this might not seem all THAT silly or dorky . but when you remember he’s a 6′4 slutty man that has a Terrible reputation & can look absolutely terrifying , it is actually very dorky . especially when you think about said man playing arcade fair games to win a gd massive frog pillow . but jokes on him bc he didn’t actually win . frankie did . did she cheat ? possibly ! jury is out . but she stands by her argument that it’s not her fault he gets distracted by her , he should learn to focus better . she did , however , end up giving him said prize bc she did actually want to win it for him .

nicholas haven ( ft . tai rakena ) circa 2020 just a few months before he left & only 7 hours after they got the call that they’d just booked what was meant to be their biggest gig down in la to date bc naturally ... they spent the night celebrating . just the 4 of them . just in that last work bay . bc that’s all it’s ever been . definitley were all half delirious, & 3/4 had had a little too much, when this was taken . but they were all Very Happy . so much so that it wasn’t long after this photo was taken that both frankie & izzy piled on top of the 2 boys .

the manager had been found . the record deal had been signed . their first ever single was a Hit . & they have just finished overseeing the last little bits of mixing on the final song needed for their debut album & it is ... a little bit unbelievable . none of them can quite believe it . none of it has sunk in . & they all need a bit of time out to process . tai & izzy have gone to their respective partners / homes to chill . but frankie & nicky end up finding a lil spot in some park nearby bc it feels like they haven’t seen or felt the sun in years & proceed to spend the next few hours just existing . slowly & surely though they both get to the point where it’s holy shit , we just finished an album .

Oh myyyy. Well since they’re books and movies, I’ll do both.

my all-time ultimate fave character:

Dobby. He is noble and kind and sweet and unflinching. And he died a free elf.

a character I didn’t used to like but now do:

Snape. I will honestly vomit on anyone who dares say “Snape did nothing wrong” like oh please. He was a bully, an asshole, an abuser, and a creep, and he did awful things and supported a disgusting ideology and dispensed out violence on behalf of a would-be tyrant, and he managed to do some good in the world because of his own selfish, torturous desires. And his lines are snappy and witty and restrained and prideful, and he’s a fascinating character to read.

a character I used to like but now don’t:

Ron. Growing up, he was the friend I wish I’d had, irascibly friendly and outgoing and fun. But after re-reading the books (multiple times), I can’t help but feel so annoyed with Ron, particularly his inferiority complex and how it becomes other people’s problem, not to mention how insensitive he is and a jerk to others, especially Hermione. And yes, idc that in the actual books when Snape calls Hermione an insufferable know-it-all that Ron defended her; Goblet of Fire comes along and when Hermione gets attacked with acid by one of Rita’s fans, all he can say is “told you not to piss her off” as Hermione cries and runs out of the Great Hall to the Slytherins (and some Ravenclaws) laughing at her. And this is after he completely pretended not to ruin the Yule Ball for her.

a character I’m indifferent about:

Percy Weasley. He never made a great enough impact on me for me to feel his absence when he sided with the Ministry, and his parents’ sour moods didn’t make me care.

a character who deserved better:

Cedric Diggory. Ah, the first death. Goblet of Fire really could’ve used just one brief scene near its end to really tie Harry and Cedric together, establish an actual friendship between them that would’ve made his death a gut punch, or at least reveal something about him that paints him as interesting and also worthy of being a Hogwarts champion. On my first read, I remember feeling hollowed out that a kid could die; but that’s it. He’s just the kid who died, and maybe the simplicity of that should be enough of a tragedy, but this is fiction, particularly fiction involving wizards and chocolate frogs and talking paintings and an author who insists on typing out accents for foreign characters, and I think “realism” is a bad fallback for otherwise good writing. Eschew realism for the narrative gut punch. I should’ve been in love with Cedric when he bit it and instead I thought “a kid died, yikes.”

a ship I’ve never been able to get into:

Harry/Luna. I just can’t ship Luna with anyone who’s so much more grounded than her, just as I can’t ship her with anyone who doesn’t meet her level of unflappable confidence and conviction (a la Neville). This mysterious grandson of Newt Scamander, if he’s anything like Newt, sounds like the ideal guy for her, though it would’ve been hella rad if the grandson was a granddaughter.

a ship I’ve never been able to get over:

Hermione/Viktor. I’m okay with a flame that died out. Just not okay with how intense it was presented in its canon debut, only for it to receive so little mention later, and that we never really knew where Hermione stood on her relationship with the first guy to actually see her pre-Perm.

a cute, low-key ship:

Fred/Angelina. Fred’s “Oy! Go to the ball with me?” and Angelina turning to look at him, appraising him with a lil attitude, and going “Sure” like she doesn’t care but as she turns her head, a smile betrays her happiness, that’s some cute shit.

an unpopular ship but I still enjoyed it:

Apparently, Hermione/Viktor. In any buzzfeed poll or vlog about HP ships, they don’t even get mentioned as if it never happened. Completely non-canon ships get mentioned before the “oh someone can fall in love with Hermione Granger” ship is even thought of. Also Hermione/Neville, because I like the whole “genius girl and her dorky, dimwitted and adoring boyfriend” dynamic. I also think Harry would’ve paired nicely with one of his Quidditch teammates, like Katie Bell.

a ship that was totally wrong and never should have happened:

Remus/Tonks. Remus should’ve been gay, Tonks’ role in the story should’ve been to succeed Moody as “the most badass Auror in Ministry” and become the “new” old guard. It just came out of nowhere, it had just as much “page time” as Bill and Fleur’s relationship and yet theirs was far more convincing and felt more natural despite how distant we are from the characters. Runner-up is probably George and Angelina; it feels weird that Fred and Angelina hooked up and she goes on to marry his identical twin.

my favourite storyline/moment:

Hard to pick, probably every bit of shade McGonagall threw at Umbridge, and the final confrontation between Harry and Voldemort.

a storyline that never should have been written:

Grawp. Everything to do with Grawp made me so uncomfortable. The Remus/Tonks storyline in HBP just seemed to pad on more romance to a book that was already close to saturated with romance. Ron being a jerk to Harry in GOF also really really pissed me off because it seemed so implausible that he could be that dense; it honestly would’ve been interesting if Harry had snuck down in his cloak to spy on whomever put their names in the Goblet, and his absence would’ve strengthened Ron’s doubts.

my first thoughts on the books/movies: Magical wonderful omg I love it all!

my thoughts now: Still warm, still positive, but extremely critical.

Okay, so my explanations for the Heroes and the Zeldas got really long, so I’m going to put the explanations under a cut in case anyone is interested in them, and just answer the questions short and sweet above it. :)

1.) Top 3 incarnations of Link?

The Hero of the Wild (Breath of the Wild)

The Hero of Time (Ocarina of Time/Majora’s Mask)

The Hero of Winds (Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass)

9.) Favourite Link design?

The Hero of the Wild, easily! Both in his standard outfit, and any number of the alternates we can dress him up in. ♥

And now, my explanations for my favorite incarnations of Link and Zelda are beneath the cut!

1.) Top 3 incarnations of Link?

In order:

The Hero of the Wild (Breath of the Wild) --- Words can’t really explain how much I came to love this kid over the 250 hours I spent with him while I played Breath of the Wild. Like every Hero, he’s meant to be something of a blank slate that we can imprint on, or create a personality for. So in that sense, you could say that maybe the reason why I love him so much is because I love the personality that I gave him. But even if that’s the case, it doesn’t change the fact that I do love him, and I love him a lot.I love the fact, first and foremost, that the Hero of the Wild is a determined survivor. He’s not only a survivor in that he was literally kept alive for one hundred years in the Shine of Resurrection, but that when he wakes up and goes out into the world with pretty much nothing, he’s able to find food, shelter, and weapons enough to keep himself alive. The Hero of the Wild can be given nothing but a stick and still manage to not only survive, but take down his foes, and that is some serious grit and determinaton. The Hero is always Determined; the Spirit of the Hero is an unbreakable spirit, an indomitable will. That determination is a trait shared by every Hero, but I feel it’s most exemplified in the Hero of the Wild.Beyond that, though, there’s so much else to love. I love that he loves food, and that he has just as much joy in cooking it as he does eating it. I love how dorky and cute he can be at times, but also how he can be snarky to those around him as well. I love how serious he is about his duty, but also how gentle he is with Zelda, and how he takes interest in her interests, even when she’s trying to get him to eat a frog. I love that he’s great with animals (dogs and horses alike!), but that he also understands the circle of life and does his best to be respectful with that understanding, as well. I love that he can be competitive and knows how to have fun, that he’s not infallible even though he’s the Hero. I love the complexity that makes him feel like he has to appear infallible, though, because he’s the Hero.Really, the Hero of the Wild is just easily my favorite Hero. I absolutely adore everything about him, design included, and I’m really glad that he’s the one in the upcoming Smash. It’s about time the Hero of Twilight was dethroned, for real.

The Hero of Time (Ocarina of Time/Majora’s Mask) --- Ahhh, the classic favorite. I loved the Hero of Time for a long time, and while part of that is absolutely due to how he was characterized by Rose Zemlya, a lot of it is also simply due to how much time I personally spent with him, particularly with regards to Majora’s Mask. The Hero of Time, from an abstract standpoint, has a lot of interesting concepts to me, most notably centered around his specific power. He is the Time Hero Victorious; the laws of time are his, and they will obey him. This is, again, most exemplified in Majora’s Mask; you can speed time up, slow it down, skip ahead, travel back. And I like to think about what that does to this Link, how he comes to view time in relation to himself. He hasn’t led a linear life, time-wise, and as such his maturity is all over the place. His mindset is all over the place. And this, I feel, is especially true when you consider that, thanks once again to Majora’s Mask, he also comes in the habit of accepting different souls and minds alongside his own thanks to the transformation masks. He houses the souls of the dead within him, and takes their forms, whenever he wears those masks. He becomes a god with the Fierce Deity’s Mask. And after all this, he’s supposed to go on and live a normal life? No wonder felt as though he had unfinished business in Twilight Princess; he never got to live a normal life.The Hero of Time’s story is one of tragedy, but it’s not entirely unhappy. He has Epona, and his friends here or there. He gets joy from helping others. But there is a lot of sadness there, and that’s interesting to me. The Hero of Time will always be interesting to me.

The Hero of Winds (Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass) --- And finally, this little twerp. The Hero of Winds is a great kid. He’s a sleepyhead who can sleep literally anywhere, given the start of Wind Waker, and he’s also very loyal to his family. He wears the Hero’s outfit despite how ugly he clearly thinks it is because he wants to make his grandma happy, and he’s such a protective big brother that he throws himself off a cliff in an attempt to save Aryll from the Helmaroc King. To that end, the entire purpose of his journey was to save his sister (at least at the start), and his impulsivity and hotheadedness can definitely set him apart from others. To that end, the Hero of Winds is very expressive (he wears every emotion written across his face), as well as friendly, outgoing, and meticulously explorative. He’s just a great kid. There’s a whole lot to love about the Hero of Winds.

2.) Top 3 incarnations of Zelda?

Once again, in order:

Princess Zelda (Breath of the Wild) --- Honestly, I wasn’t expecting to love Zelda as much as I do in BotW, but goodness, I love her. She’s so relatable; no, none of us have goddess power that we’re trying to unlock, but the desperation to do what others expect, and the anxiety and despair that comes with not being able to live up to the expectation . . . particularly with regards to her anxiety and her lack of self-worth, I feel that’s an extremely relatable part of her character. But again, that’s not all she is; she loves dogs and other animals. She’s adventurous. She’s witty, brave, smart, and flawed. She loves reading and learning, but she also loves being on the front and helping where she can. She’s very active, this Zelda; she knows that most want her tucked away where it’s safe, but she works herself to the bone trying to find ways in which she can contribute. She might not join in the fray, but she’s definitely a scholar and kicks ass in her own right. I was really, legitimately impressed by how well-rounded she ended up being.

Tetra (Wind Waker/Phantom Hourglass) --- Tetra used to be my first fave, and honestly, she’s still really up there. I love this badass little pirate captain. Tetra commands the entire ship and despite how she was unfairly damseled (right at the start of Phantom Hourglass, even!), as well as the really unfortunate and awful whitewashing that occurs when she’s in her princess get-up, I really love everything about Tetra’s character, including and perhaps especially how sassy she is, and how she takes no shit from anyone. Tetra was the first Zelda to ever fight alongside Link in battle, and she not only aided him in the final fight, but even leaped through the window of the Forsaken Fortress to try to save him. Tetra is a complete badass and is wholly worthy of her title of captain. I love her.

Zelda (Skyward Sword) --- And last by not least, the Zelda (who is not a princess!) from Skyward Sword. Although she unfortunately spends pretty much the entire game damseled, this Zelda is nonetheless bold, brave, spunky, and has a strong sense of justice. I love the scenes where she’s playing around with Link (or having more tender moments wiht him), as well as the incredible strength she demonstrates in that she not only goes on her own journey across the surface world, but that she has the emotional fortitude necessary to follow through with Hylia’s plan to seal herself away until Link could defeat Demise. Zelda’s character was once again really well-written in this game, and I love her a lot.

(2) Terushima really does just seem like a big dork who loves volleyball haha. I feel like his initial vibe would make me not want to interact v much lol but once you get to know him he's actually a good person. and that tongue piercing tho 👀. "that one definitely hurts a lot more than Falling does" then I think I'm good for awhile hahaha. I've already read a sad hospital AU so I'm going to stay FAR away for now. Honestly I wish there was an interesting story behind it but there's not :')

(3) basically I had an art blog and the name of it was kind of a pun with the word "honeydew." but that nickname was already taken and I wanted to be ~original~ sso I didn't want to use it lol. I still liked the honey aspect though and I thought Honeymoon sounded cute. I'm also kind of a secret hopeless romantic and at the time I kept my identity on my art blog a secret, so it kind of felt like an "alter ego" of mine? long story short I liked the nickname and it kinda stuck haha

ok i mean, to be fair, he was super aggressive when he was meeting kiyoko. but i definitely feel like there’s that dorky side to him LMAO.

I don't know how it is now, but it was p chaotic and toxic and there was actually controversy surrounding one of those fics. I'm sorry about you and your sister love :( I don't know if you'd ever want to have a strong one with her but I hope you do if you do! and if not then there will always be people you share that with, blood or not 💕

LOL you did skip 5, but it’s okay bby 💖 it’s not too serious tbh. i’m not really close to my family, so i’ve always believed in the “my family is the one’s i choose, not necessarily the one’s i’m blood-related to” :)

(8) Piglet has always been my fave, but Eeyore and Lumpy are also great. do you have any favorite characters or ones that mean a lot to you? and that's really cool too!! I know being mixed can get super complicated but knowing you have all of those cultures in you in some way is pretty amazing. Honestly I've been undecided for the past 2 years but after everything going on in 2020, I've felt this need to release the truth? no matter what that may be. I know a lot of people say journalism

(9) isn't an honest profession but, and this will sound arrogant, I want to change that. Even if that just means me being an independent journalist while being an editor to make a living, I'm okay with that. Also it can give you the opportunity to travel, and writing has always been my strong suit. socio is so I can have a better understanding of the world and learn to be less biased and more objective and understanding. my favorite Disney character is honestly Tiana from Princess and the Frog! her hard-working story is hella relatable to me, and it inspired me to be better for myself if that makes sense?

TBH the most annoying part of being mixed is being called eXoTiC by guys who are tryna sleep with me 💀 there’s definitely a lot of fetishization about it lol

i hella respect that! the need to release the truth. journalism is honestly a raw and authentic profession that people underestimate because they read from biased sources or the things they read isn’t accurate. i have mad respect for you for following that career path! if there’s anything i could do to help, lmk love 💖 TBH, i chose business because i wanted to open my own business and i love psych because i love understanding the world and the people in my lives. psycho-analysing is one of my hobbies hehe. so similar as to why you did socio!

(10) and yes!!!! tbh I've always liked theatre but was never really one for the stage. I was in a child friendly version of macbeth in 6th grade and that was it lol. In my senior year of high school I performed a slam poem about my depression and my teacher called me emotionally constipated lmaoo. and because of how hs went down for me I never got to take classes anyway. I started getting into sfx/film makeup though and I really want to do that! I also just love the energy of backstage tbh

(11) this is getting really long akfdjh. but yeah I want to learn more! I'm actually kind of struggling in my stage management class right now because I honestly don't know much about theatre so it's overwhelming. I haven't even seen a lot of shows (I did see The Lion King when I was a kid though!! and a few hs productions). enough about me though, what's your favorite part, or what are some of your best memories? I love seeing that it makes you so happy :D

you must be pretty talented with makeup though! that’s so cool 🤩 i’ve always admired sfx and people who are talented with makeup tbh. what’s your favorite part about it so far?

i was fortunate enough that my hs had a super talented theatre program that i could be a part of. i had the opportunity to be in both tech, management, and on-stage. i honestly really enjoyed being behind-the-scenes in the management part! it was so great seeing a production from start to finish and knowing that i was involved with that process. i’m a huge theatre nerd tbh 😅 i love watching shows like Phantom of the Opera, Hamilton, RENT and I’ll routinely watch them haha.
