One picture, two different shading styles!

Remember Lythis? Since her last art was from 2019, it was high time for a redesign in my new-and-improved style. I added a LOT of details, especially in her top and staff.

This is her ceremonial outfit, for adventuring, Lythis wears something less ornate (but is still barefoot most of the time).

Mini lore dump:

Lythis was created because of a meme going around at the time, calling Thrall "Orc Jesus". This got me onto the whole concept of Azeroth's Gods having children. I know about Cenarius, but other than that...

Since I'm obsessed with Night Elves, Daughter of Elune it was. So...

Lythis is believed to be a "blessed soul", getting reborn again and again after she dies. In ancient times, this gave her a special role in the Temple. Nowadays, she's "just" a Priestess. The High Priestesses of the past thought it a bad idea to give power to someone whose only qualification is "being born with a moon birthmark" (and other signs, like picking out things a past incarnation owned). Lythis retains some memories of her past lives, this being more intense when she is a child. As she grows, those memories slowly fade into the background, although she can recall them if she needs to. Knowing she'll get reborn makes her reckless at times, and more likely to sacrifice her own life for friends. Lyhtis' current group of companions do their best to dissuade her from this, since they want the Lythis they know to stick around.

On average, past incarnations of Lythis died young. Partly due to the recklessness mentioned, partly due to her being a target at times. Some people do believe her to have a special connection to Elune, and that she is more likely to answer Lythis' prayers. She's traditionally associated with the smaller moon of Azeroth, the Blue Child.

Presenting art I owed zeugsii_art on Insta for a long time, from my last DTIYS contest. I ran into a major art block with the first version of this one. The version you see here is my second attempt, which luckily worked out.

The character it not mine, the art is. This is Luna, a half vampire fire sorceress. I was given her basic design, a few notes, and a bit of backstory. I designed the outfit, the background, and changed her hair from all red to a reverse fire ombre. Luckily, Luna's creator loved it <3

'm back! Missed me? I finally got a new post for you all 🧡 I watched "The magical revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady" recently. It's such a sweet anime! I'm currently looking to get the light novels. Has anyone else watched the show? Anyway, I thought Euphie and Anis would fit the Barbie Meme perfectly. It's probably Anis' fault they ended up in this situation. This was supposed to be a quick, lighthearted project to cheer myself up. It took far longer than I intended. The style I was going for was marker cellshade. I didn't do cell shading in a year. I enjoyed drawing this. Poor Euphie seems so uncomfortable. I started out with anime fanart, and occasionally I return. If you read all the description, drop a heart in the comment. And thank you for reading my ramblings.

I can finally share this one! Delaney on Ice here was done for a collaboration over on my Instagram. I finished her in the first week of January, but had to wait for the collab to go up.

I struggled with the pose a bit, and I love the colors. Laney is usually pretty autumn-themed, so she offers a nice contrast here. And no, her butt isn't super big, the skirt is just flaring out <3

Gabriel, one of the women that raised my little Blue, writing a letter to her long-lost friend/ partner/ co-parent Lily. The picture was inspired by the Indigo Girls' song "Ghost". This is my first time drawing Gabriel, and my first time drawing something so soft, bordering on Shoujo-style. What do you think? Like it or not?

I've been sliiightly obsessed with Rurethil here for quite a while. Finally got around to drawing her. And yes, this is supposed to be the terrace in Valdrakken. I wasn't originally going to do a background, but the pictue looked empty without one.

The second "voice" is her on again off again boyfriend, who convinced Rurethil to put on the mistletoe tiara.

I missed the DTIYS deadline by about a week So, here is some fanart of @winterwolfart.official 's character, the beautiful Raria.

The last slide is a joke edit, with Raria winning an achievement for having explored our world. Luckily, Winter Wolf enjoyed my brand of nerdy humor and likes the picture :)From what I gathered, Raria is stuck in our world in Winter Wolf's Canon. So, to connect my first idea of drawing her on Azeroth (since she's obviously a Night Elf) with that, I gave her souvenirs from our world. In case the writing is unreadable: the book next to Raria says "Dimension Hopping," the framed certificate next to her is first place in a cosplay contest, and the tablet displays Winter Wolf's Instagram (which is a screenshot).

A DTIYS entry I made for sharli_vivienne's contest over on Instagram. It's her two OCs, Morris to the left and Princess Sylvester to the right.

I went for a kind of cyberpunk/ 80s aesthetic with the background, since the characters put me in mind of that style. I didn't change the outfits this time, this is their original design.

I learned a lot about perspective when drawing this. Also, it's been a while since I drew two characters together. I gave in to the urge of putting in all the detail I wanted, which led to this pic taking me about 21 hours to finish.

Long time no see! I'm back with a DTIYS pic I did for nadia_mnemoriesworkshop's challenge over on Instagram. This was so much fun to draw, and I totally indulged in my enjoyment of detail.

I wanted to show off the wings and not completely cover them with hair or ribbons, so the placement of everything attatched to this fairy took me quite a while. There's a LOT going on with the original character design. I think I did okay, even though it took forever because I got ambitious.

I kind-of-recently got into Nanatsu no Taizai. I'm starting Season 3 now, but this idea came to me when I was watching Season one about two months ago. Finally got around to do it!

The story I imagined behind this is that King refuses to wake up because he's dreaming of Diane, and Meliodas just got sick of waiting and is pulling him along like a kite.

With this piece, I went into a more anime-style direction, but with more detailed shading. My husband said it reminds him of the color pages in the manga, which I took as a compliment.

Time for another #dndchibi 🧡 This time, it's Trip. You might remember her from my Valentine's Day art. Trip is a Tiefling Rogue. She is half dark elf, half shadow Demon, and can trace her lineage back to the Eternal Empire's first assassin, the Lady Naishalea. Trip herself left the empire after a disagreement with her family and is now running a tavern in Valleys Heart, in the Dwarven Confederacy. She's Elya's girlfriend and Aodhan's (the other player character) cousin. The cloak she wears is a homebrew item called a "Cloak of Seven Shadows". It's basically shadow made solid and contains a number of Shadow Servants. It also protects Trip from the effects of sunlight.

Happy Halloween!

I was part of a Halloween collab over on Instagram, and decided to also give my Vivian a different background.

Vivan the vampire is one of my oldest OCs, she has been with me as long as Catlynn has. They are not from the same story. I have little current art of Viv, so I wanted to draw her again.

Lore dump:

Vivian became a vampire almost by accidcent; before that, she was a slightly edgy young woman. Being a vampire, for her, was not all it was made out to be. Her Sire left her and his castle shortly after she turned, and she had to figure everything out on her own while running the estate, keeping the staff in line, and defending herself from the holy order in the next land over - one of which was her former classmate. It was a pretty weird story XD

Once she found her feet, Viv liked to dress the part and invested in a lot of dresses and jewelry. Hence her outfit here.

At long last, meet Aodhan (at least in Chibi form) - the character of the second player in my D&D group! Aodhan is a noble Sorcerer. He and Elya travel together, they are not related. Aodhan has retractable wings and is fond of fireballs. He and Trip are cousins. I had fun drawing Aodhan, and his player told me he likes what I did, which is the most important part! Now that we printed them, I'll do a photoshoot with the physical paper minis on the weekend, so keep your eyes peeled for that 🧡
