to you so he knows when the bouquet is dying, then he gets you fresh flowers
You always have fresh flowers from him, for the entirety of ur relationship
he's a thought son so you would stay up talking about what you guys want your future to look like
He's used to you waking him up in the middle of the night because he was snoring
He gives great advice, but before he gives it he asks if you want comfort or advice
he's also really good at comforting you
he just knows exactly how to make you feel safe and understood
you'd go to yoga with him, Andy and her girlfriend(now wife) would love you
if you guys did want kids, Cole would be the perfect dad
Physical touch is his 2nd love language, but he doesn't rlly like PDA
most touches in public are pinky or hand holding(he would do the thumb thing), putting his hand on the small of your back when going through crowds, maybe a peck on the temple here and there
but in private he can't get his hands off you
he just wants to touch you in any and every way possible
he's infatuated by you
he sends you tiktoks of an orange cat(him) and some other cat(color/type depending on ur personality) and says us
he sends you couple trends and says "we should do this"
"if I every won the lottery, oh wait, I already did" yeah. he did that, first 2 slides were him, and the other 30 were pics of you
"oh that's pretty, imma take a picture" yep.
he has life 360 with you
not in a weird way, obvi, in like a oh this fun way
You're like the parents of the team
Jay and Nya are the uncle and aunt
In another universe the four of you are drinking wine and talking about how annoying some coworkers have been recently

Hello! I'm new to the Ninjago fandom and I love your writing. I hope I'm not overstepping but couldn't stop thinking about an AU where after Lloyd gets kicked out of Darkely's he winds up being taken in by Mystake - she finds him wandering around or something. And then Lloyd learns a bit about his oni/dragoni heritage earlier than in canon which may/may not affect the way the prophecy of the Green Ninja plays out.
hiiii anon who sent me this june 15th and has no doubt forgotten all about this: heyo super belated welcome to the fandom!!!!! the belatedness is all my fault for running away with this super-awesome prompt -- I ended up using it more as an inspiration than anything else, even though I tried to stick closer to it, but hey the inspo works where it will :D it's a super cool idea and if anyone else wants to take a stab at it have at it! I hope if you find this you enjoy it regardless.
change
There’s a boy staring at him in the tea shop.
Wu sees him first through the dusty slats of shelves, a popping spot of brightness against the time-faded walls and wood of Mystake’s abode.  He’s shocking, and not just because of his youth, but because for all of Wu’s years coming here, he’s never seen another person in the shop.
Who is he, he wonders, pretending to browse through packets.  A neighbor?  A grandchild? The boy doesn’t look necessarily like Mystake - Wu spies wispy blond hair peeking out around the edges of his hood - and Wu never knew her to marry, but then again he knows there’s much he’s missed in his old friend’s life.
He grips his staff at the flyaway thought, exhaling his inner turbulence the way Father always taught him to.  No.  The past is the past, and to dwell on it is just to waste time he doesn't have.
He sets down the packet he’s holding.  He’s here for something specific, and it’s not something he can find on these shelves.
He steps to the counter.  Mystake is there, besides the child, and she lifts her eyes from her solitaire game when he drops his coins in front of her.
“Well, well, well,” she drawls.  “Look who the cat dragged in.”  She pushes her cards aside.  “What do you want, old fool?”
Wu feels his lips twitch into a smile.  “Old, perhaps, but not yet as old as you.”
She barks a laugh.  “And yet you don’t deny the fool allegation.”
“I would be a fool to do so.”  He sets his staff against the counter, and leans in to her.  “An order of eventualitea would be welcome.”
Mystake’s eyes widen, only noticeable to Wu from his decades of knowing her.  She gives him a considering look before nodding, once, to herself, and padding off.  Her muttering trails off as she disappears into the back.
With nothing left to distract him, Wu finally gives in to his urge to look at the child.
He’s short.  That’s the first thing Wu processes, shorter even than he looked from across the room, and despite the large hoodie appears to be rather stringy.  His eyes, their color indiscernible in the shadow of his hood, dart away as soon as Wu looks his way.
Shy? Wu wonders.  Or perhaps just not used to people.  For a moment his heart had leapt a beat, seeing that blond hair, but this child is much too small to be eight years of age.
“Hello there,” he says, as the boy’s gaze creeps back up.  He musters a smile, but the boy’s eyes widen and he ducks his head.  Mystake, returning, looks between the two of them and raises a wizened eyebrow.  Wu clears his throat.
“Pardon me.  I was just trying to meet your companion here.”
Mystake’s eyebrow climbs higher.  “Hm.  Looks more like you scared him to me.”
“Hey, I wasn’t scared!” protests the boy, finding his voice at last.  His voice is nasally, and he trips over his words as he rushes to get them all out.  “I was just – just staying quiet!”
“And not responding to your elders?”  Mystake sighs.  “What did I say about being polite to customers?”
The boy stares at the counter.  “But you’re not,” he mumbles.
Mystake laughs sharply.  “Oh?  I see how it is.”  She turns to Wu with a dry look and the tea leaf packet.  “You must forgive my idiot apprentice.  He’s still new.”
“Of course.”  Wu pockets it, and smiles.  “He was no bother.  Thank you, Mystake.”
“Don’t mention it,” she sniffs.  “Just clear out of here before you wither away on my floor.”
“Hey!” protests the child, and Mystake smacks him on the arm.  He glowers at her, and Wu feels his breath catch.  Old memories stir, painful memories, and suddenly he doesn’t care to linger any longer.
“I will see you later,” he says, stepping to the door.
Mystake waves him out, not really paying attention as she starts bickering with her apprentice.  Wu shuts the door.  He closes his eyes, breathing out slowly again.  A moment passes, and then he takes up his staff and starts home.
It’s only after Wu’s halfway back that he realizes he never learned the child’s name.
---
The boy is gone the next time he comes.
Not that Wu was looking for him.  It’s just something to note when he enters the shop: the shelves are all stocked, flies buzz lethargically at the window, and Mystake is alone today at the counter.
He idles by the front as Mystake gets his order.  The weather is turning warmer, and melting snow pools on the windowsill.  Wu tracks the condensation running down the panes, the way that the flies track water across the wood.  When Mystake returns to the counter to wrap his tea in brown paper, Wu turns her eyes to her curiously.
“Is your apprentice out today?”
A familiar scowl settles across Mystake’s face.  “My apprentice?” she repeats, attacking the paper with scissors.  “Never had an apprentice in my life.”
Wu’s lips quirk.  “Of course.”  The game returns to him, the plot of a book thought long-forgotten.  “How my memory goes sometimes.”
“Hm.”  Mystake seals the wrapping.  She gives him a pointed look.  “Maybe it would do you well to take a break sometime, hm?”
Wu leans more of his weight against his staff.  “If only I could,” he sighs.  “But no, I cannot yet.”
Mystake grunts.  “Ah, yes.  Your new students.”
Wu looks at her in some surprise.  Then he laughs deprecatingly.  “Of course.  They fought the serpentine first here, in your hometown.”
She gives him another meaningful look.  “Hm, and Garmadon’s son.”
Wu swallows.  “Yes,” he admits.  “That is true.”
“Hung him up on a bladesign, they did!” she says.  “Took me the better part of an hour to get him down, hmph.”
“You saw him?” Wu exclaims, forgetting his embarrassment and leaning forward with shock.  “You helped him?”
Mystake’s eyes track a fly as it bumbles around her head.  “Hm-hm.”
“Do you know where he is?”
She’s silent for a long moment.  The fly’s buzzing fills the air in the interim.  “No,” she says at last, and Wu’s heart sinks.  “No, I’m afraid I do not.”
“Ah,” he says, leaning back, depleted.  To have his hopes so raised and dashed again – but it’s not Mystake’s doing, at least not intentionally.
He remembers his manners and how to smile.  “Ah.  Well, thank you for letting me know.”
“Cheer up, you old fool,” Mystake says, and gruffly she presses the tea packet into his palm.  “You’ll find what you’re looking for, or have one of my teas ever failed you?”
“No,” says Wu softly, looking down at the parcel.  “No, they have not.”
---
There are rats in the walls.
Wu hears them as he tries to meditate – can hear only them, despite how he does his best to keep his focus and center himself.  Tiny feet skitter at the edges of his consciousness, and tiny teeth nibble away at his focus until he can think of little else.  He attempts to power through for a time until finally he gives up, wincing as he unfolds his legs and stands.  His empty teacup goes on the table beside the near-empty pot of eventualitea.
Eventualitea.  Once, it had shown him a vision of his brother plotting his return to the overworld.  Wu had acted accordingly, gathering his four protectors of the Golden Weapons, and the vision had proved to be true.  By drinking that tea and bending his mind towards Garmadon, Wu had saved the world.
There’s no reason it shouldn’t work again, but the visions that come to him this time are not the same.  Confusing images assault him, blurry distortions of the world that make it look many times its size, and dark clouds hovering before his eyes.  Jumbled words, as if underwater, fill his head – and the squeaking!  The horrible squeaking that invades his ears like a creaky door being thrown about by a toddler – no, this time the tea is loathe to work, and Wu can’t comprehend why.
(Or, he already does and he simply fears the answer.)
No.  Such thoughts have no place here.  Going to his door, Wu throws it open.  Right outside, all four of his students startle.
“Sensei!” yelps Jay.  “Hey, I guess that answers the question of if you’re alive, ha ha.”
“Oh,” says Zane, lips pressing together mildly in the way Wu’s come to recognize as his confusion.  “Is that what we were doing?  But I could have told you that.”
“Right,” Cole says, with the dawning air of someone who’s forgotten something important.  “Yeah, no, that makes sense in hindsight.  Next time, buddy.”
Wu shakes his head tiredly.  “Enough,” he says.  “What are you doing now?  Have you completed all of your chores?”
“Yeah,” says Kai, ever his straight-to-the-point student.  “We’re smoking the rats out now.”  He gestures, and Wu follows the path of his hand, down to where the Dragon Sword of Fire is propped against wood still green and disappearing into a hole in the wall.
Wu’s not sure whether to praise their ingenuity or smack them upside the head for having it at the expense of his father’s monastery.
“Yeah, look at them!” exclaims Jay, holding up his hands.  A small rat, so small it could almost pass for a hamster if it were not for the tail, struggles in his hold, squeaking up a storm.  Jay lifts it up like a prize, bringing it towards his eyes and cooing.
“Don’t hold it right next to your face!” snaps Kai.  “What if it bites you?  Do you know the diseases those things carry?”
Jay pouts.  “Aww, but they were always my friends back home.”
“What kind of home did you have?”
“Enough,” says Wu again.  “Now is not the time for this.”  He surveys his students, the way that Kai scowls and Jay pouts and Cole rolls his eyes and Zane reaches out to take the rodent into his own protective hands.  “Thank you for doing this, but do not spend all your time here.  There are more pressing matters that deserve your attention.  Lloyd –”
“Is missing, we know, we know,” Kai says.
Wu sends him an admonishing look.  Kai swallows.  “Look,” he says, crossing his arms over his chest in a - most likely subconscious - attempt to make himself look larger.  “He’s probably still at his bad boy school, Sensei.  They just lied to you about it.  Like, isn’t that something a bad boy school would do?”
“That type of behavior does seem to align with all the presumed morals of a bad boy school,” admits Zane.
Kai claps him on the back, sending Zane stumbling forward.  “See?  Even Zane agrees with me!”
“Sensei,” says Cole awkwardly, “I get that he’s your nephew, but with all due respect, we’ve got bigger fish to fry.  More serpentine have been spotted at the outer villages.  Those people are the ones that need our help.”
Wu shakes his head.  “Of course we must help them.  But we also must find my nephew.  I’m disappointed in your attitudes, and yours in particular,” he says, turning to Kai.  “You know what it is like to have a missing family member.”
Kai reels like he’s been slapped.
“Until Lloyd is accounted for, we will not stop searching for him,” Wu finishes.  “Do you understand?”
Cole exhales noisily.  “Yes, Sensei,” he intones, and the others echo him.
Wu turns to go back inside.  He hears Cole directing the others away behind him, and then the door shuts between him and he’s alone again.
The last of the tea leaves weigh heavier than they should as he steps to the brazier for one last pot.  He waits for the water to heat, staring at the curling steam rising from the spout.
That boy is the last of his family.  Without him, who does Wu have left?
The rats are silent as he reclaims his spot on his mediation carpet.
---
He returns to the tea shop the next morning.
Mystake is leaning against the counter.  She startles when he enters, springing to her feet and taking a step back.  “Oh.  You again.  Uh, hasn’t it only been a week?”
Wu nods, heavy.  “Unfortunately, my need for it prevails.”
He settles against the counter.  Mystake gets him his order.  She hems and haws over the register, chewing her lip as she rings him up.  “So, uh, what do you need all this tea for anyway?”
Wu sighs.  “At this point, I thought it would have been obvious.”
She shoots a glance at him from the corner of her eye.  “Maybe.  But – but you should still tell me anyway.”
Wu shakes his head, long-resigned to the fickleness of Mistake’s moods.  “Aye, shall I?  What is there left for you to learn?  You know that I am in here to buy your tea every week, and also that my nephew is still unaccounted for, gone like a leaf in the wind.”  He bows his head, stares at his weathered hands.  “I must find him, Mystake.  He’s all I have left.”
There’s the sound of something dropping to the floor.  Mystake fumbles for the lid, returning with it wide-eyed.  “You want him?”
Is something not well with her?  Wu frowns, reaching over to help her place the lip on the canister again.  “I thought that had already been established,” he says a touch dryly.
Mystake nods.  Then she shakes her head.  “No.  No, I knew you were looking for him.  I just –” she swallows.  “Are you going to punish him, when – if you find him?”
“Punish him?” repeats Wu.  “For what?”
Mystake’s eyes skip over to the tea shelves.  “You know.  Running away from school and, uh, opening the Serpentine tombs?”
“Tomb,” corrects Wu, a little tersely.  “There’s no evidence that he opened any of the others past the Hypnobrai.”  He sighs.  “Maybe once, I would have.  But now –”
He trails off.  How could he punish a child for releasing serpents, when he himself had done the same?  How could he hold a child accountable for initiating things beyond his comprehension, when he himself was the reason his father’s monastery was for long, long years so empty?
“You're the one who wants to fight his dad," Mystake says softly.  Wu comes out of his thoughts.  She stares at the paper-wrapped parcel in her hands, fiddling with the corner between her fingers.  “I just assumed –”
Wu’s heart pangs as it ever does at Garmadon’s mention.  “I don’t want to fight him,” he says.  Mystake, better than anyone else, knows the history of their relationship – has been there for nearly all the ups and downs.  “I still hold onto hope for my brother.  But even if his fate is doomed, that doesn’t mean I can’t save his son.”
“Tell him that,” she blurts.
“Garmadon?” Wu asks.  “Aye, he already knows.  It’s one thing we’ve always agreed upon.”  His hands ache with the memory of casting his brother down, his heart with the remembrance the strangled promise exacted from him moments before the ground sealed shut.
Look how well you’ve kept that, he chides himself.
Mystake looks taken aback.  Her eyebrows screw up and she tugs her lip between her teeth, and she thrusts the packet of tea leaves suddenly forward.  “No.  Lloyd.  Tell him everything you just told me.”
Wu takes the leaves, laughing slightly despite himself.  “Oh?  And how do you suppose I do that, seeing as he’s the reason I’m here?”
He expects her to laugh too, or to shoo him off.  But she smiles a slow, tentative smile, and her red eyes finally turn to his.
“I don’t know.  Maybe -- maybe he'll turn up sooner than you think.”

Tumblr media
All the way back when S1 was airing (so, prehistoric times), I actually had this crack theory that Bonezai and Dr. Julien were the same character.
Tumblr media
Now who is Bonezai you might ask? He's one of the Skulkin, he was from that era of Ninjago where each enemy was advertised in sets and canon as a unique individual with a name, but in the show itself, he's just a placeholder model meant to represent multiple nameless soldiers.
In Bonezai's case, he was one of the Skulkin of Ice, alongside Wyplash; We had two sets of Skulkin, one with the standard minifigure head, the other with a specialized skull mold. Each set had a Skulkin representing one of the four elements of the time, Bonezai was ice. Not in the actual show, but definitely in product descriptions, side lore like the guidebook, and especially in the spinner game, where his character card lists Ice as his primary element. You can see all of this reflected in the color of spike and loincloths the Skulkin had, with white being Ice, gray being Earth, red Fire, and blue Lightning.
Bonezai never really got a proper story appearance, not even in supplementary materials; His only true characterization as an individual was in online descriptions and the like. But he was described as the inventor of the Skulkin vehicles and other machinery, generally chill, but fiercely defensive of his creations; He turned a Skulkin into a tool rack for scratching his Turbo Shredder, and damaging Bonezai's work is a reliable way to distract him.
This was early Ninjago, this was years before we got the Cursed Realm, or the Departed Realm. This was back when the Underworld was apparently THE afterlife for all of Ninjago, with the website in 2011 even stating this. There was the strange implication that all of our protagonists, sans Zane, were destined to become Skulkin, and the Underworld as the arrival for all deceased is kinda played with in the pilots too.
Wu's sacrifice at the Fire Temple is clearly meant to play into the idea that he died and went to the Underworld as a result, taking the Sword of Fire with him. It's even said that no mortal can cross over into the Underworld, implying that Garmadon and Wu both died, and 'banishment' is like being banished to the Shadow Realm in Yugioh, it's just another way to say they died.
Shortly after the pilots aired however, we did get the canon mini-movie shorts, which revealed that there's a passage to the Underworld inside the Fire Temple. So I guess the writers realized the implications of Wu being technically undead, so they did a soft retcon by revealing there was just a portal there the entire time, and that's how Garmadon was able to manifest as well.
But I digress; The point is that up until S4, the canon was that the Underworld was the afterlife. Then we got the Cursed Realm, which differentiated itself as Ninjago's Hell. And finally we had Day of the Departed, which built off of the sixteen realms reveal by making a new, much tamer afterlife called the Departed Realm. During Day of the Departed's release, a lot of lore of dubious canonicity was revealed in the website, including the claim that the Underworld was where disgraced warriors go to where they die. Obviously this was an attempt to differentiate the Underworld and Cursed Realms if they're both Ninjago Hell now, and explain what the Skulkin even are if the Departed Realm is a thing.
All of this is to say: The established lore implies that Dr. Julien became a Skulkin when he died. So we have two dead inventors, affiliated with Ice in some way (in Julien's case, due to having invented Zane) and being very emotionally attached to their creations. So kid me thought it'd be a fun twist if Bonezai was Dr. Julien's undead alter-ego this entire time, because there's no fucking way his name was Bonezai when he was alive.
As for why Bonezai didn't react to his son Zane, I reasoned that the individual named Bonezai never actually encountered Zane; All those lookalikes were just other Skulkin using the same character model for animation ease. As I said earlier, Bonezai never had an actual story appearance, especially not a canon one, so it was easy to imagine that he was just in the Underworld the entire time, blissfully unaware of who his comrades were fighting.
Tumblr media
BUT THEN we got S2, which jumpscared us with Dr. Julien's return, and in a way very odd in regards to the Bonezai theory because like. It was retconned that Julien invented the Skulkin vehicles, which at the time upset me because it just undid all of Bonezai's existence as a character. And it was kind of funny because the writers semi-confirmed my theory that Julien created the Skulkin's machines, but in a way that had him replace Bonezai, rather than make the characters the same. So I guess if I really wanted to stretch it, I could still say they're the same, that during Julien's brief stint working under Samukai he became a Skulkin, and then got his flesh back...???
But yeah, it's definitely not canon now, especially with 2016 bringing us the Departed Realm, which is where Julien actually would've gone post-mortem, both times. In 2011 we had books written by Greg Farshtey, who also characterized Bonezai, that established Zane’s amnesiac past before S1 did, and alluded to Garmadon somehow knowing where he came from. So I wonder if Greg Farshtey knew what the Hagemans had planned, if they told him, if they read his work and decided to roll with Zane having a mysterious origin. So maybe Samukai and Julien’s connection was an attempt to follow through on that, a year later.
Tumblr media
It was a fun and interesting saga, and my thought process was insane when I saw Samukai and Julien on-screen at the same time, and then saw the blueprints. I suppose the fact that there was already blueprints for Samukai to show means that Bonezai created the initial designs, and then Julien perfected on them; We already got something like that back in 2011, when the guidebook mentioned how Chopov unwittingly improved upon the Skulkin motorcycle design, and his version got approved over Bonezai's, to Bonezai's dismay. So I suppose it was nothing new.

I'm Alive in New Light
A Ninjago Fanfic for @thebearmage, featuring Bears OC Hesperia (Otherwise known as Cas!)
Available on Ao3
Wordcount: 7k
Ship: Zane/Hesperia (OC)
Summary:
Cas's bar is a place where anyone in Ninjago can come get a drink and relax to live music, play a few rounds of cards, or watch a round of fisticuffs in the fight ring. Emphasis on ANYONE- from Ninjagos most wanted to the resident elemental heroes. When it comes to clientele, however, Cas has never seen a member of the Ninja team spend a night out here. Not until Zane shows up one day, and just... keeps coming back.
The bar is tucked away behind a Chen's noodle shop and a mattress store, the type of place where you have to walk a poorly lit back alley and down a set of old brick stairs to get to- a stone warrior in a hoodie and sunglasses hung out outside the entrance as a bouncer of sorts, though he never really stopped anyone from going inside. Just kept an eye out for police, mostly, or other types of troublemakers. The place was a hot spot for villains completely by happenstance, since this bar was the only place that didn’t kick out Ninjagos most wanted after one glance. Everyone was welcome here from the darkest of hearts to the purest, even if these old walls didn’t see heroes too often.
It’s the very definition of hole-in-the-wall, a place that you hear of by word of mouth instead of ads or billboards or ninjagos favored flashing neon signs. It’s decently sized in the main downstairs area- there’s booths and tables, a few stools at the bar and leather couches along the walls centered around a raised portion of floor surrounded by a low concrete half wall. The brawling ring or live music stage, depending on the night. In the upstairs loft, pool tables and a handful of arcade games are tucked into one corner along with several larger tables for poker and other card games, there’s a few more spots for seating around the railing above the squared circle. There’s bedrooms and more up on the third level, places where too-drunk villains tended to sleep off their hangovers after a particularly fun night.
It’s Cas’ pride and joy.
When he’d first started up the bar- a handful of months after the death of the Overlord- he’d been lost and alone, looking for direction. This place had become his home. Literally when she’d made one of the empty upstairs apartments his own, and figuratively once they’d set down their roots and opened the bar fully. They had found a purpose that grounded them and set the world right again. As the remains of her Fathers army tracked her down in wake of her inheriting his powers, she’d formed herself a little family too. Many of the Stone Warriors and Nindroids had left when she gave them permission to, but a handful stayed by his side. They knew this place like the back of his hand, and once the bar had really gotten into full swing she knew exactly who would come through that door and when. Her regulars were predictable.
Which is why the cold chill that races up her spine is a surprise- not the shiver of winter wind, but something deeper. A pull in his chest that alerted him to a surprising, but not unwelcome, new visitor. He looks up from where he’s wiping a glass clean and zeroes in on him immediately, standing cool and calm by the front door.
He’s not dressed in his ninja suit, opting for dark jeans and a matching turtleneck under a black jacket. Dressed too smart and sharp for this place’s atmosphere. This isn’t the first time Cas has felt that familiar chill- light and dark are connected and intertwined in deepset, ancient ways. Cas has spent years honing his skill of avoiding the ninja. Not out of malicious intent, just that, well, it’s a bit awkward isn’t it? To run into the overlords spawn- your greatest arch nemesis- in the produce section of a walmart?
The point being that Cas has seen him several times in passing around ninjago, but now it’s… different somehow. The cold that runs along his skin is sharper, prickling goosebumps along the back of his neck. Zane’s powers had always felt mild and gentle, the chill of the first snowfall of winter, not… like this. Humming with a deep and contained turmoil. A blizzard.
Zane doesn’t come into the bar any deeper, walking  only two short dashes from the door in case he needs to make a quick getaway and settling onto a leather couch, hidden half behind the railing over the boxing ring, and he’s hyper alert and unsure. The ring has been converted into a stage for the night, an up and coming jazz band playing a set that Zane-even as tense as he is- nods his head to.
Cryptor- who’s sitting in a bar stool behind the bar not helping at all- notices Zane right away, “What,” He snarls, rocketing out of his stool to glare at him over the bar, “Is he doing here!?”
“Relax, Cry. He has got a right to be here just as much as the Mechanic or Killow does.” Cas places a calming hand on Cryptors arm, “This is a place for everyone.” He reminds him.
Cryptor is still bristling, “Whatever.” He says, but doesn’t sit back down.
“Is it possible he has come here to destroy us?” Kozu asks, fingers brushing his sword like he’s itching to pull it.
Cas glances at Zane, who is quietly keeping to himself, “I think… he has come alone.” He frowns, “Either way, I do not wish to antagonize him- or any of his friends, if they join him- unless they cause problems first. Understood?”
At the begrudging confirmation, Cas flags down a nindroid to the bar. She’s gotten herself several modifications and upgrades so she doesn’t resemble a typical overlord nindroid at all, which Cas thinks will be best for this interaction. “Do you feel comfortable going and welcoming our newest guest? And seeing if he wants a drink?”
The bot heads over to him without issue, and even though Zane is tense and watchful as she approaches, he doesn’t lash out.
“Just water.” The girl reports back, and when Zane receives his sealed bottle he doesn’t ask for anything else the rest of the night.
After three hours of sitting tucked away on that couch, he stands up and walks out the door, leaving behind a generous tip on the little side table.
This happens four nights in a row before Cas gets tired of it.
“He is not comfortable here.” Cas sighs, irritated by how that gets under their skin, “If we were going to attack him, we would have long ago.”
“I could attack him now, if you want.” Cryptor supplies unhelpfully.
Cas pins him with a look that makes him sigh and sink back into his chair, put out. Cas beckons over that same waitress that’s been serving Zane his water since day one and pours a drink as she comes over, “Here.” They say, finishing off the fancy looking cocktail with a flourish, “This is for Zane, on the house. As a thank you for visiting my establishment.”
She takes it, shooting a questioning look at Cryptor who shrugs in response. She expertly swerves out of the way of a few drunk men and delivers the drink safely. Cas can see her mouth moving before she turns and points directly at Cas at the bar. Zanes brilliant blue eyes cut straight through the dim lights and cigarette smoke, squinting in confusion. Cas offers a smile and lifts her own glass in a toast, his gaze feeling electric on her skin. Zane nods and takes the drink, setting it aside.
Twenty minutes pass.
“He has not even taken one sip.”
Cryptor groans but it’s Kozu who speaks up this time, “Why are you so fixated on the enemy? He is the man who ended your fathers life.”
“What happened to my father is his own fault. Zane did what had to be done.” Cas countered immediately before continuing, “I made this place to be a spot where both sides of this fight could relax. It is an issue if anyone feels unwelcome.”
More time passes. Zane doesn't touch his drink.
Cas is out behind the bar and heading towards him before she can think. His determined march turns more casual as she heads over, and Zane's eyes are on him before he gets within twenty feet, watching him with hawk-like precision. They stop and lean back against the railing right in front of Zane, arching a brow.
“The drink is just called Dark Matter. There isn’t any actual dark matter in it.” Cas starts.
Zane is leaned back and calm, the perfect picture of poised and relaxed. Cas has no doubt in their mind that he’s ready to strike at the first indication of trouble.
“I am a nindroid,” Zane reminds her, “Alcohol does not affect me.” His voice is lower than the last time they heard it, and strangely hoarse, as if his programming couldn’t remember how he’s supposed to sound.
“I know, but it tastes good.” At Zane's unimpressed look, Cas steps forward and takes the drink. Every plate in Zane's body locked and he’s looking at Cas with dangerous eyes, a rattlesnake poised to bite, but Cas doesn’t flinch. He just tosses back half the drink with one gulp- it’s the bar's signature drink because it’s her favorite. “I hope you’ll try it next time. It really is good.”
“Maybe.” Zane says, relaxing ever so slightly.
Cas finishes the drink in silence before heading back to the bar. When they turn around, Zane is gone.
Accidentally, this becomes their pattern.
Zane shows up, orders a water and hangs around for a while before Cas sends over a dark matter cocktail, on the house. Zane leaves it on the table, Cas heads over and chats while she drinks it for him before returning to the bar. When they look back, he’s always gone.
During this particular night, while Cas is sipping their drink and leaning back against the railing, they ask, “Why are you here?”
Zane, who’d been open and casually chatting about their previous conversation topic (the newest prime empire DLC), visibly closes off. His expression shutters, goes flat, and his eyes lose a light Cas had come to appreciate. It seems every ounce of progress they’d made to break down his walls snaps down the middle, shoving them back out of arm's reach. He’s tense and silent where he’s regarding Cas over the rim of his glass. Cas doesn’t think he’ll say another word the rest of the night.
“I needed to get away from the monastery.” He replies, stilted.
Cas frowns and cuts his eyes away to where he’s swirling his drink in its cup, thinking back on the NGTV broadcast only a handful of days before Zane's first appearance at their bar, “On the news… they said your team had stepped away from their duties to the city to ‘mourn a personal tragedy.’ Is that what you are running from?”
“Presumptuous to assume I am running from something.”
“Are you?”
Zane's' eyes turn chilly, “I am not.”
Cas decides to push their luck, “You have not been seen out with the ninja since that announcement… Were you hurt?”
“I am fine.”
A pause- Cas knows the look in Zane's eyes, the hunted expression he wears when he thinks no one is looking, “You do not have to lie to me. No one from your team would have willingly entered this place two weeks ago, but you did. Something changed.”
Zane looks at the boxing ring where two men had just wrapped up a fight, both bloody and laughing, “Thank you for the drink.” A curt dismissal.
The next night he’s back, and he leaves his drink on the table like usual.
It’s only after Cas has taken the first sip that he speaks, “I am here because I am…putting distance between myself and my friends.” He says, stilted. “Circumstances from several weeks ago have caused an irreconcilable change in me. I am different.”
Cas stares at him for a long moment. Zane meets him eye to eye, challenging him. “You chose a bar filled with your greatest enemies to hide, alone, from the rest of the ninja?”
“I came here because I knew the others would not look here.” He smiles softly and while it is gentle and mild mannered, there’s an unmistakable razors edge to it, “I do not fear the violence of anyone here. I am well aware of my capabilities, now more than ever. Lately, I am more comfortable among these people than my friends.” He seems surprised by his admission, hands twitching as if he could snatch it back out of the air where it sits heavily between them. This isn’t the first time during their conversations that Cas has gotten the impression that Zane is deeply dangerous, but it is the closest Zane's ever gotten to verbally confirming his abilities are on a whole new level.
Cas understands that whatever went down was worse than what happened all those years ago with his father- that Zane's death was near insignificant in the wake of this newest trauma, “You’ll always be welcome here.” They say softly.
Their drink is gone. Usually they head back to the bar, but they don’t want to go. She struggles to find more words for a moment, “Can I get you anything else?”
Zanes mouth twitches into a ghost of a smile, “Yes.” He says, to her surprise, “I would like  to order the bar's signature drink. I believe it is called a Dark Matter.”
Cas gives him a perplexed look before shaking the empty cup, “You had one. I just drank it.”
“I am aware.” There is a moment of hesitation before Zane says, “I wanted to try it after the third day you sent it, but I thought that if I did, you would not come over. I have come to appreciate our talks.”
A bit of heat floods Cas cheeks, just the barest bashful blush, “Come sit by the bar, then. We can talk while I make it.”
Zane stands but after glancing at his watch, winces, “There is no more time tonight.” He says regretfully as they walk towards the front of the bar together, “Tomorrow, I will sit at the bar.”
“And you’ll try my drink.”
“And I will try your drink.” They stop at the door, the moment strangely poignant. a heartbeat passes, “Goodbye, Cas.”
“See you tomorrow, Zane.” Halfway to the bar, Cas looks over her shoulder. Zane is standing there still, hand on the doorknob, and he smiles slightly before stepping out into the alleyway.
“EW.” Cryptor announces loudly as Cas comes back behind the bar, “WHAT is with the goo-goo eyes.”
“Shut up.” Cas grumbles, face hot.
“You two have become especially close in these past few evenings.” Kozu observes, “You have been in higher spirits since your friendship has blossomed as well. Noticeably.”
“He’s my sworn enemy, remember? Yours too. He killed your dad?” Cryptor points out again, flicking a complimentary peanut out of the little bowl and across the bar top.
“I already told you both I do not hold any hard feelings for that.” Cas shrugs, rinsing her empty cup just to be doing something with her hands, “He is not my enemy. In fact, I think the two of you might actually have more in common than-”
“DON'T finish that sentence.” Cryptor fake gags, throwing himself face down on the bar dramatically.
Cas chuckles quietly, putting the glass away. Kozu’s words sit accusingly in the back of his mind… Sure, she liked talking to Zane. She even looked forward to their little ritual, but was it really affecting his mood so much that Kozu- famously dense when it comes to interpersonal relationships- was picking up on it? Zane was leaving his drink for them, bidding for connection that Cas found she was happy to turn towards. He was a great conversationalist, even the most mundane topics like what laundry detergent he liked best was captivating. Cas liked chatting with him. Cas liked Zane.
As a friend of course. Anything more would just be… messy. Especially since Cas had accidentally on purpose omitted the fact that the Overlord was their father.
“Regardless of any past transgressions, he is welcome in this bar just like everyone else… and I do enjoy talking to him.” They admit before a mischievous grin curls their lips, “And you have to admit, he is… well built. I mean, when his shirt is unbuttoned? The craftsmanship-”
“I’m covering my ears! Can’t hear you!” Cryptor announces loudly, clapping his hands over his head, “La la la la la!!!”
Cas just laughs.
Zane sets the glass down with a clink, face thoughtful as he mulls over the taste. He’s a chef, it’s in his nature! “I thought it was a dark rum, I was not expecting vodka.”
“And blue curacao.” Cas adds, “Cranberry juice, sour mix, and grenadine for color and taste too. It’s good right?”
“It is.” He smiles, taking another drink, “How has your day been?”
“Uneventful.” He talks while he pours a martini for Reflectra, “It’s inventory day so I spent all day here-”
The conversation flows easily as Cas recounts her day and Zane his, breaking off into several tangents during. Cas seems to learn something new about Zane everyday, like his favorite type of bird or his dads name or what he puts into his pot roast to make it taste the best. Little nuggets of information Cas tucks away into their brain for some unknown point in the future. A group of people walk in and Cas shoots Zane an apologetic smile before going to serve them, and it’s during this moment where his back is turned that Cryptor swoops in. Cas doesn’t hear how it starts, but she can definitely hear how it’s going.
“You have no idea what you are talking about.” Zane's voice is razor thin and dangerous- so much so that alarm bells ring in Cas’s head. That tone of voice is what makes them turn around in the first place, to try and damage control.
“Oh yeah? Prove it then.” Cryptor is leaned over the counter glaring at him. He jerks his head towards the empty fighting ring behind him, “Show me.”
“No.” flatly, Zane turns away.
“Cryptor,” Cas starts, but doesn’t get any further.
“You are afraid of me! The great ice ninja is a coward!” He leans back with a vicious grin, “That is why your team has been fighting without you, isn’t it? Zane, left behind and benched because he’s too pathetic-”
Zane bolts to his feet, whipping around to glare at Cryptor with a chilling rage. He turns on heel and storms into the ring, shrugging off his jacket and slinging it over the railing before he spins around. The room is silent as Zane begins to roll up his sleeves, deadly calm. All eyes are on him. “I am no coward.” He doesn’t smile, face smooth and near emotionless, “If you challenge me, I accept.”
Cryptor pauses for only a heartbeat longer before his face twists into a cruel smirk. He vaults over the bar and follows Zane into the ring, tugging off his hoodie and tossing it on the floor. Cas tears out from behind the bar, joining the forming crowd around the two with a rising sense of dread. They want to ask them to stop, but the ring was here for this exact reason. Let off steam, settle disagreements- and they were both adults. It didn’t stop the lead in their stomach dropping to their feet.
Kozu is at the gong, ready to ring it as soon as they both give him the signal that they’re ready.
Ding!
Cryptor lunges across the ring with deadly intent, throwing himself at Zane claws first. Zane steps out of the way and jumps back, putting that space between them. His face is tense and focused as he dodges several more strikes to Cryptos fury. After a particular dodge, When he rests a hand on the concrete wall of the ring, a layer of frost swirls from his fingertips. The moment he notices it, he flinches and yanks his hand away, clearly attempting to will away the reaction. Zane's too distracted to dodge Cryptors next blow, the fist across his jaw causing him to slam into the wall with a grunt.
“Yes!” Cryptor crows, “Finally! I am so tired of this cat and mouse. Fight me!”
Zane nods to himself and stands up, putting up his fists and finally going on the offense. This time, when Cryptor dashes at him for another swing, his dodge is accompanied by a foot at Cryptors ankle that causes him to stumble. No time to get his footing, Cryptor stumbles and isn’t ready for Zanes' kick. He aims directly between his shoulder blades and Cryptor slams face first into the side of the ring with a grunt, recovering quickly and stumbling back to his feet. It goes on like this for longer than a typical fight in the ring, and Zane’s retaliation becomes increasingly more brutal until he cracks the concrete floor with a heel strike intended for Cryptor's throat.
Finally, Cryptor gets the advantage, but just as he goes for the finishing blow- a staff of pure ice springs from Zane's hand, blocking the blow before it could land.
Something changes. The air grows colder, thinner. It’s harder to breathe. From Zane's feet, a thin patina of ice forms jagged and sharp across the floor.
When Cryptor goes to attack, his feet slip. Zane looks at his opponent-
Cas doesn’t breathe.
Zanes eyes are empty, cold, and detached. As Cryptor struggles to get back to his feet, there is no mercy in Zane's' eyes.
Cryptor curses and scrambles on ice. Zane flicks his wrist and ice encases Cryptors arms up to the elbow and his feet to the knees. He’s immobile, unable to escape. Pinned like a bug. Kozu shrinks the gong again, signaling the match has ended.
Zane won.
Pulling at his hands Cryptor groans, “You would pull something like this.” He spits venomously.
The air gets colder. He’s standing over Cryptor and Cas can’t see his face, but he watches Cryptors. He watches the way Cryptors annoyance bleeds into fear- real fear, bone chilling fear as he looks up at Zane. The staff in his hand flattens at the end and forms a razor sharp and deadly blade.
“The fight is over!” Cas calls, firmly.
Zane turns to look at them. The electric blue of his eyes are glowing in the shadows cast on his face. Cas chokes on a wave of cold that suffocates the room.
He’s going to kill Cryptor. He’s going to kill everyone.
“Zane.” Cas coughs out, and that breaks the spell. Zane jerks, dropping the staff that turns to snow before it hits the ground. The oppressive chill lifts, and Zane leaps over the rim of the ring and basically flies out of the door before anyone can even think about catching him.
Anyone other than Cas, of course, who’s on his heels the moment he’s out the door.
“Zane!” He calls again, the two of them scrambling up the fire escape of the apartment complex two blocks down from the bar. She hauls herself up on the roof after him, “Zane, talk to me-”
“That is why I do not fight with the ninja- why I am not allowed to fight with the ninja.” Zane spits out, stumbling against an air conditioning unit. Ice crawls from his fingers immediately, covering the unit and causing it to groan unappreciatively.
Cas gets to their feet, “What is?”
“I am a killer. I was going to kill him.” He takes a shuddering breath, so uncanny to see on a nindroid.
“But you did not.” approaching cautiously, Cas tries to find the words Zane needs to hear.
“I wanted to.” He yanks his hands off the AC, staring down at his palms accusingly, “If I hadn’t snapped out of it I would have killed everyone in that room.”
“Zane…”
“I have to go. I need- I need to go.” He turns around to face Cas and he looks so tired and scared and Cas can’t make any of it better, “I’m sorry.”
“Zane!” Cas calls, but he doesn’t follow the man when he disappears into the night.
When Cas comes back to the bar, the spectacle still has people buzzing,”Hey, you okay?” Cas asks Cryptor, who’s sitting behind the bar again. His ice bonds had turned to snow when Zane had made his escape.
“I’m fine.” He doesn’t elaborate, and Cas knows he’s not telling the truth. They won’t get anything else out of him until the bar closes and everyone is gone, “How’s your boyfriend?” he adds icily.
Cas winces, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to run off and abandon you. It was just so… out of character.”
Cryptor sits in silence for a moment, “...Yes, it was.” He admits, and there's a flicker of fear in his eye that’s swallowed up by newfound respect.
“And he’s not my boyfriend.”
“Yet.” Kozu adds for her, “Did you catch him?”
“Yes, but he wasn’t interested in having a discussion about what happened. He stopped long enough to tell me he needed space.” Cas glances over at the fighting ring, at the crater where Zane had nearly shattered Cryptors skull, “...I don’t think he’ll be back for a while.”
She doesn’t see Zane again for two weeks.
She’d gone on a walk to get some fresh air after moping around their apartment for a while, mood weird and unpleasant. The park was nice around mid-day like this, and as he walks around the pleasant landscaping and thoughtfully placed benches, she sees him sitting in the grass next to the pond. She stops walking, staring at the back of his head for a long moment, unable to decide whether to move forward or turn away. What was the right move?
Zane makes that decision for them. He twitches then looks around- maybe he’d been able to feel Cas’s gaze- twisting around and spotting them down the path. He smiles and it’s only slightly strained, offering a friendly wave.
So Cas joins him, “Hey. Do you mind if I sit?”
“Not at all.” He’s holding a bag of corn, which isn’t as weird as it could have been. The ducks are all over him, begging for treats. One is even sitting in his lap, enjoying gentle pets.
There’s a pause, several moments of peace, “I’ve missed you at the bar.”
Zane winces, “I have been meaning to come back.” He offers Cas a handful of corn and they’re both swarmed by waterfowl before they can blink.
“What happened back there, Zane?”
He winces again, this time turning his face away in shame, “I…”
He doesn’t finish, and Cas is okay with that. They feed the ducks quietly for a long time before another word is spoken.
“After the pyro vipers invasion in Ninjago City, I died.” He says suddenly, “That is the closest thing I can describe it as. Death. I was sent away to another realm. My memories were erased, and I did a great deal of unforgivable things. Things I never would have done before.”
“Zane…”
“I changed. My friends brought me back, but it is all wrong now.” He scratches a duck under its beak, “When I fight, I aim to kill.”
“Sometimes, to protect people, it is necessary.”
“You do not understand. The end goal is death in any fight, no matter how insignificant. Part of me does not see the point in mercy- and that is not all. So many of my principles, the things that made me who I am, have been destroyed or changed because of my time in the Never Realm. I came to your bar that first night because I did not know who I was. There was no way I had to act inside those walls. The monastery is suffocating and ill-fitting, there is so much expectation. I have to be the version of myself from before the Never Realm, but I am not that man anymore.”
Cas allows the silence to settle for a moment, “Who are you?”
“I am still trying to figure that out.” The ducks pick his handful of corn clean, waddling away when he doesn’t move to pour another handful.
Cas reaches out and places his hand on Zanes' empty one, “If you need help figuring it out, you are always welcome at my place.”
He smiles softly and Cas loves the way his expression warms, “Thank you, Cas. I’ll keep that in mind.”
“The bar is closed right now. Would you like to join me for a sparring session?”
Zane pins them with an incredulous look and Cas laughs a little, “Nothing serious that might trigger blood lust. I am thinking that casual, low stakes combat might help you reign in some of your natural reactions.”
Zane hums, “It is possible… I am interested, yes.”
After emptying out the last of the corn for their feathered friends, Cas and Zane walk back to the bar in companionable silence. It’s quiet and still inside, so when they walk through the door Cryptor is immediately aware of their arrival, “Look who the Cas dragged in.” He snarks.
“Hello, Cryptor.” Zane responds wryly, then frowns and hesitates, “About our fight…”
Cryptor holds up a hand to stop him, giving him an unimpressed stare, “Don’t ruin my new respect for you by doing something stupid like apologizing.”
Zane cracks a weak smile, “Understood.”
Cryptor holds out his fist so Zane can bump it, “Good job.” He says begrudgingly. Then, with a smirk, “You left your jacket, you know. Cas has been keeping it safe.” he leans in close, “They won’t stop wearing it.”
“THANK YOU Cryptor! Okay! you can leave now.” Cas physically shoos him up the stairs while he snickers.
Mortified, Cas slowly turns around to face Zane. He’s smiling wider, “It’s a very comfortable jacket.” He says graciously, but the teasing undertone in his voice makes a bit of heat flush Cas’s cheeks.
“Let’s just get to sparring.” She mutters, hoping the fight will mask her blush.
Zane was a formidable opponent before the Never Realm, and now he’s downright vicious. Cas stops the fight several times when Zane's attacks go from friendly jabs to focused and dangerous, centering Zane before they continue. Zane catches himself a few times too, smiling triumphantly when he starts to recognize his patterns and triggers so he can work with them safely. They’ve been exchanging friendly jabs and maybe a few suggestive moments in close combat, but it all culminates when Cas gets a lucky leap at Zane. He trips backwards and Cas lands on top of him, pinning his hands to the floor with a victorious cheer. Cas is sweating and breathing hard, and Zane looks just as perfect as he did that morning at the pond.
The air goes thick with tension.
Zane shifts his pinned palms so their fingers can lace together. The smile on his face grows warmer, more open and inviting. Cas leans down slowly, waiting for any signs of resistance but there is none.
His eyes flutter shut as they come closer, close enough to feel the slight chill that radiates off Zane against their lips-
“Cas!” Kozu calls urgently, clobbering down the stairs. Cas jumps off Zane, scrambling to their feet awkwardly.
Cryptor is clinging to him and tugging backwards, trying to haul him back up the stairs, “Kozu shut up! They are having a moment!”
“I am sorry to interrupt, but I believe you need to be made aware of the situation in downtown Ninjago.” Kozu says briskly, flipping on the TV above the bar.
Zane bolts to the bar at the sight of his friends. Fugidove is robbing Ninjagos history museum with a gang of lackeys as help, but it seems the hired muscle is more interested in fighting than money. Fugidove looks nervous and keeps trying to get them to retreat, but they’re all engaged in a brawl with the ninja that looks more brutal with each passing second. Zane darts for his sweater and phone, opening it to a wall of notifications from his friends.
“They need my help.” He says gravely, looking back at the screen. His hands are shaking, just barely. What if he can’t control himself?
Cas puts a hand on his shoulder, “You can do this.”
Zane reaches up and squeezes her hand appreciatively before blowing out a breath of icy air, “I will be back later tonight.” He promises before he disappears out the door.
He doesn’t come back.
Cas watches a nightmare unfold on the screen once Zane arrives at the fight. Cryptor and Kozu have been grilling them over what exactly they’d walked in on when Zane's white gi catches Cas’s attention. He throws himself into the fray and for a while, he keeps himself together. No unnecessary violence.
And then he’s hit.
A man manages a lucky kick and he stumbles backwards- another blow to the back of the knee and he falls just right so his temple slams against the curb of the sidewalk. There’s an ugly, viscous looking crack that’s leaking dark fluid.
The man is mortally wounded before the broadcast can realize what’s about to happen and cut the air. His body is still and stiff where spires of ice have slammed through skin and bone. The concrete is splattered with blood. Zane staggers to his feet and raises his hand again, towards the remaining men- a loud TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES banner pops up on the screen, and Cas is so worried for Zane he feels ill. He darts for his phone and snatches it up before just staring at it. They had Zane's' number, had gotten it the night of his fight with Cryptor, before the brawl.
He calls.
It goes straight to voicemail.
Every chair, table, couch- even the liquor bottles and glasses behind the bar- glows purple and rises up off the ground. Cas reminds himself to breathe and everything lands with a clatter (or a crash, but Cas didn’t care about destroying a few bottles of rum in the wake of that broadcast.)
“I should have gone with him.” Cas whispers, reigning in their powers.
It’s 2 hours of pacing and checking NGTV.com before the headlines hit: SKIRMISH IN DOWNTOWN NINJAGO LEAVES 11 INJURED AND NINJA MISSING. The news had cut at the first sign of blood, but that hadn’t stopped Zane's' rampage. Ten of those injuries had been bad enough to send them to the hospital, with four in the ICU with grim prospects. To top it off, Zane fled the scene and is unable to be located by anyone- not the police, and not his friends.
Cas closes the bar for the night.
“What are you going to do?” Cryptor asks while Cas scribbles out a note to tape to the door so his regulars don’t waltz in.
“I am going to look for him.” He says firmly, “He does not need to be alone right now.”
“You know where he would go?” Kozu inquiries.
“No, but I have to try.” They pull their shawl tighter around their shoulder, bee-lining for the door.
Kozu and Cryptor both follow them, exchanging a sidelong glance, “Is this wise?” Kozu asks gently.
“He almost killed those guys. What if he attacks you?”
“I can handle it.” And before they can ask any more questions, Cas is gone.
It’s 4 am when they drag themself back into the empty, quiet bar. All alone. They went to the park where they fed ducks, scoured rooftops and back alleys, checked out any break-ins, and even peeked through the windows of the Mechanics newest hideout just to be sure. Zane was nowhere to be found. Cas double checked and did a lap around the city to be certain, but she was still half human and her exhaustion was catching up with her. She needed sleep, they could try again in the morning.
He decides to try his phone one more time, trotting up the stairs to their apartment. They open the door as they hit call, pressing the phone to their ear as they kick off their boots.
In their apartment, deep enough to be out of sight of the entrance, a cell phone rings.
He’s around the corner before he can think, peeling around the corner to come face to face with Zane. Well, Zane's back. He’s faced away from them, staring at the mantle still and motionless. There’s no telling how long he’s been standing there. His phone is tossed aside along with his shurikens, both streaked with oil.
“Zane.” Cas breathes, “I was so worried-”
“What is all of this.” Zane cuts them off, voice flat.
“What?”
Zane doesn’t respond and after a heartbeat it clicks. There were mementos of his father, things he kept on the mantle or the bookshelf right beside it. News clippings, scrolls, photos… the most damning one a picture of him and his father.
The silence grows thick with tension, “He was my father.” he says quietly.
Zane whips around and his eyes glow in the darkness of their apartment, “Your father? You- what is this? Is it revenge?”
“No-!”
“Were you going to trick me, manipulate me into developing feelings for you then- then-”
“Do you really think I would-”
“I do not know!” He snaps, his hands come up to grip his forehead. The crack on his temple looks worse in person, “I thought I knew you, but clearly I do not.”
“What happened between you and my father is in the past,” Cas says firmly, taking a step closer to Zane.
Zane clenches his eyes shut, “I killed him. I killed all those people. I am a monster.” He’s clearly in the middle of a massive breakdown, shaking all over.
“No, Zane.” Cas dares to take another step forward, “You’re not a monster. I am sorry I kept this from you, but I am not angry with you over what happened.” He reaches out, “That fight… Sometimes good people do bad things.”
“Am I a good person?” He opens his eyes and they seem dimmer now, and Zane is swaying on his feet, “I do not know that either. I don’t know who I am anymore.”
Cas rounds the edge of the couch and manages to catch Zane right as his legs give out. He’s been awake too long- even Nindroids need to sleep. Cas feels touched that he came here to rest, even if it had unintended consequences, “You don’t have to have it all figured out. We can find out who you are now together, Zane- but I can guarantee that you are not a monster.”
Zane slumps against them and Cas carefully places him on the couch, wrapping a blanket around him. He sits quietly on his recliner, watching over him as the sun begins to rise.
He opens his eyes at noon, blinking awake sprawled out on the chair with a blanket he certainly hadn’t grabbed tucked around her.
They get to their feet slowly, coaxed into the kitchen by the smell of hot coffee.
Zane is there at the breakfast nook. There’s two cups of coffee on the table, and he smiles weakly when he sees her. The crack on his head is packed with paper towels and wrapped up with gauze, and he looks leagues better than he did last night.
“We should talk.”
Cas is surprised at how smoothly it goes. Zane is a great deal calmer than he was last night, able to really understand and hear Cas’s words rather than give in to panic and fear. They discuss guilt and forgiveness and finally, where they go from here.
“I enjoy spending time with you, Zane.” Cas says honestly. “I am interested in seeing where this goes.”
Zane is quiet for a long moment, “I meant what I said last night. I do not know who I am. If you want the white ninja… he is not here any longer.”
Cas reaches over and touches the tips of Zane's fingers with her own, “I have no expectations of you, Zane. I meant what I said too- I want to be there while you figure it all out, either as your friend or…”
Zane smiles softly, “Thank you, Cas. I… I want that as well.”
“Let's not label anything yet then. We can let it happen naturally, however that may come about.” Zane agrees with Cas’s suggestion.
Several moments of calm silence pass before Zane's phone dings and he winces, “...I believe I must go home now.”
“Your friends?”
He glances at the notification, “They are… not upset with me. Just worried.”
Cas nods, “Understandable. I will walk you to the door.”
They take the stairs down in silence and blissfully Cryptor and Kozu are nowhere to be found. They get to the door and Zane takes in a rush of air to fortify himself.
“I’ll see you soon?” Cas asks.
Zane smiles before he reaches out to squeeze Cas's hand, “Tomorrow night.” He promises, “I would tonight but I do not believe my friends will let me out of their sight.” He jokes.
“Tomorrow night, then.” Cas hesitates, “And Zane… My name is Hesperia. Cas is only a nickname.”
“Hesperia.” Zane tests out quietly, “I like it.” He smiles and laces their fingers together for a moment, a simple goodbye, and then he’s gone.
“Ooo, someone has a boyfriend!!!” Cryptor materializes out of the stock room, giggling all the way.
“Be quiet.” Cas snaps, but can’t hide their smile.

WEALTHY S/O [ LLOYD, KAI + JAY ]
lloyd garmadon
he is so not used to being spoiled, but it's very likely something he'll end up getting used to after time.
and he's actually really impressed how you pick up on the small signs of him wanting something
the first time around it happens, he gets all bashful, because he was totally not expecting to get that new gi he'd been eyeing a couple of days prior.
you literally have to reassure lloyd several times that its okay and you don't need anything in return
you'll still end up getting a thank you card for every thing you buy him regardless (he's very stubborn when he wants to be!)
but again, he's really not used to the spoiling so sometimes he might ask if you can tone it down. he feels really bad afterwards and you'll need to give him lots of cheek kisses + reassurance.
for all your sweet deeds, its very common for him to set up a little day where he spends all his time trying to return the favor to you.
it ends up becoming a lazy day with lots of cuddling because you tend to just want his affection/company in the end ^^
kai smith
you cannot tell me kai isn't something of a material girl
he's a bit hesitant to constantly receive things from you at first, but it doesn't take much time at all for him to become accustomed to the spoiling.
he starts grinning all widely and goes "thanks, babe" everytime so honestly, it's very worth it.
kai was already whipped for you, but he's practically cream at this point.
sunglasses? expensive name-brand hair gel? very pretty heeled boots (you can fight me on that hc, he wears them) ー you purchase them for him without hesitation, and really he never stops talking about how amazing you are.
if you let him, he'll shower you with affection! plus kai tries to take you out on dates in return, insisting on paying the bills/fees all by his lonesome (rip his wallet but its all worth it).
there are times when he feels like he's asking for too much, so he'd cut down on his requests (just reassure him n everything will be fine)
he would occasionally make jokes about being your “sugar baby” but stopped after wu walked in on him saying it one time..
jay walker
literally worships you and the ground you walk on
especially after you bought him a new video game console (cole was very jealous, but as jay's bestie he was given playing privilege's).
"i love you i love you i love youー"
you honestly continue to spoil him because seeing how bright he glows is way too addicting.
jay would literally do odd jobs around ninjago city to rack up on money to spend on you
he buys cheap but meaningul gifts, like cheesy coffee mugs, flowers, or even scarves (his fave accessory!!)
seeing him sheepishly offer said thing to you is really heartwarming, considering he's stuttering up a storm like you won't love it. but you totally do
definitely brags about you, most of the time it makes everyone want to slam their heads against the wall
and if you buy something for his parents?? fsm, he might just have to go and marry you (jay loves that kind of thoughtfulness so much!)

Ninjago card game except it's literally just everything canon and non-canon and is entirely nonsense
"Okay I equip Grimfax with the Obsidian Scythe so I end my turn." "ALRIGHT I PLAY ROBOT MANAGER FROM WU'S TEAS WITH PYTHOR'S NAGINATA ON THE ROCKET BOARD FROM CHENS ISLAND!" "YOU FOOL! THANKS TO MY YINYANG DRAGON SUPPORT CARD I AM IMMUNE TO ALL NEUTRAL CHARACTERS! YOUR PATHETIC ANDROID DOES NOTHING AGAINST ME."

Random hcs I have because I may be cringe but I'm free part 24 (Ninjago)
My hcs on side-interests the ninja have. There will be little to no reasoning for most of these except I got the feeling (I'm not even going to attempt further explanation) Enjoy 👍
Kai: I've always thought that weapons (especially swords) and blacksmithing are def a huge special interest for him but I also feel like he would be into spiders and scorpions. If anybody else on the team started freaking out about a spider in the house (or the occasional scorpion on a mission) that he knows is harmless, he would definitely pick it up and chase them around with it (Jay is his most frequent victim). He's also into mixology. You know why.
Jay: Not gonna lie, had a hard time thinking about one for him, then I remembered he said he was into model building in the pilots and we never heard or saw of it again so yea, he gets to build little models. Considering how stressed out he gets in tough situations, I think he would really enjoy feeling like he's in total control of every little detail, and its probably good for blueprinting/practicing for new inventions.
Cole: This one kinda relates to his canon art interest but I feel like he would be really into old school cartoons. I'm talking black and white stuff. He would probably really enjoy that style and how outlandish some of those old characters could get in an age where there were a lot less boundaries. He would never try animating for himself but if he sees something he likes, he'll sit there and analyze one clip frame by frame until he understands.
Zane: BIRDS (I feel like these are just getting more and more canon compliant but whatever) You cannot tell me bro isn't an avid birdwatcher. Why else would Dr. Julien specifically choose a bird design when the aim was to make a friend for Zane? Bro could name all the native bird species for any region of Ninjago without needing to look it up. The birds like him back, too. Dude looks like a whole Disney princess everytime he relaxes outside cause all the nearby birds just flock to him and rest on his shoulders.
Nya: Much like Cole, Nya's into the classics, except she's strictly into movies, and not so classic that they're black and white. Annie, Braveheart, Alien, Predator, Crocodile Dundee, Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, Rocky, etc. if it came out before the year 2000, she's seen it and enjoyed it (she cried during Braveheart because we're actually really similar and I cried during Braveheart so now she does too). Despite how offensive some of that older stuff can be, she's never started a movie (or even sometimes a series of movies) that she couldn't finish.
Lloyd: Whatever the Ninjago equivalent of Pokémon is. You saw how much of a nerd he was, especially when he was still little, and especially about Starfarer. You're telling me he wouldn't freak out about something that has a show and a card game!? Even after he's been aged-up for a while, he still has and adds to his card collection and he still holds it VERY near and dear to his heart. After seeing how well the Starfarer thing worked, he has been slowly recruiting Jay so he can finally play against someone and get some use out of his collection, and its working.

Weird ideas are my favourite hobby.
Kaguya and Ninjago...
I've been thinking about this au for a very long time, so in a way, but I'm not sure I'll ever realize it in fanfic format.
So I'll leave it here as a reminder of a flight of imagination at three in the morning.
Wu as the principal of Destiny School, true to the old traditions, has been in office for decades, while also running a defense circle with the kids.
Morro as the former president of the institution, was a very strict man with a strong will, who greatly valued discipline and hard work in people.
Being Wu's adopted child, he greatly appreciated the care he had received, and wishing the old man all the best, tried by his rules and innovations not to dishonor the honor of the school.
Lloyd began to live with them from the age of 11, when his father went into a mental hospital. His mother he never saw, and the only relative was only Wu. It was very hard for a teenager to adapt to a new atmosphere, especially when your uncle is not a particularly tactile person and your older brother is demanding about details.
The only friends at the new school were a few guys and Harumi, after a scandal with whom Lloyd completely closes himself off from the world.Homeschooled for a few years with a lonely life before the new president calls him to a committee, giving the kid a chance to go back to school.
I think both Cole and Skylor could fit the role of president. Issues with dads, never saw their mom, calm and responsible leaders. And rich.
And for the role of Kaguya...
Kai as an impatient and driven guy, aspiring to become the school's president while taking the vice-president's seat.
Eager to prove to himself that he is capable of being a good leader, Smith collects almost half of the votes and draws up a program of innovations if he wins the election.
But Morro prevents him from becoming one, angrily poking Kai about his poor grades in science classes.
"The president should have a perfect report card in ALL subjects to be a role model. Your messing around with tangents and cotangents doesn't make you that example."
Even after having a serious fight with the brunet, Kai heeds his words and does well in all subjects the following year. But not fine, becoming vice president.
With Skylor, he'll be more half-flirting-half-arguing while working, constantly saying he'll beat her by a few votes next year.
With Cole, he'll be more competitive and argumentative, fighting him with a piece of sausage at times.
The role of treasurer could go to Pixal with her calculations and logical mind. She will calm the whole committee down if Wu abruptly tells them about the guests from France flying in next week.
The secretary will be Jay, who is the only one who will keep the committee from dying into a routine with his jokes. Oh, and video games, of course.
Akita, as Iino, will be trying to become the new president, having Zane and Lloyd as her cheerleaders.
