My 2023 Fanfic-Wrapped

I only really started reading Pedro fanfic in April or May, I got started on some of the well-known fics on AO3 that were recommended on tiktok. However, one of them brought me to tumblr (because I wanted to see more from this author, I wanted to see their moodboards and their sneak peeks). And I haven’t left since.

I even decided to try my hand at writing as well. It’s been a LOT of fun. (My masterlist is here if you want to see all the weird shit I wrote so far). Thank you to everyone who has supported me in all my efforts and to all the friends I've made.

I wanted to create this list to highlight some of my faves this year. If you haven’t read these, they all come highly recommended by me.

Something just came to me. In your yandere ASMR turtles blurb, the main reason (from what I can see) that the turtles went yandere is from m/c’s comments, which would imply that the turtles stalk every one of their avid followers, or at least have stalked them at some point.

Now, I highly doubt any of them would actually do that (even as a yandere, I don’t see the reason they would stalk every single fan of theirs), also someone would probably complain if they were being stalked by a giant turtle (someone would notice), so why would they go out of their way to stalk m/c… unless…

They were already stalking m/c in the first place…

Think about it. The turtles were already aware of m/c’s existence, and their comments on their channels only fueled their desires. Maybe they even made the channel specifically for m/c, knowing they like ASMR, and slowly learning more about their likings and changing to be more like that.

Donnie could even make the channel private so only m/c can view it, and use AI’s to like and comment on the video to make it seem legit. Imagine if all the turtles were in on it… m/c would be screwed.

Imagine poor m/c, who is just trying to sleep, and suddenly they get ASMR’d in bed by a creepy stalker who runs the channel they like. When m/c finally passes out (let’s be real here, we would all fall asleep real quickly to their hushed voices, scary situation or not), they kidnap them to the lair and basically put m/c in ASMR hell haven!

Wait! Wouldn’t this also imply that this AU is a mix between an isekai au as well, because the ASMR is then roleplaying as themselves?! Imagine cracking the multiverse only to create an ASMR channel to attract someone you haven’t even physically met from another universe-

Ok so I’m basically writing 2 separate blurbs- one for the “stalked you before” and “isekai” one.

Tw: mostly creepy stalkerish knowledge, and kidnapping- oh and obsession

(This is going to steer towards a romantic point- so be mindful of that)

Ok so in terms of stalked you before, I would definitely see this with Donnie and Leo. Donnie would do it because he would have the easiest time doing it without getting caught. Like you said, he could use AI to make fake comments or just flat out manage to upload 2 different versions of the same video except you can only view the one enabled to you. Which is the creepier one, where he uses your name and some other things. “Y/n, I know this is your favourite music genre, so won’t you dance with me to it?”

With Leo, he’ll definitely do it since he KNOWS he can use the purr tone somehow. Yes he is in denial if you don’t like it- he will MAKE you like it. Unlike Donnie who uploads separate videos, Leo manages to input things about your day to talk about in his videos but never explicitly says it’s meant to the directed to you. And let me tell you something, he probably gets popular with his ASMR ngl- either way, he will make his videos creepily similar to your day, like, “Oh, you got a 67% on your test~? Poor baby~” and you exactly got a 67% on your test or something.

Ok, moving on:

So with the isekai thing, I find it genius. But again, I believe only Donnie would be able to upload a video to an alternate universe’s website- unless by the fact they use the same YouTube as we do. (Just for this case let's actually say they upload on youtube)

Imagine how giddy they are, finally being able to more or less one-sidedly converse with the person they're so obsessed with! Finally, they can show their love and admiration!

They watch their comments if they ever do comment, and try to change up themselves in the asmr once in a while. since no one actually knows it's them. And the more they learn about their likes, the more they just want to feel them in person! (yes even Donnie wants just the slightest touch)

So as expected, once MC just snoozing to their asmr, they crawl onto their bed, give them a silly whisper of whatever they want to say, and next thing you know, MC wakes up in the turtles' lair, getting asmr'ed by 4 turtles who look way to fucking real and similar to the show.

"Hey, mi vida~ how was your sleep~? Did my fantastic voice lull you to sleep~? As expected~?"

"You aren't taking care of yourself properly...And I'm going to change that, whether you like it or not. No more accidentally dehydrating yourself."

"Ohmigosh...! My divinity is finally here...! In front of me...! Their loyal devotee...~!"

"Yes, yes, yes! Cuddles! Lots of cuddles and kisses! No more being lonely!"

Without further ado, here are the prompts.

Rules for Shuu ship week: It can be about any ship as long as it has Gakushuu Asano in it. Any ship. Some examples are KaruShuu, GakuLea, GakuRen, IsoSano, but rare pairs of any kind are always welcome.

If you have questions about any of the prompts, feel free to reach out, but I'll explain at least a couple of them.

Polyship: it just has to be a polyship. They can be any age, it can be anywhere, and about anything. It can be just a normal day in the household for the polyship, or maybe the 3+ of them go out on an adventure together, as long as it includes a polyship.

Isekai: Any crossover/isekai you can imagine. One I've been seeing lately is the spiderman AU for Gakushuu and Karma, which can easily be used for an isekai since they travel the multiverse a bit. You can also suddenly drop Gakushuu into a dating sim game and see how he does. XD And for anyone who isn't sure what an isekai is, it's when the MC gets magically transported to another world for one reason or another. This can be rebirth but with their old memories (Mushoku Tensei), a spell gone awry (The Devil is a Part-timer and Dead Mount Death Play), or suddenly being stuck in a videogame (Overlord and Sword Art Online) to name a few.

Music: this can be centered around music (since Gakushuu plays guitar) or be based on a song.

Also, you do not have to do all the prompts listed in a day, just one of them is fine.

Little known fact about me

I really love birds!!

And I love Winged AUs, so I thought, why not make my own version

So here’s my take on some of the well known AUs as what wings they would have (plus some dumb little notes lmao)

Classic: Pigeon

(Come on- its perfect- I don’t need to explain this-)

Fell: Bearded Vulture

(They coat themselves in blood and red mud- that’s totally edgy mc edge lords kinda thing)

Swap: Parrot

(Super smart, bright and dexterous- He deserves this- best boy)

Dream: Barn Owl

(Very silent fliers but don’t have water proof feathers so can’t fly well in rain (dream has a fear of storms- it’s all coming together))

Ink: Pelican

(Idk why- it just fits in my mind (he’s not a parrot shut up-))

Error: Secretary Bird

(Long distance and usually one shot attacks- like- these guys are so badass but also rly super dumb- they’re perfect)

Nightmare: Raven

(Only the edgiest bird for the lord of angsty teens (but also a super smart king of negativity ig)

Killer: Magpie

(Smart, dangerous and easily distracted by shiny things)

Dust: Herron

(Very precise, well timed, attacks in multiple different terrains via super sharp beak)

Horror: Wedged Tailed Eagle

(These things take out paragliders- you can’t tell me a tank like horror wouldn’t be one of these)

Cross: Woodpecker

(It was either this or a chicken and I don’t want the cross fangirls after me-)

What about mc dealing with survivors' guilt? Maybe their aus was falling apart, and they were one of the few pulled out in time? Family passed away in horrible accidents, natural disasters, or even wars?

I'm assuming this is for the stars given the context

Dream feels this intimately. He has massive survivor's guilt-- given all that happened, he remained relatively unscathed from the Apple Incident. The tree-- his mother-- is felled, his brother is this... monstrosity that he can barely recognise as his brother half the time, his AU itself is largely in shambles and stagnant, and he's still not quite sure what he's doing. what he does know is that there was nothing he could have done, really, to prevent what happened-- you cannot control other people, especially when you are young and relatively helpless. The same holds true for you; you had no way of stopping your AU from collapsing, to prevent accidents or stop natural disasters or wars. Mourn those who you lost, but don't blame yourself-- there was nothing for you to do, and that isn't your fault in any way. Ink doesn't... quite understand, but he can at least grasp the concept of feeling bad because you're the only one who lived. He assures that these things sometimes happen, and you're lucky to have survived at all in the first place. It's just part of the natural cycle of the multiverse; and as horrible as it seems to have your life in the hands of some fickle grand design, it's just... the way things are. But, he'll also show you the upside to this-- you know about the multiverse now, and he'll show you some really neat places, if you'd like! if you hadn't survived, you'd never get to experience this! Blue doesn't understand how you're feeling on a personal level, but he does know through contact. He doesn't have a hard time imagining if he were the lone survivor of his AU, and how that would make him feel. He'll remind you that you aren't alone-- not really-- because you have your friends here to help you share that burden. Let him and the others help you! You don't have to suffer in silence, or torment yourself over things you had no hope of stopping. And... you have to come to terms with that, too. There was nothing you could have done, and it doesn't make you a bad person.

My fave series! And in DC universe form!, And liked to share on mc being kidnapped by a villain and I liked to think mc have a gremlin side and might scared said villain of what they think and asking them if anything is real, or if they are real and not a fictional imagination of some being that will one day wake up and for all of them to no longer existing

And what's more to add in a cherry that they called out each of them their real names and telling them of what they are afraid and back stories to lead them to the way they are if they won't let them go home and give her ice cream before Batman gets them

She's the new Wayne kid all the rogues are going to try and take her as leverage or ransom. (Maybe some get attach and try to adopt her too?) It's just how Gotham is, if you haven't been kidnapped once you aren't a true Gothamite.

The reaction each rogue has is varying depending how public their information is. Like everyone knows what happened with Harley, where as no one is positive who the Joker is outside of the Joker.

So if their information/backstory is well known they can play it off as a case of a kid trying to be scary just to take control of the situation. Well the smart ones anyway.

If that information *isn't* public or better yet recorded at all this chills them to the bone. Warning don't do it with Scarecrow; it's tempting I know to give *him* a crisis but instead he'd get sure fixated on you. You presence brings a tingle up *his* spine and he loves it.

The Riddler is pretty quick to assure himself with the multiverse theory so you being from one where their a comic isn't impossible; it doesn't make him any less real. But now he wants to know *everything* you know. And if you don't know as much as you seemed to? That's okay he's still gunna keep his new stupid sister/daughter. You had a growing mind he can still lift that IQ. (Unless you like helicopter parents who homeschool energy with extra crazy and homework run)

The ones who don't have public stories and are kinda on the dumber side of things have big breakdown. Most of them rather subdued while they sort this out. A few get violent because they refuse to think your saying the truth and want to know where you got that information. This category is the more likely to just out you out in an alley and run because "not today demon child".

I'm just thinking abt the fanfic-ability of Intertwine. Bc like. Every instance you write, every change in the world, every individual story, au/canon divergence or a story that embraces the story's canon and original story lines, all are possible lives they could have lived/might live. Anything is possible when you have an eternity of lifetimes together. Yeah, maybe they all follow similar lives for a while, maybe minor changes set them on different paths. But imagine au fics, those could absolutely be worked into that. There could be a whole MULTIVERSE of worlds, all in which MC and Van are destined to meet at some point or another. Maybe it isn't one timeline, maybe its just the concept. Whatever the fuck you want, go ham. Write corny fanfic. They're Intertwined afterall.
