So apparently Futaba, Mahiru, and Nana are the only ones who haven't done professional theatre work before coming to Seisho... We need to have a fic where the gang marathons each others' embarrassing child acting stints.

Claudine has lost count of how many commercials she did as a kid. She regrets doing this marathon approximately 24 hours later, when her friends won't stop singing commercial jingles in broken French.

Maya: "Oh, Arrie? I have the limited platinum edition with two discs of bonus features, we can watch that"

Claudine: "Please tell me you didn't just spend $50 on a dvd because you found out I was in it."

Maya: "No, I've had it since I was 12 years old. My childhood dream was to marry Arrie :)"

Junna: "wow I did not know it was possible for her face to get that red"

Once they get past the slough of commercials (and Arrie), watching the rest of Claudine and Maya's performances is fun for exactly no one save Claudine and Maya themselves. See, these two have (coincidentally! No, really!) acted in a lot of the same roles, and cannot resist using this rewatch to stoke their rivalry.

The gang is fucking floored to see that Dignified Class President Hoshimi Junna has her face plastered all over a glasses ad (this is canon)

She's not even ashamed. They give her a discount on all nine of the new frames she buys yearly.

(Junna doesn't even need different glasses for reading/distance or anything like that. She just has to make her glasses frame align with The Vibes of the day.)

At long last, Kaoruko is on the recieving end of embarassment. Don't forget, she's actually pretty shy! She would be hiding her face in her hands when her friends start talking about how cute baby Kao is with her teeny little fans.

Hikari puts in her footage. It's an unmarked dvd. The screen blazes to life to show that she was apparently frontlining an idol group, and a not obscure one if the size of the crowd is anything to go by. As the footage continues, the gang is in shock as they realize they've heard this song.

Kaorkuo: "Hikari what the fuck why didn't you tell us you were Stella~⭐!?"

Hikari: "it never came up."

I’ve loved the idea that every single revue Nana performed while in the time loop was a performance of the Revue of Solitude for a while now, but what about the revues from her very first audition?

What were her first performances like when she really truly just wanted to preserve the happiness she’d found after so long of being alone?

Revue of Hope? Revue of (okay turns out it’s really hard to think of revue names, but hopefully you get the point)

To years of endlessly once again being alone, not just being alone, but having to repeatedly leave behind the worlds of people she treasures and their bonds to wipe the slate clean because even if it’s futile she can’t give up searching for the happiness she will never reach-

Anyways the revues between Maya and Nana are spectacular illustrations of how the auditions isolate people. Maya being raised her whole life expected to be a top star, so much so that she endlessly trains to become one as much as possible subsequently pushing everyone else away (thank god for her emotional support Claudine). While Nana desperately wants something the auditions can’t give her, but she hopelessly tries again and again getting trapped in the cycle of NEEDing to be the top star.

Both of them, performing their solitude together endlessly. Both equally trapped by the auditions.

And that’s why it’s so meaningful for Karen and Hikari to defeat both of them. Not just because Karen and Hikari exist outside the system. But that Hikari embodies someone who has lost her brilliance, just like Nana has (when she lost the 99th Starlight), and Karen is someone who won’t give up even after losing!

It’s a rejection of both of their greatest fears and the things that tie them to the auditions!

And Hikari and Karen defeat Nana because of their promise with each other! And Maya is defeated by both at once! Because stage girls aren’t alone! Because they are all standing onstage together! Because a singular top star just doesn’t work! Because stage girls can improve every day! Because-

Oh I rambled too much. Remember when this was about Nana’s revue titles? Well forget everything else, I think she and Mahiru should get to have a fun cooking revue
