Milan-based, French artist and designer Nathalie Du Pasquier need no introduction. Co-founder of #Memphis Group, she applied her creativity in a wide range of discipline, from textiles and carpets to furniture and objects before turning to painting in 1987. Her evolution from figurative, still-life compositions toward pure abstractions was documented in three concurrent exhibitions in June, including an installation entitled “Constellation” for A Palazzo Gallery @apalazzogallery in #Brescia, Italy. Taking over an entire floor of the gallery’s historic 16th century palazzo, the exhibition comprised new works on canvas displayed alongside a three-dimensional architectural painting exemplifying the important role both architecture and drawing play in Du Pasquier’s multifaceted practice. . . “Adoptive Parents”, inspired by #masanoriumeda’s “Tawaraya” boxing ring and everything that is #memphismilano — growing up our family moved houses a lot (SIX TIMES) and I didn’t really get the chance to get settled into this room because of National Service and after that because of college here in Kuala Lumpur.
