Thoughts on josuyasu? Also: merman!AU josuke and okuyasu

My honest thoughts on Josuyasu are that they're silly and they are very much in love. I might not post much about them or other ships, but there's a bunch of Jojo ships that I like and enjoy seeing around! (I am just too big of a Speedwagon/Jonathan/Jonawagon trashbag that most of my posts and rbs revolve around them lol).

In the mer!Joestars AU, Josuke would be a merman while Oku is either his caretaker or maybe a regular visitor (since I think he's the youngest Jobro of the bunch?? I'm not too sure about this, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!). Maybe he's a regular visitor who gets a part time job at the aquarium after class!

I know a lot of people has the idea that there's not a single thought in Okuyasu's head, but the reality is that he's a lot smarter than people give him credit for. Sure, he's a silly guy and he may do and say dumb things, but at the end of the day he's a teen acting like most teens do. And not just that, but he can also recognize that he isn't the brightest crayon in the box and yet he is often seen making insightful observations that your Local Certified Dumbass(tm) would sure af not have the brains to make.

With all that considered, I think he would be the kind of guy who becomes just ✨ mesmerized ✨ (or should I say.... "mermerized"? lol) with the aquarium and the sea life living there after some school trip to that place, and even more so after meeting some of the mers living there. After that, he visits the aquarium often and is eager to learn more about sea creatures.

It's been established that Jonathan is often helping visitors and sharing his knowledge with them, so he is always happy to share with Oku his knowledge on both sea life in general as well as about merpeople. Speedwagon (who I'm assuming is either the owner or the manager of the aquarium while *also* doing a lot of the physical work too along with the other Jobros because he genuinely likes doing all that stuff and running the place the best way possible) would see the kid hanging around often and, even if Spw wasn't the observant man he is, he would still be able to notice the Very Evident enthusiasm in Oku's face every time he learns something new and just his eagerness to learn more. And so, a spot would be eventually offered to him for a part time job there. By this point he would know a lot about merpeople already, so it wouldn't take long for him to be considered for a role as a caretaker (with a little help, maybe? since he's still new and not experienced). It would be through his constant visits that he would meet mer Josuke and, now, he would be assigned as Josuke's caretaker due to them being friends already and getting along well.

Needless to say Josuke would be so happy to get more time to hang around with Oku. And, of course, the typical Teen Chaos and all of its shenanigans would ensue from then on. Nothing mean spirited, just teens being teens -them being LOUD, mostly- really lol (idk if merpeople have longer lifespans than humans?? but Josuke is still at the stage of a merperson's life that would be the equivalent to a human's teenage years anyways).

Swimming in rapid circles, you watched the whale Mer chase his son.

George was giggling loudly and happily, shrieking whenever he felt his father’s hands touch his waist or tail, threatening to catch him, only to then speed up a little bit and escape his grasp.

A smile was on Jonathan’s face the entire time, his eyes darting between the little pup in front of him and his mate. Unfortunately, this made him miss the rock George darted behind, instead slamming headfirst into the thing.

Gasping, you slapped a hand in front of your mouth before giggling as you quickly swam towards the large Mer. He was rubbing his head a little awkwardly but when you approached he quickly straightened up.

Smiling widely, you placed a hand on his cheek before reaching your other up to his head. Touching it softly, the only indication of pain was an awkward half-smile half-grimace and you shook your head happily, feeling Jonathan put his hand on the middle of your back, leaning into your hand on his cheek, craving your touch.

Even after all these years you two were still acting like lovesick pups, no matter you having George, no matter Jonathan becoming the leader of the pod, you still looked at him with those adoring eyes he couldn’t get enough of.

“Papa, are you okay?” Looking to your right, George was peeking over the rock, seeming concerned yet still wary, alert thanks to the game they were just playing.

“I’m okay, don’t worry.” Jonathan laughed softly, yet without the little boy noticing, his smile grew a bit more mischievous and with a swish of his powerful tail, the Mer had rounded the rock and scooped up his son.

George shrieked in both fright and then glee, the water rushing past him as Jonathan swam him faster than he could ever swim by himself through the communal area of the pod territory.

“Mama!” George called for you for help, trying to struggle though his giggles resounded through the water.

Quickly coming into action, you swam over with just a few strokes of your tail, quickly catching up as you rushed your mate from the side, intent to hijack your pup from his arms and tease him as you swam away, yet Jonathan saw you coming from a mile away.

Stretching out your hands, you were ready to pry George out of his father’s grasp, yet instead, Jonathan abruptly turned, bumping his hip into yours. The impact sent you off course, allowing the blue whale Mer to wrap his free arm around your waist and curl you into his body, trapping your arms by your sides as you were caged in.

“Jojo!” You laughed, flopping your tail a bit while George dramatically called out, his one hope for escaping now trapped just as he was.

Jonathan smiled as he hugged you both closer to him. There was nothing in the world he would trade for moments like these.

“Come on, George.” You scolded lightly, shooing him further into the grotto.

“But-!”

“Your father is coming, he’s just doing a perimeter check of the territory.”

Pouting a little, the pup allowed you to swim him over to the bed where you gently pushed him down, a soft chirr starting in your chest for him, instantly working to calm him down more.

“I’m gonna go out and meet him, but then we’re both joining you, okay?” Getting a little nod from the pup, you smiled and leaned down to press a kiss to his head, getting a soft but satisfied exhale from the boy. “If there is anything wrong, just go to Speedwagon or Erina, alright?” The nod you got this time was ten times sleepier, making you satisfied as you petted his head one last time before swimming out, stopping your chirr.

Once outside of the grotto, you saw a few Mer swim around here and there, though most of the pod was getting ready for sleep as the water turned darker with the rise of the moon.

Waving at some of them as they greeted you, you sniffed softly, quickly picking up on your mate’s scent and flicking your tail to speed up and go in his direction.

You didn’t have to find him when he was out like this, it’s not like he needed your help. But you knew he appreciated the company immensely. And besides that, you felt it was your job as the matriarch to help your mate in any way you could, even though usually your responsibilities lay more within the pod itself.

It took a while before you found Jonathan. The whale was about halfway done with the check when you did, yet as you swam towards him, you saw him pick up on your approach, his head turning every which was as he looked for where you were, his eyes soon landing on you.

The soft look that overtook him was ready to melt you, just like any other time he looked at you like that.

Swimming over to meet you halfway, the Mer began to circle you, his tail entwining with yours as he softly nuzzled you.

“Hi, darling.” He spoke softly, a hand on your arm before he pressed a kiss to your temple, a soft purr automatically emanating from his chest.

Jonathan sometimes reminded you of a baby seal with how easily excited he became. Any time the two of you were alone, his purr was turning on.

“Any troubles?” You asked after a moment.

“None so far.” He affirmed what you thought already, given his relaxed state, before turning a bit more bashful. “Do you want to join me?”

Smiling at him, you nodded. “It’s why I came out here, you silly fish.”

Seeming relieved, Jonathan didn’t at all respond to you calling him a fish, instead untangling from you as he instead grabbed your hand, gently starting to drag you with him as he swam the territory.

Quietly entering the grotto, it had now turned fully dark, the two of you relying on your night vision to see.

George was right where you left him, sleeping peacefully and you looked back at Jonathan, seeing him swim through the opening behind you. His wide frame took up the entire span of it and it surprised you every time how he could swim without being noticed, sometimes just turning up out of seemingly nowhere.

Swimming past, Jonathan glided his hand up your tail lovingly, tracing your side fins with affection before diverting to grabbing your hand and pulling you along, since you stopped in the middle of the cave.

It worked to pull you out of your thoughts as you now swam over to your son together.

Laying down, you curled your tail around him protectively, the pup immediately snuggling into you and your warmth in his sleep, his muscles relaxing as he completely sank into the bed and your tail, your side fin covering him as a blanket.

Only once you settled did you realise your mate hadn’t moved an inch, instead he was looking at the both of you, his eyes soft.

He could hardly believe his luck sometimes. Not only did you imprint on each other, the two of you got a pup together. George was one of the few pups in the pod right now, times hard and luck not on anyone’s side.

Yet as he looked at the two of you, he knew there was nothing he wouldn’t do to keep you safe.

Drifting down, he purred softly as he settled down with you, his stomach sandwiched to your tail surrounding George as he slung his arm over the both of you, his tail curling around your back until he could provide the tail fin as a pillow for you.

“I love you.” He spoke softly once he was fully settled and he watched you sleepily smile at him, making a warm feeling spread from his stomach to his chest and out.

“Love you too…”

It wasn’t until he was sure you were both in deep sleep that he leaned forward and softly pressed his forehead to yours, exhaling heavily through his gills with a small smile on his face.

“I’ll always keep you safe.” He whispered, keeping his eyes closed as he scooted just a little bit closer, keeping both you and George as close as possible to him, safe, protected, and most importantly of all - loved.

an interesting take they have is that all the joestars are merpeople and all the "jobros" are humans. there's also an au where they all live at the same time so their family relationships are switched around, with jonathan being joseph's dad, joseph being jotaro's dad, the generations in-between (jorge and holly) being an older sibling instead, and johnny from the sbr verse being jonathan's cousin so they're all around the same age (idk how mermaids age in their au tho, if differently from humans). josuke is still joseph's kid, jolyne is still jotaro's kid, giorno is dio's kid but adopted by jonathan, the jobros are just random humans all of similar ages in a modern setting.

they're all just flopping around on the beach and the enemy stand user tries their best to prevent them from reaching the water and leaving them stuck on land where they're helpless. joseph tries the Secret Joestar Technique but can only flop around like a magikarp. of course jotaro eventually manages to crawl to the sea and he's an absolute swimming ace once he's in water and gets the upper hand like a decent ocean man

I was gonna finish this piece for MerMay but then stuff (medical emergency) happened. Anyway.

Redraw of the one piece I did for a Part 7 Mer AU (link). Friend wanted me to draw mer Gyro again so I did. The story keeps changing for what I’d want with that AU but Johnny is a human, Gyro is a merman. Hot Pants is also a mer. Diego is a dinosaur still but this time an aquatic or big fish eating one.

for extra fun, what if they're like. The mildly eldritch Giant mermaids. Like, the ones that could hold a human in the palm of their hand

just. The Joestar family are essentially literal legends. Jonathan used to be Dio's friend and companion, protecting his ship and crew by swimming alongside them until one day he was betrayed and his skeleton was then hung up like a skeleton and ever since the family has distanced themselves from humans, save for Speedwagon and Erina since they were Jonathan's close friends

now the whole series has been shoved to the water. Maybe George II was a half-human who just kept growing until he had to be moved to he water permanently, but fell in love with his childhood friend Elizabeth who would visit him and even bought a home on the seaside. Maybe one day she was followed and George was slaughtered, and while she was able to get revenge she was forced on the run to escape legal repercussions

now thanks to Erina and Speedwagon she lives on an island far by the coast and almost an hour away from anyone else where she does her best to teach and raise her son in peace. Being only 1/4 mer Joseph could probably pass as a human, albeit a pretty large one, but there are some traits he struggles to hide should any person try to get too close, like having slightly strange eyes and patches of scales and gills

Suzie was a mer who'd pass through at regular times in the year and she and Joseph slowly fell in love with each other. They'd go on long swims into the sunset and stare at all kinds of plant life. Joseph would bring Susie all kinds of Land Foods to share and he learns how to cook specifically so he can share it with her. Susie tells him all about her travels around the world and deep in the ocean and brings back souvenirs. It didn't surprise anyone when they announced their marriage and Joseph purchased a boat so he and Susie could travel together

Holly grew up in the ocean and on a boat. She would swim alongside her mother and father as they travelled, going where she pleases. Susie and Joseph weren't surprised when she fell in love with the musician who would always play his songs by the sea. When Jotaro is born, he has a sort of a split custody of sorts. For the school year he lives with his father on land and attends human classes, and then during the summer break and any other long breaks he travels the ocean with his mom and interacts with other mers

Welcome! I decided that in order to grow my account I would run a fun little event! Essentially I will be giving you a list of prompts and you send in requests with a prompt and character- with me turning that into yandere oneshots! PLEASE NOTE: I will only be accepting five requests for now, but if this goes well and I enjoy this I may do this event again!

READ BELOW FOR A LITTLE OPENING STORY AND THE PROMPTS!

You frowned as you looked throughout the darkened attic of your grandparent's house- the amount of dust that coated everything was horrendous and you felt so close to sneezing as you bent down to rumage through boxes- it wasn't exactly fair that you of all people had been forced to go through everything and throw the trash away. Your grandparent knew you couldn't stand dust. But yet here you were anyways, god your life was boring. Everyday was the same- you wanted a change. And yet you were here having to dust off some old lamp- wait..what was happening to it?

As you held the dusty lamp in your palms it seemed to be emitting some kind of faint glow, a golden and warm feeling against your skin as it seemed to vibrate too- in a matter of seconds the glow had gotten brighter- enough to light up your surroundings. More seconds passed and you had to squint to protect your eyesight now as the lamp seemed to raise out of your hands and into the air- twisting and turning until you could hardly see it- and in an instant it all grew dark again. What..the hell?

Opening your eyes you realised the lamp had vanished and a wave of panic bubbled inside you, had you lost the lamp? What if it was important to your family? How would you even explain this? 'Oh yeah sorry your lamp kinda flew in the air and then left existence.' like anyone would believe that! Just as you felt like all hope was lost you felt someone tap you on the shoulder- had someone come up into the attic behind you? Slowly you turned to see...

Something really strange. An odd glowing figure with green arms and legs stared you down with an eerie grin- you screamed and scrambled backwards- a large mixture of profanities leaving your mouth. Did that lamp contain hullinagens?! "Thank you for freeing me my friend..I am eternally greatful, you may call me 'magic dance' and I will grant any wish you tell me..within reason." you looked back in confusion..wait- this was..a genie? Like a real one? No fucking way- "This has to be a prank." you scoffed and scrambled to your feet- glaring down the supposed 'genie'. MD shook it's head- its arms crossing as it watched you curiously. "I am...do you need me to prove it? that will waste your wish how-" "nono I uh believe you.." you lied, what harm could it do to go along with this weirdo? You grin and state your wish- forgetting that all wishes never seem to go as planned...

in the mer joestar aquarium au jotaro hates being carried by humans because he feels so vulnerable so he opts to crawl around when on land with his big strong arms and he is very stubborn

Considering all/most Jobros work at the aquarium, I think this would be the perfect scenario for him and Kak to start bonding. Just think about it:

Jotaro doesn't like to be seen or taken as a vulnerable being. He doesn't want to depend on others even though he knows it's basically unavoidable at this point to depend on their caretakers one way or another for as long as they stay at the aquarium/on land.

Naturally, and despite how smooth the floors may be at the aquarium to make it easy for the mermen to move around if/whenever they wish to, moving around like that and crawling all over the place all the time will definitely end up causing some damage to their tails, as they're not made for that kind of treatment (hence why the caretakers are always willing to help them around).

So, Jotaro will definitely end up with a lot of scratches and cuts and bruises on his tail. Cuts and scratches that he will try to brush off and just pretend they don't exist. But, of course, they need to be taken care of as to prevent some kind of infection (especially considering the bacteria and etc on land are not the same as underwater, and so merpeeps might be at higher risk of infection if they catch one of those bugs).

This is where Kakyoin and him can bond and become closer. Normally, Jotaro doesn't allow Kak to carry him around, and Kak doesn't press further as not to annoy the hell out of him. Still, by the end of the day, the two sit together by Jotaro's tank where Kak will help him get his tail cleaned and then he will proceed to patch him up if he needs to (it's usually not that bad, so normally it's just the cleaning process, and maybe a band aid here and there).

The first times, they were probably mostly silent, with Kak doing some of the talking while Jotaro only gave monosyllabic answers, and toughening through any pain or discomfort he felt. Then, as days go on, Jotaro's little hisses whenever he feels a stinging on the bruise that's being cleaned would become a subtle indication that he's opening up more, especially when it becomes evident that he only does this with Kak and no one else (meaning that he's become comfortable enough around Kak to the point where he can allow himself some vulnerability around him). And so, Kak would begin to try to talk and get more words out of him. It's a slow process compared to other Jojos and their caretakers, but they get along well and, sooner than later, they become quite close to the point where maybe, just maybe, Jotaro will let Kak help him around the aquarium (and, of course, he will be the only one allowed to do so!).

Cue Jotaro later on trying to come up with some bullshit excuse as to why he hasn't gone back to the sea if he really doesn't want humans to help him around. Or why he will only let Kak help him, for that matter lol

Hello! Sorry for the long wait!

I see the Joestar line as a big group of shark mers, all different species maybe, but as the ring leader (and the biggest Joestar of them all) Jonathan could be a Whale Shark! He's so big, like you cannot imagine. He takes up so much space, unlike his family he's pretty much stuck in the ocean :( but that's okay! As long as he's got you for company, JoJo couldn't ask for more <3 the spots on his tail reach up to his face and arms, and it looks like he's got freckles, super cute!

Who are the members of mertaro's pod and who are the "merpups"?

anyway imagine them finding y/n's place a safe spot for them to hang out on land so they frequently visit too and sometimes the whole pod gathers on y/n's yard to bask and rest, huddled like sleeping seals 😂

The pod members are basically the Joestar family + some friends/jobros. I’m not entirely sure yet. As of currently, Joseph is still the leader

The ones I’ve definitely written into the pod are of course the Joestar family (Dio was included tho he’s long gone because evil mf evil) + anyone who ‘married’ into the pod so, Lisa Lisa (tho she was already there of course because shenanigans), Suzie Q, sadao, Tomoko etc. + Then Okuyasu and Keicho, Speedwagon, Smokey.

[George and his wife were of course also in the pod, though they’ve passed away from old age by this point.]

While Jonathan was a little more reserved when it came to pod members (friends absolutely, but when it came to making them actual members a little more careful thanks to the history of betrayal with Dio), Joseph - now that he is the current Patriarch - is a lot more prone to adopting stragglers.

Second question: The Mer pups are from the mertaro dad au. Which is an au within an au because why not make it difficult 😌

In this au, Jotaro has basically adopted Josuke, Giorno (and depending on the fic also Okuyasu), raising them as his own alongside Jolyne. I still intend to expand on this au and the backstory of how this all came to be. But yes, when referring to merpups not in general, it is most likely referring to this au.

As for the little yard visit, that is only possible if you have a house at the beach, after all most Mer aren’t insane enough to go on land - not without *very* good reason (for this au, Mer are elusive, it’s why humans don’t have a lot of information on them and why seeing a Mer is seen as a token of good luck :3).

If you DO have a (secluded) house at the beach tho, the pod will absolutely appreciate a safe place to sunbathe and will probably return ❤️❤️

Hcs on Yanyu in the mermaid AU? How would she and Alex meet?

Poor girl was chased by a BOAT, because HOOMANS wanted her pretty scales!

Unfortunately they managed to take her dad, that sacrificed himself for the sake of his two loved ones' lifes :(

But the hoomans wanted a l l of the family

So as they were swimming away from the boat and the harpoon that were shoot at them, they met a pod!

THE JOESTAR POD!

They immediately told the pod that it wasn't a safe zone because there were humans there, but instead of swimming away the strongest of the pod decided to give a lesson to those bitches

AND THEY DID! They also managed to take Yanyu's father... but the poor mer couldn't make it because of a big wound that the harpoon made to him :(

But that was still not a safe zone, because there were also other boats that killed the rest of Yanyu's small pod, so the Joestar pod decided to welcome both Yanyu and her mother into their pod and them swam away from that zone

Also Yanyu is a very shy fish, but immediately became Alex's friend thanks to her extrovert self!

She also became friends with the rest of the pod. But at the beginning she didn't like Jotaro at all for the way he spoke to his mother, and even because he insulted her once >:0

But in the end they warmed up to eachother, and Yanyu also got very close with a green merman huhuhu ;))

Alex and Polnareff noticed that, and they did EVERYTHING it took to make them interact more and to even leave them so time alooone ;)))

Yanyu is very shy because of her bright colors, since they bring in a lot of attention. And even if she got used to it, there'll be always a slight blush on her cheeks whenever all of the mer turn to her direction

She is very skilled in doing jewerly with algae and other stuff she finds in the ocean, such as pieces of human jewerly, rocks and pretty seashells

She did one for Kakyoin and MMMMM THE DOKI DOKI SHE FELT WHEN HE PUT THAT ON AND SAID "I'll wear it forever and never lose it" AAAAAAAA

Is very fascinated from Joseph's stories, but more impressed on how the story about his lost left hand always changed

Is very scared to go hunting, but thanks to her friends she got more used to it and became more confident >:3

Since it was the period and place, Kakyoin took advantage of it to bring Yanyu on a date to see the mantas migrate!! SO ROMANTIIIC

At the beginning she refused to go up to the surface, but she was really curious of it and also wanted to have fun with her friends, and from that moment on she LOVES going on the beach at night nyehehehe >:3 Sand is fun

Shows so much respect to the older mers Jonathan and Erina and blushes everytime they make her a compliment >.<

She's very happy in her new pod, and is happy that at least her mother is there with her to share the wholesomeness of it :'') 💖💖💖
