A morning on the way to Baldur's Gate. The party booked themselves into an inn and enjoyed real beds, hot baths, and privacy for the first time since the Nautiloid.

Gale and Mayhew shared a room, of course. They were filled with the relief of surviving the shadows and the glow of finally getting together, so their private room was probably a blessing for the whole party, honestly.

This was some ascended anatomy practice! Referenced some great stock from @null-entity.

#some people speed run the galemance but i played it as the world's longest slow burn #act 1 was fuuull of uneven feelings and perceived unrequited feelings and slow-building respect #mayhew was immediately down bad & suffering after the weave scene. Plus Gale's lukewarm reaction to flirting felt like people-pleasing #gale slowly emerged from his depression hole much later and only then caught real feelings - but the orb put paid to acting on them #so in my game they simply had a very loaded laden-with-unspoken-feelings friendship until near the end of act 2 #they got like one (1) week of happiness before the horrors of act 3 hit. starting with Mayhew getting unwillingly astral tadpole'd #it's tragic and i love it #also: chubby gale. tumblr do you see my vision #mayhew sees my vision #please also appreciate mayhew's bed head and the too-big-for-gnomes dishware. i chuckled about those #my art #mayhew #gale dekarios #gnome tav #gale x tav #bg3 #baldur's gate 3

I pictured this as the epilogue for my Tav. she marries Zevlor, they build an orphanage in the city, then adopt Fevrokis and all the stray cats they find c:

they're at Bloomridge Park here. it has been a few hours, but no one wants to go home xD I picture Scratch being with them too, just not visible.

I'm really sad you can't help Fevrokis at all. I hc Zevlor is good with kids and would take him in right away. I also thought it was interesting how one of his early lines is: "There are children here, you fool!" which establishes his character right away.

I made a post the other a few months back about how nice it is to have a character who wants marriage but doesn't want children via gale and I just want to add on to that because I see so many people who draw him as a dad and it gave me a visceral reaction.. I'd never like comment on their stuff because like people are allowed to make their happy endings be whatever they want obviously but I think it bothers me so much because, (and this is really really rampant in the bg3 community worse then in any other Fandom I'm in)

People really don't like these characters a lot of the time? And it shows really poignantly when they see a character have an opinion they don't like and go "he doesn't mean that lol it's just cause he's afraid he wouldn't be a good parent and We know he would"

But would he? Why does him being a good, kind, loving and warm person immediately mean he'd be a good parent?

People project these weird fantasies onto the characters that just absolutely throw in the trash the way the characters are actually written and what makes them so beautiful.

A better example is with astarion, there has been like a billion tiktok videos unpacking it but it's also some thing me and my sister have talked about a lot.

I'd say like 60%, if not more, of the people who claim to be astarion fans think that ascending him his morally good and project this weird dark romance book bad boy persona onto him. Or rather, they literally never see him for more then the facade he puts up.

Those specific Astarion fans hear the line 'I don't know If I want anyone to see me in a sexual way" and plug their ears because that ruins the hot sexed up fuck me vampire they want him to be.

And it, as silly as I know This is, genuinely triggers me to see it.

Again people can enjoy their Fandom, I just scroll on by im not gonna moral police Someones fun but it's like, so very sad to me to see these characters stripped of their personalities and be so fundamentally misunderstood.

Anyway back to the point specifically, seeing people envisioning him as a dad or with children and with their pregnant characters feels like a weird kind of disrespect to me. He uses dialog that is often used by people who don't want kids when explaining that feeling.. And as someone who doesn't want kids I think it makes me feel like a level of my own personal Choice is being stomped.

People who draw gale with kids even tho he has said he didn't want to be A father feels too close to home for me with people telling me I'll change my mind about not wanting kids and I'll get over it.

Anyway tldr I'm just being a piss baby that fans make gale a have kids💁

I am so... empty and happy and idk... experiencing withdrawal after that baldur's gate 3 epilogue yall

I can't get over everything around the endgame scenes with Karlach and Astarion (and I mean the "good" endings!), I am literally still processing it days later 😭

Plus Gale being a professor, free of the orb?? Shadowheart being at peace, finding herself and able to adopt the Owlbear?? Her visiting Gale and Tara for tea??? Making her own cider and wanting to do a reunion party every year??? Being invited to lecture Gale's students and bring Astarion too and also stay and chat in his tower??? Halsin gets to be a dad like he's always wanted with all the orphans??? Karlach has hope for a new engine and may return home and might be more than friends with Wyll??? Lae'zel raging her dream, riding red dragons and learning to be more diplomatic? Jaheira being Jaheria and Minsc visiting Astarion much to his dismay (and somehow when he's not with my Tav in the Underdark or looking for a cure lol)?? Just... everyone living their best lives??? All of the hugs!???? My heart is so full the more I think about it but I also want to see it in the game and not my head 😭

Only issue is who gets Scratch??? Where has he been the past 6 months and where is he staying afterwards?? Did I miss this detail??

Basically that epilogue is so so wholesome and hopeful. Got me feeling like this once again

#bg3 #myart #wip #I want to make every tav/companion pairing I have a dedicated. fancy piece.#these started with a concept for a wyll drawing that was very...storybook! inspired.#I would have been done all the linework for these two pieces by now had my weekend gone better :/#I was violently unwell for...about a week and a half? chronic illness bullshit. had started to feel better friday of last week...#...unfortunately fate had it that the weekend ended up being particularly stressful. so the pain returned anew.#it was. somewhat better today. but still not enough for me to really be productive in my free time :(#I will try to complete the linework tomorrow if all goes well. I really would like to start colouring them!#I have delightful colour schemes chosen...#gale/illamin piece has already been sketched in a notebook. once I finish these two- I will begin lining theirs!#illamin's connects to cadence's because they're intertwined like that. but I have yet to finish planning out cadence's piece.#I've gone back and forth on who I should romance with him...the thing with any of the companions is that they are all written to be-#-immensely compatible with each other. so writing a tav FOR a specific companion is a bit hard. often the tav could fit with any of them.#hell. I'm STILL working out details of jantar and corydalis' story & characters. because I can't be normal about this.#that aside- I DO have other. finished pieces...finally.#well. I had some long before... but I didn't want to post them because I wasn't happy with them.#so I went and finished new stuff that I DO like.#4. technically 5 drawings. all horror/horror adjacent in theme.#my extremely detailed hux painting is also NEARLY done. after months upon months of work.#and I continue to slowly chip away at the big scifi themed dbd piece I've had in progress.#I really never run out of things to draw and it's a bit torturous because I never have the time or energy to draw everything...

10/10 absolutely normal things to ask of the githyanki you are in love with after you watched him discover that everything he believed in was a lie, betray his queen to save his companions, murder his people for a mindflayer and then sell his soul to a devil hoping this will finally save his people and all of this after you asked him the impossible (fix the shadowcurse) and he did it mostly because of you and you have no idea of how to deal with that as you are also learning what it means to live without single minded devotion to a single cause (and also you just freed yourself from the duty of being an archdruid and already threw yourself in the duty of being a companion in a place you hate that goes against everything you believe)

#antiqua plays bg3 #bg3: ves'i'ran #bg3 ves'i'ran #love it when my ships are forced to recognise the self in the other and then it gets REALLY uncomfortable #as always i did not spoil myself for any of halsin' romance scenes so this was all just a delight to me #halsin's romance is written like this due to him being poly and also prone to turn to a bear but in the context of a githyanki character #it's like well. he has first row to you deprogramming yourself and now he wants to be very clear that he does not want to be another thing #a githyanki tav will dedicate themselves to. he knows what it means to dedicate yourself to one cause and one cause only #and what he wants now is comfort and happiness and joy and that's what he wants to share with you #thinking #once again not an halsin scholar so do not trust me on this #fucking that old man WILL fix him this time though.

"Astarion, want to see a magic trick?" Tav forces himself to sound mockingly serious but lighthearted. "You really are spending too much time with Gale. But alright, I'll indulge you," Astarion clicks his tongue, crosses his arms and shifts his weight onto one leg, "What is it? Is it something dirty?" he bends forward, smirking. Tav narrows his eyes. "Nah, it's better than that. I think it will blow you away," he retorts, feeling a sudden spark of boldness from Astarion's teasing. Or, Tav learns to create a Mirror Image of other people. He can finally show Astarion what he looks like. Set at the very end of Act 2.

A.k.a Tav knows magic & shows Astarion what he looks like, Faerûn, around 1492 DR, colorized.
