I still don't get why they made the new Lagoona pink.

Like yeah they wanted to make the saltwater freshwater racism allegory more obvious but like... why did it have to be Lagoona?

People like Lagoona way more than Gill. Why couldn't they make him Green or something? Actually, fuck it, make him pink instead. Go on Mattel. Do it. Cowards.

Heeey I snatched her for my rewrite/au wuuuu

Her name is Perla Ridicente (the spanish way of saying it btw), a cute and shy telenovela enjoyer that hopes to someday find that especial one for herself. She will chomp your arm off if you make her angry.

Pretty much similar to g3 Lagoona, but if she is not catching up with Lagoona, she spends most of her time with Ghoulia AND Ghoulia only. So even if she wants to have that “happy ever after”, she doesn’t take the time to know other people, so her dates only end with dissapointment. (Am I setting up a Perla x Ghoulia in the future? That I don’t know myself)

The one thing she hates right now is Gill, not because he is a fresh water monster, but because she sees him as a coward, a liar, a good for nothing fool that doesn’t deserve someone like Lagoona (she kinda right tho-... but what is character development if not to make you less of a pathetic fishstick?)

Spoilers for Fresh Waters Run Deep

I don't have any particularly strong opinions about the recent Gill x Lagoona episodes. Though I will say that my heart aches for all the Dracugoona fans out there. The gay moments they have are insane, and it's a crime that they're not canon </3

But I can absolutely agree with the people on here that are saying that Lagoona and Gill's relationship feels very... rushed. Gill is already calling Lagoona "Goony", holding her hand, blushing, etc. And Gill hasn't even been around for three episodes, and this was his first episode where he actually... had a character?? That wasn't Lagoona gushing about him from afar??

The thing is, it's supposed to be "established" that they spend lots of time together and have gotten to know each other, but that's explained to us in the first minute of Fresh Waters Run Deep. And honestly, the first minute is never something that a lot of us remember lol. So, watching this episode, I could not grasp that these two had known each other for a while now. At least, not enough to be hand holding and getting nicknames. Like, c'mon, Draculaura and Lagoona should be calling each other nicknames like "Goony". -_-

And I'm a sucker for slow burn romance, so seeing Cleo and Frankie, for example, slowly fall for each other has been really lovely. But this...? Idk if it's because they were dating in G1, but even then, this is a new generation. A new series. There still has to be the relationship build up

One of the plus sides to tumblr is people don’t feel the need to be the smartest person on a given subject when they talk.

Like people here usually share information in a genuine “isn’t this neat?!” Way and even then sometimes it’s wrong and they get corrected, but usually not in a cruel way. And if someone does try to pull the smartest-guy-in-the-room routine here people will just exaggerate incompetence until the other person gives up, it’s fantastic

#once someone asked on the monster high subreddit why Lagoona doesn’t need equipment to breathe on land #I said she’s amphibious like a frog and can breathe both in water and on land a fact a lot of people ignore or forget #and someone just responded to me with Frogs don’t breathe underwater #just latched onto one small point to make me look dumb about a cartoon character based on a doll #and frogs do breathe underwater it’s just through their skin not gills

I’m disappointed by Mattel

I thought when they announced that Frankie was nonbinary this was the door opening for more characters who are widely head cannoned or were supposed to be in the original version to be announced as lgbt, including Clawdeen a character which the creator of monster high said himself is a lesbian. But after watching the MH trailer today it doesn’t seem like thats gonna happen. Never in my wildest nightmares did I ever think that Deuce and Clawdeen were gonna get paired up. Listen I’m a Frankie x Jackson and Holt shipper for life, but with the slim chance that they’re gonna show up in the reboot I was okay with the idea of Frankie and Deuce getting together because it would be great representation of seeing a nonbinary person in a relationship and just being able to explain to kids “hey frankie isn’t deuce’s girlfriend or boyfriend they’re his partner”. BUT CLAWDEEN?? WHY EVERY REBOOT DO THEY TRY TO GIVE CLAWDEEN A USELESS BOY TO FALL IN LOVE WITH. FIRST THAT RATH GUY AND NOW DEUCE. WHAT ABOUT DEUCE WOULD EVER INTEREST CLAWDEEN? CLAWDEEN DOES NOT NEED A MAN! We don’t know the full plot yet and i’m sure more characters will be introduced in the animated series, so I’m really hoping that Frankie isn’t isn’t just our token gay character.

This feels like a mess of words that don’t make any sense, so sorry.

In conclusion everyone at monster high is gay. frankie’s nonbinary and ace, Clawdeen is a lesbian, Deuce is pan, Draculaura’s bi, Abby and Heath are t4t, Jackson and Holt are pan, Cleo’s bi, Ghoulia’s a lesbian I could go on. (Gill is homophobic)

THE REDESIGN SAGA CONTINUES

This is a funny one, cause it has problematics faves and one that I truly hate, let's discover which one together!

Cleo Denile: based more on what I found was the royal egyptian attire at the time, but in the form of a full body with pants, making the yellowish tones as the main theme instead of the blues. If I have done a goof with this one I would apreciate the feedback cause I'm not egyptian, and idk much about the culture-.

Kieran Valentine: just a few chances to simplify his attire, and also gave him the monster characteristics I love so much. Emotional vampires have little hairs on their ears, as well as a more "puppy bat" nose.

"I never loved draculaura! I have never loved any ghoul!"

Spelldon Cauldronello: okay this one was interesting, cause I just had a strong will and Casta Fierce for a reference for this faceless man. Obviously very punk, and very halloween!. He is a creation of Circe (I like the idea that he was created from soil and like, magic stuff). While Casta inherited the wand and the transformation magic. He inherited the innate talents of herbology and potion making.

Gillington "Gil" Webber: Oh boy here we are. From all monster high g1 it's safe to say I really really hate Gil's design, like ever since I was little I have hated that man for his design alone.

The only thing I saved from him was the water breathing thing and his ""hair"". But I have him a more indigo blue color palette to make it different from Lagoona. And while I don't support this ship, I also get where both of them are coming from (also if I ever make mini comics this is a juicy story I would love to write)

"Why "us" needs to be so complicated? Why can't I do something right?"

Now that I have most of the main cast of characters on character sheets I can finally start a process of "writting an actual mini comic and not procastinating"

Will see how that one goes but hey let's have some hope-
