Monikers Erased AU
This is a character swap and setting focused AU which revolves around Phoenica being the protagonist instead of Molly.
The story would also be adjusted to focus on a different path of character development. So instead of Molly learning to stand up for herself, we now have Feenie learning to adapt to the wild ecosystem of the world outside her household.
Aesthetics-wise, the story takes place in the early 2000's in a city of vandalised concrete and eye-searing glass, a city from the United States as depicted in older films essentially. The prime inspiration for this AU's setting is oddly enough the music video for 'It's My Life', not much to talk about but I just thought it would be interesting to have a setting similar to how the world seemed in movies during that era.
Characters and Setting
The Salt Rock Connurbation (originally Sweet Jazz City)
The main focus of the plot like in the original story.
(Original Show) Sweet Jazz City Modern Technological & Cultural Hub, Limited Regulations, High levels of Disorganised crime, a relatively un-militarised police force, has a Museum*.
(In this AU) Salt Rock Connurbation A Stagnating Manufacturing Hub, High levels of (some times ridiculous) regulations on all facets of society, Low levels of Organised crime, Heavily Militarised police force, has a Large Black Market* underneath a stadium like concert area.
The city is in a Cold War between the Police and consolidated Crime groups consisting of gangs, biker gangs, foreign mafias and arms dealers; no one shoots, no one gets hurt.
*A museum is a place where antiques and items of interest are sold or given to where it can be displayed openly. A black market is where such items are sold and sourced from both illegally and discreetly.
Phoenica Fleecity (switching with Molly)
After losing both her parents at a young age, the last living member of the Fleecity Family has been 'raised' by the current regent managing the family: an investor and financial manager by the name of Ramsey Murdoch.
Said regent however spends most of his time cultivating his the family's investments than taking active care for his technically adopted daughter; that responsibility falls to the army of servants who pamper Feenie beyond unhealthy levels.
Falls into the criminal underworld after deciding to investigate how is a concert about rocks became the talk of her generation.
Other character switches (summarised, will be elaborated on request or in future posts)
Giovanni switches with Percy. So we have a criminal in a crime group because they believe they can bring law and order from the other side. Meanwhile we have an extroverted cop who most likely abuses the police station's armoury yet is very protective of his subordinates.
Sylvie switches with Howie. Howie would be the maintenance worker who keeps the largest concert setting in the country running (while also keeping darker elements underneath the stage from disrupting his work). Sylvie meanwhile is still an epithet specialised psychologist though he does his 'research' in the crime infested ruins of a former industrial zone (the equivalent of Redwood Run I still have not decided a name for yet).
Mera and Indus switch with Arnold & Bugsy. The former would be leading a small criminal arms dealing group setting up shop near where Sylvie happens to be (at the equivalent of Redwood Run). The latter are a rowdy band from the gang Percy is supposed to bring back into line.
Zora switches places with Naven. The latter is the coalition maker of the criminal underworld and thus may have Russian Mercenaries or other miscellaneous allies from the darker pits of society. The former is the head of the most powerful domestic terror group who keeps the latter under its wing to maintain control over the deadlock between the criminal factions to keep the law enforcers from trying anything, lest they risk of turning the city into a warzone.
Trixie as a character concept is flipped upside down. Instead of a kid deep into the occult, we now have them as part of a secretive order of sorts which is on the other far end from occultism: religious zealotism.
To note, this isn't the typical holier-than-thou faith sect, this is the kind that has actual working holy artifacts locked in underground vaults plus a reserved seat of representation at this world's equivalent of the Vatican or Jerusalem.
Either way, Trixie is still a social outsider. Just that instead of making homemade potions, they'd try to make holy/magical items/relics based on descriptions from a tome they'd only managed 9 seconds of reading before the librarians realise a child should not be able to access that section of the library.
Yoomtah also has her personality flipped. So instead of a hyperenergetic maniac, she tries to seem a calm and relaxed figure. Until she decides to get things done.
Ramsey switches with Martin.
The former is a cunning investor and self proclaimed financial advisor who was brought in to manage the Fleecity finances. After the accident that left Phoenica the only living Fleecity, Ramsey had taken over as 'regent' to protect the integrity of the family and to quell potential power struggles from former Fleecity afiliates. Whether this is an excuse for Ramsey making the prestigious household his personal kingdom or a genuine yet mismanaged attempt at caring for his adopted daughter, is yet to be seen.
Martin meanwhile, is a skilled yet infamous inventor in the entertainment field on the run. A creative mind that is absent half of the time with the hounds of his creditors at his heel.
The Arsene Amullet's equivalent (I haven't thought of a name for it yet) will instead grant an 'untaken' epithet instead of taking it from its user.
Blurb (because I need somewhere to dump story related metaphors)
An innocent sheep unknowingly intrudes into the hunting ground of the savvanah. She however, is not the main course of the impending feast, for the predators prowling about have turned on one another seeking clues to a strange trinket hidden in the waters of an oasis. One of the contenders, a cheetah deprived of her hunting ground, approaches her otherwise prey and makes a preposterous proposal.
Phoenica Fleecity, rich, innocent and naive beyond belief; finds herself lost in the criminal underground. To get herself out of this, she enlists the guidance of a gang leader whom begrudgingly takes the heir to privilege through the den of the disdained. Meanwhile a transaction is carried underway in haste and secrecy, its cargo holding the potential to upset the fickle balance of power between the factions of the underworld and the authorities above. And thus, the first steps on the ladder to hell pulls down with it the complicated webs of the world above, inch by inch.

Plagiarism is pathetic, disgusting, and cruel. No one creates fandom content for money. We do it out of passion and love. To pervert the spirit of fandom for the sake of clout is utterly shameful and shows a complete lack of integrity. This entire work is created from stolen ideas by another writer.
The authors’ notes claim it’s inspired by diligentcranberry’s art. In cranberry’s own words, in a message to the original creator, from July 24th:
[We] “Will be posting a fic loosely based on my artwork for your Slave AU prompt.”
The initial art was posted on April 9th, 2:27 pm ET. Cranberry wrote alongside it:
“I’ve added a few elements (cane, keys, matching necklaces) to the WIP because you’ve all rotted my brain.”
Slave!AU was created as a concept on April 9th, and being discussed concurrently with the modification of the art. Everyone involved has read the original fic and been active commenters.
Other similarities include:
Ominis as a Mægister/Margrave, who as a Gaunt is in charge of the MC/female sex slave. He is addressed by that title (not his name) as a moniker of respect.
Sebastian as his subordinate/Handler, who exists a level above MC but below Ominis
MC’s memory being erased
MC being called a ‘thing’ and not having a name
Squibs becoming sex slaves to pureblooded families
The original writer is mostly blind and extremely self-conscious about her writing. She expressed her discomfort during the conversation in July and was ignored. She is also blocked and can’t comment requesting the fic be taken down.
I am aware there are a number of rumors circulating about me. I’m happy to clear anything up with proof/receipts. Regardless of anyone’s history, I believe in treating people with respect. I have kept my mouth shut throughout this entire affair but this crosses a line. To steal another person’s work is cruel and beyond disrespectful. You should be ashamed of yourselves, especially as creatives.
Please do not harass or brigade any of the creators mentioned. No one deserves to be bullied. I merely want to ensure the original author (clockworksiren) is rightfully credited and to caution others to be careful.

Since canon Hazbin starts releasing tomorrow, here’s a snippet of something from my au that’s been in the works for waaay too long! We’re way beyond just calling this thing canon divergent now so why worry about what canon does or doesn’t do?
Fic Excerpt: The Great Experiment
The charitible were calling it 'The Great Experiment', much to Alastor's chagrin. There was an ignoble sort of title, he’d thought! In his lifetime, he'd heard it used to describe both the ill-fated alcoholic Prohibition, and the founding of the American government.
Ah, the Prohibition had been a farce the likes of which he'd not seen again until his arrival in Hell itself! It made him nostalgic to think back on those days. The federal government had been a lackluster entity that he'd found too dull to do more than thumb his nose at in passing.
He had far more respect for this jazzy improvisation he found himself part of in the afterlife.
The Princess' "Great Experiment" was something unprecedented in all of Creation, and by his mind, it deserved a name that showed that! Instead, it was saddled with a moniker which brought to mind ineptitude, poor planning, and bets being taken on the side as to how long until it failed. Darling Husker had already assured him that there was much action on that last note, simply because of how outlandish the endeavor was.
Husk was playing both sides but optimistically favoring success. “We’ll be too erased to know better if it goes belly-up,” the chimera had ruefully smirked. “But Dear Hart, playing is the exciting part of any game, not the outcome!”
The way that his husband grinned was ever-beguiling, even as he joked about their final deaths. Neither of them knew what to think of this notion of the Princess’.
The establishment of a neutral visiting space for sainted and sinner souls, hosted in Hell itself, was a notion that even Alastor himself could scarcely have imagined. The Princess insisted that he had been the one to give her the idea, which was further bedeviling!
There were many in Hell who were against the notion, mostly from those in the lower circles. It wasn’t surprising. The Hellborn cared nothing for the inhabitants of Heaven. It was only in the ring of Pride that any beings looked towards the gleaming light of distant Salvation and fruitlessly wished. Not even the Ring Leaders, fallen angels themselves, seemed to have much use for their one-time home. Mortal souls were the ones who seemed to feel the urge to raise their eyes past the Seal, wondering and wanting.
Alastor himself was not immune to that longing. The brief glimpse he’d once had of Maman had somehow made the lack of her in his afterlife both better and worse- and he was one of the few to know a loved one yet endured in Heaven.
Well, perhaps they would not all long fruitlessly, after today. The establishment of the Tellurian Grounds was going to make it possible. There would be visiting hours in Hell. It was a notion so thoroughly humane that only dear Charlie could have dared propose it. This, her first act as Princess Regent, had been announced to a stunned populace a mere week before. Whatever she had done was in motion, and they were all along for the ride. Today, the agents of Heaven would be coming to begin the process to explore making things official, with a holy descent to the Hellscape outside of an Extermination Day.
Doubtless, the pernicious angels would be looking for any reason to deny the thing. It was already a certainty that there would be an attempt from the lower Rings to disrupt the proceedings.
Alastor and Husk had been recruited to ensure things ran smoothly. The Radio Demon's contribution was the influence of his powers and Husk with what the cat demon termed his "ability to herd dumbasses" to keep anything untoward from happening. Alastor couldn’t help but think that it would be marvelous if Husk’s ephemeral Luck chose to bless them today. They truly might need it.
If Heaven denied the establishment of this small, hopeful gesture of peace between the Immortal Spheres, there would be Lucifer to pay.

So on Twitter, there's a small au going around featuring Jack as a slasher. From what I've seen it's pretty much same ol' Jack except more feral, not dead (?) and chasing around some unlucky ones.
I was wondering exactly what your take on a Slasher!Jack would be? I've come up with a few concepts myself but I'm curious because you seem to expand better on possibilities concerning AUs and writing.
I’ve seen that. Some of the art is really cool and very chilling. (Also some of it is exceptionally smutty, but that’s to be expected.)
Also thank you for such kind praise! I’m flattered you think so highly of my writing.
In a lot of ways, canon Jack does tick a fair number of the typical slasher killer boxes, at least if he winds up going down the murderous yandere path. Most of the most famous slasher movie characters have some sort of supernatural angle to them. An unstoppable killer makes for a very terrifying antagonist after all, especially if Jack has the same level of immunity to pain and fatal injuries as one of the early pictures Sauce drew of him.
Just as a heads up, there will be bloody violence and potentially smutty stuff behind the cut in this post. Remember, Something’s Wrong with Sunny Day Jack is for Adults Only.
Tumblr media
I mean just look at Jack in the lower right there. That’s practically the climax of a horror movie where the “final girl” is desperately trying to survive the killer coming for them.
Credit as always to Sauce for being cool with me using their absolutely lovely publicly posted art in my posts. Remember, please don’t repost anything privately posted over on the SnaccPop Studios Patreon. There’s even more tiers than ever now, with more goodies to discover. Not to mention new incentives including custom artwork, extra content, and you can suggest lines for the Sleepy Time Jack virtual body pillow. Imagine one of your saucy lines being said in Jack’s sexy voice~
And I’m starting to get off topic thinking about Jack being sexy when we’re talking about him being a scary serial killer. Oops! Let’s get back to that, shall we?
One of the key differences between slasher killers and yandere killers is motivation. Yanderes do it for the sake of love, but slashers don’t tend to have that sort of redeeming quality. If they love anything, it’s the joy of murder and being a psychopath. If they’re not evil incarnate, they’re a lost soul so caught up on thoughts of revenge that even innocent people get pulled into the mix. The latter would actually fit Jack’s background disturbingly well considering he was murdered during filming.
It wouldn’t take too much to tweak the canon story in a slasher direction. Heck, you don’t even have to remove the yandere aspect. I mean, let’s face it, Jack wouldn’t quite feel like Jack without his intense love for his sunshine, would he?
Some slasher types are mindless hulking brutes, but some are very smart, even chatty with one liners. Imagine Jack making a bad pun as he hacks some innocent soul in half.
Since a slasher just isn’t a slasher without them committing brutal acts of violence, in this sort of AU, Jack wouldn’t have that hang up with acting perfectly in character as Sunny Day Jack to prevent him from getting his hands dirty.
Imagine if, say, during those 40 years in hell, Jacktor’s mind broke a little differently. Instead of burying himself so deep into the role of Sunny Day Jack to keep his sanity, thoughts of revenge were what he clung to. Brutal, awful, horrible revenge that got more and more twisted as he was stuck in hell, unable to sleep, only able to think and suffer in a place so very, very cold.
Jack is Jack because he reinvented himself as a new identity, sort of like how a lot of slashers are no longer known by their former identities, but by their new monikers. It’s not that Jack believes he is the character of Sunny Day Jack, but that the character is his. He has made it his own, and no one is going to take it away from him.
The studio dares to erase his legacy then replace him and pretend it was always this new replacement? Oh hell no. There’s only one Sunny Day Jack, and no one will ever forget him again...
During the day, Jack is cheerfully loving on MC and being their best friend. At night... he’s picking off his targets, using the persona of Sunny Day Jack in a perversely ironic way to twist the knife - quite literally at times - when getting revenge. Heck, why stick with just a knife? Clowns are far more creative than that, and he’s had 40 years to consider all sorts of lovely ways to enjoy his bloody revenge...
What? An innocent person who had nothing to do with this died? No way - they must have been involved. If they weren’t, that might make revenge a bit less sweet, make Jack potentially question things. He might not be the character he’s playing, but he knows that being happy is a lot more fun than being angry, and he can be pretty jolly when those awful people who crossed him pay the price~!
MC is unnerved by all the deaths being reported, and so gruesome too, but Jack assures them he’ll watch out for them. He won’t let anyone hurt them, he promises.
Still, Jack suggests MC remains vigilant about other people. Don’t talk to strangers except when required at your job. Don’t trust that blind date - what if they’re going to hurt you?
Unlike in the main universe where Jack killing people would be a move of desperation to keep his sunshine, in this AU, killing people would be a source of schadenfreude. He might try to keep things a secret from his sunshine, but sooner or later MC will find out about his dark secret and all the twisted “fun” he’s been having, then they’ll have choices to make...
Jack’s behavior before being discovered as a serial killer would probably be a bit different as well in this AU, mostly due to the variant that he remembers that he’s an actor and isn’t the actual character. He remembers vividly what happened the day he died and all those who may have been involved.
Sticking with the limitation that Jack needs MC to need him in order for him not to be damned back to hell, he would still be sweet and doting. Not to mention MC saved him, and he fell in love with them for being his savior and can feel their emotions. The idea of hurting them is unthinkable and certainly not fun like murdering those who deserve it.
When MC asks Jack questions about who he is and where he comes from... I imagine they would actually be able to pry some real answers out of him, though no doubt with great reluctance and pain. Being empathetic to him, they wouldn’t push too hard to force him to relive it, so to speak, at least not unless they felt pressured by all the suspicious things going on...
So MC believes either they’re hallucinating, or an actor who was tragically murdered is haunting them because they wanted a friend and Jack was lonely like them. With more clues about the incident, they could have a slightly easier time digging into what happened... though I’m sure Jack would rather they not.
After all... if they start looking into LambsWork Productions, they might get caught up in Jack’s revenge, and he doesn’t want to risk losing his sunshine.
Now... a few pictures of the slasher AU have Jack chasing down their sunshine, who is running away in terror. If Jack is dependent on MC needing him around to exist, this wouldn’t be able to happen unless he became powerful enough not to need them as a tether anymore.
Given that in a lot of supernatural slasher movies the slasher is disproportionately powerful, it could be in this AU that Jack doesn’t need MC to need him to stick around, as playing the tape set him free without limits. He just stays with MC because he loves them since they saved him. They could even have this bond between them still.
Really, this makes me think in this AU that MC has nightmares most every night of the killings. It’s not in perfect detail, but they see glimpses of what’s happening. In some dreams they feel the same terror as the victims, as if they were the one in danger. In others, they see more from Jack’s perspective and feel the rush of his emotions, the joy and sadism in killing.
In terms of a visual novel’s routes, there would be a route where MC would have to stop Jack and would wind up being the “final girl” like typical slasher films, culminating in a climax where they’re being hunted down in the studio by Jack who is caught up in a mixture of love and betrayal because they tried to send him back to hell.
The happy ending in this route is succeeding in doing so, though no doubt there’d be a teaser in the epilogue that the threat isn’t over... so MC better watch out since they’ll be the target of revenge next...
In the bad end of this route, MC would fail to stop Jack. Maybe he kills them due to betrayal, or maybe he is willing to forgive them... but he makes sure they’ll never, ever betray him again...
Another route entirely would be getting closer to Jack and understanding his broken mind better. MC learns all about what he’s doing, but isn’t trying to destroy him. Instead, they’re trying to talk him down and stop him peacefully without letting anyone get hurt.
The happy ending to this route of course is breaking through this slasher mentality to reach Jack’s humanity. He is then left to have a breakdown over what kind of monster he became, and MC would help him let go of his hate and finally heal for real. Whether that involves him staying or being put to rest peacefully depends on one’s own personal taste for a happy ending. (I know I like OTPs to stay together to smooch and heal each other’s broken hearts.)
The bad ending to this route is that MC is the one who breaks first. They empathize with Jack too much, get too drawn into his twisted revenge pleasure and join him. It’s still a “happy” ending in so much that the two of them wind up being murder happy psychos together, moving on to wreak havoc elsewhere once business is done with LambsWork Productions. After all, there’s a whole world of fun to be had~
Now... when it comes to my personal interpretation of the canon I use for Sunshine in Hell and how that affects an AU like this... I like to think that MC resonated with Jack in a way, suffering from a similar pain and longing, and that’s why they could summon him from the tape and form that supernatural bond. With this in mind for a slasher AU, Alice’s state of mind is going to be a bit different as well...
With Jack desiring love and bloody revenge, he would resonate with someone who feels similarly, don’t you think? In this AU, Alice is twisted up inside due to the life she’s lived. She was bullied, experienced SA, the person she trusted and loved the most cheated on her, along with other awful things... A part of her wants revenge. She has always suffered with violent thoughts, dreaming of sadistic revenge fantasies where she would paint the walls of her school red with blood, where she would do all sorts of horrible, savage things to the person Ian slept with while he watched before she turned her brutal revenge on him next...
Alice moved out because of heartache, but also because she was afraid that she might murder Ian if she ever saw him again.
Working in food service doesn’t help. Rude customers, long hours, a boss that demands too much work for too little pay... It’s impossible for Alice not to fantasize about putting something toxic into the yogurt she serves so that the Karen who yelled at her dies foaming at the mouth, or maybe her boss Barry can wind up getting chopped up and served up as a new mystery flavor...
It’s sick. Alice knows these are sick thoughts, and she hates how much she indulges in and enjoys these fantasies.
Fortunately, Alice suddenly finds herself with a new friend! Gosh, he’s had such a hard time. All the awful things that happened to Jack remind her of how the world kept crushing her down. They’re kindred spirits in a way.
Jack is also a very bad influence, encouraging Alice to just indulge in these wicked impulses. She jokingly comes up with the idea to do something vicious to someone she hates and wants to see suffer. Jack, being the true friend, asks why shouldn’t she? They deserve to pay for what they’ve done.
Essentially, Jack encourages Alice to indulge in the vice of revenge just like him. He nudges her into doing more, going a little further each time in crossing the line, and she finds that she enjoys it too much. She feels guilty, but thrilled, and he praises her for it, reassures her that what she feels is wonderful. The person she got revenge on deserved it. Why shouldn’t she enjoy seeing those bastards get their just desserts?
Oh, that reminds me, since Jack wouldn’t be stuck in the mindset of the character of Sunny Day Jack he would be free to swear as he pleases. He might be out of costume most of the time and just in costume when committing his murders, though his name is Jack either way.
Basically Alice was someone on the edge of committing violence, fighting it because she knows it’s wrong even if a sick, twisted part of her enjoys seeing others suffer for the awful things they’ve done... and Jack tips her over the edge to join him on the slasher side.
Poor Ian. During all this, he believes that Alice wants to see him to get back together with him. Such a shame that she’s already moved on to love someone else, someone who helped her see that she shouldn’t prioritize other peoples’ feelings over her own. She should be free to indulge in her desires without shame, and not hold back on how she really feels about anyone.
Nick would likely not be Jack’s victim in this AU. Rather, he would be Alice’s first victim. After all the awful teasing, bullying, and entitled customers she’s suffered over the years... what better person to get revenge against than someone who makes her feel cornered and who’s been secretly stalking her for a long time now?
Don’t worry, sunshine. Jack will help guide you through it and show you how much fun getting revenge can be~
In this AU, Shaun would be the “final girl” so to speak, having to end this slasher reign of terror during a bloody climax full of dead bodies and violence. Of course, in true slasher fashion, it only seems as though they’re dead. As a horror director, he would be painfully aware of this trope and constantly worrying about the fact that no one ever found Alice’s body after he was forced to shove her out a window after they both drew blood in the final conflict...
It’s such a shame that Shaun believes that Alice was the serial killer all along and that she was working alone. After all, she was the only one he could see. How could he have ever expected a supernatural lover to catch her and save her from a fatal fall and make sure she wouldn’t bleed out from all the injuries she took during the final fight?
Of course... Jack isn’t going to take kindly to anyone trying to kill Alice. He may have come back from the dead, but that’s no guarantee that she can do the same.
No one will take his sunshine away.
Shaun almost got away, but not all “final girls” live in the end, do they? Such a shame...
No one knows what happened that night in the studio, but the next morning LambsWork Productions was all over the news. It’s impossible to hide murders when anyone with the power to do so is already dead. What’s more, it’s like the murderer wanted everyone to see such a gruesome display of death and carnage. How horrible!
Of course, since sometimes slashers have a motivation to come back to life along with their revenge. Also, it’s a popular trope that rituals to revive the dead tend to wind up with a lot of other people getting slaughtered in the process. Put them both together and, well...
Let’s just say that the epilogue involves a new location, with neighbors who are a bit intimidated by the big fella with the muscles and tattoos who just moved in with his girlfriend.
Fortunately, Jack quickly shows the neighbors just how friendly he is, and he’s so affectionate with Alice, who is adorable in her own right. What a relief it is that the new neighbors moving in are so nice. They could have been someone dangerous. Can you imagine?

follow up to [post] exploring the crack au if lwj was a girl
〒▽〒 ps im not trying to erase canon lwj representation, not at all, wangxian is mm in all my other fics, this is just stupid fun
in a ceteris paribus situation aka all other things staying equal:
1) Lan Wangji 100% still has a resting bitch face, which probably would get her a couple of “Lan-er-guniang 美若天仙 (beautiful as an immortal/goddess) but would benefit from smiling more” comments but nobody is that desperate to die yet so, she’s spared. But damn... imagine the sheer number of thirsty boys who’d try to secure a marriage with LWJ. None of them is good enough for Wangji as far as Lan Xichen is concerned. Okay - maybe in Lan Xichen’s opinion, Nie Mingjue is good enough, but he couldn’t be less interested. I see her as I see Huaisang, Xichen please.
2) Everything interaction between Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian in Wei Wuxian’s first life is now 500% more scandalous.
Exhibit A) Their first meeting at the gates; Jiang Cheng immediately felt his spidey senses tingling.  —“You’d sooner have immortals flying out of your ass than get with someone like her. The second jade of Gusu? The pearl in old man Lan’s eyes? C’mon.”  —“Shut up, A-Cheng.” —“Uh-huh.”  —“Also, she’s not that pretty. Her brother Zewu-jun is much better. There’s a reason he’s ranked first.” WWX is still a disaster bi.  — “LMAO, you? Zewu-jun? Please.”
Exhibit B) Just because LWJ is a girl does not mean WWX grew more brain cells.
WWX, straight up to Lan Qiren’s face, “Lan-meimei and I - we’re zhiji.” (he means it like we’re kindred spirits, peas of a pod, etc)  LWJ: *does not deny* Lan Xichen: ⚆_⚆ Lan Qiren: ಠ╭╮ಠ
Exhibit C) Lan Wangji getting drunk the first time. Wei Wuxian knew he crossed a line the minute he invited Lan-er-guniang for a drink. Really, WWX, even for you, this is inappropriate. When Lan Wangji fell face first onto the table, Wei Wuxian knew, he fucked up. “Hey....hey...Lan....Lan...-er-guniang,” He poked her. “Don’t...don’t sleep here! You can’t sleep here! If your Uncle finds out or if Jiang-shushu finds out...they’ll skin me alive and then...and then they’ll make me marry you! I don’t want to marry you; you don’t talk and I’m too young!”
WWX, being a dipshit, “Hey Lan Zhan, call me Wei-gege.”  LWJ, drunk as fuck, “Wei..gege.”  WWX *((( heart )))* ???
Exhibit D) The Cold Pond. Okay, so I don’t think Zewu-jun would sabotage his sister’s virtue by sending a stupid teenage boy her way while she’s bathing, but doesn’t mean Su She is above all that. Wei “I didn’t see anything I swear!” Wuxian. Lan “I will gouge out your eyes.” Wangji. Somehow they still end up in the cave. Maybe WWX got in the water after LWJ got out and got sucked into the vortex and LWJ heard the commotion, turned around, saw WWX had disappeared. “Wei Ying?!” A panicked LWJ jumps back into the pond, “Stop fooling around, come out!”
Jiang Cheng and Wen Qing 👀👀 when LWJ and WWX fall out of the cave together. Also the fact that Lan-er-guniang and Wei-gongzi went missing, together, for two days. Who knows what could’ve happened. I mean anything really. I mean... that’s gotta stir the pot a little were it not for the Yin Iron stealing everyone’s attention away from this bit of juicy scandal.
Oh the whole story... so much to work with, so little time.
3) Because Lan Wangji is a girl, now suddenly there’s a high ranking member of the Lan Clan who can host the girls at Cloud Recesses. I mean, Mianmian, Jiang Yanli, Wen Qing, Lan Wangji - SISTERLY FRIENDSHIP. Other than Mianmian, none of the girls are really talkers which suits Lan Wangji perfectly. Even Mianmian’s chatter is endearing.
4) Lan Wangji is absolutely still a powerhouse during the Sunshot Campaign. The inherent aesthetics of fem!lwj telling the Wen goons to “kneel” - no one will deprive me of this.  Also she will still cut off your arm if you cross her - Xue Yang and Jin Guangyao ya better watch out still.
I am TORN between two options: Lan Wangji tol and kickass or Lan Wangji smol and kickass. On one hand, the aesthetics of willowy elf-like LWJ, on the other hand, 5′2′’ of whoop ass who can and will throw an unconscious wwx over her shoulder firewoman-style and toll him to safety.
And amongst other things:
A) Lan Wangji still becomes Chief Cultivator, because excuse me who else is left to clean up this mess? Jiang “Short-fuse” Wanyin? Nie “I won’t do what I’m not intended to do” Huaisang? Jin “13 year-old” Ling? Or Sect Leader Yao?  Technically, being a woman means that she was never Lan Xichen’s heir, but at the end of it, it’s not like Gusu Lan is left with a lot of choices.  Just the poetic justice of Gusu Lan pleading for Lan Wangji to come back when she fully intends to 隐居山野 (retreat into the mountains) with the resurrected WWX.
Lan Wangji being Chief Cultivator would echo Lan Yi’s tenure and rectify the fact that Gusu Lan’s only female head of family “failed”. Lan Yi had to face a mountain of prejudice because she was woman; someone has to say “up yours” to that. A woman as not only the sect master of Gusu Lan but the Chief Cultivator? Love that for Gusu Lans. (⌐■_■) ☞ ☞
B) Because of ~ sexism ~ I wonder if Lan Wangji would get titled “Hanguang” at all even after the Sunshot Campaign. Even Lan Yi, the SL Lan of her time didn’t have a title. Chances are LWJ won’t either. (Note: Violet Spider is not a title, it’s a moniker). So — say after the way Lan Wangji is still just “Lan-er-guniang”, and she does not obtain the title “Han Guang” until after she leaves Cloud Recesses and become rogue. (srsly how did they come up with these titles in canon, did gusu lan just look at 21 year old lwj and be like yah he’s lord light bearer *cue trevor noah stand up joke* why do you call yourself “great” britain? isn’t that a bit presumptuous? shouldn’t you go around doing good things and then let other people come to the conclusion: oh britain look how great you are? same logic with lwj.)
Lan Wangji, a Jade of Gusu or a nameless rogue, still goes where trouble is, helping those who need it. After laying low for a year or two to heal, Lan Wangji began night hunting. Donned neck to ankle in white silk and tulle, and a weimao (wide brimmed veil hat) obscuring her face, she became known to the people as Hanguang Sanren, the lightbearing wanderer. Gusu’s highest power probably has some idea who she is - or at least they can guess - but the vast majority of people don’t.
C) Lan Sizhui raised by rogue Lan Wangji as his mum would be different. Still cultured, respectful, but definitely with an air of keeping others at arm’s length.
For instance, grown-up Sizhui running interference and saving a cohort of gentry disciples on joint hunts.
Jingyi: 这人谁呀?Who is this guy? Zizhen: 多谢兄台搭救之恩,小可看您眼生,敢问兄台尊姓大名,何门何派,改日当登门拜访. Many thanks for saving us. I don’t believe we’ve met, pray tell what is your name and sect, so we may visit at a later time to thank you for tonight. Sizhui: 在下无门无姓 ,单名思追 。举手之劳不足挂齿 ,怎敢劳烦各位名门子弟答谢。My name is Sizhui, belonging to no family and to no sect. As for tonight - I only did what anyone would; it bears no mentioning and requires no thanks. Jin Ling: 你这人,看你工力不凡,想和你交个朋友,可你怎么遮遮掩掩的。Hey you, we see you’re a talented cultivator and want to make your acquaintance. Why are you so dodge-y? Zizhen:金陵 — Jing Ling - Sizhui: 若是有缘,还会相见。告辞。If it’s fated, we will meet again. Farewell.
Later:  Jingyi: 思。追。 思追谁?Si. Zhui. To recollect and long for whom?  Sizhui: 母亲的一位故人. Someone from Mother’s past.  Jingyi: 你父亲?...Your father?  Sizhui: 我不知。I don’t know.
I thought about how cute it would be if sizhui and jin ling knew each other but guys...Jiang Cheng literally thinks he killed Sizhui’s biological father. Like he literally thinks he orphaned Sizhui before Sizhui is even born. And Lan Wangji would never accept anything from Jiang Wanyin, not that it would stop Jiang Wanyin from trying.
A package of books here, a new robe for Sizhui there. Lan Wangji doesn’t know how Jiang Cheng keeps finding her. She and Sizhui are nomadic.
D) The inevitable conversation after wwx is revived.
You know what would be funnier than Jiang Cheng thinking Sizhui is a wangxian baby is if Lan Qiren thinks Sizhui is a wangxian baby.

Star Wars!Vampire AU
Tumblr media
Notes: I adored this idea thanks for sending it in! Please keep in mind this erases/ignored anything close to ‘vampires’ from within the main/extended Star Wars cannon! Make sure to send in your May the 4th requests here, I’ll keep answering them tomorrow as well!
This AU starts when Vampire!Jedi Anakin meets Human!Padmé and despite the vows of his order to help protect harmony between vampires and people marries, turns and has vampire children with Padmé. This is illegal and forces him to join the Sith, a rouge coalition of vampires that believe themselves above intergalactic law and who manipulate Anakin into becoming their leader. Padmé refuses to align with their beliefs of vampire supremacy and starts her own faction.
The Jedi and Sith are opposing factions that predate the Anakin/Padmé blood feud. The Jedi are dedicated to coexistence and finding an alternate source of survival for vampires across the galaxy. The Sith see nothing wrong with humans and other non vampiric life forms serving as fodder for their survival and seek to rule over them.
The Rebellion grows and eventually Padmé passes her role as leader onto her children, choosing to go into a deep slumber full of heart ache and grief as the Empire, still ruled by Anakin now under the moniker of Darth Vader, grows and overpowers the galaxy’s free people.
This evolves into the First Order which is a coalition between Anakin’s coven of vampires and it’s supporters and the Resistance which is all those who follow the Rebellion’s family.
Leia would be the head of the rebellion’s faction, her twin brother Luke always running point for her on missions. Han is her human consort, and a staunch supporter of the family even though he initially only signed up to be her boy-toy.
In a twist this pits Rey (a human friend and supporter of Leia’s faction) and Vampire!Kylo Ren as mortal enemies. Rey is tasked by Luke to find Leia’s son, but when confronted with the reality of his nature is unable to sway him. Kylo has lost touch with any humanity and views people as little more than a food source.
I like to imagine this AU has all the same intergalactic political drama as the prequel trilogy just meshed with the legal issues presented in TrueBlood where the debates are how to view/treat vampires and their needs for survival within a modern world and legislature.

Guardian Angel
Prompt: Iridescent Fandom: Bleach Characters: Kurosaki Ichigo, Kuchiki Rukia Setting: Modern AU 1,034  Words
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There was something off about Kuchiki Rukia.
Granted, Ichigo didn’t know her that well.
She was just the woman who lived in the neighbouring apartment, they didn’t really socialise or anything. Just nodded and said hello if they bumped into each other coming or going. And she’d come to introduce herself when she had moved in.
But Ichigo had a sense about people and although he couldn’t put a finger on it, he was utterly convinced that something was up with Rukia.
Most people using the monikers of a psychic or a medium were charlatans, ripping off people who were at their most vulnerable.
Ichigo had nothing but contempt for them and did not at all wish to be associated with that lot of vultures.  So he didn’t really put any labels on his abilities.
Not wanting to use such words didn’t change the facts, though.
And the fact was, that just like the kid in that American movie, Ichigo saw dead people.
Like the little boy who was standing beside his bed right now, sniffling.
Ichigo sighed and sat up. He reached out, feeling like his hand was plunged into a bucket of something ice cold and thick and gelatinous as he ruffled the ghost's hair.
"What's wrong?"
The ghost's tear-filled eyes met his. "I'm scared of the dark."
"Well that's easily fixed," Ichigo murmured, then flicked on the lamp on his bedside table. "Good night, kid."
Ichigo laid back down and turned his back at the light and the ghost.
Before he fell asleep he heard the soft whisper in his ear.
"Thank you."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was late in the evening, after a long day of work and an exhausting commute when Ichigo finally turned onto the street he lived on. He was focused entirely on getting home and flopping into bed and paid minimum attention to his surroundings – until the dark and malicious threads brushed against his senses.
Ichigo stopped, instantly alert and looked around.
At first, he didn't understand what he was seeing; just the dark shape of something big that was looming at the end of the street.
He didn't know what it was, didn't even want to know what this creature could possibly be.
Because he could feel it, and the energy creeping over his skin was pure evil.
And then the huge, evil entity was moving and coming straight towards him.
Shit! This was bad!
Ichigo willed his legs to move but they didn’t obey.
He stood still, watching in horror as whatever that ugly ass thing was bounded closer.
Something moved in the periphery of his vision.
The panicked thought that there were more of these ugly things roaming about had barely had time to surface before he realised that someone had just leapt out in front of him.
A small someone, dressed in a cutesy sundress.
Ichigo blinked.
What the hell?
What was the idiot woman doing?
That’s when he noticed the sword – and more importantly, the way she was holding it: like she knew what the hell she was doing.
Ichigo swallowed.
He’d known something was off about Kuchiki Rukia.
And speaking of, she seemed different somehow… and not just because of the sword.
Then he realised what it was: for the very first time, he could actually see her aura, and it was unlike any he’d ever come across.
Usually, people’s aura’s were predominantly one colour.
But Kuchiki Rukia was bathed in a multitude of shimmering colours that kept shifting around her like an iridescent halo.
A shout of warning stuck in Ichigo’s throat when the creature lunged – but Rukia was already jumping forward to meet it, her sword at the ready.
It happened so quickly that Ichigo didn’t even register the purposeful slash of Rukia's sword arm until the evil creature was already dissolving, evaporating into the air, erased.
The world around them was quiet, the malevolent energy gone.
Gone also was the sword with which Kuchiki Rukia had destroyed it.
Ichigo shot a narrow-eyed glare at her.
“What was all that about? What the fuck was that thing?”
Rukia's face was calm, and she shrugged her shoulders as she replied. “We call them Hollows. They’re evil spirits that devour souls.”
Well, that didn’t sound disconcerting at all.
Ichigo shook his head, pushing aside the topic. He wasn’t ready to process all this shit about Hollows yet, and anyway, there were still some pressing questions to ask.
Such as...
“What are you? What the hell kind of aura is that?” he demanded, scowling darkly.
“Quite the opposite of hell, actually,” Kuchiki Rukia replied, her deep violet eyes amused. “It’s a celestial aura.”
“What? Like some kind of an angel?”
“Of a sort, yes.”
“You’re seriously expecting me to believe that angels are real?” he scoffed.
“You show a remarkably shallow faith for a man who can see ghosts.”
That shut Ichigo up and made him frown all the more because how could she possibly know that about him?
Unless she was telling the truth.
But that would be ridiculous. Wouldn’t it?
An angel. Living next door. And one who could wield a vanishing sword, apparently.
Guess you couldn’t make that kind of shit up.
Frustrated about all these bizarre turns of events, Ichigo scratched his head.
“Well thanks, I guess. For jumping in like that.”
Crazy at it had been, Rukia had likely saved his life.
“No thanks are necessary,” she replied. “I was just doing my job.”
Trepidation snaked down Ichigo’s spine as his whole body tensed.
“What job?”
She quirked a single eyebrow at him.
Ichigo opened his mouth and closed it. He rubbed at his temples.
He could just feel the headache building up.
“When you said angel of a sort,” he drawled after a moment in a tight voice, “would there happen to be such a sort as guardian angels?”
Rukia’s slow smile was all the answer he needed.
Ichigo muttered a few choice words and stared at the petite woman, the woman purporting to be his guardian angel.
He didn’t know in the slightest what that all meant, but he was certain of one thing: his life was about to get a lot more complicated.

vigilante!descendants au
you got it dude. kinda a little incredibles inspired??? idk
it’s a dumb joke, at first. of course it is - vigilantes and superheroes have been outlawed for years, not to mention that… they’re a bunch of kids. they wouldn’t even know where to start. sure, some of their parents were superheroes or villains or vigilantes before they were forced into retirement, but it’s all a joke anyway, really. they each pick out their superhero names, laughing at how silly they feel, each one of their names dumber than the next.
mal decides she’d be the enchantress, playing on her mother’s villainous alter ego and use of magic. evie would be blue queen, referring to her mother’s penchant for stealing coveted jewels. jay laughed and tossed in his own name, genie, for his father’s powers. carlos says fuzz, for his mother’s love of furs, and everyone laughs. doug claims the brain, hoping to break away from his father’s reputation for being the goofy comic relief. and ben finally settles upon taking up his father’s old moniker - the beast. (mal suggests that he be the pup, since technically he’s his father’s son, but ben rolls his eyes and throws a pillow at her.)
it’s all a joke. until…. until one of their own gets taken. evie bursts into their hangout, crying. “dizzy is gone,” she says. everyone sits up, confused and concerned, mal rushing to her side. “what do you mean dizzy is gone?” carlos asks, from his spot on jay’s lap. “she’s gone,” evie sobs, nearly collapsing in mal’s arms. “they took her.”
everyone freezes. they know who she’s talking about - a source of evil so powerful that no one dares speak their name. they’re the source of evil that the superheroes and vigilantes fought against for years, until the government decided that they could handle them and the independent villains themselves and made it illegal to take crime upon oneself, even if you had superpowers. they take children. they deal in slave trade for villains seeking henchmen. mal swallows, remembering when her own mother tried to make a deal with them.
mal swears fervently, and ben stands. “we’ll find her,” he says determinedly, and everyone, even evie, turns to look at him incredulously. jay scoffs. “how?” he asks. “it’s not like we can do anything.” ben swallows. “remember when we talked about being vigilantes?” they call a group meeting.
they sit at the round table in the center of their hangout, called that because it is not only a literally round table, but because king ben and his band of knights gather here much like former superhero, king arthur, once did. “that wasn’t a serious suggestion,” carlos says eventually, breaking the silence. everyone looks to him and he swallows. “i’m as upset as the next person that dizzy was taken, but… the government thinks they can handle it. plus half of us aren’t even superheroes. we’d just be…” “vigilantes,” doug finishes. he looks nervously around the table. “carlos is right. he, evie, and i wouldn’t really be able to do… anything to help.” “evie knows combat,” mal defends. evie, still sniffling puts her head in her hands and begins to cry anew. ben shakes his head. “you can’t think that?” he asks, and both doug and carlos say nothing. “doug, you’re the brains of the operation, and carlos, you’re the heart. we need you.”
jay pipes up, finally. “it’s not safe,” he says. “the government would catch us instantly.” “not if we don’t tell anyone,” ben says surely. jay raises an eyebrow. “you sure you can handle dropping everyone you know like that, princey? your mom and dad? because i had my parents ripped away from me.” ben swallows. “i know, jay,” he says. “i know. i love my parents. but we can’t just… sit here while evie’s sister is gone. we just can’t.”
doug takes in a deep breath, and grabs ben’s hand above the table. “i’m in,” he says. “my parents… my parents would barely notice. my father’s barely even lucid half the time. i’ll help.” “you know i’m in,” mal cuts in. “i go where evie goes, and i want to help her find her sister.” carlos and jay look at each other. carlos has fear in his eyes, but slowly, he nods. “okay,” jay says. he looks back to ben. “okay. we’re in.”
they run. they run fast, far, and they hide. evie sews them suits out of scraps from inside her mother’s old dress store. mal constructs armor based off of designs she found in dizzy’s sketchbook, of all places. doug tries his best to erase all traces of their identities. jay steals what weapons and supplies he can find. carlos takes to the streets, attempting to get any information on them and their warehouses. and ben trains everyone, teaching mal and jay to better control their magic, and teaching doug and carlos hand-to-hand combat and weaponry.
they’re small, but powerful, and within weeks, everyone across the country has heard of their team. women gossip about it in beauty salons, children tell each other stories on the playground, convenience store employees discuss it on their smoke breaks. they talk about how the enchantress is angry and vengeful, using her magic to get information out of each opponent. blue queen is sad but strong, using her daggers to pin her enemies to walls and holding blades to their throats. genie uses his own magic to push his own wills onto others, controlling their minds as easily as anything else. fuzz uses his bow and arrow, shooting at any member of them he can find. the brain is constantly setting traps and hacking them into different locations. and the beast, seemingly returned after years and years of retirement, leads them into battle. like any good king. their goal? find one girl. their mission? take them down.

xx.essential
Posting for the first time in several years? You betcha! All has been well in blogging terms, just not an avenue I’ve felt like driving down for a while. Notably, though, I have in recent years devised a fair few of the kinds of playlists which would’ve been at home here; capsules of time, of feeling, of a certain state to close your eyes and breathe through. Sequenced, nuanced, structured to be a greater sum. Music in that way that hasn’t really changed since our first uncoverings of punk rock back in high school.
The past decade of my musical taste’s maturation has exposed a certain style as a personal signpost. And not in the way that black t-shirts can pose as personality, something more visceral and exclusive. I often explain it as “female fronted electronic pop”, but unlike easy monikers such as “chillwave” or “doom metal”, nothing I’ve heard simply stamps this genre with its own catchphrase. So, I’ve coined a signifier I’ve applied to a few playlists in the past, with a special niche of energy inside of the “female fronted electronic pop” umbrella: “xx”. These are songs to wash yourself over with. Sounds to play when you know you need them, as favorite artists have a way to be that kind of warm blanket.
In nuts and bolts, these songs have all been released within the past ten years at most. The singers are all female. There is a general sense of danciness abound, for the deepness with which the synth sounds are wielded. Some setups are little more than a laptop and a dream, though many are more of a traditional guitars and drums arrangement. Woven throughout are remixes, featured vocalists and collaborations. The band Yumi Zouma crops up a couple times, and I’m honestly not sure sometimes if that means the band, their new singer, their old singer (at a time known as Madiera, now Laumė) or some combination thereof. Above all, these are songs I’ve spun near a hundred times apiece, and that feels like only a fraction of the time in the sun they’ll have on my watch.

The Toymaker
Notes about the Monikers Erased AU
If Martin in the Monikers Erased AU is still Molly's father. Then this opens up the opportunity for him to have an actual future redemption arc, at the cost of more anger to be thrown at him due to his actions more than just behavior.
Here's how:
The fire at the original Blyndeff household was made worse by the fact the fire alarm failed to trigger. Martin feeling survivor's guilt and responsibility for the death of his wife due to his grave oversight of properly checking the fire alarms, flees or hands over his daughters to social services (or life was cruel enough to force the latter). To cope and distract himself from his situation, Martin throws himself into the world of entertainment and has refused to look back since.
He still lets memories of his former family leak into his mind but this may lead to his internal sorrow leak into his work from time to time as a way to release some of his psyche's burden. Even more tragic is if Molly, from wherever she winds up in (either an orphanage, under Naven' care or someone else's), actually plays with some of these toys and is able to sense some of that sorrow contained within, and empathises with the toy maker with the obviously fake name/ alias.
Martin would eventually gain some small amount of both fame and infamy, with the latter attracting the ire of a particular corporate chairman and negotiator. Forced into hiding from grunts and hired guns, he eventually finds himself cornered in this AU's eqivalent of Redwood Run (maybe a salt mine or abandoned industrial zone?) just in time to be caught up in the flashpoint of a new war.
One day perhaps, Martin may end up crossing paths with his long lost daughters at the scene of a major plot point. Will he be able to make amends as sins of the past both his and others burn down the world around them?
That, we may consider.
