I'm not sure why but I feel like I want to talk about something that happened three years ago this October. It was my best friend dying. And I've been told that my best friend wasn't ever actually my best friend but he was. He was like I've never been so sure of anything. And god do I miss him. I don't always but I was thinking about it and I realised how much of an impression he left in me. He made me want to get better. He made me want to get up in the mornings. For a while I lived for the both of us. Oh but the first few months. The first few months I wanted to die. I tried to die. I didn't think I could do the days without him, but I coped. any dialogue for Matty and livvy in the locker room?

The second she gets the call telling her to come down there, she’s running down the stairs and through the hallways. She has to ask a few people where to go, but she eventually finds her way to the room he’s in and she’s instantly by his side. He gives her a small smile as the medical staff talks with him, and she’s got worry written all over her face.

“Are you okay,” She quietly asks when the trainer walks away.

“My chest hurts, but other than that i’m okay,” He nods, reaching his arm out to carefully pull her into his side.

Livvy wraps her arms around his waist, anxious tears threatening to spill over as she clings to him. She knows hockey is dangerous, but that didn’t ease any of the worry she felt as Matty sat half undressed on the table. She hated it.

“I’m okay, Livvy,” He reassured once he realized she’d gone silent, “I’m going to be okay, I promise.”

let’s do a recap of your au’s since literally all of their men’s teams lost yesterday. so how did yesterday night go for ana, Hailey, Chandler, Grier and livvy?

LMAO PLS THEY REALLY DID😭

john and ana -> they went home and ana just held john for the night. he’s frustrated, he’s angry, he’s tired. she played with his curls and talked to him until they fell asleep.

nico and hailey -> very similar to john and ana, but their night got a little more romantic. hailey was telling nico how proud she was of him and how amazing he was, and it got to him a little bit so he showed her how much he appreciated her.

jeremy and chandler -> chandler was already waiting for jeremy at his apartment. she’d seen the score and knew he was going to be upset. they took a bath together and relaxed for the rest of the night.

matty and livvy -> matty got hurt and livvy was freaking out. they ended up going to the hospital so he could get x-rayed and she stayed with him the whole time. when they finally got to go home, they held each other and livvy didn’t let go.

quinn and grier -> grier and quinn actually did not spend the evening together. quinn told her he needed the night to himself so she went back to her own place :(

When did all the au couples go public, if they did

john and ana never really hid their relationship from anyone, but we know john isn’t super active on instagram so no one really found out until playoffs bc of course she got a wag jacket

nico and hailey did their hard launch at the stadium series family skate! i did a little insta edit about that

matty and livvy don’t go public until over the summer when he posts pictures of them from family vacation!

jeremy and chandler hard launch during Beanpot! she doesn’t have a large following so when she posts about the team and there’s a picture of her and jeremy in there too, she doesn’t think it’ll get around but it does. it causes quite the stir too

quinn and grier don’t go public for a long long time since they work together though. i’m not sure when they do😭

he ended up yelling at livvy and matty was there and it got pretty heated.

holy fuck🫢 how exactly does this go with hunter and his parents??

It started out because Livvy had asked Hunter what he wanted to do on their upcoming vacation, and he made a subtle comment about how it’s not like they’d care anyways. Livvy was confused because of course she cares, she always does, so she asks him what he means.

“You guys don’t have to pretend to care about what I want,” Hunter rolls his eyes, “I know you don’t. You never have.”

“Of course we do, Hunter,” Livvy tenderly speaks, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder, “Why do you feel like we don’t care about that?”

“Well probably because no matter what I do, you always tell Braeden and Presley how good of a job they’re doing,” He scoffs, “I make all A’s, I’m the best hockey player on my team and you guys rarely say anything about that. I feel like I can never make you guys proud me.”

Livvy feels her heart break as he goes on, and she feels like the worst parent in the world. She was proud of him, she always was and she knows Matty was, too. Knowing that she’s made her son feel like she wasn’t was enough to send tears slipping down her cheeks.

“We are proud of you,” Livvy tries.

Hunter stands up off the couch and steps away from his mom as he yells, “Then why don’t you fucking act like it!”

Matty had come down the stairs just in time to see Livvy staring up at their son with worried eyes, Hunter’s words echoing through out the house. He can hear the faint sound of the other two coming from their rooms to see what the yelling was about, and Matty was going to do his best to keep his anger in check.

“Do not speak to your mother like that,” Matt interjects, his voice cold and serious as Hunter spins around to glare him.

“Why not,” He snaps, “It’s true! It’s how I feel. Am I not allowed to talk about that?”

Livvy stands, stepping between her son and husband as she looks between them, “It’s fine, Matthew. I’m sorry if we’ve made you feel like that, Hunter. It’s never been our intention to do that. You can always tell us how you feel, no matter what.”

Hunter’s got his own tears of anger and slight resentment streaming down his cheeks, and he opens his mouth to say more, but the careful look on his dad’s face stops him. Both of them know it would never get past yelling, but in the moment Hunter wasn’t sure what he’d do he was so angry.

Presley and Braeden are standing in the doorway, worried eyes wide as they watch the three of them. Braeden’s ready to step in at any moment if it gets too out of hand, while Presley just wants them to stop.

“Hunter,” It was Braeden who interrupts the deadly silence, “Let’s go for a drive.”

how do Matty and livvy deal with each of their kids when they’re teenagers? What was a big moment each of the kid did a big no no?

with braeden, he's a bit of an aggressive kid and he went through a period where he was getting into fights a lot. matty and livvy had to seriously sit him down and explain to him that it's not okay. they had to figure out why he was so aggressive and why hockey wasn't helping, and thats when braeden admitted that he felt too much pressure with hockey. eventually they got it worked out and enrolled him in boxing classes.

with hunter, he once lashed out at his parents because he felt like he was always neglected for the other two. he got the good grades, played and was great at hockey, did everything and he still felt like he wasn't favored. he ended up yelling at livvy and matty was there and it got pretty heated. they needed to take a few days apart unfortunately, but in the end they all sat down and talked it out. hunter realized he was being dramatic, but his parents realized that maybe he didnt get the recognition he deserves, though it was never on purpose. they just didn't think he wanted it.

with presley, she had a habit of sneaking out and going places she shouldn't. she got a way with it the first few times, but one time matty had gotten up in the middle of the night and he saw she wasn't in her bed. him and livvy couldn't sleep knowing she was gone and they talked with her when she got back. they told her what she didnt wasn't just not okay, it wasn't safe. if she wants to go somewhere all she needed to do was ask, but now that she didn't, she lost the privelage for a while.

Question for all au's...how do they feel when their men cuss? and how often do you think each man curses?

nico doesn’t cuss a whole lot in english, but he most definitely does in his mother tongue and hailey already thinks that it’s extremely hot and she gets all giggly when he does.

john cusses a decent amount, mostly when he’s angry or just under his breath when he’s annoyed. ana cusses more than him but she loves it when he does because a lot of time it means he’s all riled up and they’ll have a fun night 🤭

matty i feeling cusses pretty much all day through out the day. it’s basically a part of his regular vocabulary and livvy doesn’t mind it much because she’s the same way. though she has to remind him to watch it a lot when they’re around their kids.

jeremy i feel like doesn’t cuss a whole lot unless he’s on the ice or around people he’s super comfortable with. however, he does whisper some filthy things into chandlers ear a lot when they’re in public and that drives her absolutely crazy.

quinn i can’t see cussing a lot unless it’s like around his close friends or family. he’s typically super laid back and relaxed and throws cuss words around loosely. he’s pretty level headed and when he does get angry i think that he might still keep the cussing to a minimum. grier thinks it’s cute when he cusses around his brothers, but like jeremy, he’s always mumbling the dirtiest things in her ear in public.

not without a fight - matthew tkachuk

Livvy hadn't left her apartment much over the last week, only going to work and to the store if she needed to. She didn't have the energy to do much other than that since she made the decision to stop her relationship with Matty. She thought it was a little sad just how much her own decision had affected her, but in her mind, she was doing the best thing for the both of them. They agreed there would be no romantic feelings between the two, and that was all she felt.

It was Sunday night and Livvy was in the same spot she’d been in all weekend; on her couch watching shitty rom-coms and daydreaming about what could have been. She was nearing the end of one where the couple finally gets together with tears lining her eyes when she heard rapid knocking on her front door. She paused her movie and slowly turned towards her door, confused as to who it would be and why they were being so damn aggressive.

Livvy throws her blanket off her lap and slowly walks towards the door, hesitant and careful as she peeks to see who’s disturbing her. She can only see the material and design of a t-shirt due to the proximity of the person, but it was a t-shirt she herself had worn before. Her breath catches in her throat when she realizes it was Matty who was standing on the other side of her door.

With shaky breathing and unsteady hands, she pulls her door open until she can see him standing there right in front of her. His curls are a mess atop his head and his eyes look tired, full of exhaustion as he stares at her. Livvy stands there, nerves radiating from her body as neither of them move. It was Matty who made the first move, carefully pushing his way past her and into her apartment before he turns around to look at her.

When the door is closed and she finally meets his eyes again, the words tumble from his lips so quickly even he can barely keep up, “I think I’m in love with you. I know this isn’t some romantic or big confession, but it’s true. I’m in love with you and I don’t know what I did to push you away, but I’m sorry. I’m sorry, Olivia. I can’t lose you, and not talking to you this last week killed me. If you don’t feel the same way for me, that’s fine, I’ll leave, but I wasn’t going to let you go without more of a fight.”

Livvy stares at him, her mouth dropped and her eyes brimmed with tears as his words register in her mind. Matty’s eyes were wide as he waited for her to say something, to do anything. He felt like his heart was going to be stuck in his throat if she stayed silent for any longer, and the way she was looking at him didn’t help. She’d always been so easy for him to read, but now it seemed like even she didn’t know what to feel.

Livvy had never been good with words or speaking her feelings outside, so in the most her way possible, she surges forward and slams her lips against his. It takes Matty no time to react as he wraps his arms around her waist and pulls her so close to him it’s like he’s trying to merge them into one person. His lips move against her own in a kiss that was messy yet described the two of them perfectly. They were grasping at each other like one of them was going to run away, like the other was going to disappear.

“Livvy,” Matty mumbles against her lips.

“I love you. I love you so much,” She whispers, tears sliding down her cheeks, “Let me show you how much I love you.”

How does Presley getting her first period go? Bc that’s Matty’s only daughter and his youngest

presley's at school when it happens, and livvy was busy with work when the school called so they tried matty. he panics when he sees that it's the school calling him, and he answers immediately.

"Hello, is this Mr. Tkachuk?"

"Yes, is everything okay," He rushes out, already out the door of their house and on the way to his car.

"Everything's fine. It appears Presley has had her first period and will be needing a change of clothes."

The color drains from his face as the nurses words ring in his ears. He knew this was going to happen eventually, but he wasn't ready for it, let alone being the one dealing with it by himself. His babygirl was officially growing up and he didn't like that one bit.

"Dad," He hears Presley sniffle over the phone, "Can you pick me up instead? I want to go home."

"Of course. I'm on my way."

for all 3 au’s: how are the kids school/dating life when their older like teenagers? any activities or hobbies? how much do they get in trouble? do they get bfs/gfs?

LYDIA HISCHIER:

she had her little pregnancy scare at 15, and she told herself she didn't date much after that. she ended up meeting a boy her junior year at an her school's football game though and they start dating!

she doesn't get into sports, she's more of a science and medical girlie. she’s a big reader and loves getting lost in books. she doesn't get in trouble tooooo often, but she does on occasion!

PAIGE MARINO:

paige doesn't date much in school at all. she wants to have fun in high school and "explore her options" a bit. though she doesn't hook up with a lot, maybe two throughout high school.

she ends up becoming a soccer player! she loves it a lot. she’s very outdoorsy and loves doing things outside. we know how much she gets in trouble ahaha

THE TKACHUK'S:

They're all pretty much carbon copies of Matty's family when it comes to sports. The boys get into hockey, Presley into field hockey, but Hunter is also on the school's academic team. Presley also ends up joining cheer for one season, but she doesn't like it.

hunter ends up meeting a girl sophomore year and they date throughout high school and into college! braeden takes a bit after his dad pre-livvy and gets a reputation😭 presley has a few unserious boyfriends but ultimately she goes into college single because she wants to find a love like her parents and no one has been that for her yet.

I want more of Matty with his kids😭😭😭

matty loves all of his kids equally, but he knows they’re not all interested in the same things. he makes sure to get to know them, what they like, what they don’t like, everything he can exactly like a parent who cares about their kid should.

with braeden, matty knows he likes to be active. matty takes him outside and plays whatever sport he’s interested in at the time with him. he teaches braeden everything he knows about hockey, but he also works with him when he discovers football.

with hunter, he knows that he likes to do more indoor things. he’s a smart kid for his age and he’s always wanting to build things or solve some random puzzles. matty isn’t super great at any of that, but he learns for his son. however, the day hunter approached matty and asked him to teach him to play hockey was a day he’d never forget.

with presley, obviously things are different because she’s his daughter. she likes to dress up, she likes to play pretend, and she loves to boss the boys around. matty lets her dote around in her adorable little costumes and lets her dress him up too.
