adding gender to gates to infinity!

a common complaint about gti is that you cannot select your hero and partner's genders, unlike every other game in the series. (this might not have been a problem, except both characters are referred to as "him" on one or two occasions)

weirdly, the japanese version allowed selecting partner's gender (though not hero's, for some reason), but this was removed in the international versions. so... I modded the deleted code back into the game!

(interestingly, the dialogue in the above video was already in the game's files! so I guess the localizers worked directly from the script data)

idk if someone has done this already, but if not, I'll be releasing the patch for anyone who'd like it! first, I need to change the script to reflect the changes, and I'd also like to add some custom code for choosing the hero's gender as well. that'll be more involved, so we'll see how much work that takes

Burger On The Grill

Part 7: Building a Burger--Frilly Lettuce

After completing the donut tutorial by BlenderGuru, I was challenged to create something similar by myself, so I chose to make a burger. Last time, I sliced some tomatoes. Now, let's add the lettuce.

Modeling From Reference: Method 1

I tried two approaches to meshing the lettuce. The first follows the method I used for the orchid.

I added an image as a plane to use as reference. I created a new plane object and positioned it over the reference image, working from top view.

I extruded this plane along the stems of the lettuce, added points and filled planes, following the natural flow of the lettuce in the image.

Once I had this flat geometry, I went to the UV Editor, still in top view, and used Project from View to create the UVs over the lettuce reference.

Modeling From Reference: Method 2

The second method is faster and allows for more detail at the edges.

Modeling Lettuce by Default Cube

In Photoshop, I cropped my reference image and used selection methods to eliminate the white background. I saved the image as a PNG with transparency enabled.

I added this image into Blender as a plane and subdivided the plane by 4 levels. I hooked the Alpha of the image into the Alpha of the Principled BDSF shader so that the transparent parts were hidden.

A couple of settings needed to be adjusted because I was using transparency.

To get rid of clipping in Eevee:

Materials → Viewport Display → Settings → Blender Mod → Alpha Clip

To get rid of black artifacts in Cycles:

Render Properties → Light Paths → Max Bounces → Transparency → 20

I now have a flat leaf of lettuce. But how do I get this leaf to frill?

Displacement

Using Photoshop, I saved a desaturated version of the reference with transparency. This image will be the key to transforming my lettuce.

Back in Blender, I added a Displace Modifier and set the desaturated reference as the controlling texture. I added a Subdivision Surface Modifier with 5 levels so that I could add a second Displace Modifier with the same texture to provide smaller detail. I finished off by adding a Smooth Modifier and increasing the Repeat.

Here is the Lettuce Creation Process:

Positioning

Because I needed this lettuce leaf to fit in my burger, I used Proportional Editing to lift or lower certain points on the mesh until I got something that was less deep.

Fitting the lettuce on the burger was the most tedious part. I duplicated my leaf until I had 3 leaves to rotate and position on top of each other.

In some places the lettuce looked as if it were floating. In other places, the leaves would clip through each other or the tomatoes or the bun.

I wish I knew of a tool that would just smoosh them down together and save me from all the fiddling.

Instead, I placed one leaf down at a time.

I added a Cloth Modifier to the first leaf of lettuce to mitigate the floating issue and added Collision Modifiers to the tomatoes. I checked Self Collisions and increased the Collision Quality to 3.

Dragging the Cloth Modifier just above the Smooth Modifier produced good results. To reduce clipping into the collision objects below, I flipped the normals of each leaf to face upwards.

I applied the modifier stack at a frame I liked, fixed any remaining issues with Proportional Editing, and added a Collision Modifier. Then, I repeated the process on the next leaf.

On the last leaf, I added a Shrinkwrap Modifier to eliminate clipping into the top bun.

And there you have it! The burger is done!

IT COMES AROUND AND COMES AROUND AND COMES AROUND AGAIN- BNHA CHAPTER 191 REVIEW!!

Welcome to my review of Chapter 191 of the Boku no Hero Manga! I discuss the topics of symbolism, story continuation, and character development- WARNING, THERE ARE SPOILERS!

ALRIGHTY FOR THOSE THAT DECIDED TO READ THIS… Welcome and hello! We have a lot to go over, so let’s get started!

From where we last left off, we listen in as Dabi confronts both Enji and Hawks. Enji’s eyesight is apparently blurry, as we can see from the slightly morphed panel.

However, as Dabi gets closer, the haze clears- and Enji identifies him as Dabi, the murderer of Snatch and part of the League of Villains. There’s no true recognition here (sorry Dabi Todoroki fans), but now we see the title- “Ch. 191: Dabi/Hawks/Endeavor”.

Here’s something that I’ve noticed.

Can we look at the chapter title for a moment? At first I looked over the sequence of the names, but after rereading it a few times… something catches my attention, which I will get to at a later point- but do keep the title, and specifically the order of Dabi/Hawks/Endeavor fresh in your brain! Anyways, on to the next pages…

Dabi sets up a large circle of blue flames, effectively cutting off the rest of the city from Enji and Hawks.

It’s… honestly interesting, as this is also something I realize. Everyone currently present in that room has had a direct, or at least appearance knowledge of Dabi- Yaorozu, Midoriya, Tokoyami, Kirishima, Kaminari, Tokoyami, Tsuyu, Bakugou, Ochaco, Sero, and Todoroki… all of these had confrontations or at least saw Dabi- excluding… Shoji.

It might tie in with the new Shoji arc that was promised to be appearing soon- but who knows? I might be looking too much into it, ahah…

(Side note: HI SEROROKI!!!)

Back to the battle, Enji tries to stand once more- with Hawks, bless his heart, is telling him to stand down so he can protect him- with Dabi claiming he just plans on taking the Noumu… though, as the next page shows, that’s the last thing on his mind. And with that, he proceeds to attack the helpless duo- until thankfully, the bunny heroine Miruko shows up!

Dabi calls for someone named Ujiko… which I don’t know exactly who it is, but I’ll do some research.

The next pages are of Dabi telling Enji not to die before they meet again… and them being congratulated by the media, while Fuyumi, Shouto, Natsuo, and Toshinkori look on… a “happy” ending- well, with Enji losing consciousness.

But then… this part.

When reading through this at first… I was shocked. Hawks, a villain? But- well, let me fully analyze these pages first.

Hawks and Dabi meet in what seems to be an abandoned warehouse, and they talk about… the time of the Noumu attack. Dabi calls it a test for Hawks- while Hawks… tells Dabi that this wasn’t what was planned. The conversation lasts for a few more moments, with Dabi telling Hawks that he would contact him later… in which (sorry hotwings fans) it seems Hawks rather dislikes him, and vice versa as well.

And to my relief- the “Villain Hawks” is debunked a mere few pages later, with Hawks being asked by two officials to go undercover in the League of Villains to lay all their secrets bare… which answers quite a few questions as well.

And that answers many, many questions.

Political things like these take time to plan… which explains Kamino Ward. He wasn’t asked to join the attack on the League of Villains because… well. A hero that attacks them, and then asks to join them? Sounds pretty fishy if you ask me.

And here, we see that… Hawks really is a good person. He’s worried about the casualties that will… occur when he’s off gallivanting with the League of Villains. But he knows that for the big picture, of the world he envisions for the future, it may be something he has to do.

Also, I would like to Qualify Hawks as a Slytherin.

Cough. Anyway.

The end of the page is Hawks walking into Enji’s hospital room…

His mascara/eyeliner is smudged, possibly meaning… that he was crying.

“Endeavor, I’m sorry.”

“I…”

And here is where I’d like to bring back the title.

Ch.191: Dabi/Hawks/Endeavor

And… well… please notice how Hawks is squished between Dabi and Endeavor.

Dabi, his link to the League of Villains, the risk to his life… and Endeavor, the Hero he’s respected since he was a child, what probably inspired him to become a Hero himself.

Squished between the burden he has to carry, putting his own life in danger to gather information on the League of Villains, and his feeling of comraderie and respect for Enji- his possible wish to just… be a Hero that can inspire like Enji.

I have a theory.

If Dabi is actually a Todoroki, like many of you have been theorizing yourself, then it’s possible… that the story of these three sides, will continue into ways we could never believe at first.

As time continues, he will work closely with both Enji, lying to him about certain things, about his affiliation as double agent, gathering information from the League of Villains, until… the final clash arrives again, much later.

My theory is that Hawks will continue to work with Enji, continue to get closer to the No. 1 Hero as both a colleague, and… possibly a friend- and promptly either be exposed by Dabi as a traitor to the Enji, or be told the truth of Enji’s past.

Either way, he is squished between the League and the Heroes… and I am so, so worried about this poor boy. He’s only twenty-two, four years of Heroing under his belt- it’s a lot.

It’s… I’m very, very worried for him.

But enough about that…

At the final page of the chapter, with Hawks visiting Enji, we see Dabi as well- remembering Snatch… saying that “[I] thought so hard about it I went crazy.” Which possibly means… regret? And yet- another thing to the Dabi is a Todoroki theory, interestingly enough.

Dabi- if he was a Todoroki… thinking of how his family feels… it’s possible that’s what made him go crazy- it’s possible his own family’s feelings is what he is reminiscing about- but that’s just a theory! A Fiiiilllllmmm Theoryyyy!!!

And uh, yep! That’s the end of my review of Boku no Hero Academia Manga Chapter 191: Dabi/Hawks/Endeavor!

So up top it looks like you’re doing this for an AU in which:

there are trolls that have not yet fully matured who live on a sister planet called Tronia

sister planets have “princesses” who presumably retain local authority to govern, though the Heiress’s and the Condesce’s authority would presumably supercede it

the canon trolls still exist and interact with your trolls (indicating interplanetary communication) but presumably haven’t played SBURB yet

mutantbloods are automatically assigned the Cancer sign

That’s all I can glean so far? So apart from those rules, I’m going to review your character as though she’s Alternian, since it takes place in the same universe.

Name: Sallva Spiral

You don’t really mention why you gave her this name, but since she’s a self-insert I am going to assume that the first name is at least somewhat related to your first name. The last name could do with some obfuscation though; ow about Xilleh, which is just “helix” backwards and with an extra ‘l.’ It’ll also help hammer home the “mutated DNA” theme I’m hoping to include. I also like it because now both her first and last name have two l’s side by side, which kind of looks like a strand of DNA that has unwound before replication!

Strife Specibus: woo! I am unsure if it’s an actual weapon or not, but before the game she doesn’t have one. Her Strife Specibus consist of two mini scythes (she got the code from a friend of hers), connected to chains that cuff to her wrist. That way, if one gets knocked out of her hand, she doesn’t have to jump all over the place to retrieve it in battle

I think that’s still a specibus; it’s just scythekind. In the meantime, I’ve had a look at you and your co-author’s profiles on deviantArt, and I think y’all may be interested in the mechanics of the Spiral Knights MMO since it links your names together! In light of that, maybe you wanna try swordkind, given that it’s the iconic Spiral Knight weapon? You can still keep the concept of a weapon that’s cuffed to her wrists.

Fetch Modus: I am unsure of what to give her. As if I’m going to be honest, she’s more likely to use a bag than a Fetch Modus

How about we split the difference with a BACKPACK MODUS, with 4 compartments that have limited space?

Blood Color: Gold! Haha

So here is where I’m trying to hammer home the mutantblood concept bc you’ve made a goldblood with very very obvious seadweller ears, and those two generally don’t…mesh…

I may lose the ears, but I’m gonna take a page out of CD’s book for an “aquablood” mutant we got a while ago and make her a polyblood to preserve some of the interesting aspects of this character. I’m thinking cerulean, since there’s overlap there both in the symbol visual and in eye-weirdness. Also lets me keep one of the colors in her initial color scheme with easy design justification.

She could be a polyblood who was basically assumed to be a “pure” goldblood because of her eyes, but whose true abilities lie in being a latent ceruleanblood.

As for why she wasn’t culled as a baby: this yellowblood doesn’t really look like a mutant, and even if her weird cerulean eye is an indication that she is, look at the other one. She’s got partial voidrot! She’ll be dead soon anyway. So the reason Sallva is still kickin’ is because, as a gold/ceruleanblood, her cerulean side generates enough energy to temper her voidrot, while her gold side dampens her psychic abilities by feeding off the energy. No telekinesis.

Symbol and Meaning: Her Symbol is actually from the Extended Zodiac, so I am unsure of it’s meaning.

It’s Gemsces, sign of the Prudent! A quick rundown: overbearingly smart, restless and skeptical, and always looking to take care of others. Also, prudence means showing careful thought and planning for the future.

Troll Tag: spiralLights! It’s a reference to her original last name that I had given her before I found out about the 6 letter thing.

Quirk: she replaces her ‘s’ with ‘5’, her ‘a’ with ‘@’, and her ‘o’ with ‘0’

While this dovetails with canon, we’ve also found with Hiveswap Friendsim that quirks needn’t necessarily be all that complex! We’ve been operating off the quirks of a bunch of real dramatic trolls for a while now. But maybe that’s who your troll is! If we go specifically with the polyblood redesign, the “too many quirks” could also just be a reflection of her inner self, which is a soup of contradictions.

I think I can make up sufficient reason to keep these quirks; Sallva can swap her s’s out for 5′s because of the 5 nucelotides we commonly see in DNA and RNA. She can swap a for @ because it’s a spiral. As for swapping o with 0, I have I think a sufficiently interesting backstory for her that’ll make that work.

Actually let me just add another one, for fun, if you’re keeping the new last name: Sallllva doublles allll her ‘l’s. The quick br0wn f0x jump5 0ver the ll@zy d0g. Give5 her @ nice llittlle dr@wll, and overdramatic to boot.

Special Abilities: She’s a Gold blood, so it’s obvious she has some sort Psychic ability. Hers is Strong Empathic abilities. Sometimes they can be so strong she gets confused as to which emotions are hers, she can also guess a person’s thoughts sometimes.

Goldblood abilities are typically telekinetic in nature, not psychic! But I really really like this concept, so I think this gets folded into the polyblood mythos; she’s heavily empathetic because of the psychic abilities that ceruleanbloods sometimes get!

To make things interesting, let’s make it so she has stuttering resistance to psychic attacks; sometimes active resistance, and sometimes an even lower resistance than usual depending on her mental state.

Lusus: Her Lusus is a mix between a Snake and an Eevee. Why? Because I like Snakes and am a Proud Slytherin and my favorite Stuffed animal is an Eevee. Her Lusus is Deceased

Also works for the polyblood theory, since polyjuice potion uses snakeskin and Eevee is like, the Pokemon for taking a generic base and turning it into whatever you want.

Personality: She’s paranoid. It doesn’t really affect her often, but she was one of the few in her session who was Skeptical about SGRUB. She’s loyal though, as well as possessive. She’s actually killed trolls who picked on her friend, who’s a mutant blood. She gets most of her traits from me. She’s my ‘True Sign Troll.’

Interest: She loves Art, her cat Frisk, Writing, Snakes, Plants

Iiiiiii don’t know that trolls can have cats as like…pets? But let me sell you on a different idea: when Sallva’s yellowblood lusus was killed, she despaired. Her mental health went downhill. She was unusually prone to psychic manipulation. Until…she was found by a ceruleanblooded lusus who had lost its charge. It is highly unusual for a lusus to bond with an adult troll, but it had just lost its troll at a very young age, and was mostly acting on instinct to find the nearest unbonded ceruleanblood. Most ceruleanblood lusii seem to be bug-like, but we could argue for something like the Catbus from My Neighbor Totoro:

Title: Mage of Life - She actually uses her ability over Life to control plants to help her fight, or to talk to animals to get help. I am unsure all of what a Mage of Life can do, but I do know they make brilliant doctors, especially if they reach God Tier, which Sallva does. After ascending to God Tier, she refused to kill another Soul, mostly because she can feel their pain. The only exception being her Ex-Matesprite, Adrium.

Hmmm. Once again, since this is a self-insert I’m loath to change stuff like names or signs or titles since people usually come to it after a great deal of introspection. Makes more sense to retrofit the character abilities so…

Let’s consult my co-mod’s write-up on what a Mage of Life is!

I don’t know that she’d be able to control plants or ask animals to get help, but it makes a lot of sense to me that she’d be able to encourage nearby creatures to help just by broadcasting her distress. Also I really like the touch that she’s essentially railroaded into the Hippocratic oath after god-tiering because of overblown empathy. I would be most interested in seeing how Adrium’s death would affect her, since her anger wouldn’t supercede his pain.

D/Ancestor: I am unsure, I haven’t actually come up with them quite yet.

How about the Inklling? Unlike her descendant, this troll was mistakenly assigned as a ceruleanblood. She was most famous for having devastatingly accurate hunches when solving mysteries, much to the chagrin of the tealbloods below her. In reality, this was her empathetic abilities manifesting themselves, though they were deeply tempered by her partial voidrot, and therefore not detected by her fellow caste.

Land: Land of Jungles and Deserts - *Snickers* I most put her here because I wanted to be able to make her complain about being a Sea-Dweller in a Desert and stuff.

So since we’ve made it so she’s no longer a seadweller, how about we subvert this here by submerging her in water? Maybe Land of Corals and Chorals to really hammer home an almost mermaidy theme?

Dream Planet: Derse - My baby’s a proud Derse Dreamer. Anyway this is relevant in the way the Derse Dreamers are Blue Team, and Prospit Dreamers are Red Team.

History: Sallva actually blames herself for her Lusus’ death, why? Because her Ex-Matesprite killed her. Adrium (Ex-Matesprite) is a violent troll, but Sallva overlooked his faults until it was too late. She gets revenge during the game and kills Adrium, though she looses her eyes and a piece of her horn to the fight, she reataches her horn with a vine though. She currently only has a Moirail (which I might upload later.) Her Sprite is Frisksprite, who jumped in the orb thingy (I forgot what it’s called.) They live on a sister planet to Alternia called Tronia, and have in fact met the Cannon Trolls a few times when Tronia’s Princess went to visit her fellow Princess, Feferi. They haven’t been there since Alnaya (Princess) got in a fight with Feferi. Though a few of them remain friends with the Cannon trolls, for example; Sallva and her Moirail Nellie still being friends with Nepeta and Equius(did I spell his name right?)

Yep, you spelled his name right and submitted the character correctly! Let’s move to the redesign!

As always I try to keep self-inserts in particular as close to their original design as possible. Credit for the outfit goes to naphal.

Hair - just added stuff here and there to give it volume!

Horns - I gave her a second set to match with goldblood norms!

Visor - changed to match new eye colors

Mouth - added teeth since both ceruleans and yellows are a toothy bunch

Shirt - so USUALLY you’re not really allowed to display your symbol in anything other than your blood color, but I thought keeping it black was a nice nod both to the voidrot and to her polybloodedness.

Who: Thunderstruck1, #322224

What: Poor behavior

Why: Harassment both on FR and dA, public blacklisting on both sites, art theft, negative behavior towards artists, multiaccounting, lying/making claims without proof.

When: I don’t know when it actually started, but I got involved around June 6th, 2017 and is currently ongoing.

Explain: There’s a WHOLE lot of stuff going on with this user, but I’ll start from the beginning.

Let’s start off by saying that me, LadyAaron and another deviantART user are all involved. LadyAaron was kind enough to help me gather the evidence for a report on both FlightRising and DeviantART.

I first noticed this on a certain tumblr. This user, bloomvaltor, was uploading FR dragons, claiming that they owned the dragons. They gave no credit whatsoever, and lashed out when people told them to give credit. (link to deviantart account)

Many, myself included, jumped in to politely ask to give credit. The comments have since been hidden, but they are all polite; they ranged from “hey can you please give FR credit? thanks!” to in-depth explanations of FR’s ToS, as well as deviantart’s.

And Bloomvaltor lashed out at every one of them, claiming that the commenter was being rude, and that they were bullying Bloom.

Up to this point, all of these accounts have the same thing in common: exalted progens, Guardian-only lairs, all befriended each other. This is too convenient, and is pretty shady. While there’s no actual confession, I’m confident enough to believe that this is an extreme case of multiaccounting. 

Onto art theft: Of course, the dragons. They’ve recently started putting a link to FR in the description of the dragons, but according to ToS that’s still not enough, as they must put “© FlightRising” somewhere, which they fail to do. (That I’ve seen so far)

As you can see, Thunderstruck1 offers a measly 60 gems for a 500 gem skin, and then gets upset when the artist refuses the offer, stating that “no one is going to buy that skin for that much gems.” Which, by itself, is a pretty big red flag.

Here, you can see where they call out LadyAaron, claiming to only have one account and not wanting to start drama. HOWEVER…

They have also begun to slander mine and Lady Aaron’s name by lying and making claims without proof. All of this is happening offsite on DeviantART:

In this journal, they call out me, KuraiPokemon066 and Gothica-The-eevee, claiming the three of us have been cyber bullying them. They make a ridiculous claim that I made a fake account to send them a childish message. Keep in mind that I haven’t interacted with them since June, and have since forgotten about the entire thing. 

This account is called BloomvaltorTheif, and I have proof that we are not the same person.

The Nintendo Wii Mini

Just one month ago I purchased my very first Nintendo home console a Wii Mini. When it comes to Nintendo consoles I don’t have any experience at all with them. I own a 3DS since the end of August which is a brilliant handheld system (that I should cover in the future), but not a full blown home console. Nope I don’t (and had never own) even have a NES, SNES or an N64. Mainly because Nintendo was the only gaming company that flown under my radar completely as a child. So I was really excited when I found a used Wii Mini at my local game store and I just couldn’t wait to get my hands on my very first N home console!

So I booted up and no picture. I thought OK maybe I just plugged the component cables into the HDMI converter in a wrong way. After I confirmed that I’m indeed not colour-blind and plugged in everything in the right order I ventured into the depth of Google to figure out what was wrong with my system. I could hear the menu tone and even felt my controller vibrating so my Wii Mini couldn’t be defected. A few clicks later I found my answer for the lack of video output. As it turns out the Wii Mini can’t use component cables! So if I wish to play with my console I have to fall back to use composite cables. I was a little frustrated at that point. How a system released in 2012 couldn’t handle component output?! If you don’t understand why that is a problem basically with composite (5 plugs) you can get a much better and clearer video signal than with component (3 plugs), even the PlayStation 2 a console which is by the way older than the Wii can handle it. Luckily I own an AV2HDMI Mini converter so after changing out the video cable and converter I finally was able to see something on my monitor.

See?! I’m not a Sony fanboy! I have a Nintendo console too!

Obviously it wasn’t a good first impression from the little device. It’s never good if the first thing after booting up something you don’t see anything. Now maybe I’m asking too much from Nintendo but I was genuinely surprised that I can’t use component cables. Mainly because the normal Wii was capable to pull out such a trick like that. Anyways I knew that I’m going to lack some features with the Wii Mini, like the lack of internet connection (which is absurd too, but I don’t really care about net) and no SD card support but I just can’t understand Nintendo sometimes (most of the times). According to them the Wii Mini is a cheaper alternative than the original Wii but that shouldn’t be the excuse to sacrifice image quality. No internet and SD support? Fine... You don’t want your console to get hacked. Although if you want to avoid hacking provide a better service than the hackers. Also looking up the prices back when the Mini came out it was only a couple of bucks cheaper. So who at Nintendo thought that the Mini is a good idea? It literally makes no sense.

OK. Enough rambling! What does the Wii Mini can offer you? Well in sort you can play Wii games on it and that’s all. If you wish to use it for as a cheap way to play Wii games (I wouldn’t recommend it) than you are good to go but bear in mind that is the only thing that the device is capable of, and if you wish to hack it to increase its IQ and show it what a present day (or 2010) device can and should do than you are shit out of luck my friend. Now I’m not saying that you should hack or mod anything that uses electricity and you should always support the developers by purchasing their games. All I’m saying is that if you wish to do it on this device than you are going to have a bad time (or a nice challenge). In summary; no internet, no dvd player support the only thing you can do on the system literally is playing Wii game on it.

The starting library, still need to buy a couple more games....

When it comes to games the Wii Mini can handle all of the Wii titles relatively well, just bare in mind that with component cables the picture quality will be a little washed up. Basically the image quality looks like a moving water painting. So I would highly recommend purchasing a basic component to SCART converter that will help a bit. Oh also if you have an old tube TV that would be the best option to hook up your console to. Ok enough image quality back to games... The titles that I currently own are running fine and it’s really interesting to use motion controls too. Currently I own Twilight Princess, Cod MW/WAW/MW3 and other games that I wish to cover in the near future, but this time I only wish to speak about the console itself. I have never really used motion controls in the past so I was a little hesitant first how it will turn out, but I was pleasantly surprised. It took me a few minutes to get used to it and after few hours when I was completely confident and stopped pressing the wrong buttons and learnt how wildly I have to swing the Wii Mote or Nunchuck. Also using the two controllers are really good and they fairly comfortable to hold not to mention that you don’t have to hold your hands close to each other like with any usual controllers. So most of the times I’m just hanging my hands down by my sides while playing (well at least when I don’t have to point at the screen) and it is just sooo comfortable and I really enjoy it!

Gimmicky? Yes. Fun? Hell yeah!

So far I’ve finished Modern Warfare, World at War and I’m halfway through MW3 and Twilight Princess. Using the Wii Motes for aiming in cod is hard at first and it is something that I still not really used to it but it is a really interesting way for playing an FPS game and it gives a good twist to it that I like. Maybe I shoot bullets all over the place not hitting anyone at all but man I like it! Maybe it’s because I have completely missed this motion control nonsense so it’s still new to me but I really want to see this concept not to die. Especially that Sony already has it so maybe if they would do something about it that would be nice. Not to mention if someone who hasn’t played a game before than motion controls is a great and simple way to teach them how to play. Speaking of which!

Also I got my hands on a normal Wii that is protected by Sylveon!

The biggest reason I love this little machine is that it was capable of doing something that I have failed countless times. Mainly introducing gaming to my family members and other friends who are normally trying to stay away from gaming as far as possible. My father really got into Mario Kart! Since I showed him each day he request to play a couple of tracks which is insane because I showed him games before that he would like but never got into them, so to see that he is the one wanting to play is an absolute joy! Other than my dad’s liking of Mario Kart Wii my mom and sister has an interest in Wii Sports and Just Dance 2014. They haven’t really got hooked into them but if I see them bored and I suggest playing a few rounds of bowling or dancing they don’t hesitate to say yes.

Over all the Wii Mini is maybe not the best device (and as of writing this I already got a normal first model Wii) but if you find one at a yard sale and there’s absolute no way for you to buy a normal one, go for it! Playing games with motion controls as I have already stated in this mess of a review a dozens of times is really fun and well made also if you are trying to introduce gaming to someone you care about than a Wii is an excellent system! I often like to give shit to Nintendo when they deserve it, but man when they do it right they do it an outstanding performance. So now that I own some consoles from the Big N and played some of their games I have to say: I’ve got some catching up to do and play some games that I missed completely.

IT’S THAT TIME AGAIN!!! CHAPTER 190 REVIEW

HEY there folks, glad to be here again- I'm absolutely ready to dive deep onto this weeks Chapter!! And... oh boy, do we have stuff to go through...!

WOAHWOAH FIRST PAGE AND WE'RE ALREADY GETTING INTO SOME DEEP SHIT- Alright, time to talk about the page!

First off- oh thank god Horikoshi didn't kill off Hawks. Thank you. Thank you, gods bless you, th a n k yo u. It seems like once Enji attacked the Noumu, it was pushed away before it could grievously injure Hawks... which is. Absolutely fantastic?? Thank.

Secondly, that episode title... "The Beginning Of"... wow. It's... it's a cut-off, a literal beginning of a sentence. It's symbolic, because... well, I'll talk about it more near the end.

Thirdly, the words beneath their portraits... it... explains a lot, actually. The Noumu's is easiest to understand- seeking powerful Heroes, to kill, to beat down. But... it's Hawks, and surprisingly, Enji's that has my attention.

Hawks is mostly easy to understand as well, though tells much more of his character along with the previous chapter. He's a guy that just wants things to be easy for everyone- for Heroes and civilians to live in a world where they don't have to fear, where they don't need to work as much- where Hero rankings are done by approval, instead of strength, or weight on the world.

He knows that the world he envisions isn't going to happen anytime soon... he knows that right now, the people need a symbol. A sign. And... that sign, can be Enji. He can't be it- he's not the right calibur, he doesn't have... well, a broad enough back. He's not strong in a physical sense. He knows he can't be the saviour the people need... and that's where Enji comes in... and where his words peak as well.

Enji says that... he wanted to be stronger than anyone. And... yea, we see that- nearly everywhere we go. But can we look at the wording here? "I wanted to be stronger than anyone". Wanted. As in... he doesn't want it anymore. Maybe it's a translation thing, but... I think this shows me that he's finally understanding. He's trying to get better- and this Noumu... it reminds him of himself. And I'll get to that later too. He wanted to get stronger- but now he knows just what exactly he gave up... what he did. And I think that's really important.

The next page we see is is immediately this one- the Noumu about to be punched by Enji... and subsequently, loses its complete awareness, it seems. It is seen acting like a beast after, no longer speaking or sentient... just seeking to fight and kill.

In this page, we see that the Noumu- though no longer aware, can still use its quirks quite easily.

And Hawks- oh honey, what a hop, skip and a jump... so we've seen his feathers are probably not connected to his pain? As it seems all he can do is watch as they burn... it doesn't seem to hurt him. Maybe they regrow? ...hopefully?

We also see Enji yell Hawks name- and it's almost... completely out of nowhere, until we see the rest of Enji's thoughts, as seen here.

He talks about the Noumu- and says that he is "obsessed with the pursuit of strength".

And here it is. "You are... just like me! From the past... or perhaps an alternate future... now burn... and rest for all eternity!"

He sees himself in the Noumu. He sees the powerhungry, violent monster he was. And yes, I say "was", because... well. It's said in his dialogue too. "Now burn... and rest for all eternity". He's putting it to rest. The pursuit of ultimate strength, the monster he could have been, the monster he was- he's finally putting it to rest. All his efforts, all his anger, his entire being... in this one, final attack- into Plus Ultra.

And regarding the "perhaps... an alterate future"- it shows me that he knows what he would become, should he have continued on the path he was taking before. But now, he isn't. Now, he's taking the time to... learn. To adapt, to get better.

And that speaks so many volumes to me.

And... oh boy. The Todoroki's. Shouto... calls him dad. He... acknlowedges that his father is getting better. Fuyumi, and Natsuo too watch-

Shouti tells him finally- "You told me that you were going to a hero I could be proud of- well, now I'm watching!"

I'm watching you.

Watching you fight.

Watching you struggle.

Watching you struggle, to get better.

There are so, so many ways to interpret those simple, two words... but I feel they demonstrate what Horikoshi wanted well enough, at least. And gods... Horikoshi, you're a miracle worker, I swear.

The following pages are... the world watching as Enji...

Beats the Noumu.

Beats... the monster he was, and could have been.

And tells the world... his family-

That he was struggling. Is struggling.

But he also tells them... that he will be there. Even if he struggles, even if he can't always win...

He will be there.

"The Beginning of".... the beginning of his stand as the new symbol- or so it seems. Not with this new threat, after all... as Dabi shows up, uninvited. I just... don't know what's going to happen- not really- but whatever it is, I hope our two Heroes survive the ordeal.

BNHA CHAPTER 189 REVIEW!

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD! Please click “Read More” if you’re interested!

Alright, so this chapter was... sure was a doozy. We begin with Hawks standing by a defeated Nomu, saying that they weren't strong at all.

And then- the destruction of a building... which was Enji's fall.

These few pages, we see the news. Other pro heroes are attacking the Noumu- but wait! Enji is moving his fingers- and they seem to be talking about the event where they lost the Symbol of Piece, with the destruction of many buildings.

Oof. Enji is taking a big ass beating... this Noumu seems to be getting more and more unstable as well. That can't bode well.

And here. Natsuo is sown to very much despise his father- but Fuyumi... this is the reason he did all those things. He wanted to beat All Might, to bridge that unbridgeable gap- in whatever way he could, no matter the consequence. And that blinded him to his family. He never gave up- that's what Fuyumi was saying. It's not that he ran away, but that he was always so stubborn that it gave him tunnel vision- unable to see beyond the straight narrow pathway.

Alright let me get this out before anything

Okay back to business-

Alright. In this one, a woman says that this is what happens with the absence of the symbol of peace... and to be honest? She isn't wrong. However- another guy, he starts yelling that she's prattling nonsense. (Also Aizawa runs up to them to check on Shouto and I'm screaming happily on the inside, momzawa is here)

Shouto... he's starting to see the change in Enji. Like during the provisional hero license retake arc, Enji told Shouto that he was going to try and become a hero Shouto could be proud of. Does that mean forgiveness for what he's done? No. Absolutely not. But... the slight change is there.

He's going beyond his limit... plus ultra indeed.

HERE'S THE PART I REALLY WANT TO TALK ABOUT.

And that. Is the kicker to my love for Hawks.

And now I can freely talk about it.

Hawks? Is NOT an Endeavor fanboy. No- instead, I think there is a large amount of respect. Hawks is a Hero that can be described simply... the least amount he has to do- to get the job done is good enough. And yet, here we see Endeavor building his way, with a rock and a broken plank, to bridge the gap of power and strength that there is between them-

I'd go as far as to say that Hawks... is a little jealous of him. Jealous of what he would do to reach the top- and now that he's got it... yeah. He was relieved it wasn't all a farce on Endeavor's part. Now, see, that could all change if Hawks knew what Endeavor actually did, but for now, he knows Enji. Enji, not Endeavor, the man that realized his mistakes, his shortcomings, the problems...and is trying to get better.

I believe that the smaller winged child is a younger version of Hawks, looking from behind at the man that no one believed could do it- could bridge that gap... that kept trying for years. And he respects Endeavor.

And that's how he knows Enji will be the new pillar of society- and he plans on helping too. Because that man took all the words aimed his way, all the sayings of "you can't do it" and "he's crazy"... and still strived through it.

Well, those are my thoughts, anyway...
