There is a massive black hole in terms of credited TES art and its almost everything done by Matthew Carofano.
He's basically been an artist/art director for Bethesda for 20+ years and yet we have almost no public works which are credited to him exclusively.
Even if its just sketches, ideas, corrections etc., there must be a massive trove of his contributions from over the years which remains unpublished.
Its likely in his personal archive or in Bethesda's, and it aches just thinking how there's a chance it'll never see the light of day.
I know part of his job is overseeing other artists and general artistic direction for the games, and maybe he doesn't want to take credit for the work of the artists he's been in charge of, but it still baffles me that Bethesda hasn't published even a sampler of his work so the fandom can appreciate how much he's done.
Bethesda, he deserves the praise! Please let us see more of what Matt has done for your games!

Just tried to do a quick count of the number of artworks in the Skyrim library book set that I have not yet seen online, or at least digitized in a satisfactory manner.
The count is ~70 give or take a few.
If I can't find any versions of these pieces online I may eventually try to get access to a high quality scanner. I'd hate to tear up my beloved books though so that's a "Big red button" option...I'd prefer finding digital versions instead of having to tear all the pages out of an expensive book set so I can scan them.
----
There is a third distinct artist besides Adam Adamowicz and Ray Lederer who did ALOT of the costumes and armors that you'll recognize in the game.
A lot of these costumes are essentially identical to what we see in game. Its possible earlier editions of these costumes were conceived by other artists and later finalized by this artist. If this artist was providing final "touch up" that would indicate they were Matthew Carofano as Matt was the art director on Skyrim. Most of these costume concepts are basically identical to the version in-game.
Orrr it is a different artist entirely!
I just can't say. We don't have any works attributed soley to Matt to compare against.
