MS-DOS on Windows 98SE - Invalid Drive Specification

As much as I enjoy Windows 98SE, this has been a pet peeve of mine for some time. Does anyone know how to resolve this? Thank you!

to Linus - 1998 april until 2000 february, my personal computer was a TEKRAM mobo Mendocino, standard was BTX not ATX, using slot not socket, that was d00robrw, and shelf tag was 800 USD. feb 2000 came DVD-RAM burn upgrade a SONY 4X 4mb cash, no data buffer under-run tech (meant de-fragmenting Quantum Fireball 3.2Gb HDD each time and restart, then burn CD or DVD). IBM HDD from Hungary 20Gb Deskstar was another upgrade by 2000 autumn. also a BOCA Research external modem 33.3 v.40 was added to the system, CRT was LG 15″, and video card was always ATI Rage IIc 4mb, thus a BTX mobo and AGP gen.1 - booting for MS_DOS natively and playing DOS games, too. d00robrw was on a slot not on a socket - d01robrw was MSI 266KT ver.A and issues w/ DDR thus bios flash upgrade later on, for Athlon (replacing the Duron 700 MHz which I was overclocking at 800 MHz all the time). and it was Athlon 1GHz at first, then Athlon at 1.2GHz, then Athlon 1.7GHz or so. lots of upgrades on the list (another IBM Deskstar 40Gb UATA-133, old one was UATA-100, the Quantum Fireball 3.2Gb 1998 was UATA-66). m
