So, Rebels Remembered is March 5th, and my birthday was March 7th, and since it’s my 20th and I love Rebels and the Thrawn books, I wanted to go big! So uh…. I made a very complicated cake/display dessert

The cake is simple chocolate cake, carved into the shape of an ISD, and covered with grey buttercream. The buttercream has subtle lines indented into it to make it look slightly more mechanical.

The Marocsaa symbol is a single ISD-shaped pane of red isomalt, painted with black food colouring to make the snakes.

Lothal and Csilla are hollow chocolate spheres covered in royal icing and painted, the ships and purgill royal icing that has been painted and stuck on sticks before being stuck to the planets. The planets' hollow insides are filled with candy, a mixture of blue and white sharks whales, red nibs, and dark chocolate covered cranberries. (And no, I didn’t realize how Thrawn-y that mixture was until I was holding all of it. It wasn’t intentional)

The cookies are sugar cookies, decorated with coloured or painted royal icing.

Above: The chiss ship is pulled from the Thrawn comic book, it’s what Ar’alani gets Eli with. I’d assume it’s a Nightdragon man-o-war, but I don’t think that was ever confirmed. All of these are hand painted with food colouring and vodka, and that’s a regular toothpick for scale. (The white shapes above are my backup blanks in case I broke one of them. I didn't!)

Above: I used royal icing to outline the ISD shape, and then poured the isomalt in. The design was painted on afterwards, using a reference underneath so I could trace.

I think after all the years in CEDF, Vah'nya deserves her own insignia/pin. Also needed fleet insignias for the bridge crew as well.
