She sucked in a deep breath and smiled warmly, her eyes twinkling under the bright lights of the stage.

“Good evening, everybody!!!” Miku yelled excitedly into her microphone.

The audience erupted into a sea of cheers.

Miku exhaled loudly and placed a hand over her heart. “This is Miku Shirazuki and I’m here representing Minato Division! Thank you for having me— it is an absolute honor to be a part of the first ever nation-wide Valentine’s Day Pageant.” She extended her arm out in front of her, almost reaching for the audience.

“And I would just like to thank all of you for such a warm welcome back for my first performance since my retirement. And—”

She was interrupted by the wild cheers from the audience.

“Ahahaha… And… while I won’t be making a return to the world of idols and entertainment, I would like to have one last performance and properly say ‘goodbye’ to all of you when I couldn’t before. I’ve left the idol world behind but you will all still see me around for the Division Rap Battle. But until then, this is my final stage as the young idol you once knew.”

“So! This song is for all of you. And if you are familiar with this song, I would like to invite you all to sing along with me for my goodbye stage. This is for you guys. Play music!”

Miku’s voice cracked and a single tear steamed down her cheek as the final note faded into silence.

Her ears rang, taking in the loud cheers and applause directed to her.

Her fingers trembled against her microphone and she collapsed onto her knees, burying her face in her hands.

“Thank you…” Miku whispered. “Thank you, everyone…. And I’m so sorry I gave up on you…”

Aoba sighed as his modeling shift was finally over. He didn't do modeling much, save on days when he was free from his job at the library. After hours of smiling, turning this way and that, he was prepared to finally head home and relax. As he saw his home in the distance, he could see something waiting for him by the doorway, a small rectangular package. Cocking an eyebrow, whilst looking around cautiously, he picked up the package and walked into his house.

Looking around again, he opened the package to see what was inside. As he did, his eyes grew wide and he covered his mouth in shock at what was inside. It was... several pornographic DVD's featuring the one and only Vivian Vixen. Aoba had heard of this woman before and had even had the pleasure of seeing her... in action before. Purely for curiosity's sake, of course! But he had never gone out of his way to purchase her movies, no matter how talented he was.

As the librarian felt his cheeks getting red, he wondered briefly if this was someone's idea of a prank. Looking around once more, he opened one of the DVD's and looked as something fell out. It was a slip of paper. Kneeling down, he picked it up and unfolded it to see that it was a letter, which read:

'To Aoba Yamamura,

Merry Christmas, good sir! I've heard much of you from my good friend, Lola Takahashi, and I've seen you in pictures before. You are very much a good-looking person. Therefore, I felt it was necessary to give you something as a Christmas gift since I was made to be your Secret Santa this year. I hope you enjoy my... present. Don't hurt yourself watching them!

At the end of a letter was a kiss mark, which only helped to make the model/librarian even more embarrassed. He was very confused to his next move. Should he hide these so no one, especially his teammates, ever saw them? ...Or should he just take the leap and take one small gander at them? Decisions, decisions...

-Almost an hour later-

After a time watching one of the DVDS (with headphones of course) Aoba has a blank look

"she's pretty good but...¿She knows i don't feel atraction sexual or romantic for women?-Aoba wonder smirking, although he not deny Aika has...talent (actually so much of his own in-bed abilities are something Aoba "learned" watching Aika) and Aoba recognize her attractive, he only felt that type of things for men (in part due to his biológical condition,that made his body and hormones was male and femenine but leaning toward the female)

Thinking on how do with this gift Aoba was to Kururi's bedroom (although his sister not was in home now because she are working at the Starless theater)

And Aoba left some DVDs on her bed giggling-"thanks you Yumi-san but i think my sister will to enjoys this more than me"

The last remaining hours of Kureha Koizumi’s birthday was drawing near, and although Kureha wanted nothing more than to collapse on her bed, the ringing of the front doorbell was the intervention that wouldn’t allow Kureha to do so.

With a low groan, Kureha dragged herself to the door and peered through the peephole.

Well, whoever was just there was no longer around.

She opened the door fully and turned her head in all directions, only to find a palm-sized package plopped on the floor with an envelope taped to it.

Too tired to think it over, she picked them up and brought them inside.

As she dragged herself back to her room, she undid the ribbon from the package and peered inside the little box.

Inside was a knit… stuffed animal? In the shape of a black cat head and was no bigger than the size of her palm.

Kureha tore into the envelope, finding a letter addressed to her. But rather than being handwritten, it was entirely printed out.

“A Happiest of Birthdays and Holidays, My Dear.

Enjoy this little present that was handcrafted by every member of R.I.P Märchen. Miku Shirazuki dried out her own lavender petals for calming effects, Reiaki Suzubayashi designed the pouches herself. And I, Her Majesty, The Queen Card, sewed this together with my own two hands.

Use this hand warmer to help warm you up during these cold times. Please, do stop by our division sometime. There is quite a lot to offer over here. In the meantime, do be well, my subject.

“Cute…” Kureha mumbled as she gently squeezed the small cat plush in her hands, she could faintly smell the lavender inside it and a wave of clam washed over her, how nice of one of the Minato teams to gift her something this nice. Kazu hopped up on the bed and started to sniff the cat head plush, letting out a soft “Mrrow?” Kureha smiled and scratched behind his ears and picked him up to snuggle with him (and the plush) on her bed, falling asleep only minutes later.

Yano Ietsuna stared intently at what was in front of him.

For the tenth time in the last minute, Yano turned his neck in all directions, making sure there were no people around him.

Slowly, he peered into the present once more and read through the card that was sent to him. Rather than being handwritten, the contents of the letter was entirely printed.

“A Merry Christmas to you,

Peculiar that I was assigned to you as your Secret Santa, is it not? I suppose it is only a splendid time to reward you so.

You irritate me to pieces every time you stop by. And yet, I await for your next visit. I constructed your present with my own two hands, so do be sure to bring this with you the next time you stop by. I assure you, I shall reward you rather handsomely so long as you continue to keep me entertained, my dear Jester.

"There is no way in hell I can show or even tell the others about this!!"

Yano whisper-screeched to himself. He didn't think he would have to worry about this Secret Santa event (outside of his own fucked up attempt at gifting). But he should have known the person who set the event up would pair him with that woman of all potential D.R.B. contestants. Still, a leash and collar was the last thing he expected to get from her. And handmade too? What the hell?!

Quickly, Yano made sure nobody was around one more time (if one of them saw him with this he was going to lose it) before booking it up to his flat. Open and shut, he ran into his room and threw the box in a shout.

On cue, his phone began to ping. Scrambling to find the gift, he snatched it up from where it had landed, hurled the gift under his bed, and fumbled his cell phone out.

Asato - I got my gift.

Attached to the text was a photo of Asato, with some wrapping paper in his hair in front of a giant framed 3D nature diorama. Yano felt a little jealous that Asato's Secret Santa seemed much more tame than what he was currently wrestling. Before he could dwell on it further, Kensaku's own messages started to follow.

Uncle Ken - Wow! Uncle Ken - You got something in your hair kiddo haha Asato - u guys got ur gifts Asato - ? Asato - btw wen u coming Uncle Ken - Soon! Gotta get my Secret Santa first before I load the car with your presents Asato - k Asato - Yano?

At that question, Yano's face started to burn. In a rush, he quickly sent his messages in a flurry.

Chucking his phone across the room, he slapped his hands onto his face and curled into a ball. He needed some time to breathe. Recover from the embarrassing gift from Queen Card... So he let himself scream as his phone's notifications continued to ping somewhere in his empty apartment.

Thank... You? Ngl I screamed when I saw what the gift was. This is basically Yano's second collar like bruhhhhh 😂

“It’s not often you get to see someone coming for our prime minister’s throat. Nah, I’m kidding. I’ve gathered that’s why a good chunk of the competitors are participating in the Division Rap Battle. I don’t know the details and I don’t want to be the type to underestimate— especially considering my own disabilities— but Kuromiya-san’s only another science specialist who has it out for the Party of Words.”

Meari Miracle

“Ohhhh. So, okay, I can’t hear music— like I can’t hear the change in notes anymore, but I do like heavy metal. I haven’t really put much thought into searching up new artists since I lost my hearing, but apparently her band’s pretty big right now.” She chuckled and stacked Meari’s photograph on top of Nadya’s. “She reminds me of my teen self. I was really crass, obscene, and really just overly confident back then.”

Aika Yumi

“Oh, I see… so this is Yumi-san’s mother. You know, I can respect her. Though the beginning stages of her situation is quite unfortunate, she pushed herself through hardship to make things work. I’m glad that she at least found joy with what she’s doing, even if it caused a rift with her daughter. Family matters can be messy… and it’ll be a while for that rift to come to a close, but I hope matters can be solved. Just not in the DRB… I can’t lose this, no matter what.”

Oculus

Anika drummed her fingers on the desk. “This team together is a dangerous bunch… but no more than the other teams who are coming for Chuhoku. While I actually would like for these women to carry out whatever plot they have, this tournament is not the time to do it.” She clenched her fists and slammed it on the desk. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. “I need answers… and I need to protect the people I care about… I’ll have to take that win to get the answers I need.”

Queen Card

"Queen... Card?" Keiko takes another look at the photo of the masked woman. "...Oh yeah. I think I recognize her. She's not seen a lot here in Akihabara, but when she comes, she attracts a huge following. I know this may seem a bit hypocritical of me, but I personally don't see what's so special about magic, especially when it's not real. I mean, I draw magical boys and girls as a hobby, but that more's to do with 'fantasy'. Her 'magic' is just misdirection and smoke and mirrors. ...But I suppose she must be good at what she does to be so famous. If I go see her though, it's more out of curiosity than actual interest or fascination."

"'Suzubayashi...?'" Keiko repeats the last name as if remember something. "...Ah! I remember her. I think Criss mentioned that she did some work on one of her favorite sci-fi movies. I forget the name, but I did recall seeing her name at the end credits of it, though. I'm surprised we haven't work together before. But then again, I do manga work, and only as a hobby. What she does is a full-time thing. Still, I guess it's no surprise that she's so popular on social media. I'll have to remember her if I decide to make a live-action version of 'Red of the Ambitious'."

Miku Shirazuki

"...Miku Shirazuki?! She's joining the D.R.B.?! ...Oh my God. I can't believe it. Did you all know that I was a huge fan of her back when I was in high school? I'd heard of her before then, but I didn't start actually listening to her until my Freshman year! I'd heard of some of the other students talking about her, and, at first, I didn't see what the hype about her was. But when I actually listened to her, well... needless to say, I was hooked! I think I downloaded and listened to all her songs in one night!" Keiko smiles, remembering the memory. However, she she frowns. "However, when I heard that she was leaving the music world, I was so upset. I wanted to know why, but I knew she had her reasons. But still, the day I heard she had quit performing... that was possibly the... second saddest day of my life. ...What was my first? ...I'd rather not talk about it..."

R.I.P Märchen

"Seeing as this time is stationed in Minato, where... that woman is also stationed, I'm guessing that this was the team that Otome-sama had initially sent to represent Minato. ...At least that was the case until that woman's team interfered, messing everything up. Seeing as only one team can represent a division, I figure its only a matter of time until the both of them collide. ...I'll say this: that woman should hope this defeats them first. Because if not, they'll have to deal with us. And should it come to that, I will show absolutely no mercy."

“I have some packages for…“ the delivery man paused to read over his receipts. “Rashaad Young?”

Confused, as Rashaad had thought his birthday has already ended, took the smaller packages inside anyway while the delivery man wheeled in the largest box inside the bar.

Rashaad picked up the smallest package first, which was hardly as long as his own forearm. Carefully tearing away the twine that held the package together, he found a small card nestling atop the gifts inside.

Casting aside the card, Rashaad found four small glass vials, containing syrups in various colors and each labeled with black, delicate yet intricate penmanship. One vial was labeled “chamomile syrup,” another as “rose syrup,” “hibiscus syrup,” and “elderflower syrup.”

Rashaad picked up the card again and quickly read over it.

“To: Rashaad Young

Hey, Happy Birthday. As thanks for looking after my teammate and leader, I took a few days to whip up these syrups with my own flowers. Use them however you want with your drinks. Enjoy your birthday.

From,

Miku Shirazuki”

He moved to the second largest. Inside the box was an eagle statue made of stone and gold.

Removing the statue from its box, he found a card placed at the bottom. There was no card, but rather, a simple greeting.

“Happy Birthday, my dude! Enjoy all the presents and have a Happy Birthday! These presents probably didn’t arrive on time for your birthday, but hey! It’s your birthday week, right? Have a good one!

— Reiaki”

Then that left the final present, which was even taller than him.

Attached to the screen was a card, its contents all printed, rather than handwritten.

“Greetings,

I hear it is your birthday today. A wondrous Happy Birthday to you, my dear.

You’ve done well in providing your services for my staff and I. My stage presence alone should be enough of a ‘thank you.’ However, it is only right that I be even more generous and bestow something gracious for you. It is a jukebox, however, the sound system is far more advanced and I constructed it using modern technology. You’ll find an instruction manual on the back of this card. Do be careful and take care to enjoy your special week to the fullest, my subject.

Approximately two hours had passed since gifts from the Minato team had arrived. During that time, Rashaad had: organized the bottles Miku had sent him, found a good place to plant the eagle head from Reiaki on the roof of his bar, and had managed to, somehow or other, set up his brand new jukebox. Truthfully, he was a little skeptical to replace the old one, especially since it still worked. Truthfully, it was a gift from his old master and he didn't feel like just living it in his storage room to collect dust. So, with some help from Ace, he managed to lug it upstairs to his room, where Rashaad could enjoy it all for himself.

Taking a look around his bar, Rashaad could barely recognize it due to how much stuff had been given to him the past few days for his birthday. New silverware, new scented candles, new glasses, a new pool table, which, despite being only a day or so old, was already well-used, some new records, and now a new jukebox. It's moments like these that made Rashaad really happy he was a bar owner. How else could he meet such fascinating people?

"Besides that, I've heard of this woman and her supposed "suicide". Of course, that's what the news would like us to believe it. An explosion that destroyed an entire apartment complex? Unless this woman wanted to choose a dramatic way to end her life, I sincerely doubt that this was a "suicide". Not that it matters much, I guess, since it's obvious that she's alive and well. ...Well, alive at any rate."

"Meari Miracle, the lead vocal singer for the heavy metal band, 86. Believe it or not, I actually helped to produce and write some of the songs from their debut album, God Told Me to Skin You Alive. I know the album was highly acclaimed and even went platinum up to three times, but... well, just something about death metal leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I know everyone's got their own style of music and that you like what you like, but... well, I'll just say that Meari and her group were an alright group of people and leave it at that."

"Aika Yumi. I think she's been in my wife's nightclub more times than I can count. I know people give her a lot of grief for her profession, but I really don't see why. You do what you have to do, or what you want to do. As long as your work isn't negativity affecting anyone else, then what's the harm? But she's already made it known that she doesn't pay her critics any attention. Good on her."

"So, this is the third Minato team. Between us, R.I.P Märchen, and this team, it's going to be very difficult to determine who will be the overall winner. Out of this team, the leader, Nadya Kuromiya, may proof to be our largest obstacle. She seems far more serious than her teammates, so I know we'd better be careful. *sighs* Why did Chuohku have to include my family and I in this mess...?"

Hypnosis Mic - D.R.B.- Rule the Stage (Give Me the Mic)

Synopsis:

The day has come for the teams of Saitama Division and Shinagawa Division to face off but they hear of Oculus, Minato Division has invaded the D.R.B. with a vengeance. The leader of Oculus, Nadya Kuromiya has challenged Ritsuko Okada and CodeX to a battle and it is now fated that all three teams are to battle.

Suspicious of their sudden appearance, Kureha Koizumi and Sumire Shinomiya form an alliance and investigate around Minato Division, they eventually find Nadya’s lab and come across something terrifying. Believing that everyone will be in danger should the battle commence, they, along with Lola Takahashi and Miho Kobayashi work together to stop whatever Nadya has planned and save their respective team leaders.

Meanwhile, the sisters, Ritsuko and Sayaka are forced to confront each other and the past with Nadya’s sudden appearance. With Ritsuko’s betrayal and Sayaka’s guilt about know what Ritsuko had done but not doing anything to stop it. Ritsuko has no guilt for what she has done but Sayaka finds herself in a predicament, with the battle drawing closer, she has to choose between her once friend or her sister who she despises.

“Another possibly evil, but smart lady with a penchant for revenge? I’m heart’s going to be toast if every enemy team has leaders like this!”

“Ah, but Nadya? I have never ever met her! I do get hired by big government people to find their people of interest every so often, but never anything case sensitive like the scientists. I’d say it would be cool to do a job like that, just finding Nadya-chan and reporting on her, but with how anti-Chuuoku my team is, I don’t think I could bring myself to do anything like that today.”

Meari Miracle

“Meari Miracle… Oh, like the Meari-chan from 86? You know, it’s funny how I got to get to know this lady’s band. One of the band members got into a relationship with some big important man who had a ve~ry unhappy wife. So, I got hired to collect evidence on that piece of shit and his wife used it to ruin his life! Yeah, miss drummer got dragged in too, which is just what comes with that sort of situation… Normally, I’m careful about the damage control by communicating with the clients to not target the people involved (some people can get a bit murdery sometimes after all), but the woman was incredibly unreasonable about it. Still, I didn’t expect her to give it to the press. It blew up so much! I guess 86 is more popular than I gave them credit for!”

Aika Yumi

“Yumi-san, huh? Her case was really… Complicated. Don’t get me wrong! The adult industry is a valid career. It just gets to be tricky when it comes to relationships. The stigma that comes with it makes it so that most people involved keep it a secret from everyone, including their spouses. And as a result, I get dragged in, heheh!”

“Ah... But still, Yumi was really good at convincing me to back off. Sweet talking does come with her job… And as much as it sucked to tell my client that I couldn’t do the job, it was better to just tell them to talk with their partner. Sometimes, communication is key. Hopefully, that client and their partner were able to learn that in the end. It would be nice to know that they had their happily ever after.”

“That goodbye kiss was a bit much though… She didn’t need to go that far.”

Okay, this is a complicated answer.

Conceptually, no. I make characters very slowly but when I do get that inspiration, I usually wait to actually write them until I've already planned out a ridiculous amount of their history and psychology so that very, very little ever ends up changing once I've actually settled on making them. I guess it might be because I tend to think and write in very abstract/symbolic ways and branch out from there instead of being inspired by wanting to write a specific type of character...?

...But also Haruto is the only one who was specifically designed as a Hypmic OC. I spent a lot of time in the Dangan Ronpa RP community. You can tell I came in during the pre-translation era because I don't write it as Danganronpa and I have to stop and think for a few seconds before using "Ultimate [x]" instead of "SHSL [x]." That said, very little ended up changing other than I ended up going with the more wild backstory options for Damien that I was afraid would be seen as too bizarre for GMs. Their childhoods are basically the same and their character direction isn't...that far off what would have happened.

(I mean, Shirou went off the rails in his game, sort of, his character development was horizontal in the sense he got better in some respects because he no longer thinks he's damned and he now has a friend, the friend is a robot, it makes sense in comparison and this game happened before DRV3 was a thing so having a robot was way more bizarre, but also he killed someone in an arson-murder and he thinks it's fine because he killed the game's Monobear equivalent and they weren't human, they just looked like one despite the fact they were fully sapient and a former HPA student, also the robot helped, it was a huge botch job that destroyed part of the map and it wasn't even supposed to be an arson-murder, it's just he can't read Japanese well and didn't know he was using an anesthetic that was highly flammable, also once he gets home he joins a gang that's trying to start an insurrection against the government and he stole a bunch of magical artifacts because the game was taking place in an alternate universe where magic and yokai and things are real which is why he had to exorcise the mascot's evil dad who was trying to possess him due in part to how pure his soul was due in part to his devout faith, again this makes sense in context, and so now he's convinced that God wanted him to go through a trials-of-Job style experience and that God wants him to be a virtuous gentleman criminal trying to make a better future, and that's why in the game setting there's now a bunch of magic using anarchist furries and the company that was the first to successfully make a sapient robot for the purposes of doing menial labor has to deal with the fact their prototype they sent off to learn about humanity has learned a lot and decided to become a criminal and also hero-worships said anarchist furries.

This is the short version, that game was an adventure in the best possible way and I think DRRP and mutual killing game RP is best when you just let everyone go off their shit. The point is I did not think he would actually kill someone and especially not do it in such a premeditated manner.)

ANYWAY. The general idea is their childhoods are nearly identical to their DRRP iterations and the way they progress as adults is...roughly what I would have expected them to do if left to their own devices. I think the one thing I changed from one of Shirou's earliest iterations is that I alived his dad (in his original backstory he died in part from overworking himself) because honestly Shirou had enough bad things happen to him and I think his positive relationship with his family is fun.

With Haruto....yeah, he's stayed almost exactly the same from what I was originally expecting. Biggest change is to his character design. I was going to give him more street style fashion and a face mask with like...some kind of monstery/animal face on it, but I remembered that mori boy fashion exists and I love mori boy, plus I think it suits him, so I went with that.

Basically once I have an idea for a character, which happens maybe once every few months, I tend to stick with my concepts, so hopefully that wasn't a boring answer. :,>

Because that means you’re always on their mind, right? I… I really don’t know what else to really say about this woman. In all honesty, she worries me. I don’t wish to meet with her… Ever. That is all I have to say.”

Meari Miracle

“Ah, that wild girl with the crazy makeup! Apparently she wasn’t from the area and instead of going to a normal convenience store, she decided to go to what’s basically the headquarters for the medication she wanted. Though, I guess there are people who like to come in and ask questions about the company, but I don’t think she was in for those reasons. If anything, she acted like she wanted to leave as quickly as possible! Which was a shame. I like how blunt she was about things. Reminds me of Jakurai, only when he’s been drinking of course.”

Aika Yumi

“The company’s favorite celebrity Aika Yumi is in this team? Well, I say favorite, but it’s obvious she is only popular with a very specific group of people. If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t have known about her job at all. I try to not bring it up whenever I throw out my jokes. I’d hate to make her upset. The thought of making that beautiful smile into a scowl would hurt! Plus, I’m sure all her fans would hunt me down for doing anything to her.”

“But now that I think back to Akihabara’s team… I think I can see the reason why I thought Keiko looked familiar now that I see Aika’s face here. They must be related somehow… They looks like mother and daughter, right?”

“The name and team leader makes me a little worried, but I’d like give this team a chance. I mean, Miracle-san and Aika-san are nice enough, so many my paranoia against Chuuoku is probably just preventing me from looking at Kuromiya-san in a positive light. We should be careful if we face against them though. They’ve been in a handful of battles when we just barely started! It would be foolish of us to run headfirst into a fight with them.”

“Huh… I was wondering what the woman’s been up to now… you know, I didn’t really buy it when it was announced that she’d died.”

She turned the photograph over, revealing a clustered mess of notes in black ink and grabbed a red pen from a pocket on her garters. She did a once-over of her notes and began circling certain words. ‘Shinagawa,’ ‘Saitama,’ and ‘Chuhoku’. She quickly drew lines from each circled cities to the other.

“If I could have it my way, I’d use her skillset to help hunt down that fucking man… but I’m not stupid enough to attempt to hire her. I’ll be fine on my own and with my team.”

Meari Miracle

“I do give her music a listen from time to time, but outside of that, this brat and her whole band is just one massive headache. So far since her release from juvie, she’s been pretty tame despite that big mouth of hers. Unfortunately her band mates aren’t so obedient. Missing court dates with my business partner or my bail money and running off to the ends of the earth. You don’t mess with me and my money. Hah… this woman’s chill, but she doesn’t know when to can it. Hey, do yourself a favor and ignore the people who tell you to be yourself. In your case, it’s a terrible idea.”

Aika Yumi

“Ah, Aika Yumi, huh? I do like her work a lot, she does some great stuff. I’ve hit some Minato clubs in the middle of a few hunts and I’ve seen Yumi in passing a few times. She’s never come up to me or I’m preoccupied with… others. Who knows, if I run into her, I should greet her. She seems like a fun time. Anyway, fun aside, I’m not going to meddle in the messy situation she’s in with Keiko Yumi, it’s not any of my business. I mean, unless the job calls for it, but I doubt that’ll ever be the case.”

Oculus

“All together, they’re far from being a trustworthy team. But… I can get behind the whole ‘reveal Chuhoku’s scheme to the world’ idea. Maybe if things were just a little different…” Shian sighed and pushed the photos off her desk. “Doesn’t matter. It is what it is. Pixel Syndicate has to take that win, whatever it takes. It’s for the best.”
