This Fantasyland theater has quite a bit of history behind it! Originally opening as The Mickey Mouse Revue, it became Magic Journeys in 1987, then Legend of the Lion King in 1994, and finally Mickey's PhilharMagic in 2003! The new tagline even references the original attraction!

Orchestrated Hell
It's the attraction that makes Amanda a bit jealous. Bobby selfishly rates it higher than any other. Find out why on this week's #CODP.

Ella x S/O Reader Going to Disney World
Ella was ELATED that you wanted her to go to Disney World with you. While she’s never been to the parks, she’s always dreamed of going and eventually she wound up learning about the parks inside and out. She also found out about Disneybounding and packed a Snow White-inspired outfit for every day that you were there.
Florida’s hot no matter when you travel, but you ultimately chose to go in the springtime… right after spring break. There were less crowds and Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival is still going on. She really wanted to see all the different topiaries and other countries’ gardens.
Ella preferred the show-based attractions over the thrill rides; her favorite attractions were Mickey’s Philharmagic at Magic Kingdom and the Frozen sing-along at Hollywood Studios.
She also really enjoyed Animal Kingdom… she sang A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes and all the goats and pigs in the Affection Section were drawn to her. You had to gently persuade Ella not to sing on the safari ride otherwise the giraffes would block the vehicle.
The final day of your trip was quieter after all that time in the parks… maybe you woke up late and had some pool time, maybe you got breakfast at one of the resorts and then went to Disney Springs, maybe you capped off the day with dinner and watching one of those “movies under the stars” films on the lawn of the hotel. Ella found herself cherishing that quiet time with you just as much as she enjoyed the parks.
The day after you both returned home, Ella started planning the next trip. So Y/N, do you want to go around October for Halloween or do you want to go after November for the holidays?

Did I ever tell y'all that Magic of Pegasus actually helped me overcome my extreme fear of 3D as a kid? My first exposure to 3D was Mickey's Philharmagic at Disney World when I was like 5 and I was extremely overwhelmed and had a meltdown. I was so scared of 3D that I refused an invitation to go to my cousin's birthday party where they watched that Hannah Montana 3D concert (biggest mistake of my life). Then one day at like Stein Mart or something I came across the Pegasus DVD sitting on a shelf by itself. I was a little kid who didn't keep up with new movie releases so I was just so excited to see a Barbie movie I hadn't known about before, so I picked it up and asked my parents to buy it. And my theory is that they noticed that the cover advertised the 3D gimmick because they didn't normally just buy stuff for no reason. So we got home and I realized it had optional 3D scenes and naturally I started freaking out. But I think the fact it wasn't entirely 3D helped as some sort of exposure therapy. Now I love 3D when it's implemented well (actually I returned to Mickey's Philharmagic and now think it's a really nice show).

Oh yeah if you want my personal disney facts since I got to go to the parks for free for 7 months: my favorite ride at MK is a tie between big thunder and space mountain (though I genuinely love the carousel of progress and the tiki room), my favorite ride at Epcot is a tie between living with the land and spaceship earth, my favorite ride at studios is either star tours or the tower of terror, and my favorite rides at dak are expedition Everest and Dinosaur, which is my favorite ride across all the parks. I do love flight of passage but often the long wait discouraged me from riding it.
I used to go to the park just to ride Dinosaur. One time I rode it 10 times in one day. I’ve ridden it drunk. I have the ride memorized. Dr Seeker is my blorbo.
If you ever are at the parks I would encourage checking out not just the rides but the other offerings like shows. MuppetVision 3D is a hilarious show which was the last appearance of Jim Henson as Kermit, so it’s special. Animal kingdom has a number of walking trails past animal exhibits, so if the wait for the safari is too long you can still see most of the animals from the trails as well as some trails that show animals you can’t see from the safari. I see Reflections of China every single time I’m in the world showcase of Epcot because it’s just charming, and China is beautiful. If animatronic shows in MK aren’t your thing, then Mickey’s Philharmagic is a great chance to sit down in air conditioning for 15 minutes and watch a cute show.
I worked at pirates so I’m legally required to enjoy it but tbh I like it more for the animatronics than for the “plot” and also I know DLR’s pirates is better but I’ve never been on it so I can claim ignorance. I also like knowing which animatronics will break and my nicknames for all of them like Beesting Jack. Shoutout to the one time that goat animatronic fell off a bridge and was hanging by its feet.

Mickey's PhilharMagic Review | Disney World
Tumblr media
Mickey's PhilharMagic is a beloved 3D concert experience located in the Fantasyland area of Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort. This whimsical attraction takes guests on a magical journey alongside Donald Duck as he explores beloved Disney animated films while trying to retrieve Mickey's sorcerer hat. With stunning visuals, immersive special effects, and a delightful musical score, Mickey's PhilharMagic is a must-see for guests of all ages.
Tumblr media
Table of Contents - General Ride Information - Location - Height Requirements - Ride Duration - Genie+ and Lightning Lane - Single Rider - Rider Switch - DAS - Early Entry - Best Times to Ride - Average Wait Times - History and Design - Architecture and Theme - Development - Ride Experience - Queue - Pre-Show - Main Show - Music - 3D and Special Effects - Holiday Overlay and Pet Cemetery - Tips for Riders - Comparison with Other Disney Parks' PhilharMagic Attractions - Disneyland Resort - Tokyo Disneyland - Hong Kong Disneyland - Disneyland Paris - Conclusion
Tumblr media
General Ride Information Location Fantasyland, Magic Kingdom Genie+ and Lightning Lane Mickey's PhilharMagic is included in the paid Genie+ service at Walt Disney World, allowing guests to reserve a Lightning Lane entry time to skip the standby queue. The ability to book a Lightning Lane for this attraction through Genie+ is subject to availability and pricing that can vary by date. On busier days, Genie+ reservations for PhilharMagic may run out earlier in the day. Individual Lightning Lane selections can also be purchased separately for PhilharMagic if Genie+ is unavailable, or you prefer not to purchase that service. Single Rider Mickey's PhilharMagic does not offer a Single Rider line, as the theater-style seating does not make this an efficient option. Rider Switch The Rider Switch service is available at PhilharMagic, allowing one parent/guardian to wait with non-riders (e.g. children) while the rest of the party experiences the attraction. The waiting parent can then board through the Lightning Lane entrance without waiting in the regular queue again. DAS (Disability Access Service) Guests with disabilities can utilize the DAS Advance planning option to reserve a return time for PhilharMagic and bypass the standby line upon their return through an alternative entrance. Best Times to Ride The best times to experience Mickey's PhilharMagic with shorter wait times are: - Early morning shortly after park opening - During parades and fireworks shows when crowds are drawn away - Late evening closer to park closing Average Wait Times On most days, the average standby wait time for PhilharMagic is 10–30 minutes. However, wait times can spike higher (45+ minutes) during peak periods like holidays and summer.
Tumblr media
History and Design Mickey's PhilharMagic opened on October 8, 2003, replacing the beloved Mickey Mouse Revue attraction. The show building features a Renaissance-inspired exterior, complete with musical motifs and royal blue and gold accents. Inside, guests are transported to a grand concert hall where Mickey is set to conduct a magical orchestra. The attraction was developed as a collaboration between Walt Disney Imagineering and Walt Disney Feature Animation, marking the first time the classic Disney characters were fully modeled and animated using computer animation. Legendary animators, including Glen Keane (Ariel) and Nik Ranieri (Lumiere), returned to bring their characters to life in this groundbreaking 3D experience.
Tumblr media
Ride Experience Upon entering the queue, guests are immersed in the musical theme of the attraction, with hidden Mickeys scattered throughout the decor. The pre-show area sets the stage for the main event, as Mickey prepares to conduct the orchestra and Donald is tasked with getting the instruments ready. As the main show begins, Donald dons Mickey's sorcerer hat and is whisked away on a magical journey through classic Disney animated films, including: - Beauty and the Beast - The Lion King - The Little Mermaid - Aladdin - Peter Pan The 150-foot wide screen, one of the largest ever created, combined with 3D effects, scents, and water effects, creates an unforgettable experience for guests. The musical score features iconic songs from the featured films, such as "Be Our Guest," "I Just Can't Wait to Be King," and "A Whole New World."
Tumblr media
Tips for Riders - The theater is quite large, so arrive early for the best seats. - The 3D effects are more impressive from the center of the theater. - Don't forget to grab your 3D glasses before entering the main show area. - Keep an eye out for hidden Mickeys throughout the queue and pre-show area. - Keen-eyed guests can spot a hidden pet cemetery in the queue, paying homage to the Haunted Mansion attraction.
Tumblr media
Comparison with Other Disney Parks' PhilharMagic Attractions Mickey's PhilharMagic has been replicated at several other Disney parks worldwide, each with slight variations: - Disneyland Resort (Disney California Adventure): Opened in 2019, this version is nearly identical to the Magic Kingdom attraction, with an updated scene featuring Pixar's Coco added in 2021. - Tokyo Disneyland: Opened in 2011, replacing the Mickey Mouse Revue attraction. - Hong Kong Disneyland: Opened in 2005 in the Fantasyland Concert Hall. - Disneyland Paris: Opened in 2018 in the Discoveryland Theatre, with a unique post-show featuring Minnie Mouse.
Tumblr media
Conclusion Mickey's PhilharMagic is a timeless attraction that showcases the magic of Disney animation and music. With its stunning visuals, immersive effects, and heartwarming story, it's no wonder this 3D concert experience continues to delight guests at Disney parks around the world. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a seasoned Disney fan, Mickey's PhilharMagic is a must-see attraction that will leave you smiling and humming along to its unforgettable tunes. By Myself…♡ Okamura Minami (23.12.10)
Everyone、good evening〜♪
I'm Okamura Minami💓
For all of your likes・comments
Thank you very much 💓💓💓
They make me super happy☺️💓
Today I'll talk about
My solo Disney trip〜🤭💓
It was actually quite a while ago
But it was my first time going by myself💓💓💓
I was suddenly desperate to go
But based on my schedule this is the only time I can go!
So、、、
I decided to go the next day!!
I was pretty nervous
And I kept telling the members
I'm going all by myself tomorrow 😂
I had an afternoon entry ticket
So I entered at around midday〜
I didn't actually plan to ride many attractions
And instead just walk around、and eat delicious food…
But、there was lots of time when I wasn't eating
So I ended up riding lots of attractions💓
Spooky “Boo!” Parade
Country Bears Theatre
Mickey's Philharmagic
Pooh's Hunny Hunt
Minnie's Style Studio
Nightfall Glow
Haunted Mansion(Holiday)
It's a Small World
Beauty and the Beast “Enchanted Tale”
That's a lot rightー!!!
I was conscious of the long wait times for the attractions
So I brought my tablet with me
And watched movies 👀笑lol
Of course I watched Disney works
Like the Cinderella and Belle shorts 💓
By doing so
The time just flew by!
I planned to take my time and have a leisurely dinner
But I didn't have time for that anymore
So I ate a churro
And then I kept nibbling
On my Beauty and the Beast popcorn🍿💓💓
It was such a satisfying dayー💓
I think I'll get obsessed with solo Disney trips😚
Actually my goal now that I'm 18 is
To get more used to doing things alone
So I feel like I'm achieving that which is amazing✌️💓
This time I didn't win any of the show lotteries
And ended up being super active
So next time I want to get my revenge
And have a chilled solo Disney trip💓
(T/N News and information has not been translated)

So the Disney portion of the trip was more of a mixed bag
Magic Kingdom:
This was easily the worst day
Haunted Mansion—forever a classic
Philharmagic—showing its age but cute
Buzz Lightyear (broke down mid ride 😭)
Tron (left because of exhaustion and swollen legs 😞)
Hollywood Studios:
Rise of the Resistance—cool but not worth an absurd wait time
MuppetVision—still makes me laugh
Sci Fi Dine In—not a ride but such a neat dining experience
Star Tours—still fun, if dated
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway—cute, not worth absurd wait times
Tower of Terror—my favorite all-time favorite attraction; don’t care about the wait time. Love the atmosphere, love the ride, just nothing but love all around
Rock-n-Rollercoaster—still a wonderful thrill ride
Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run—fun and definitely re-rideable for new experiences, but not worth the absurd wait times
Fantasmic—easily one of Disney’s best nighttime shows
Epcot:
Soarin’—neat concept, not exactly a thrilling experience
Journey into Imagination—Figment rules, “One Little Spark” is catchy as hell, but the ride is pretty lame and not well kept up; bring back the Dreamfinder!
Disney/Pixar 3D Shorts—cute, gets you out of the sun for a few
Guardians of the Galaxy—lot of fun, but that line looks miserable (paid for a lightning lane, which I despise but there was no way I was gonna wait til park close to get on—Disney NEEDS to fix this stupid Genie+/Lightning Lane/Virtual Queue nonsense)
World Showcase—didn’t get to stay too long in any of the countries, but they all look fantastic
The Seas—strictly for kids

hello friend! it’s your fic exchange writer again and i’m back with a few more questions
do you prefer disney world or disney land?
if you’ve gone to the park you prefer, what’s your favourite ride, activity, character to meet, snack, etc. just need anything you see as a must do at that park
ooohhhhhh my dear you just opened a vault you may not recover from. i'm putting this below the cut because i'm just gonna like completely go off. apologies in advance
so i've been to walt disney world in florida i think... 20 times? almost? something like that? i did go to disneyland once when i was 19 and i really liked it but i definitely know less about that.
my favorite park within walt disney world is definitely epcot! my girl my shining star. attractions: soarin' is one of my favorites, i also like test track and slower rides like spaceship earth and living with the land. but honestly the rides are less important to me than the general vibe of the place! i love strolling through all the countries, seeing all the shops, and just sitting beneath a shady tree and people watching. characters: i love to meet my favorite princess aurora over in france!! she's my number one girl. sometimes prince phillip meets with her and i CRY. snow white meets sometimes too and i love her! food: epcot is SOO good for food - i love the rice cream and pastries from kringla bakeri og cafe over in norway, the ice cream and sweets in france, basically everything in japan, like... it's so good fr. i would eat anywhere in epcot and love it. oh and canada has poutine so like?? iconic.
all the other parks are pretty equal in my mind so i will list them all below.
for magic kingdom attractions, haunted mansion is my number one forever i looooove me some spooky fun (even if i always get jump-scared by the popup ghosts in the graveyard). carousel of progress is pretty close behind - it's such a vibe, i love it sm, you should've seen me scream when i found out john and sarah were meet and greet characters at disneyland's throwback night. i also love pirates of the caribbean, the tomorrowland transit authority peoplemover, seven dwarfs mine train, and mickey's philharmagic! characters: allll the princesses!! tiana and rapunzel are my second and third favorites (after aurora) but i also love to meet cinderella and ariel, and all of their princes! tinker bell and peter pan are also really fun even if i don't love the movie oops... food i am a dole whip hater oops but i love a citrus swirl! and a lefou's brew is so good. the grey stuff is really delicious (lmfao). you also can't go wrong with the classics like popcorn and mickey ice cream bars - but no turkey legs ew ew. i like the plaza restaurant on main street and liberty tree tavern for sit down places but sometimes i'd rather just leave and go to the hotels nearby. oh and i loooove the parade festival of fantasy!! i sing the soundtrack constantly. the fireworks are sweet too!
hollywood studios attractions, i love rise of the resistance so so so much it's ridiculous. smuggler's run is fun as well! i miss the great movie ride but i love mickey and minnie's runaway railway too. twilight zone traumatized me the one time i went on it but the theming is so good i might pluck up the courage to go again someday... i also love toy story mania and muppet vision 3d (because everything is better with muppets!) but my number one thing is probably fantasmic. it's the nighttime show there and i cry EVERY TIME I WATCH IT when mickey appears at the top of the mountain... i lose it. i don't usually meet a lot of characters there, but ariel from the live action little mermaid is meeting there now and i'd love to see her! food is kinda iffy at HS but i do love the lunchbox tarts at woody's lunch box and it's a legal requirement that you have to have popcorn and strawberry lemonade at fantasmic.
animal kingdom attractions, i used to love flight of passage until they said i wasn't allowed to go on bc my calves wouldn't fit (which happens to a lot of people but yes i did cry about it). so i like kilimanjaro safaris, kali river rapids, dinosaur, and just like hanging out and looking at all the different animal exhibits! oh and finding nemo the musical AND festival of the lion king slap so much harder than they need to. again i don't really meet characters there. food, you gotta go for tusker house for breakfast and satuli canteen for lunch or dinner. they both are so damn good. plus you get pog juice (passionfruit, orange, guava) at breakfast which, inject that shit directly into my veins thank u.
outside of the parks, i really love all of the different hotels on property! the yacht & beach club is my first home, but the riviera has grown on me so so much, it's gorgeous (and my laptop background). i've always wanted to check out the polynesian too! the grand floridian and port orleans are also so so pretty. disney springs is fun too for an afternoon or evening, i'm not big into shopping but i like to browse around (and look for dolls and plush whoops).
generally i'm not a big roller coaster or scary rides person, i much prefer slower paced rides or ones like soarin' or test track where it's thrilling but doesn't make me scream super loud (ok, test track does, but besides the point). i’m more than happy to hold the backpacks and stuff and find a shady spot to drink a Diet Coke while other people go on! i also love seeing characters and shows, and taking in all the little details of the parks. i know sooo much trivia it's kind of ridiculous. i usually have a plan of what park we're going to, where we're sitting down to eat, and what rides are our number one priorities, but other than that i'm fine just going where the vibe takes me. i usually wear capris and a themed shirt to the parks, plus a backpack and my silver minnie ears with an aqua bow <3 but I’d love to dress up someday, in a way that wouldn’t make me sweat even more rip
i really really love disney if you couldn't tell, i usually have the ambient soundtracks playing or old parade soundtracks, my phone case is disney parks, I’ve seen every Disney and Pixar movie 3 times at least… do I always support them as a company? fuck no! but their movies and music and theme parks comfort me, and everyone in the parks is so nice! I end up complimenting a ton of people or helping them find their way to the star wars rides (my dad always has to tell me I don’t work there!!). it’s really special and I can’t wait to someday share it with a special person <3333
apologies for this complete essay!!! I hope at least some of this could be useful to you or at least interesting. if you have any more questions please let me know!! thank u so so much :3

The World’s Most Magical Celebration 。 (在 Walt Disney Magic Kingdom Orlando) https://www.instagram.com/p/CpXsxjQLSWu/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
