Earlier this year, my good friend Surely-Sims came to me traumatised and shaking. A Jimmy Buffet Trashy Wedding Set had been haunting her dreams and she didn't know what to make of such tidings. I explained that the best thing to do was to take ownership of the horror, so together, we bravely recreated this set from the deepest, darkests depths of her nightmares.

It wasn’t every day two idols got married, especially ones that were considered to be the nation’s power couple. But today was that day. The day when many people tuned into the news and livestreams to see the two get married.  

Kai paced a hole through the floor of the bridal suit, her brother looking at her confused. He never knew the type of stress brides got on their wedding day. Her bridesmaids had gone to get pictures with the groomsmen, so it was just her, Bo, and Yuqi, Yuqi being her maid of honor. 

The wedding was taking place in a large greenhouse, keeping the people warm from the chill that was winter in South Korea. The large building held several of their closest friends and biggest celebrities. Yuqi and the rest of (G)-Idle were her bridesmaids, while Lisa and Wonyoung were the last two. The boys were Changbin’s groomsmen while Chan was the best man. Ateez, the rest of Blackpink, and almost half of the industry was on the guest list. The rest of the guest list was family on Changbin’s side, making the wedding have roughly seven hundred people attending. Even JYP and his family were attending, that was how big the wedding was being promoted. 

Along with the upscale wedding, came her dress. It was a slight mermaid style, the skirts flaring out after her mid-thigh. The dress from the thigh up weighed 5-10 lbs. itself. It was adorned in jewels and beads, making it hard for her to breath, the corset back not helping her case. Her hair was styled into an elegant updo, the front two strands of her hair freely flowing and curled to frame her face. Her makeup was simple, a nude look with peach lips to enhance her natural beauty. On top of that, her neck and ears were adorned with sapphires and diamonds, making her look like one of those dolls. The necklace, thankfully, wasn’t too gaudy, putting just the right amount of interesting texture to her look. 

Yuqi got a buzz from her phone, and she cursed. “Kai, baby, it’s go-time.” Kai internally groaned. She wasn’t ready yet, she doesn’t think she’ll ever be ready. She took a deep breath, linked her arm with Bo’s, and made her way to enter. Yuqi had quickly gone to walk down with Chan on her arm, giving her a look of encouragement. It reminded her of that day in February, not too long after their engagement. 

“Who's the best man?” Hyunjin asked Changbin, days after the announcement over Instagram and Dispatch. 

“I don’t know.” Changbin commented, braiding Kai’s hair, who was fast asleep with a glass of soju. 

“It’s going to be me, obviously.” Han snorted, making heads snap towards him. 

“Ain’t no way, it’ll be me.” Feliz said, and it became a huge argument between the seven members. Changbin watched them, amused, already having an idea who it’ll be. 

Kai stirred, making the men freeze. “What’s going on?” She yawned, making Changbin glare at the men who woke her up. 

“Just because of that, Chan will be my best man.” Changbin told the seven, picking the one that was least responsible for waking Kai up. 

Chan fist bumped, which led to the members wrestling and dog piling over Chan. 

Kai snorted at the memory, her nerves melting away as the music filled her ears. It was the instrumental version of Butterflies, making her crack up slightly. She met Changbin’s eyes, and they couldn’t stop the giggles that left their mouths at the sight of each other. 

After a quick couple seconds, she stood under the altar, hugging Bo after he went to sit down. The officiant, BoA, started the ceremony. The two had to hold in their laughs whenever they looked at each other, feeling shy whenever they made eye contact. 

“Now, repeat after me.” BoA instructed Changbin, who nodded diligently. She started telling the vows, pausing every now and then to let Changbin repeat after her. After his set, she turned to Kai, doing the same thing she did to Changbin to her. The two held bated breaths, until it was said they could kiss. 

The two went in for a kiss but instead of kissing, they bonked their heads together. This caused the two to burst out laughing. She cradled his head while the two laughed, trying to rub away the red mark while their wedding party couldn’t help but laugh as well.  

After a few seconds of the wedding party being anything but serious, Kai eventually landed a kiss to his lips, getting cheers from the crowd. She pulled away and continued laughing, making her wheeze from how tight the dress was. 

The two walked back down the aisle while their wedding party was following, bouncing and jumping up and down, like it wasn’t supposed to be serious, to hype the couple up. Security quickly crowded the guests into limos to transfer them over to the reception. Kai continued to rub the red mark on his forehead, before kissing it to make it feel better. Changbin chuckled, before kissing her deeply, making her squeak. 

She sighed happily, wrapping her arms around his neck before the limo lurched, the two falling to the floor with a laugh. Changbin quickly helped her up, pulling her into his lap. 

“My husband, ever the gentleman.” She snorted, Changbin kissing her cheek and making her giggle. 

“Call me that again,” he said. She smirked, before doing so. After each time she called him her husband, he would reward her with a kiss in a different place on her face.  

The two soon settled into a comfortable silence, ready to spend the rest of their lives together like this.

I've been starring at wedding gowns for to long and this is my conclusion.

Dyhard wedding with Gwen in a gorgeous mermaid style wedding dress (probably very expensive) and Alice in an old Edwardian style wedding dress which might have belonged to her great grandmother.

Winter/Autumn - they would get married in a castle or a winter garden

Summer/Spring - a nice beach or a forest

The colors would be kept in white and gold (maybe a little bit of champagne (this could be the color of the bridesmaid dresses)) but with flowers of all shapes, sizes and colors.

The entire wedding could be described as modern and expensive with a touch of chaos.

The invitation thing was a one off comment a user made on a completely different but recently made (within the last month) post. Like the comment had nothing to do with the post if I remember right. This was like 1-2 am that I went down this rabbit hole so everything was a blur after awhile LOL

Personally, I can’t wait for Tim and Heidi’s wedding. Not for further beef reasons but because the proposal and the pictures are so aesthetically pleasing so far that I expect the wedding will, too. I’m thinking spring wedding, garden party or wildflower aesthetic? Something whimsical and light. Shades of pink or green are my guess for bridesmaids and I’ll guess that Heidi’s dress is sleeveless with a looser mermaid silhouette. Or an A line with sleeves but the sleeves are off the shoulder and there’s not a modesty shirt to be found (that doesn’t seem to be her style but I’d fully believe she has beef with Jill at that point)

Damn I need to go down this rabbit hole more, I'm so ready for someone in that family to be openly anti-Jill lol. She's had it coming for so long, and it's just that much better if it's a girl and not one of the husband's like *chef's kiss*.

Wedding aesthetic-wise I get more of a classic, maybe slightly princess-y vibe from Heidi but yea definitely light, airy colors. I would LOVE it if she wore something strapless or form fitting or even boob accentuating and I know that's probably a long shot, but GOD Jill would just be seething.

Oh also I noticed that Heidi wasn't at the Rodrigues Thanksgiving this year 👀:

Which definitely just could've been a schedule thing but seems fishy to me, just because I want this rumor to be true so bad lol.

Julius Caesar and Cleopatra VII's wedding in that Asterix Hillbilly AU ( once again crediting @romaine-arts for that wonderful AU )

. Okay so it's a lavish June wedding

. After around a year of dating, Julius Caesar and Cleopatra VII finally tied the knot

. That wedding is held in Caesar's big Nashville mansion, with a bunch of celebrities and everybody be dressed to the nines

. Irina is there amongst the bridesmaids of that wedding btw

. In that wedding, Caesar wore a snappy black and white tuxedo with a red rose corsage

. And Cleopatra VII wore a gorgeous ivory mermaid wedding gown with a backless cut, long fingerless matching gloves, a lacy veil attached to that updo which was decorated with Pearls and a white rose wreath, ans ivory heels. The edges of the dress and gloves are laced with Italian lace btw

. The groomsmen all wore red and black tuxedos and the bridesmaids all wore different shades of blue gowns

. The wedding is a total blast - a fancy buffet, free flowing fancy wine and all that

. It is one of the highlight celebrity weddings of the year btw

. Meanwhile back at Asterix's Hillbilly town they all be watching some stuff of that celebrity wedding from their TVs ans then Geriatrix goes, ' Here we go, Caesar has now taken a new young bride. '

. At that wedding, they got Volumnia Cytheris to perform as a guest performer. She shows up in a gorgeous black and gold dress pop attire and Mark Antony is ALL OVER HER THAT EVENING

. Yeah well all the grown ups in that wedding went roaring drunk and pretty soon Caesar and Cleopatra are drunk rag dogging at Caesar's suite room lol.

I have a funny wedding prompt if you're up for it! I can just imagine this coming from Aelin's mouth, but also from someone else at her wedding (idk, both would be awesome really). Anyway, a bestman/maid-of-honor speech with the most odd, funny quips like "hello, I am Aelin, you may recognise me from the wedding just now" "I'd like to congratulate (name) for their speech, knowing it would be hard to follow. It was, I could hardly follow a word of it" "amazing, loyal, caring, funny.. but enough about me, I'm here to give a speech about (name)"

Aelin Galathynius was having the time of her life at her best friend’s wedding. 

Elide had asked her to be the maid of honor at her wedding practically right after Lorcan had proposed to her, still teary-eyed from the absolutely, ridiculously, completely fucking adorable way he proposed. Of course, Aelin had accepted, beaming through her happy tears. She’d been at Elide’s side for the whole wedding planning process, taking endless pictures and trying endless samples of food--hell, who was she to turn down free food?--and offering a steadying hand anytime Elide needed it. She’d been in the dressing room when Elide said yes to her dress, going so speechless when she saw the petite brunette in the simple, elegant, white silk gown with its fitted mermaid silhouette and the trailing, gauzy veil that Elide just grinned at her, nodding wordlessly. 

Now, as the drinks flowed freely and the hum of conversation echoed around the venue, Elide tapped her fork against her water glass, the chiming sound calling everyone’s attention. She cleared her throat. 

“If you’d all turn your attention towards the front of the room, I believe some of our dear friends have a few things to say.” She nodded towards Rowan Whitethorn, one of Lorcan’s oldest friends and his best man. Who, coincidentally, had been dating Aelin for almost five years now. 

Rowan turned on the microphone in his hand as he walked around to the front of the table, where he proceeded to give a short, heartfelt speech about Lorcan Salvaterre, once a tiny little dark-haired spitfire, now a big, hulking, dark-haired brooder. When he was done, he returned to his seat, passing Aelin the mic, only to have Lorcan wrap him into the biggest, manliest hug Aelin had ever seen him give, pretending like there weren’t tears in his eyes. 

She grinned as she strolled around to the front of the table, tapping a fingernail against the mic. “Well, I have to congratulate Whitethorn on that speech!” she began. “I knew it would be hard to follow...and it was.” A slight pause, giving a wicked wink to everyone. “I couldn’t follow a word of it!” She smirked at Rowan, who only rolled his eyes, laughing along with everyone else. 

“Hi, I’m Aelin, you might recognize me from the wedding, I’m the blonde who stumbled going up the steps and almost faceplanted during the procession,” she grinned, wryly recalling her near-disaster during the procession. “Luckily for all of us, I somehow stayed atop these stupid heels--really, Ells, did you have to make your bridesmaids wear these death traps? And now here we are, eating some quality food and drinking a whole lot of quality wine, all in celebration of Mr. and Mrs. Lorcan Lochan!” She shot Lorcan an evil little smirk, knowing how much he hated when she made his wedded name sound like “Lorcan Lickin’,” which, of course, she and Elide had no small amount of dirty jokes about. 

“I want to tell all of you a few things about a very special person. She is possibly the most brilliant, fearless, talented, amazing, loyal, caring, funny woman I’ve ever met...” Another dramatic pause. “But enough about me, tonight is Elide’s night!” More chuckles from the guests. “In all seriousness--words I never use, by the way--Elide Lochan is one of the most incredible people I have ever had the honor of meeting. From the day we met in, what, middle school? Grade school? I knew you were a forever friend, one of those people you just can’t forget, no matter that we lived in different countries for several years. I’ll always remember the way I squealed when I registered for dorm housing for freshman year and saw the name “Elide Lochan” as my roommate assignment. And I’ll always remember all of that year...because there were some things we’ll never get out of our heads. Right, Ells?” She grinned broadly at the brunette. “You brought me through that year, Ells, you really did. I am forever going to be in awe of your talents, whether in the lab or behind the bar. You showed everyone in your program that not only can a woman go into neurosurgery, she rules the damn field, even your attendings ask you for advice. You blaze a bright new trail everywhere you go, and I am so, so beyond honored to be standing at your side today as you finally marry the man who’s been groveling at your feet for seven years.” Laughter echoed around the venue at that. 

Aelin raised her champagne glass to the newlyweds. “To both of you--may your futures be filled with joy, laughter, and all the good things in the world!” She drank the toast and headed towards her seat, turning at the last second to deliver one last comment. “And Lorcan, if you hurt her in any way, I will rip your favorite parts into little tiny pieces.” Blowing the both of them a kiss, she took her seat to much laughter and applause, speech concluded. 

Following the rest of the dinner and short speeches and Elide and Lorcan’s first dance, which brought almost everyone to tears as they watched the very happy couple sway to “I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You,” the rest of the wedding guests slowly migrated onto the dance floor, laughing and dancing to a whole variety of songs. Aelin shared several dances with the bridesmaids, yell-singing at the top of their slightly tipsy lungs. 

And she shared the first slow dance with Rowan, whose warm, strong hand laced with hers as the dreamy, waltzlike song began, pulling her into his arms. She leaned against him, looping her arms around his neck, grinning up at him as they swayed along, sharing in their dear friends’ happy day. 

This could be us, Aelin realized, letting her mind conjure up the scene: her white dress, made backless just for Rowan, against his dark suit, a single kingsflame in his lapel to match the bouquet she carried, swearing to be each other’s eternity. 

Then she shut off that train of thought, refusing to allow herself to ruin Elide’s wedding day by wishing on distant stars. 

Rowan’s thumb caressed her waist, his touch pulling her back into reality. “You alright, Fireheart?” he whispered, green eyes sparking with concern. 

“More than alright,” she reassured him. “Just...thinking, Ro.” 

Somehow, he seemed to understand, not pressing her any further. “I loved your speech,” he grinned. “Just like you to threaten to castrate Lorcan.” 

She smirked. “If he hurts Ells, that should be the last of his concerns. That woman could rewire his brain if she wanted to.” 

“Already has,” Rowan murmured. “None of us know what happened to good old grumpy Lorcan, the second he met Elide he did a full 180 and turned into old sappy Lorcan.” 

It was Aelin’s turn to laugh. “Like you’re much better, you’re a total simp and you know it, baby.” 

“Am not,” he protested. 

She arched a golden brow. “So who was gushing to his mother about how gorgeous I looked in my bridesmaid dress, then?” 

Silence. 

“Rowan...” 

“Fine,” he mumbled, flushing a little. “Yeah, I’m a total simp for you, baby.” 

The little smile she gave him could have lit up his house. “I love you.” 

“I love you, Fireheart,” he whispered, kissing her slowly as the song faded.

Mako Mermaids F/Feb Day 19 For Sure

Day 19 For sure, Ondina/Weilan, 657 words, Rating T

Everything was perfect. Weilan had spent all afternoon getting every single detail as perfect as she possibly could. Rose petals starting in the hallway and leading to their bed, a heart drawn out in petals on top of the sheets. Candles too, so many candles. Little tea lights each once spaced equally apart, bathing the apartment in soft romantic lighting. 

She had a bath all ready to go too, bubbles piled high and more candles dotted around the bathroom. 

The most important thing was on her person and had been all afternoon. A ring. Silver with a tiny diamond tucked away in a little black box in her pocket.

Weilan went to pat her pocket and found it empty. Oh fuck. 

She searched everywhere. Ondina would be home any minute and she had lost the goddamned ring. In a flurry she threw one of the pillows off the bed sending it flying across the room. 

It worked, the black box sat just partially buried under the other cushion. Weilan grabbed it and opened it - the ring was still safe inside.

“Um Weilan? Why is there a pillow on fire?”

Weilan spun round to see Ondina standing there and the pillow she had just thrown beginning to smoulder into flames.

“Oh fuck!” Weilan snapped out her hand and condensed the water from the air into a blob before chucking it down onto the pillow.

“Weilan don’t!”

Ondina sighed as she fell to the ground. Her tail thumped into the rose petals, the motion of her fin sending some floating around. 

“Oops.” Guess some of it splashed on Ondina. 

“What’s all this for?” Ondina asked, looking around the remains of the rose petals. The ones on the floor were disturbed by Ondina falling, the ones on the bed wrecked by Weilan throwing her pillows and not to mention the charred pillow on the floor. 

“I had something planned but I think I’ve ruined it,” Weilan let herself sink down onto the floor at the foot of the bed and avoided Ondina’s eyes. She had tried so hard and it just all went wrong. 

“My answer is yes.”

“Wait what?” Weilan’s head snapped up.

“That’s a ring right? In your hand? You were going to ask me to marry you?”

“You really want to marry me?” Weilan asked, “Even after all this?” She gestured around the mess she’d created. Looking closer she could see some of the candles had spilt wax on their carpet, 

“For sure.”

Weilan wanted to squeal and jump in that moment, instead she opted for her language of love - sarcasm and jokes.

 “You can’t say that at the altar you know, or in front of whatever High Priestess marries Mermaids. Typically it’s ‘I do’ people say.” 

Seven Months Later

“And do you Weilan take Ondina to be your Mer-wife? No matter what the oceans and tides throw at you?” Evie asked, standing between the two. Ondina still didn’t officially exist, so an official land people ceremony with a registrar was out of the question. So Evie was asked to do it. 

Zac and Cam were Weilan’s Bridesmaids, standing to one side. Mimmi and Sirena were Ondina’s bridesmaids, both wearing soft blue dresses matching the boy’s ties. Weilan had gotten Rita to walk her down the aisle for this land ceremony; her grandmother having been there for their official vows under the Full Moon where the Eastern Pod’s version of Mako’s High Priestess had joined them together. Ondina had also stolen Rita to walk her down the aisle much to Rita’s amusement. 

“For sure,” Weilan grinned, unable to resist the call back to the proposal. 

Ondina laughed, their friend’s joining in and the pair leaned in resting their foreheads against each other.

“And do you Ondina take Weilan to be your Mer-wife? No matter what the oceans and tides throw at you?”

“For sure.” 

“I now pronounce you wife and wife, you may now kiss the bride!”
