Kingdom 2

So i know the line up for 'Road to Kingdom 2' is out although im not 100% sure it's confirmed(?)... for those who don't know the lineup is: Cravity, Xikers, ATBO, THE NEW SIX, YOUNITE, and 8TURN... i heard rumours and mentions of tempest but im not too sure. I also know that there are fans that are against road to kingdoms for a multitude of reasons that are definitely valid but as a multistan I can't help but be a little excited for the awesome performances and idol interactions we're gonna get!

anyways, I knos that the show hasn't even aired yet and I'm getting ahead of myself but here's a list of groups I think will be in Kingdom 2 and why! Mostly 4th and 5th gen groups listed! BUt lmk what yall think too!

ZEROBASEONE

For starters Kep1er was on queendom 2. They started off with a strong debut so I definitely see why they would. I don't really have too many reasons for them it just makes sense...? Only downside is that they have to go through another survival show...

2. TREASURE

Honestly for a YG group, treasure is pretty underrated. I think they'd have doubts about participating on Kingdom 2 because tbh it didn't really go well for iKon but I think the leaders of treasure would push an encourage the members to do it. Especially since YG is ass at promoting and they haven't had a comeback in 9 months. I think they'll definitely have a comeback before kingdom and during kingdom. And although they are underrated they are still well-established. Also victims of a survival show...

3. BOYNEXTDOOR

BND is possibility. I feel like because they're under hybe people don't see the need for them to participate but I also feel like they'd want to try something different or challenging since they are still a pretty new group.

4. P1HARMONY

with my whole heart and soul they'd fuck. the. stage. up. I feel as though this is also a very well established group but kingdom would give them an opportunity to better express their creative idol outlet. I think they'd also be hesitant since SF9 participated but they'd also like to try something new/different!

5. NCT WISH

also a maybe group. they are newer so I'd see why they'd participate but they are under SM so i'd feel their fanbase would be bigger but because they are a japanese centered group it would give them an opportunity to promote more in korea. I also feel like they'd do it to prove something - becasue they're new but they also want to show off they're own talents within NCT. PT3 OF VICTIMS OF SURVIVAL SHOWS...

6. &TEAM

Another victim of a survival shows.... also another maybe group. I also think they'd use this as an opportunity to promote more in korea, also try something new and challenging. I think it would also pave way for them to express their artist creativity. I say maybe because they are under hybe but i guess that's probably besides the point?

7. CIX

TBH IDEK i just feel like they would? I am more of a casual CIX listener. Seeing as they are a, imo, well known group I think they'd also do it for the opportunities. They are really talented. I started listening to them bc of jinyoung (wannable) but after watching YGTB i started to get into them more bc of seunghun and bx too... they're also three victims of survival shows... ATP i guess i have a type...

7. AB6IX

ehh tbh idek either... i guess similar to CIX since they are a 4th gen group too. Daehwi and Woojin... more victims...

8. RIIZE

HUGE EMPHASIS ON THE MAYBE. Only really put them down because they're 5th gen. with them I also see it as a creative outlet opportunity and something to prove. like yes we do have talent and our success is not bc of the company we're signed under.

9. TEMPEST

if they aren't on RTK2 then I feel like they'd be on kingdom 2.

10. TWS

cause they're also new? also an opportunity for a comeback.

TBVH i did think of groups that most definitely would not participate but that's due to a number of reasons and in all honestly I'm terrified of fandom wars breaking out.

on the topic of produce groups and popularity while i do think the built in fanbase any contestant has on a produce show gets is a bonus there are some anomalies in popularity that dont always guarantee produce contestant alumni success. ive and lssfm have the most popular members in izone. meanwhile everglow is popular overseas (not sure about korea they dont have many wins) with midranking/lowranking produce 48 members. but cube has a group thats about half produce 48 members mid/high ranking that barely get promo? these arent the most solid examples because a contestant doesnt have the same amount of popularity as someone in a produce group *but* weki meki has 2 produce members in their group from i.o.i (who were very popular)and they dont have much popularity to show for it. so its a balance between company and member popularity. if a good company has less popular contestants or members they can make it work.(i.e. everglow) if a bad company has a popular member its not always a surefire success. (chungha basically put her company on the map meanwhile fromis 9 had a FLOP company until hybe finally swooped in) starship and hybe hit the jackpot. popular members AND good promo.

i mean yea, it absolutely does depend on how the company handles it and how popular each individual member is. saying everyone gets the same popularity boost from being on a produce show is a bit too much of a blanket statement bc honestly it's about half and half if the popularity actually does something significant or not. like even for wanna one; you have kang daniel who's more or less a household name, and also yoon jisung, who does musicals and cute flop citypop tracks and makes songs with his dog. and there's also how the show saved nu'est from the brink, even when minhyun didn't promote with them for two years. even at the less opposite ends of the spectrum, ab6ix might as well be called daehwi and the woojins, but baejin barely stands out from the rest of cix anymore, even though they are similar groups with similar-ish popularity. and of course that's not even bringing up the mess that was x1 and how all the offshoot groups from that are doing.

me, a jtbc music survival show and nugu group enthusiast’s time has come!! or it will...once this airs in 2023...................

#the producer is the one from sing again...cant say im a fan of sing again's format even tho i rec the show (1st season) #but it's a whole new series so i'm excited!! jtbc always focuses more on the music side and like behinds process of the performance #so that makes me happy bc that's the whole reason why i watch survival shows like just for the creative processes and cross interactions #this one seems like they're competing as groups the show isn't wanting to make a ''new'' reboot group or anything #so i guess it'll lean close to mnet's kingdom gig?? but jtbc has to do better than that omg that show was.....it was a show i guess #but has jtbc ever done a full blown idol survival show?? all the ones i've watched some have idols in them but the focus is not idols #mostly just unknown/indie/normal people which creates a naturally organic atmosphere i think #anyways i like the more organic artist focus jtbc usually does for their shows so im so excited tryna think which groups would go on omg #but i feel too many groups i knew of are too old for this now but jtbc does pull a pretty different crowd compared to mnet #also their channel audience skews older (that can also be a reason they don't do the drama edits lmao) like the target seems late 20's-40's #so maybe the older groups will come out!! fingers crossed!! #i feel it won't be just 4th gen like it has to have 3rd gen there who knows which gen will be the predominate but that seems like fun #i don't think the stages will be on the scale of mnet and 3rd gen did not have the same performance dance oriented focus #so i wonder how the stages will look what the song choices will be will their be cross group stages despite it being a group vs group show #i think i'm going to have so much to say when more info comes out we still have a long time unless they plan on airing in jan or feb #whatever first half means to them but yea i will be going feral in the text posts #delete #tea talks
