A bit of backstory under the cut:

Was born in Ruthenia, a county near Nevivon.

Bookworm through and thourgh, Fran was always called too mature for their age. They used to be very naive and talkative (pre-amnesia), which led to some troubles with local kids. Unfortunately, his parents were working most of the time, so Fran had to learn to fend for themselves early.

Working since his early teens, by 21 he had saved up enough to go study languages in Vesuvia. That's where he met Asra — at the backyard of a library, looking through the dumped books for magic-related stuff.

In the city, Fran also found his aunt by accident (as he didn't know his paternal side at all). She was glad to finally leave a derelict shop to someone else and then sail off to travel. Fran to put a lot of work into place to restore it. Asra and Muriel helped them and became their first friends in the city.

Ok everyone saw this coming but this ask ran away from me and I ramble about some song lyrics I associate with Chil & different facets of his life below the cut. Some people find my, ehem, heated rambles about Chil entertaining, this is your cue to get out the popcorn.

When thinking about songs for Chil I have 3 angles I take: About Chilchuck, about him and his wife, or about him & Marcille. Marchil is so engraved into me with their arcs together, that they’re like the concept of closure and letting go and letting yourself live again to me, sorry for all the non-enjoyers… I think currently my top song for him is Jackrabbit by San Fermin, because it combines all three it makes me go wild. It’s about trepidation… Throwing yourself into it even despite the fear (working with traps, survival in poverty where you have to rush & hustle), or just staying there paralyzed(not reaching out to his wife). Flight or freeze!! Saying goodbyes and saying hellos!! Not dying alone!! The life cycle of a wild rabbit living and dying, the baton pass race of life from generation to generation!! Chil and his daughters even!!! Going through life at a frenzied pace!! It is so Chilchuck and so marchil, and the music does give that hurried and scared energy to me too, and sigh the Marcille side to it with fear of death too…

Extra fun context but the other day on the discord server we were talking about what animal each character’s fursona would be as we do and I thought of a rabbit for Chilchuck: Quick footed, ‘cowardly’, small and frail and seen as weak 🙃, athletic and slender, pulls stunts, stressed out, has very fine hearing and has good instincts, etc. And ofc that fits really well with Marcille since she’s kinda associated with dungeon rabbits hehe~ But I think while Marcille’s 100% the cute round rabbit Chil’s more like a brown hare, more wild and like, more like a jackalope if we’re still doing monsters... I do lowkey find it more fun than his associated monster being mimics because he’s crabby, because they’re clever (with where they place themselves) and because of how he has a soft shell but soft insides, lol.

📓 tell me the visions that plague ur mind

So this isn't quite *fanfic* but- there's this Blorbo, right? He's an OC and my PFP and his name is Corrain and he's a trans man and a bisexual polyamorous disaster trainwreck type of gay. You know, the usual Blorbo material. And he has spawned three fanfics in two separate fandoms already, yes? One of these fandoms has an outline (an OUTLINE. A PLOT OUTLINE) that is 75000 words and counting aaaauuuggggghhhh

So this Blorbo comes to me and is like. "So what if you gave me my own story? 🥺" And I'm no pushover so of COURSE I said yes. (Wait, fuck-)

So, the basic idea behind his story is that, for humans alone, magic is not and *cannot* be an innate thing. It's a resource found in the world around humans, to be used up and drained, kind of like a nonrenewable resource in some ways, except it's very common. Some Animals can have innate magical properties and this be capable of using magic as PART of themselves, like flexing a muscle - and these animals are usually Fae Variants of already-existing species, though Fae-only species also exist.

For humans, however, Magic is studied like a science, learning runes and magical chemistry-type stuff and how to make potions that will temporarily allow them to cast spells with a word and etc.

Enter Corrain....who does magic accidentally, without any aids whatsoever, and discovers...he's a Fae human, somehow. But that's unnatural! Something must be wrong with him! Or he must be morally obligated to use himself up for the benefit of a country or something!

Cue a wild goose chase of Corrain running from governments who want to arrest him, scientists/doctors who want to "cure/study" him, all while being terrified of himself, thinking he's somehow a horrible mistake.

(Oh and btw? Using up all the magic like that? The magic is getting polluted and corrupted and the planet's kind of dying)

But In the end Corrain finds a group of people who- are also Fae humans. They're elves. Ans turns out that Fae humans are pretty common and normal and societal pressures and desire to *use* people end up keeping most magical humans in the closet.

And then Corrain gets to go on a fabulous journey and take down a shitty fascist or two with the Gay Agenda his magical powers

Can you tell where the Very Subtle I'm Sure metaphors are. Is it too much. Maybe. It is still marinating in my head at ALL times help. Why is this one Blorbo so horrid. It is a Mystery. I love him and am going to beat him up because of that.

Honestly that moment of obviousness while they're not at 100%, like "of course, I know what to do, I must hand him my shirt, this is just how it's done", and then in the morning when the brain's fully back online the "holy shit hoLY SHIT", it's so so tasty I love it. I was thinking Matt/Foggy thoughts (as I do right now) personally, cause it's sometimes a thing in fanfic for them to have clothes at each other's place for impromptu sleepovers and the like, and authors also like putting Matt in Foggy's clothes sometimes, plus on top of that they roomed together for - the show's not clear on that bit tbh but at least a year and people often give them more - for a certain time in college/law school or however that works, which I think would also be conducive to clothes sharing. I can't tell if I like it more if Matt wears something of Foggy's by accident and he can't tell cause he's not fully awake yet or he Knows that specific texture, knows the smell of the detergent and the closet it was in, he knows it's not his, and the pining on Foggy's side because he doesn't need to say something, does he? surely it was a mistake, Matt's just blind and it doesn't matter, 100% friendly platonic feelings about this! Anyway. Hmm I'm going to be thinking about this.

unrelated to anything but ….the way I’ve been rotating my ocs around for months now nonstop might be the hardest and longest period I’ve ever obsessed over them and I keep thinking abt it and like. The plan was to do a fanfic with illustrations each chapter. I LIKE writing! But I don’t think the story’s suited for it the more I think abt it. There’s shots I can see so clearly, character expressions that words won’t do justice and I don’t think I could do justice in general without art. But I tried a webcomic twice and failed so hard and the idea of starting and failing a third time is such a bummer!!!! But I really do think it’s the medium it would work best in 🫠

The story in my brain is like, 50 chapters long (I have a notebook with rough outlines already so that’d be the Ideal Length) even if I was to go wild and do a chapter per month (which would be an ungodly amount of work…I’d have to keep the chapters kinda short to do that, too!) it’d still take four years to finish if I was doing 50 chapters and one a month. And it’s not like I’m mad I quit the other times bc I’ve reworked so much this year alone!!! I think the ideas and concepts I have now are better but… lord the amount of work and time it’d take. Would it even be worth it?

I’ve played with the idea of a patreon for it, where I’d release behind the scenes stuff and early pages (the comic wouldn’t be paywalled, just early access yk I’d never entirely paywall a fan comic lol) but it’d be really really disheartening if no one was interested. Even when I was just putting it out on dA the lack of feedback or interest hurt sm bc these are My Personal Blorbos. My Babies 🫠 and this story is like. Everything to me… I know I know not everything good is supposed to be marketable or popular to be good and I shouldn’t worry abt that kinda thing but I DO!!! 3] Any ships? eehh?? Kind of? I don't really do shipping in the way that fandom does? Usually I'm not as invested in ships much because I care way more about the platonic relationships. so there's a lot of ships that i just kind of shrug and go "yeah, sure! i'll take that as headcanon" and accept it without being invested, and otherwise most other ships i'm just neutral on. when I AM invested in romantic pairs i still am like. completely chill with them not being romantic it's more of just an investment in that pair and their dynamic lol

Paint, Link Between Worlds Link, is probably at this time-the sweetest and most morally concious person of the group.

Rhythm, Cadence of Hyrule Link, my main headcanon is that he has a fear of wolves but does love dogs.

Night, Twilight Princess Link, or SNORB, he eats ghosts. Probably. Maybe. He will never confirm nor deny it. He also just vaults any trauma.

Spirit, Spirit Tracks Link, knows every part of the train and how its works. He's a nerd. He just wants to ride his train and do his job. He's the only one who actually has a full on job.

Scarfy, Hyrule Warriors Link, he actually has a problem with being in a relationship. Its a little hard to get over the fact a war was started over you. He's working on self worth and such. Especially after getting too full of himself once.

Pheonix and Rhythm end up causing problems and Paint just tags along because someone needs to talk to the police.

Night polietly listens to Spirit talk about strange machines he has never head about. Scarfy is just trying to figure out what to do.

Pheonix and Spirit can kind of discuss machines and technology while Rhythm just mentions he has found gears in the sands of Gerudo Desert.

Night can snowboard better than Pheonix.

Scarfy, Pheonix, and Rhythm have fun discussing how they have artifacts/parallels of past heroes and how it affects their self worth.

Paint and Pheonix both has replicas of Majora's Mask and they laugh. Scarfy is terrifed of this.
