this is the situation in this setting

many generations ago mesret and vindrani were lovers and they traded the day and the night meeting only at dusk and dawn. but mesret started to get sick of vindrani's shit bc she would build something up during the night and vindrani would tear it down the next day. their opposing natures seemed irreconcilable and vindrani refused to apologize for her behavior. so mesret got mad and sealed her under a volcano and took over her duties. hundreds of years later mesret is being worn down by the pressure of running both the day and the night but she's too proud to admit her mistake. she develops a close relationship with a mortal girl, hedia, and installs her as her oracle in the head temple in the city of the goddess so that hedia can speak for her and she can conserve her limited energy

vindrani has been spending those hundreds of years trying to get out of the damn volcano and it's finally worked but her presence is very weak. to hide herself from mesret she enters the body of a mortal girl, rasmi, so that she can slowly collect power. rasmi has noticed a change in herself but tries to convince herself it's only the stress of moving so far from home

the only thing mesret and vindrani can agree on is that hedia and rasmi should NOT date each other but for a couple of goddesses there's not a lot they can do about it. anyway hedia and rasmi's relationship ends up leading the two goddesses on a path to reconciliation and returning balance to the world again

other than the goddess stuff hedia and rasmi are pretty normal. hedia especially is not that interested in being a priestess and does it bc she loves mesret like a mother and owes her a huge debt - she was born without a right forearm and mesret blessed her with a glowing magical prothesis. rasmi honestly would rather not be involved. it comes as a surprise to her that her gf is the head oracle and she almost runs when she finds out so learning that she herself is hostess to a goddess is even worse

hedia's probably like 19 and rasmi's a little older, maybe 22. the princess or queen is barely 18 but already in charge. the city of the goddess is roughly based on persepolis so the queen should be inspired by achaemenid fashions but I dont think those are cool and sexy like egyptian and minoan fashion. so I have to find some other banger outfits from the ancient world for her to wear
