Mini Wandering Jews 🌿🌿 I made different houseplant for Indian traditional decor room. I really like the colour shades of this plant and try to make same colour shades. Tradescantia zebrina (Wandering jews) has attractive zebra-patterned leaves, the upper surface showing purple new growth and green older growth parallel to the central axis, as well as two broad silver-colored stripes on the outer edges, with the lower leaf surface presenting a deep uniform magenta. It is commonly available and used as a houseplant and groundcover, aggressively colonizing new areas when left undisturbed. This lamp has a story behind it. It is more than fifty years old as I have known it. So may be it is older. It is what we call down here in South India Nachiar Vilakku. They normally come in pairs. Almost every household has at least one. This pair has seen three households including mine. They have borne witness to the ups and downs of all three. While they have been lit in times of birth, celebrations, illness and death they have more importantly been lit for courage and wisdom to see them through all the stages with equanimity. They have seen souls come before them and pass on through them. They carry the weight of human expectations, aspirations, fear, sadness, joy and ecstasy of three generations that I know of. The soft glow has not diminished one bit and continues to inspire and instill confidence in my household.
