Comstar ROM
Crockett, Flashman, Guillotine, Lancelot
I know Comstar deploys mechs in formations of 6 but feckem here's a Lance
I also know their parade paint is simple white, but the Gamma scheme on the Black Knight at UCC just looked so sweet:

The Open Grave
When the sarcophagus of this Word Bearer dreadnought was smashed open by a shell in a late heresy-era skirmish, its occupant welcomed death, but it did not come to him. Instead he fell into the hands of an ambitious magos of the Mechanicum - Aloisius Nephron. He didn't want to repair. He wanted to see how far he could go. How long would it be possible to keep the machine running while the legionary inside of it lay open and vulnerable. Would a single lasgun shot take it out, or would it still run when the brain was allready dead, thus creating a true machine spirit?
Built form a cheap Chinese toy robot that closely resembles a WH 40k dreadnought. This project is getting out of hand. I just wanted to build a heretek magos out of a Cawl model, but somewhere along the way I decided that a good heretek needs some tech-abominations to accompany him. This is the fourth one so far. Aloisius Nephron's trademark is, that his creations are really just experiments or things made out of spite.

BREACH AND CLEAR!
At the beginning of the year I bought a blind box from Northstar Military Figures, it was 6 bottles of paint, 6 random metal minis and a random sprue of plastic minis for like ₤25. Really neat thing they did. And my random sprue was a set of Oathmark Human infantry. I don't play Oathmark but the minis are uniformly brilliant, and I was struck with an idea, and here he is! Oathmark body and shield and Stargrave head and arms, Heavy Breacher type guy with a shotgun and an energy shield.
The energy shield didn't come out quite how I wanted but it's still passable, and I'm quite proud of the checkering. His brigandine was already molded into squares of course, but the helmet was all me and all freehand. I'm quite proud of him. Though I'm not totally sure how to field him in Stargrave. Sometimes you just have to build and paint a really cool little man, regardless of what you're going to use him in.

RGB Metallic Dragons
Red: Hunchback IIC
Green: Warhammer IIC
Blue: Supernova (King Crab IIC, in spirit.)
Scales, because I didn't hate myself enough after the Jaguar spots.
Teeth and eyes were fun after the Black Marauder.
And a closer look at the bases (Lighting was really hard for some reason):
Single solitary WIP shot. Whoops. Forgot to take more.
-Black Primer
-Turbo Dork color shift paints (Wavelength, Electrum, GroundIsLava)
5 coats of the stuff! Pain in the ass, but looks nice. Works best applied thin, it seems to like being brushed with water afterwards, improves the glitter. Gloss varnish helps too.
-Shadowing undersides with R/G/B inks respectively
-Gunmetal metallic paint on interior bits
-watered down White paint in heatsink grilles
-Orange/Red ink ontop for overheating effect
-Tried some OSL around the grilles with partly dry brush
-Scale colors:
Platemail Silver + blue ink overtop
Glitter Green
Rough Iron + red ink ontop
-White drybrush scratchy weathering
-Lasers/Cockpits, white first, then ink
-Teeth and eyes!
Basing:
Green was pretty straightforward flock+twig, I went around the edge with green ink and matte varnish.
Blue was snow flock + Soft Tone wash for the sand, then water medium + a tiny bit of blue paint. Brushed lightly with teal ink around the edges for deeper seawater. Then hit the surface carefully with white for foamy water crests.
Red base:
-Painted white first.
-Glued gravel flock.
-Black paint + Water medium, formed some jagged shapes ontop, leaving cracks of white visible beneath.
-Orange ink in the cracks, watered down so it would cling to the gravel sides more and leave the bottoms of the cracks light.
-Touched up some black peaks with Night Scales metallic
-Matte varnish on magma, gloss varnish on rock
Phew!

Highlanders of the Black Watch, 42nd Regiment of Foot, as they would have appeared in 1808 during the battle of Corunna. Not only did these troops drag the mortally wounded Sir John Moore to cover after being hit by a french cannon ball, but they played a major part of the British defense.
This regiment would continue to serve the British empire in the Peninsular War at the battles of Bussaco in 1810, Fuentes de onoro in 1811, Siege of Cuidad Rodrigo, Badajoz, Salamanca and the Siege of Burgos in 1812, and the battle of Vittoria in 1813.
Following the French retreat into France in July of 1813, the 42nd pursued after them. The Black Watch would then serve in a series of battles until Napoleon’s exile to Elbe. When Napoleon returned in 1815, the Black Watch fought at Quatras Bras and Waterloo, before the wars’ end.
Models are Victrix miniatures, with Vallejo paints.
