Rune Art: Dark Forest Rune Deck by La Muci Design
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Deep Forest Rune Deck was a 24 card deck published in Slovenia by La Muci Design.
The following text was reproduced from La Muci original website.
"Runes are an ancient form of oracle used by those seeking advice. Runes have a long history, dating back to ancient use by Germanic and Nordic tribes, and are still widely used in today’s society. Anyone can have a rune reading, but it’s also fun to be able to learn how to use them yourself. Here’s a guide to all you need to get started with using runes.
What Can Runes Be Used For?
The runes can be used to help guide you through problems or issues and help show you what is likely to happen. They’re not a form of fortune-telling and don’t offer exact answers or give you advice – rather, they offer different variables and suggest how you could behave if the event does occur. Runes are known for hinting towards answers but leaving you to work out the details, which is where intuition is helpful.
Runic readers acknowledge that the future isn’t fixed and that individuals have the power to follow their own path and make their own decisions. So, if you don’t like the guidance that a rune reading provides you’ve got the power to change your direction or your path and follow a different route.
Runes can be used in many different situations. For example, one of the occasions, when it can be useful to consult the runes, is if you’re in a situation where you have limited information or can only see an incomplete picture.
How to Get Started With Using Runes:
Find a quiet place to do your reading and start by having a period of quiet, where you clear your mind and focus on the reading you’re about to do. Think about the issue or question you have in mind, and if you so desire, you can say a prayer or call upon higher spirits to guide you with your reading.
Your cloth should be spread on the table in front of you, ready for the runes to lay upon it.
There are various different types of rune castings you can do – which are similar in idea to tarot layouts – but on your very first attempt, you might just like to start by picking out between one rune and analyzing its significance.
This is also quite a useful method to use if you’re feeling unsure or uncertain – picking out one single rune can give you something to focus on.
Once you feel happy to progress, then have a go at some of the rune layouts and casts."

Let's talk about those two chapters!!!!!
You ask, we deliver! Let’s talk about my theories from the two preview chapters of Chain of Iron, shall we? So many thoughts, I’ll have to be brief with each one. Feel free to ask questions on anything I don’t mention or clarifications on points I do touch.
1. Belial. Who is he possessing? James would be so obvious it’s cheap. The fun plot twist would be Lucie, who complained in Chain of Gold that she’s also Belial’s granddaughter. It would go in perfect irony with Lucie’s line to Grace “I don’t want to do evil things” while she runs around being possessed by a Greater Demon killing innocent mundanes (and probably Shadowhunters too) in London. However, as marvelous as this sounds, it appears Belial is possessing a male body (unless it’s just written to mislead us). In that case, my next best guess (and something I DO NOT want happening) would be Matthew. He isn’t a descendant of Belial’s, but he is magically linked to James via the parabatai rune and bond, so that could be a loophole. What made me think that? At the Devil’s Tavern, Matthew wishes James gone for a second, and James ends up in the shadow realm, Belial’s realm, for the first time in four months.
2. There is something FISHY going on with Hypatia and the Helle Ruelle celebrating Lilith. Well, not really that. What stinks is that Cassandra would feel the need to explain Lilith’s history with the angels to us again and that Cordelia would spend another entire paragraph going over the ceremony performed when Shadowhunter babies are born. We know this already. She’s saying it for our benefit and for a reason. Are the warlocks hiding a Shadowhunter baby? Or alternatively, WHO DIDN’T GET THE CEREMONY? This could also be the answer to our previous question, because we know that “unbaptized” babies can be possessed by demons (like Jace after his rebirth in TMI) so it could solve the mystery of Belial’s possession without needing a blood relation. Or... WILL LILIHT MAKE AN APPEARANCE IN COI/COT?
3. Cordelia will go see Wayland the Smith in this book. When? Well, when Cortana starts burning her, of course. She’ll try to find answers everywhere, consulting books, Jem, even friendly warlocks perhaps, but eventually she’ll have to ask that faerie to take her to Wayland, Cortana’s legendary maker, and make a deal. NEVER PROMISE ANYTHING TO FAERIES, DAISY! That will be a mess.
4. I think the Gracelet doesn’t work in the shadow realm, which confirms that Belial didn’t cast the spell on the bracelet, because surely his magic would work in his own kindgom? James was thinking of the wedding in the tone he would under the effect of the Gracelet, and in the shadow realm he suddenly has a rather romantic view of Cordelia, like an avenging angel or “a goddess captured in a painting: Liberty or Victory leading the people.” Something to keep an eye on.
5. As we know, Grace and Christopher are supposed to get married, according to the misleading family tree. We don’t know if that will end up happening, but I suppose this is how they could grow closer: we know Lucie has been asking Kit for ingredients for their spells. When Lucie inevitably pulls away from the agreement with Grace because she doesn’t yet want to do full-on necromancy (good call, I hope she sticks by it but I doubt she will), Grace will need to ask Christopher directly - she can’t risk being seen at the Shadow Market, given her mother’s history, so he’s her best option.
6. Filomena di Angelo will be the name of the Italian Shadowhunter, I’m 99.9999999% sure at this point. Am I happy? No. Speaking as an Italian myself, Cassie couldn’t have picked a worse name. (Yes, it makes me smile that she and Rick Riordan exchange character names, but this name still doesn’t sound right or fitting. Happy to elaborate more in another post if you’re interested!)
7. As I’ve said before, to the delight of our Jordelia hearts, James has no intention whatsoever of cheating on Daisy or breaking his promise to her by seeing Grace. Unfortunately, he won’t be able to help it because Grace’s spell will compel him to go see her at one point. Sad angst and a loss of trust will ensue. UNLESS the magic of the MARRIAGE RUNES is stronger than the Gracelet and can counteract it. That would be dope. But that would also mean a win for us, and it’s only the second book...
8. The Lucie/Jesse content was too on the nose. it’s only the first two chapters and it’s 1903, stop flirting, goddammit. Apart from that, Lucie is being too reckless. She’ll get in trouble soon.
9. Matthew is going to behave with Cordelia. He would and will never put her in a compromising position or one where she would have to choose between him and James. The “”””kiss”””” was accidental, Cassie said as much in a Tumblr answer. I love their friendship, it’s one of my favorites. But trust me, it’s not going to go anywhere beyond that. Matthew may wish, but he will never act. He likes pursuing loves that are “hopeless”, it’s said as much in the text.
10. ANNA WAS TOTALLY FLIRTING WITH CORDELIA ON THE EVE OF HER WEDDING TO ANNA’S COUSIN, SCANDALOUS
11. Thomas and Alastair will finally speak at the wedding. Not make up yet, but have a conversation. I just hope Charles doesn’t magically come back from Paris to make an appearance.
12. THE NEXT CHAPTER WE READ WILL BE THE JORDELIA WEDDING (!!!) and all the adults will be there so we’ll see all our TID darlings as well. I am prepared to bet anything that Brother Zachariah will officiate the wedding. I cannot wait.
13. What the fùck was up with the reverse mermaid???????????
Need more analysis or clarifications on some points? Want help believing in Mucie and keeping your faith in Jordelia? WE’VE GOT YOU. Send me all your questions. I would prefer non-anonymous ones, so I can notify you!

It’s The Little Things
Just got hit with the urge to write some cute Jai and Lian! Specifically some pregnant Lian. So enjoy some domestic Speeding Arrow!
---
Lian Harper-West hates throwing up. Always has, always will. It only makes sense that she has the worse fucking morning sickness, which is a complete bullshit name because she throws up all the fucking time.
“Ugh...” Lian pushes her hair out of her eyes. Her hairs gotten too fucking long. Jai knocks on the doorframe before coming in. He hands her a can of ginereale. “I’m just going to throw it up.”
“Humor me.” Jai wipes her face off with a wash cloth before she sips the drink. “Do you want me to say anything nerdy to take your mind off it?”
“Can you explain why I’m this fucking nausoies?”
“I think it has something to do with the clump of cells your body is trying to turn into a human.” Lian swats his shoulder, pushing her hair from her face. Jai finds a hair tie on the counter (not something he’s ever been able to say before or will again.) He ties her hair into a half ponytail, kissing her head. “Seriously, it’s part of pregnancy. My mom had the same issue when she was pregnant with us.”
“...Jai Bartholomew West, if you put twins in me, I’m going to to fucking kill you.”
“I mean, Twins run in my family.” Lian aims another hit at him, only for him to jump out of the way.
----
“Jai! Your daughters are being assholes again.” His wife shouts down at him.
Jai snorts as he opens the door to his bedroom. Well, more accurately Lian’s teen bedroom. Since they’d moved in together, they hadn’t really changed lay out or most of the decorations. Some of Jai’s things have snuck their way out of the closet. The hoodies hang with her favorite t-shirts. Science books mixed with histories, plays, and sheet mucis. A picture of their wedding day next to their prom photo. Lian usually jokes that it’s “marriage privileges” that his things get to be on show. She’s not laughing now. She pouts at him from the edge of the bed.
“Yes, babe? What are they doing now?” Jai can’t help but smiles at her pout.
“They won’t let me lace up my boots.”
Jai snorts before kneeling in front of her. Lian’s punk rocker style hadn’t really changed with her pregnancy, aside from switching her jeans for yoga pants. The clunky leather boots she adores are undone on her feet. He’s honestly shocked she managed to get them on. Lacing them up, he ties her shoes before putting a hand on her belly. “Baby dolls. We had an agreement. You two go easy on Mommy so she goes easy on Daddy.”
Lian grunts, rubbing her side, “I think that was Lily telling you to fuck off.”
“Not Milly?”
“Milly sits on the other side and is much nicer to me.” Jai helps her up, kissing her lips. “Love you, Jaibae.”
“Love you too, beautiful.”
Lian scoffs at that. “Beautiful? I’m a fucking blimp.
“You’re beautiful because I’ve seen you holding your guts in with one hand. I prefer you carrying our daughters compared to that.”
-----
Jai rubs his face as Colin and Jon argue over how to put together the sundvik.
“We’ve got extra screws!” Jon holds them up.
“Maybe they’re your missing ones!”
“Just wanted to put the cribs together.” Jai looks at the half put together Ikea furniture, defeated. “Saved the world a dozen times. Gone head to head with demons and aliens. Try to do something nice for the mother of my children and defeated by the Swedish.”
“Gods, you’re dramatic.” Damian rolls his eyes. He skims the instructutions. “Did you put the screws in the second one yet.”
Colin and Jon go dead silent. Once the second crib’s put together, it takes the four of them to add the finishing touches.
“Jesus, Wilkes, not so many pillows.” Damian grabs one of the decorative pillows Lian’s been obsessed with lately.
“Excuse me, but which one of us married a fashonista?”
“Which one of us actually has a child?” Damian throws the pillow at him. “If you want them to suffocate, keep adding pillows. I’m sure Harper will be thrilled.”
“Jai? Why the hell do I hear Damian’s voice?”
“He’s helping me with a surprise, baby.”
“What? Did he install baby ninja stuff?” Lian walks into the nursery. Jai knows how hard it is for her to come into her dad’s old room. Lots of good and bad memories tied in here, but the fact she wanted it for their girls meant showed a lot. Lian takes in the sight of the two cribs and bursts into tears.
“Er...Did we do something wrong?” Jon asks.
“No. It’s the fucking hormones.” Lian wipes her face. Jai hanfs her a tissue, kissing her cheek. “Thank you, guys. This means a lot”
“Thank Jai.” Colin nods to his friend. “He wanted to do something nice.”
“Well, thank you, Jaibae.” Lian kisses his cheek. He smiles, putting a hand on her belly.
“Anything for my girls.”
------
“What are you dreaming about, baby doll?” Lian smiles as she comes into her bedroom, hair wet from her shower. Jai’s looking down at their twin daughters. Their Lily and Milly. Their baby dolls. The way he looks at them reminds her so much of her dad. “Hey, beautiful. Feeling human again?”
“I will never take showering for granted again.” Lian winces as she climbs into bed. He notices, the sheets empty for a split second before he’s back, handing her an ice pack. “Thanks, babe.”
“Of course.” Jai kisses Lily’s tummy while Lian gets comfortable in bed, ice pack between her legs. “So how long do you think before they’re running around like little hellions? Raising all the mayhem we did?”
“Well, depends on a lot of things.” Lian kisses his shoulder, resting her chin on it. “You’re already a good dad.”
“You’re a fucking stellar mom.”
“All I am is a milk despenser--”
“Hey...” Jai’s gentle to interrupt her. “Don’t do that. You spent the last eight and a half months growing them, went through 10 hours of labor, and already snapped at that one dude who asked if you were really a mom.”
“Blue hair shouldn’t keep me from be a mom,” She pouts. Jai chuckles as he kisses her forehead.
“I know you’re scared. I know why you’re scared. But I also know how you love.” He pushes her hair from her face. “You hide it, but you love people so much and so deeply it scares me sometimes. That’s how I know you’re a stellar mom.”
Lian would kiss him, but their daughter choose that moment to start fussing. Jai coos softly to the girls, lifting them into his arms before walking around the room. Lian leans back against the pillows, just watching. Wondering how a guy like him fell in love with a girl like her. Wondering what she did to deserve someone so open with his joy and shy about his pain.
She smiles as he starts to sing, the same song Irey sang to Asha when she was small. Promising to love their girls always. All Lian can hope is the girls see how much their father loves them through the little things he does.

Sometimes I draw OCs from my book Myrmeleo (currently in progress). And you will have to endure it. This is made for OC Mucis Challenge (https://vk.com/oc_music_challenge) The song is https://open.spotify.com/track/3yMbGWLOgMTN1rWvnoCk0E?si=2392f775c542468c ...When the war started
Our city was doomed...
Meet Amayak. Amayak is the husband of the prince of a small mountain country that was conquered by the local crusaders. He had to flee and eventually lead a sort of uprising against the attackers.
...You could rule everything
But you made me up
Now run, run...
It is worth saying that if Generall did not kill his husband and did not try to kill himself, the crusade could have ended better. But...
The picture does not refer to any particular stage in his history, it's more just... vibe

Artemisia Gentileschi
“As for my doing a drawing and sending it, I have made a solemn vow never to send my drawings because people have cheated me. In particular, just today I found that, having done a drawing of souls in Purgatory for the Bishop of St. Gata, he, in order to spend less, commissioned another painter to do the painting using my work. If I were a man, I can't imagine it would have turned out this way… “(Janson’s History of Art, Artemisia Gentileschi From a letter to Don Antonio Ruffo)

Cristina Freire: "Decolonize the Museum: Utopia?"
Tumblr media
Wed, Mar 13, 2019, 12:00 pm
In the history of Brazil, the colonial wound is based on two major violences: the indigenous ethnocide and the black diaspora. As  an optical instrument at the service of modernity, the museum of modern art in Brazil has made invisible these processes of coloniality. However, some examples of past  intellectual inconformism bring to the present the defense of the popular in education and in art. They are unrealized or suspended projects, such as Lina Bo Bardi’s Museum of Popular Art, Mario Pedrosa’s critical writings concerning the Museum of Origins and the Pedagogy of Freedom by Paulo Freire. These ideas could not be fully realized in their space or time of emergence and remain as indexes of interrupted histories that reappear in the work of some contemporary artists and exhibition installation projects.
Cristina Freire is Full Professor and Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art of the University of São Paulo (MAC USP). She was co-curator of the 27th Bienal de São Paulo (2006) and Deputy Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art of the University of São Paulo (MAC USP) from 2010-2014. She was Chair of the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Aesthetics and Art History University of São Paulo (2015-2016), and is currently a researcher of the National Research Council (Conselho Nacional de Pesquisa. Cnpq, Brazil). Her books include Beyond maps: Monuments in the urban contemporary imaginary (São Paulo, Annablume, 1997); Poetics of Process: Conceptual art in the Museum (São Paulo: Ed. Iluminuras, 1999); Conceptual Art (Rio de Janeiro: Jorge Zahar Editor, 2006) and Paulo Bruscky: Art, Archive and Utopia (Recife: CEPE, 2007). She has also edited Walter Zanini: Critical Writings (São Paulo, Annablume, 2013), which received the Jabuti Prize for the Best book in Art and Architecture published in 2013 in Brazil.  She currently directs two research tracks at the graduate Interdisciplinary Program on Aesthetics and Art History at the University of São Paulo (Brazil): Theory and Criticism of Contemporary Art and Latin America: Laboratory of Research. She is also the director of the GEACC, a Research Group on Conceptual Art and Conceptualisms in the Museum, of the National Council of Research (CNPq), which organizes seminars and publications and stimulates collaboration and solidarity between students and faculty. Freire teaches courses that focus on artistic practices and institutional and collective memories in Brazil and Latin America, with a focus on the 1960’s and 1970’s.
