Listen-
When I started talking about Cassidy and Widow being friends, I thought that they were going to stay that way in my mind...
But then I came across one ship fanart of them and it got me thinking...
Then it got me searching...
It fits all my criteria for the ships I like...
This is my pain as a multi-shipper...
AND IT'S ALWAYS RARE PAIR'S TOO
WHY DOES MY BRAIN DO THIS TO ME-

I drew this a while ago. I ship this rare pair and since it’s so rare I have no idea what to call it since his name change. I proposed #barnspider but it’s so rare no one really responded to that so anyone out there in Tumblr land ship these two idiots and know what the proper tag should be?

I miss the Mc nicknames on Grey’s Anatomy. McDreamy for Derek. McSteamy for Mark and McWidow for Hayes. I wish Nick had a nickname. He needs a Mc nickname that way it seals the deal between him and Meredith.

i legitimately liked mcwidow and i’m sad he’s gone just like that. it is sooo weird how this show just gets rid of presumably season long contract actors in the middle of a season

Christmas Whiskey Part Two - Merhayes
@merxmac asked for a part two to this fanfic so I hope this doesn't disappoint. Also, if y'all have prompts please send them my way, my dissertation is killing me and I'd love a distraction
Cormac wasn’t surprised when he got home on Christmas Eve to find his boys still awake playing video games and Irene in the kitchen prepping the turkey. He’d managed to draw the boys’ attention from their game long enough to propose the idea of dropping in on Meredith and her family during their walk.
He wasn’t at all surprised at Irene’s eagerness to the suggestion. His sister-in-law had been wanting to meet Meredith since her own visit to the hospital. Once she’d found out that the General Surgeon was out of her coma and back on her feet, she’d kept asking Cormac when they could meet. So far, he had managed to put her off by saying that Meredith was still recovering and that everyone’s schedules at the hospital were still crazy as they came out of the peak of the pandemic. What Cormac had been surprised at was how easily the boys agreed to it, Austin even saying that he was looking forward to it.
***
Christmas morning had passed. By the times the boys had woken up, it was more like afternoon. They’d opened presents, lit a candle for Abigail and the boys messed around with their presents, which included a new set of goalposts in the garden that were a bit studier than the ones that Cormac had put-up when they had first moved there, and a drone. Cormac and Irene spent most of their time in the kitchen sorting out Christmas dinner. Afterwards, they’d all sprawled out around the living room, half comatose, wondering why they decided that a second helping was a good idea.
It was 5pm by the time the four of them had managed to haul themselves out of their seats and change out of their pyjamas. As he shrugged on his jacket, Cormac couldn’t help but feel slightly jittery at the thought of seeing Meredith today. He had texted her that morning to wish her a merry Christmas and ask if they should bring anything over to hers. She’d said that there was no need, they had enough food to last them until the end of January but said she was looking forward to seeing him.
“Mac, you ready?” Irene nudged him with her elbow. “What are you smiling about?” She teased.
Cormac hadn’t even realised that he had been smiling in the first place and quickly replaced his expression with a more neutral one.
“Probably thinking about Dr Grey again,” Liam joined in on the teasing as Austin made kissy faces behind his brother.
“You know it’s not too late for me to take those drones back.” Cormac threw an arm over each of his sons’ shoulders and began walking towards the door.
***
There was a large park that happened to be smack in the middle of the route between Cormac Meredith’s houses. After taking a long walk around it and having a kick about with the football the boys had bought with them. They began to make their way to Meredith’s.
“Are you sure we shouldn’t have brought anything with us?” Irene asked him for the 20th time as Meredith’s home came into view.
“We’re bringing Da, I’m sure that will be more than enough.”
Cormac groaned, a red flush crawling up his neck. He stopped in his tracks and turned around to face his family. “Can I trust you all to behave when we go in there?” He was praying that they wouldn’t make any comments in front of Meredith, or he would be mortified.
“I’ll have you know that me and my nephews are the best-behaved people you know.” The smirk on their three faces told him otherwise and he shook his head and he began walking again.
“Heathens, the lot of you. Don’t know why I put up with it.”
He was responded to with snickers and rolled his eyes. As the Hayes family walked up to Meredith’s door, Cormac cursed at the butterflies in his stomach. Damnit, he was a grown man with two teenagers. He should be past this stage of feeling nervous about seeing a woman. It wasn’t like this was a date. She’d invited him over as a friend, their kids were going to be there.
Cormac continued trying to convince himself of this as he knocked the door. It didn’t work though because the moment Meredith opened the door to his family an entire zoo erupted in his stomach. She wasn’t dressed up to the nines, in matching white loungewear and hair half pulled up but it was the flush on her cheeks that caused a wave of feeling to wash over Cormac. The grin on her face, the glint in her eyes and the ease of her shoulders. She was radiant.
“Hey, sorry it took a while to get to the door. We’re used to people just walking in and out. Come in!” She ushered, Cormac, his boys and Irene into her home.
Before Cormac was able to say anything, Irene stepped forward with a grin on her face. “Meredith, I have to say it’s nice to finally meet the woman behind the name. I’m Irene, Mac’s sister-in-law.”
“It’s nice to meet you, Irene. Sorry we couldn’t meet sooner.”
Irene waved off the apology, “I hear you were a bit tied up, so no worries. Thank you so much for inviting us to your home.”
“I have an open-door policy at this house, you guys are always free to drop in if you need anything. Most people do. Austin, Liam, feel free to hang your coats up. You guys have a good Christmas?””
Mer turned to the boys who were slightly surprised that she had managed to identify them both correctly. They’d only met two or three times and they hadn’t even expected the surgeon to have paid much attention to them.
The boys nodded and launched into how their Christmas had gone so far. Cormac couldn’t believe with how much ease and comfort the boys spoke to Meredith. Sometimes he found it hard to get two words out of them when he got home from work.
Meredith began to herd the four of them into the living room where everyone else was lounging around. Cormac realised he hadn’t actually said anything to Meredith since he had gotten there, he reached out and gently grabbed her arm, pulling her back towards him.
“Hey?” Meredith looked at him, slightly confused.
Cormac quickly let go of her arm, “Uh, sorry.” He rubbed the back of his neck, “Just wanted to say Merry Christmas.”
“The same thing you text me this morning?” Meredith teased, arching a brow. “Merry Christmas to you too, Hayes” She grinned at him, seeing him slightly bashful was a new thing. Cormac was usually a lot surer of himself.
“Come on, let’s head in.”
Meredith found that there was no need to make any introductions to the kids. Austin and Liam and sat on the floor with them, which was covered with blankets and cushions. Liam had started to chat with Zola and Bailey whilst Austin was taking a keen interest as Ellis showed him what she had gotten for Christmas.
As Cormac said hello to the other surgeons in the room, Meredith headed into the kitchen and began to heat the milk to make the hot chocolate. Whilst she was never going to be the next MasterChef, hot chocolate was one thing that she could manage.
Stirring the pan of milk, Meredith looked out onto the living room. Seeing the way both Cormac and Irene had settled into conversation with everyone else. Seeing both her and Cormac’s kids getting along so easily. A feeling passed over her that she had not felt in a very long time. Not since Derek had been alive.
She’d always felt at home here, a sense of belonging but now there was a feeling of completion within her. There was nothing missing, her heart didn’t feel as though it was yearning for anything. It was like something had just clicked into place.
“Can I help you out?”
Meredith had even seen Irene approach her, “You’re our guest! Go and relax.”
“You wouldn’t let us bring anything, the least I can do is help you with the hot chocolate. Where can I find the mugs?”
Knowing that Irene wasn’t going to take no for an answer, Meredith directed her towards mugs. “They’re in the cupboard to the left of the sink.”
“You know, I haven’t seen Mac like this since before my sister died,” Irene placed all the mugs on the counter next to the stove and began to spoon the cocoa powder in there. “When he first moved back to the states, I was excited to have him and the boys here but he wasn’t himself. Not that I was expecting him to be after everything he’s been through.”
Irene sighed, placed the spoon on the counter and turned to face Meredith. “Ever since he told me that you were awake again and leaving the hospital, there’s more light in his eyes. He’s more playful, like he was before. His tread isn’t so heavy anymore.”
“I, uh,” Meredith wasn’t quite sure what to say. She knew that things had changed between her and Cormac, but she didn’t think that any of the changes that Irene had mentioned were down to her. “I mean, work has gotten a lot more manageable lately with the Covid numbers going down so that’s probably helping.”
Chuckling, Irene began to stir the hot chocolate and Meredith poured milk into the mugs. “We both know that isn’t true. My brother-in-law has started to fall hard for you, Meredith. I just don’t want to see him hurt if you don’t feel the same way but from the way you’ve been looking at him, I’m going to guess that you do.”
With that she picked up two mugs and walked into the living room with them. Meredith stood, mouth agape as she watched Irene walk away. Her own sisters had only danced around the topic about Cormac and her, teasing her and making the odd comment when they were seen together. They definitely had not been as forthright as Irene had just been with her.
“Momma! Hot cocoa time!” Ellis’ voiced pulled Meredith out of her thoughts as she took as many mugs as she could carry into the living room.
Eventually there were only two mugs left and as Meredith made her last trip from the kitchen, there was only one person, other than herself left without a mug.
“Hot chocolate?” Meredith offered the mug to Cormac who took it gratefully, their finger brushing against each other.
“Thanks, Grey.”
Looking around for a place to sit, Meredith found that the only place left was next to Cormac on the two-seater.
“Do you mind?” She asked, motioning to the seat next to him with her head.
“That you sit on your sofa in your house?” The glint in his eye made simultaneously made Meredith’s stomach flip and made her want to punch him
“I don’t know why I bothered asking…” Meredith muttered under her breath, but Cormac managed to hear and laughed.
From the other side of the room, Irene kept an eye on them the entire night. Now 100% sure that Meredith Grey did feel the same way about Cormac and come hell or high water, she was going to make sure that they both did something about it.

Grey's Anatomy Review 17x3
A truly emotional episode, also Where the heck was Dr Perez, I missed you come back.
___________________________________________
(Meredith Grey)
The belle of the ball for this episode, Meredith. Hasn't she been through enough? They were plenty of other doctors who haven't been tortured yet. But then again without her getting Covid we probably wouldn't have been treated to the Derek scene and possible cameos from other beloved characters. I loved every bit of the scenes on the beach even though I found myself wishing she would pass out some more so I could get even more Derek scenes, I mean you can't blame me they even played the MerDer song, but at the same time I was glad she couldn't get to him stay out of his arms Mer, you can't die no matter how much I want to witness a merder hug or kiss. It hurt my heart to see how broken everyone was, especially for Webber and Bailey who have both had to see her on the verge of death and pull her back from the brink of death way too many times. Ellis is adorable I hope she has many more scenes to come in future episodes and how cute is her nickname Ellie Belly. And she definitely did the right thing giving Webber her POA, he knows when to let go but will still fight like hell if he knows there's a chance of you living.
The scene with McWidow and her was adorable as well, my shipping levels for the two of them have gone up some more as well, but I did think it was too soon for him to be offering to be her POA if he wasn't just joking because I'll admit I wasn't sure if he was serious or not but after knowing her for such a short while not to mention his feelings that are beyond the friendly level for her, he would have done the extraordinary measures that Meredith wouldn't really want to try to save her. He's already invested.
The scenes with her and Richard were so wholesome he was the father she never had. He has loved and supported her from the beginning, their relationship is strong and one built on trust and hes right we do need Meredith Grey. The scene with Bailey was cute as well how she came to talk about changing her POA but switched to talking about her super risky surgery while practically on the verge of tears instead when she saw the previous conversation was making Meredith nervous.
Then there's Amelia and Maggie who have also been sitting on the edge of their seats praying for her to be alright. Wish I'd seen more scenes with the three sisters interacting a bit but the ones we did get were heartfelt and heartwarming.
On an unrelated note when she was trying to get to Derek but face planted into the sand instead was hilarious girl fell like a starfish.
___________________________________________
Tom Koracick
Not gonna lie for a good chunk of this episode I was started to dislike Tom. I love his character for some weird reason but at times his less than flattering attitude gets irritating, but then I realized that he has to be going through some stuff right now between the whole Teddy and Owen and him situation, the $100000 in booties incident and then he was fired from his job as chief of all chiefs. It's been a rough time for him and while that definitely does not excuse what he did to the new doctors it did make me a little more sympathetic to his rude attitude especially when he confessed to Richard that he didn't think he was a good teacher. And then the ultimate kick when you're down he received the news that he had Covid from literally the worst person they could have sent at that time.
Now don't get me wrong Koracick is a douche and all but he definitely is not going to get the same care that Meredith is getting, but Owen just told him to head home and stay there I know he's A symptomatic and all but even they can develop lung damage from Covid and he has no one there who really cares for him like that and will more than likely have to recover on his own without someone there to check up on him and he definitely doesn't have the same drive to live. Why can't he also have a hospital bed. Keep the same energy for everyone you're all on the same team at this point. When will everyone finally accept him into the club, this isn't the first time someone in that hospital has cheated.
Moving on to other things, I'm so excited to hear him say that he has to get over Teddy because he really does, especially because in the end Teddy is probably going to choose Owen, it's always Owen, but I'm not crossing my fingers about him staying away from her this time, because I've heard him say it before and now with him having Covid I think Teddy is going to be that one person who will visit him so she's not staying away from him anytime soon.
Might just be me but I'm sensing something might happen between him and the doctor that told him off earlier. Idk that's usually how most relationships on Grey's starts with the doctor offending the new comer but IDK.
___________________________________________
Owen
Is currently ignoring Teddy as he should be. She's just trying to talk to him as though nothing happened. The way he delivered that news to Koracick though could have been done better. I know he hates Tom right now but he could be a little more sympathetic he literally just told the man he has a life threatening disease and just said it like I know you have a flu that can kill you but go home and stay away from people, as though he has a common cold or a simple flu. This is someone who is a doctor who works with you saving lives in a pandemic and sure you don't have to like him but you do have to be on his team. Owen has cheated twice and yes this time it happened to him and yes he has a right to be pissed but have some compassion man.
___________________________________________
Teddy
Needs to stay away from Tom she only really attempted to talk to him after Owen gave her the cold shoulder, and she surely can't expect him to forget everything that happened so quickly and move on as though none of it ever happened. And like I said earlier she should let go of Tom and let him move on because at this point we all know she's going to pick Owen, it's always been Owen. I know I said at one point she should be with Tom but right now that feeling is gone I really don't think they're right for each other as much as I did before. And lastly I need her to figure herself out because she's treating the real MVP here and if she let's Anything happen to Meredith Grey after she survived the unimaginable she's going to have the whole hospital on her back and I will be mentally killing her as well because no boo not my Meredith.
___________________________________________
Richard Webber
Is now Meredith's POA and as I said earlier I couldn't agree more, hes the best person for the job. And I'm so happy for him being the chief of chiefs he seems genuinely happy again and I'm also happy that Koracick handed the job of training the doctors to him again because the man's right. Training the doctors is a gift and Richard surely has that gift. Enjoyed seeing him bring the doctors into the operating theater and giving the speech, it's been a while.
___________________________________________
Jo Wilson
Has really been having the work piled on her recently between Meredith having Covid and the mess of the pandemic itself she's been buried in work, and I'm so proud of her finally looking like a true grown attending in my eyes and she's doing great. The way she's been looking at babies of lately is adorable, I'm wondering which line they're intending to take her down with her new found love of babies. She doesn't have that much of a plot at the moment which is a good thing because at the moment having a plot includes having a positive Covid test.
___________________________________________
Bailey
Is seeing her last remaining duckling near death and is torn up about it. She sounded near tears when she was talking to her about the POA issue. She doesn't really have that much of a plot either which is especially good in her case because the Plot includes Covid and she actually has a preexisting heart problem so it would be very unlikely that it would work out in her favor. Watching her pride at seeing Richard doing his press conference was nice even though at first it seemed like she was a little upset about him being her boss again but she'll get over it.
___________________________________________
Deluca
Was seen way too little with Meredith in this episode they even gave Mcwidow time with her Deluca was only there for work which I found ridiculous, yes he had that one scene where he was grilling Teddy but that's not enough. That love triangle between him Mcwidow and Meredith is being formed as we speak. On another note I'm so glad to see him back to work again and healthy again and he's an attending I might have missed it but does he have a specialty because I've been trying to pinpoint it and I can't is it cardio? I guess I'll figure it out eventually.
___________________________________________
Maggie
Is understandably panicking she can't be Meredith's doctor because not only is she her sister but she is way too involved. When she asked Teddy of she was alright enough to work Meredith's case broke me. The pain in her voice and face, she feels so much and has been crying the whole episode, Thank God for Winston, he's been an anchor for her. I can't wait until they're able to be with each other physically instead of just talking on the screen. I wish them the best of luck.
___________________________________________
Jackson
Carrying on the work and teachings of Mark Sloan, and just existing really no plot at the moment as it has been for a while, and we weren't even blessed with Harriet this time but there was Ellis so I'll allow it.
___________________________________________
Link
Being a good boyfriend and father as usual. Hes so sweet, thoughtful and caring.
He also does not have a plot other than being a kickass partner and father and he better not have a plot any time soon either.
Amelia
Currently is just being a great mother and aunt with jo other plots which I am also happy for because it means neither of my babies are in the Covid plot circle so far, they're safe for now. Amelia seems so happy. I'm glad for her hope her joy can continue but knowing Grey's it probably isn't going to last for too much longer.

Just realized that Richard Flood (who plays Cormac Hayes) is 38 years old and Ellen Pompeo (who plays Meredith Grey) is 51 years old. I do realize that Mer is in her early forties, but it's nice that for once the guy/male actor isn't the older one in typical Hollywood fashion.

Is it weird that even though I haven’t watched “Grey’s Anatomy” properly since season 10 (excluding some few episodes, clips and edits), but I still ship Meredith and Cormac like hell? (+ I am so happy that Derek is back, even if it were only momentarily.)

So...after a long 8 month hiatus, it turns out I still go here loooool.
I thought I was done with Grey's (and I mostly am because it's just gone downhill) but apparently a few episodes were enough to get me reinvested in Teddy x Tom and now Meredith x Cormac.
Can anyone link me to some good fanfictions cos I've literally spent hours searching for ones that do my favs justice - especially Tom and Teddy. I'd be super grateful because I've binged who knows how many episodes at this point and I'm somewhat obsessed with these pairings

You Get What You Give - Merhayes
Inspired by this anon, sorry Clo but I stole this one from you. You can still do your Mernick idea but this one is mine now! This will NOT be getting a pt. 2.
“Nick, you’re a great guy, and I have enjoyed our time together – really. But-“ Meredith stood bashfully in front of her soon-to-be ex, in the middle of the airport, about to head back to Seattle. Nick ran his hand through his hair, and finally looked Meredith in the eye, cutting her off.
“But you’re still in love with the other guy.” He could barely hear her whisper he has a name before he saw her nod. “It’s cool, I mean, I can’t say I’m not disappointed – but you deserve to be happy. And if he’s who makes you happy, and what you want, then it’s cool.” He smiled sadly at her, and a pang went through her heart, knowing she was leaving him. But it was for the best. The entire time she was with him, all she could think about was Hayes. And it felt unfair to Nick to continue seeing him when she could only think about someone else.
“I’m sorry, and thank you. You deserve to be happy too.” Meredith squeezed Nick’s hand, and said a quick, soft goodbye before heading to her boarding gate.
-----------
By the time Meredith got back to Seattle, her only mission was to find Hayes and ask him out on a proper date. She didn’t want to waste time anymore.
MG: You around?
CH: Almost off shift. Why?
MG: Can you meet me at my parking spot when you get off? It’s important.
CH: Sure, be there in 15.
------------
Hayes had no idea what on earth Meredith could need or want so late at night, and he was surprised that she’d texted him so quickly when he knew she’d just got off her plane. He figured she’d want to head straight home to her kids.
“Hey – what’s going on?” Meredith heard Hayes call out from behind her, and she felt like her heart was about to beat out of her chest. She quickly spun around and smiled at him.
“Go out with me. On a date. A proper one.” She said as soon as he approached her. “Woah, wait – what?”
“I want to give us another chance, a real, earnest chance.” Meredith said to him, making direct eye contact with the man.
A second goes by, a surprised look on his face, no response. He thinks it over in his head.
This is the one thing he’d been waiting for her to ask him for so long – for timing to finally be on their side. For them to finally be together, with nothing in their way. And he’d have said yes with no hesitation if he didn’t know about who she’d just been with.
“I’m sorry, Grey. I can’t.” He said, diverting his eyes from hers. And now the surprised look found itself on her face.
“What, why? I thought you said Austin was doing better?”
“It’s not because of Austin. I… Grey, I heard about the guy from Minnesota.” Meredith’s eyes went wide. She hadn’t told him about Nick. “Wait – how?”
“Overheard Shepherd talking to Pierce about it.” She could feel his eyes piercing into her, and yet somehow, she couldn’t look away.
“Hayes, I’m-“
“Don’t. I don’t know what happened, and why you’re here now, and frankly I don’t want to know. But I do want to know why you didn’t tell me you were seeing this guy in the first place, yourself – why I had to overhear it accidentally from your sister. Why I’m always the fallback. I can’t go on a date with you because I need to stop letting you treat me like the second choice, the person you go to when things go wrong in another relationship. I am perfectly content just being your friend, and I will never regret having you in my life. But I need to respect myself enough to remove myself from a situation where I’m not a first choice. I’m sorry Grey – but I can’t do this anymore.” Meredith was speechless. His stoic stance and facial expressions showed no remorse. She had really screwed up.
“I’m sure the Minnesota guy is great, and I hope you can go back to him and live happily ever after. But I need to just be in your life as a friend right now. I need to know that I’m not just a fallback. Abby wouldn’t want that for me – I don’t want that for me.”
“Hayes – you’re not a fallback. You’re not a second choice.” Meredith said, tears threatening to fall, an intense desperation behind her voice. No man had made her feel the way he did, and she hated that she made him feel like she only wanted him when someone else didn’t.
“Then prove it. But don’t be surprised if I move on. All Abby wanted for me was to be happy.” And with that, he walked away from Meredith, over to his car and drove away, leaving her standing alone, filled with immense regret and shame over how badly she screwed things up with him.
And she didn’t know how to fix it.

Hi do you accept prompts? If you do, here’s one: Hayes taking care of Meredith at home when she gets a stomach bug
Soup and Sickness - Merhayes
I'm most definitely accepting prompts right now so thank you so much for this one! I hope you enjoy x
Meredith Grey did not cope well with being ill. She hated it. She worked in a hospital; her immune system was stronger than most as a result. So, when Meredith did get ill, all hell broke loose because doctors made the worst patients.
Amelia, Maggie and Meredith had gone out for dinner the previous night, a chance to catch up as sisters without any men or kids involved. Apparently, the seafood pasta was not a good idea because Meredith had been throwing up since they’d gotten home. She cursed herself for even deciding to order it. Usually she was a steak person but the one time that she decided that seafood was a good idea she ended up with food poisoning. That would teach her.
After a restless night, Meredith was determined to try and make it into work but after throwing up twice in the space of half an hour, Maggie had called Bailey telling her that Meredith wasn’t coming into work today. So, once the kids had left for school and Maggie, Amelia, Link and Winston had gone to work, Meredith was left moping on her sofa, half dosing off as she yelled at the daytime tv talk show.
“Of course, you shouldn’t marry him! Why would you marry a man that hates your dog!”
Meredith was stopped from throwing the remote at the sceen when the doorbell rang. Groaning, she pulled herself upright and to her feet. She wrapped the Ellis’ unicorn fleece blanket around her shoulders, slipped her feet into her slipper and shuffled over to the door. The constant throwing up had made her feel exhausted and even though the nausea had begun to pass, she still felt awful.
Pulling open the door, Meredith was ready to yell at whoever was bothering her argument with the tv until she saw who was on the other side.
“Were you ever going to tell me that you were unwell?” The thick Irish accent was like music to her ears.
Stood there in dark wash jeans, a grey shirt, holding Tupperware, Cormac Hayes did not look best impressed.
Rolling her eyes, Meredith shuffled her way back to the sofa. “Close the door on your way in!” She called over her shoulder.
She was just getting comfy laying on the sofa again when Cormac came in, placed some Tupperware on the table and lifted Meredith legs so he could sit before resting them back on his lap.
“Grey, you know as your boyfriend some might say that I’m privy to some information about you. You know, like when you’re feeling unwell and calling in sick.”
Meredith twisted her body so that she could see Cormac properly. She could tell from the look on his face that he wasn’t joking around. Worry etched across his expression making Meredith feel bad for not saying anything earlier.
“Sorry, it’s just been a while since I’ve had to let someone else know about this kind of stuff.” Shuffling, Meredith sat upright. “I didn’t think it was a big deal, just some food poisoning, I didn’t think there was any point bothering you with.”
Cormac gave Meredith’s legs a squeeze, his features softening as he took in his girlfriend’s state. “Meredith, I’m always going to want to know about these sorts of things. You’re not bothering me by telling me.”
“I’m sorry,” she reached over and grabbed one of his hands.
Cormac broke into a small smile, “You don’t need to be sorry, Grey, just know you’re not doing these things on your own. We’ve got each other.”
“Always.”
The two of them couldn’t help but stare each other for a while. Even with Meredith running on three hours of sleep, in a worn-out hoodie and hair flying everywhere, Cormac still thought she was gorgeous.
“I bought that Tuscan orzo soup you like if you’re feeling any better.”
Cormac had invited Meredith down for dinner one night when the boys had a sleepover and she had fallen in love with the soup. He’d offered on multiple occasions to show her how to make it but Meredith stood by the fact that she would probably ruin the recipe and never be able to eat it again.
“I feel less nauseous, but I just want to sleep. I’m too tired to eat right now.”
She fell back onto the pillows and closed her eyes, relishing in the quiet of Cormac’s company. Suddenly, she felt her legs being lifted and placed back onto the sofa. Frowning, she opened on eye and found Cormac looming over her.
“Get up,” he demanded, shrugging his jacket off and placing it on the arm of the sofa.
“What do you want?” Meredith couldn’t help but be a bit whiney as Cormac took her hand and pulled her up to sit. Why didn’t this man understand that all she wanted to do was sleep.
Cormac took her seat beside her, kicked off his shoes and laid down on his side, pulling Meredith back to lie down again and wrapped his arms around her torso. He kissed her cheek before pulling some of her hair out face. Meredith drew herself closer into his cocoon, savouring the warmth that Cormac provided her.
Before her eyes fluttered shut, she turned her head around to face Cormac who quickly kissed her before she could say anything and couldn’t help but roll her eyes at him. She wouldn’t admit to Cormac how much she loved the affectionate side of him, he already teased her about way too much.
“You know you’re going to have to leave before everyone comes back, right?”
“I know, Grey. I checked everyone’s schedules before I came over.”
Meredith murmured in response, getting herself comfortable again.
“You know, I’m pretty sure they think we’re dating anyway.”
Yawning, Meredith replied, “I promise we’ll tell them soon.”
Not waiting to hear if he responded, Meredith fell into the best sleep she’d had in a while.
