What Fallout 4 is truly missing:
- a dlc where the sole survivor is kidnapped and is forced to work with a strange group of people to escape
- a dlc where they're kidnapped and have to find their stolen brain/piece of brain

You know the drill by now, lol, choose a favorite character whose name starts with "Y" or "Z"!
(Or a character you just want to see me write for 😁)
If you have any questions on these characters, please feel free to ask!
And if you think of someone who's not listed here that you would like to see, feel free to add a name to the comments/reblogs!

Sequel to This Post: How Far Are the Fallout DLC Maps from the Main Game?
I linked them to each game’s main metropolitan area, not the specific launching-off point for the DLC, sorry. Travel times are for the 21st century and don’t reflect resting, carrying equipment, or stopping to fight giant bugs every half-hour. They also don’t reflect that it’s the apocalypse and you can walk on a national highway if you feel like it.
Tumblr media
Here’s The Pitt, which I haven’t played yet, sorry
Tumblr media
This is Point Lookout, though it’s important to note that in-game you get there via the river and it takes a month? For some reason?
Anchorage is a simulation, Broken Steel uses the original game map, and Mothership Zeta is… in space.
We know next to nothing about the Sierra Madre and I can’t really approximate where it is. I couldn’t find the in-game travel time to get back to the Mojave.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zion Valley, by foot but also by car since it gives you a weird walking route. In-game, it’s a two-week hike.
Tumblr media
A rough approximation of the location of Big Mountain. It could be anywhere in Death Valley; all we know is that it’s south of the Divide. In-game, of course, you teleport there and back, so you likely won’t need this info.
Tumblr media
The Divide. In-game, the journey is three hours.
Tumblr media
The Island. In-game, you get there by boat, and as far as I can tell it takes about an hour.
We don’t know anything about Nuka-World’s real location except that it’s in Massachusetts. Assuming the train is running, you probably don’t need real travel times, but if you do, you can make something up.

I don’t know if this was asked before, but maybe reactions of the companions seeing a real life alien spacecraft and said alien? It always bothered me that they never said anything when you discover the ship
Thank you and also I enjoy reading your blog!
Fo3 Companions Reactions To Seeing An Alien/Alien Spacecraft
➼ Word Count » 0.9k ➼ Warnings » None ➼ Genre » Platonic/Romantic ➼ A/N » I'm assuming this was meant for the fo3 companions cuz I remember feeling so cheated when they just watched Lone get kidnapped and never mentioned anything about it
Charon takes his gun out the second he spots the UFO on the other side of the hill and gets noticeably more tense the closer you both get. He'll hold his arm out, silently telling you to stay back as he inspects it closer. He won't have much to say about it, only giving you a few grunts in response if you ask him any questions. Charon hates everything about it. It's too much of a mystery for it to be safe, and tries to shoo you back the way you came from. He panics when the strange blue light covers your form and takes you upward into the spacecraft. He tries to shoot the aliens the moment he spots one wandering around. He doesn't trust them at all and will gladly massacre the whole ship if it means the two of you will end up surviving.
Clover doesn't believe in aliens or understand the hype surrounding them, so when she sees the spacecraft for the first time, she's not all that impressed. If anything, she's bored and will want to go home. Especially when she sees one of the aliens for the first time. She thinks they look disgusting and would want to wipe them out as soon as possible.
Star Paladin Cross finds the UFO to be a technological marvel and would want to take in as much information as she can to take back to the Brotherhood. She'll be slightly distracted with the crashed ship to immediately notice you being taken, but once she looks over and realizes what's happening, she'll take out her gun and start shooting (although she'd prefer it be within range for her to just bash it with her sledgehammer). She'll see the aliens as abominations and will want to slaughter them all the moment she's given the opportunity. The aliens, however, find her robotic body to be fascinating and will try to keep her for further studies.
Jericho thinks it's stupid and will opt to just kick at the crashed spaceship. Who finds these things interesting, anyway? He freaks out a bit when you begin to be abducted as he feels as if it was his fault you got taken. Unlike the others, he won't try and attack the aliens immediately. Instead, he pretends they aren't there and tries to find a button or something to get you guys off and back into the Capital Wasteland. He still thinks the whole thing is stupid, and the entire interaction would make him hate aliens all the more.
Butch is arguably the most excited out of everyone on this list. Ever since he left the vault he's been hoping you both would run into something like this. He'll ramble on and on about all the comics he used to read back in 101, and hey, did you ever read those? 'Cause they were the most exciting thing that ever happened to the vault. He's talking so much that he hardly notices you being sucked up into the sky, but he quickly grabs onto you when he notices you leaving the ground. He fanboys so hard over the aliens, opting to ignore every bad thing about them and instead focusing on how accurate the comics had gotten them. He'd be heartbroken if you had to kill them but definitely prefers to be on the ground than in space. He'll never stop telling others about the incident. He's so amazed at the world outside the vault, and it only serves to inflate his adventurous side more.
Fawkes finds the crash site intriguing as it's full of technology he'd only ever seen in science fiction novels. He makes a point to stick close to you as he's almost certain this entire place is bound to be dangerous, and he's proven right when you're both abducted. He's very polite to the aliens throughout it all, however, being locked in the glass enclosure reminds him all too much of his time in Vault 87. He doesn't like it on the ship all too much and gathers as many resources and weapons as he can to break you and all the others out of the ship. If he could avoid it, he'd prefer not to kill any of the aliens as he believes they were only curious and hadn't meant any real harm, but if he had no other choice, he wouldn't lose any sleep mowing them down with his minigun.
When RL-3 hears the word 'alien' he thinks of immigrants, so when you come across the alien spacecraft and get kidnapped, he considers it an act of terrorism, or at the very least, a hostage situation. He'll command the creatures to unhand the both of you immediately and if they don't comply, he'll have the full US military on them for false imprisonment. They don't listen, of course, not understanding a word either of you say, and carry on with their research. He'll hold a very negative impression of aliens and anything extraterrestrial afterward.
Dogmeat will cluelessly sniff around the broken-down ship, not fully understanding what it is exactly. He'll then watch you get taken up into the sky with perked-up ears and a slight tilt of his head. The aliens aren't that interested in dogs so they leave him right there and that's where he'll wait until you manage to come back.

Gonna tell people this is Guardians of the Galaxy Finally played Fallout 3: Mothership Zeta about 13 years too late. I managed to go in blind and had a great time. If my Lone Wanderer didn't have her dads legacy to uphold I'd love to see these DND party grade goobers have space adventures

Sink Recipe Overhaul v2.0 and Mothership Zeta Rehaul v3.5 is out!
Sink Recipe Overhaul v2.0: There's some big internal changes here, but here's some most notable changes:
Sink Recipe Overhaul no longer requires Tale of Two Wastelands or any DLCS other than Old World Blues, and the Havasu Blues patch has been merged into the main esm. DLC, TTW, and Havasu Blues features are automatically supported via script.
SinkRecipeOverhaulTTW.esm has been renamed to SinkRecipeOverhaul.esm. This may require you to start a new playthrough, and old patches won't work anymore.
The ini got overhauled significantly, make sure the settings are set the way you like. Most notably, you can disable the cloning rebalance and the extra processable items introduced by the mod, making it as vanilla as possible, only thing new being a crafting menu.
Mothership Zeta Rehaul v3.5: This is more of an interim update made as a result of the major update to Sink Recipe Overhaul:
Mothership Zeta Rehaul's Sink Recipe Overhaul and Prerelease Restored patches has been merged into the main mod, automatically enabled if the mod is detected, however make sure Sink Recipe Overhaul's esm loads after Mothership Zeta Rehaul's esm.

I just finished the DLC’s for Fallout 3 & NV so I wanted to share my thoughts lol.
Fo3
Broken Steel: 4/10
- It wasn’t necessarily awful, just was boring. I found myself not really paying attention until the very end fight.
- The Tesla Canon is now my main weapon lol. I love that thing.
- It also extends the story so.
Operation: Anchorage: 7/10
- i actually really liked this DLC. I think it was a very interesting concept, especially with the healing/loot mechanics.
- Daddy Benjamin Montgomery 😳 (leave it to me to fall in love with the simulation inside the simulation inside of a video game-)
Point Lookout: 3/10
- Honestly I don’t remember what all happened in this DLC. I only remember seeing the ‘creeper’ mobs and going “Creeper? Aw man” every time without fail.
- Desmond and his dog obsession was the best part of the DLC
Mothership Zeta: 9/10
- Absolutely loved this DLC. Aliens? Cryogenics? Awesome.
- The NPC’s are the best part of this. I loved all of them, especially Sally. She’s absolutely adorable and she is my child. Also the samurai was cool as hell.
The Pitt: 5/10
- It was ok, really good concept and executed really well, but the quest was kinda dumb. Intense, but dumb.
- Really made me question my morals with Marie lol. I think I sat there for like, 10 minutes trying to figure out if I should really kidnap a baby.
FoNV
Honest Hearts: 5/10
- Not my favorite DLC, but it wasn’t awful. I liked the characters that came with it and the new wildlife was cool.
- If they had developed Joshua Graham more he would’ve been a beautiful character.
Dead Money: 8/10
- Highest ranked for NV. I really liked this DLC. I understand the hype around it now.
- Every single character was amazing. I was scared shitless the whole time and I loved it. The graffiti was beautiful as well.
- The bad thing about it was the DAMN RADIOS!
Old World Blues: 2/10
- I hated it lol. If their dialogue was like, 4 minutes shorter it might’ve been charming. Also they were dicks lol.
- The best thing was the robots in the Sink that’re your friends. Their cool. Also the fact that the book slot was in the end cutscene made me laugh.
- IM ALSO IN LOVE WITH THE STEALTH SUIT LADY. SHES SO SWEET AND ADORABLE I WANT TO KISS HER-
Lonesome Road: 6/10
- Ulysses was a VERY interesting character. I enjoyed his whole “fan” thing. He also looked cool as shit, and not Joshua’s bandaged ass.
- One thing I didn’t like is that it assumes your characters role as a courier. “You delivered that package I watched you do it” tf I didn’t deliver shit.

If Mothership Zeta has a million fans, then I am one of them. If Mothership Zeta has ten fans, then I am one of them. If Mothership Zeta has only one fan then that is me. If Mothership Zeta has no fans, then that means I am dead. If the world is against Mothership Zeta, then I am against the world.

Hi! I just bought fo3 and am wondering which order the dlc should be played in/at what levels. It doesn't seem to be as cut and dry or at least as agreed upon as fnv, but I haven't been able to look far for fear of spoilers. I'd really appreciate if you could give some advice!
Oh, bottle caps. I'll give you a few potential lineups based on various priorities, spoiler-free. If anyone has anything to add in terms of suggestions, feel free to do so for anon's benefit in the comments and tags. Hope it helps!
Order of Release: Operation Anchorage, The Pitt, Broken Steel, Point Lookout, Mothership Zeta
Always a good starting-off point, if you're unsure. Note up front that Broken Steel can only be started after the main game's quest line is complete, so if you feel like poking around the last two DLC on the list, they will have to wait until after you've finished the main game and its follow-up mission.
Order of Difficulty: Operation Anchorage, The Pitt, Mothership Zeta, Broken Steel, Point Lookout
This is based on my personal experience plus some online testimonials. If you're feeling spicy you can do Point Lookout earlier, as it does level you up pretty fast, but be prepared to get bodied a lot along the way.
Order of Loot: Operation Anchorage, Mothership Zeta, Point Lookout, The Pitt, Broken Steel
Hey, sometimes you just want the best in-game items up front. Definitely pull out a loot guide for Mothership Zeta though, the DLC doesn't let you go back to old areas once you've gone through them once.
Order of Story: Broken Steel, Operation Anchorage, Mothership Zeta, The Pitt, Point Lookout
This isn't based on any official ordering or anything, this is just my intuitive placement according to the main DLC plot lines. Wildly subjective, I know, but here we are. Yes, it does put Broken Steel at the front, but the way I see it, the lone wanderer gets famous from the events of the main game and its immediate aftermath, then gets more famous having wacky adventures beyond the DC ruins.
Order of My Dumb Ass: Mothership Zeta, Broken Steel, The Pitt, Point Lookout, Operation Anchorage
I would not recommend doing Mothership Zeta first, ever, but damn if I didn't go and do exactly that. I made it work, at any rate, and I had a good time along the way.
