izuku drops by your office every so often to take you to dinner right after work or to drop off an after lunch snack to get you through the 3pm slump, and today is one of those instances. it’s right about 5pm and flashing his winning and extremely recognizable smile to your coworkers, it’s easy to be let upstairs, where he navigates to your office and announces himself with a knock.

today, he’s puzzled not to immediately hear your familiar, work-friendly “come in!” knocking again to no avail after a short pause, he frowns. a quick jiggle of the handle suggests your door’s unlocked, and he allows himself in, with a tentative “baby?”

you’re asleep.

you’re deeply so actually, curled up behind your work desk in a swivel chair, and wrapped up in a throw blanket with the embroidered ‘DEKU’ letters he admittedly finds far too loud design-wise, but warms his heart when draped over your body. he doesn’t really like the bend in your neck but as he draws closer, he smiles because despite being exhausted you do look somewhat peaceful. leaning in close, he watches the soft rhythmic expansion of your chest, and falls in love again with your closed eyes and still face. then your mouth wrinkles suddenly, and he makes an attempt to speak to you.

“baby love,” he whispers, not loud enough to wake you up but enough to alert you someone else is in the room if you weren’t already asleep. “i’m here.”

your eyes twitch but you don’t awaken. he grins and closes the door, then pulls you into his arms, adjusting you in his embrace so that you have a softer place to rest until it’s time for you to go home together.

he’ll tease you for dozing off on the job later but for now, you are far too cute.
