AUGUST 2019 GOLD STAR MEDIA SCHEDULES & REVIEW

Members may earn 3 points each (up to 6 points) for writing, by the end of August 31 KST September 7 KST:

A solo para of 400+ words based on their monthly schedule (does not count toward your monthly total).

A thread of six posts (three per participant, including the starter) based on their monthly schedule.

Threads do not have to take place directly during an important date listed on the schedule, but must be related to what the muse is mentioned to be doing in the paragraph explaining their schedule/the company’s schedule for the month and/or their thoughts on the mentioned activities or lack thereof.

These schedules may be updated throughout the month if new information needs to be added.

Overall Company

Their company concerts have finally come up at the end of the month after lots of rehearsal. They concerts are a big deal since they’re being held at the biggest venue in the country, one only Origin out of the entire company’s roster have ever held a concert at. Other than a ploy to lift third quarter profits, they’re a clear showcase of Gold Star’s status within the industry, so it’s expected that all idols will be perfectly prepared and the show will go off without a hitch.

Gold Star Soloist 1

Album preparations take a back seat this month in order to use her wide appeal to bring in people who aren’t dedicated fans of any particular Gold Star artist to the company concert. She’ll take the lead as a host of behind the scenes videos for the concert again by being tasked with checking in with each act backstage during the concerts on video, once again taking on the role of a “caring senior”. She’ll also be doing fan outreach this month to reassure her restless fans that new work from her is coming soon with a specifically scheduled Q&A on her fancafe (reference of general tone, although the questions and answers don’t need to be assumed to be the same!).

Gold Star Soloist 2

She’s busy at work this month with concert rehearsals for next month and studio recording for her album. She’s been given permission to announce that she’s been confirmed for a full album comeback, which she’ll be doing on a radio guesting on August 24. She’ll do a radio guesting again a few days later on Arirang radio with Gold Star Soloist 3 where they’ll discuss his recent comeback and her approaching one and she’ll get the chance to make sure her English-speaking fans have also heard the news of her return.

August 29: Guesting on Arirang Radio (with Gold Star Soloist 3).

Gold Star Soloist 3

His comeback is in the second half of the month, so for the first half, he films the music video and makes sure he’s got the choreography down. As Gold Star likes to do when they’re pushing for general public reception or when they’re promoting an artist that relies more on public streaming than fandom like Gold Star Soloist 3, he’ll get a radio push alongside music show promotions to reach out to both his domestic and international fans. Of note, he’ll be guesting alongside Gold Star Soloist 2 for one of his Arirang Radio appearances to promote his recent comeback and her recently announced one.

Members begin recording for their upcoming mini-album this month, which is what most of their schedules consist of this month other than company concert rehearsals while the company brings in profits from their Japanese album coming out this month. Silhouette has also been selected to perform their singles “I Love You”, “DDD”, “Up & Down”, and “Hush” in a special show for the nation’s armed forces alongside some of the other popular senior girl groups in the industry.

August 18: Performance at K-Force Special Show (also performing: Lipstick, BEE, and Aria)

Aria

Aria will finish filming their Aria’s Parallel Universe series this month and it will begin to be released online for fans after they finish their music show promotions of Wag-Zak to keep fan attention. They have a number of performance and filming schedules for the rest of the month, and they’ve been internally confirmed to hold Seoul concerts in the fourth quarter of the year, so the members will have some early conceptual meetings about that and be expected to brush up on choreography that may make the set list. Aria has also been selected to perform some of their singles, “Wag-Zak”, “Ah-Choo”, “Mr. Chu”, and “I’m So Sick”, in a special show for the nation’s armed forces alongside some of the other popular senior girl groups in the industry.

August 7: End of music show promotions.

August 12: Idol Star Athletics Championships filming (also attending: Lucid, 7ROPHY, WISH, Fuse, Unity, and Knight, to air in September).

Origin

Origin takes off again at the beginning of the month for their Osaka concerts, then return to Seoul to continue Origin World filming. Not all members will be filming every day, but the filming schedule is jam-packed and there’s very little time allotted for filming taking longer than expected. After they finish the second pair of Japanese concerts of the month, it’s just more filming of a different kind for the members as they take a “vacation” in Malta to film a VLive series of the members bonding and “resting”. Once they come back, the members go into final Gold Star Nation concert rehearsals along with comeback prep for their new album.

Impulse

Release of a new album and comeback means music show promotions as well as constant fan signs and an appearance on Idol Room. Despite the pressure that’s been put on Impulse, Gold Star isn’t packing promotion schedules too densely this comeback in order to prioritize tour preparation, since that will be the group’s real moneymaking endeavor this year. The members will be rehearsing songs, particularly ones that will be given remix versions for the tour, and doing promotional photo shoots for the tour in between Eclipse’s promotions.

August 5: Release of “Eclipse” & Spinning Top album showcase, promotions continue until September 5.

August 7: Idol Room filming (to air August 13).

Fuse

Music show promotions continue and the reception seems to be better than it was for “RBB (Really Bad Boy)”, if going off of music show wins, at least. Fan and public opinion still seems to be split and it doesn’t look like “Zimzalabim” will be in the running for song of the summer, but since Femme Fatale’s song did better than anticipated, Gold Star doesn’t seem to be laying into Fuse for it. They’ve been booked for a Weekly idol episode with the theme of female idols across different companies and generations. The day they end music show promotions, Fuse will also be hosting their fifth anniversary fan meeting, a one day event they’ll be preparing for throughout the rest of the month.

Element

Management has been at work concocting new marketing for Element to help get them out of the shadow of Femme Fatale, their same year debut juniors. In addition to their Seoul concert and a festival performance, Element has been pushed toward a focus of continued online outreach, though it expands beyond their faithful VLives this month. First, they’ll be doing an Ask Me Anything on a Kpop-dedicated Reddit board, which will be filmed and uploaded online afterward. There will be a translator present to translate their answers to English when necessary and all answers will need to be approved by management first. The following week, they’ll film two videos reaching out to their Spanish-speaking fans, a demographic that Gold Star knows is one of their strengths, by filming a video where they try to perform their latest single “Bomb Bomb” in Spanish and a video where they compete at a Spanish vocabulary guessing game (Admin note: Ignore the teams in the video. The teams for Element will be main dancer/lead rapper and main vocal vs. main rapper/lead dancer and maknae/lead vocal/lead dancer. Main dancer/lead rapper and main vocal will win).

Femme Fatale

Now that music show promotions have ended, Femme Fatale turns their sights on preparations for their first ever tour, an arena tour in Japan beginning next month, to really prove that their moneymaking capabilities for the company extend beyond the CFs they’ve been raking in (like the Adidas Originals one they’re booked for this month). Amidst company concert rehearsals, they’ll also be deep in rehearsals and stage costume fittings for their own concerts, the setlist of which will include a solo stage for each member and two group covers to bulk out their current discography. The members will be asked for input on desired concepts, genres, and songs for their solo stages, but ultimately Gold Star will have the final word on what stages they do in order to keep Femme Fatale’s conceptual direction in check for their first major concerts. (Admin note: This means it’s up to the mun whether they had enough say to have chosen their own song(s) or whether management ultimately decided the muse’s songs against their input.) The solo stages are as follows:

CHAPITRE 9

Hoseok, 18 février. Année 21

20ans. Aujourd'hui je fête mes 20ans. Ce matin maman m'a offert de toutes nouvelles baskets, celles qui me faisaient envie depuis plus d'un an, mais dont je n'avais pas assez d'argent pour me les payer. J'étais fou de joie, elles sont assez fines et confortables. C'était des converses multicolores. D'ailleurs, je les ai aux pieds actuellement. La gérante m'a complimenté quand elle les a vues, me disant qu'elles m'allaient très bien.

Le service d'aujourd'hui était très calme. J'étais entrain de passer l'éponge sur une table récemment libérée par un couple quand j'entendis la porte du restaurant sonner, annonçant l'entrée de quelqu'un. Je me redresse et me retourne prêt à accueillir le ou les clients mais je m'arrête net en voyant ce grand bonhomme aux cheveux roux. Etais-je en train d'avoir des hallucinations ? Il me sourit, timidement d'abord, mordillant sa lèvre avant de m'offrir son plus beau smile box.

Je m'approche finalement de lui pour venir le serrer dans mes bras aussi fort que je peux dans un éclat de rire. Lorsque je le lâche enfin, il sort de son sac à dos une boîte qu'il me tend.

«_ Bon anniversaire Hyung...Je sais que tu adores ça... Il est fait maison...Noona m'a aidé à le faire rien que pour toi... »

J'ouvre doucement la boite, en étant bien précautionneux, et je découvre du kimchi comme je l'aime. Bien rouge et fort. Je referme la boîte en remerciant profondément mon ami, lui avouant que cela fait une éternité que je n'ai pas mangé du vrai kimchi. Maman travaillait beaucoup trop pour avoir le temps d'en faire, et moi je n'avais pas assez d'expérience pour tenter l'expérience. Le rouquin fut très heureux de voir ma joie face à son cadeau. La gérante nous regarde tendrement avant de me dire que je pouvais prendre une pause pour passer du temps avec mon ami, qu'après tout, c'était mon anniversaire.

Après l'avoir remercié, nous nous sommes dirigés vers une banquette dans le coin du restaurant. Je pose la boîte de kimchi sur la table un peu à l'écart et je regarde mon ami qui tirait sur les manches de son pull un peu timidement, se mordant la lèvre comme s'il voulait me poser une question sans oser le faire. Je le regarde en levant un sourcil, l'incitant à parler.

«_ Hyung...tu as eu des nouvelles des autres... ?

_ Jungkook est venu au restaurant le mois dernier, il m'a avoué recommencer sa dernière année au mois de Mars...Je n'ai pas revu Yoongi depuis son renvoi...Quant à Namjoon, Seokjin et Jimin...je n'ai eu aucun signe de vie de leur part...C'est comme s'ils avaient disparus de la circulation...Et toi Taehyung ?

_ Je...j'ai vu Yoongi...le jour de la remise des diplômes...Je n'ai pas revu Jungkook depuis ce jour là non plus...Je l'ai aperçu à la remise des diplômes... J'ai essayé d'appelé Namjoon, Seokjin et Jimin...je n'ai jamais eu de réponses...Je suis allé chez Namjoon...la maison a été démoli...il ne reste plus rien...Chez Seokjin...c'est un vieux couple qui y réside à présent...Quant à Jimin... Je...je n'ai jamais su où il habitait... »

Je détourne mes yeux de mon ami. De tous le groupe, j'étais celui qui était le plus proche de Jimin, je le raccompagnais quasiment tous les jours à pieds la rue voisine d'où il habitait, je n'ai jamais su où il résidait vraiment. Pendant le moi de Janvier, n'ayant aucune nouvelle, ni réponse de Jimin, je me suis rendu dans cette rue et fouiller l'intégralité du quartier, à la recherche de ce petit ange blond, sans succès. Je garde le silence, haussant doucement les épaules. Je soupire doucement avant de voir un milkshake à la framboise être posé devant moi, ainsi qu'un à la fraise devant Taehyung.

Je relève la tête et vois la gérante du restaurant, un grand sourire aux lèvres. Elle me regarde et me fait un clin d'œil en me disant que c'était cadeau de la maison en ce jour de mon anniversaire. Taehyung avait déjà remercié mille fois la gérante avant de plonger son nez dans la chantilly pour boire un peu de la boisson. J'éclate de rire quand il repose le verre et que je le vois avec une moustache de chantilly légèrement rosée. Cette vision vida mon esprit de toute mauvaise pensée. Je passe le reste de l'après-midi avec le rouquin, riant de ces bêtises qui me font beaucoup de bien.

Yoongi, 4 septembre. Année 12

«_ Yoongi Chéri... joue pour moi...s'il te plait... »

Sa voix était faible et rocailleuse, comme un soupire. Je me suis tourné en sa direction et ses petits yeux brillants me fixaient avec tendresse et supplice. J'ai hoché lentement la tête, je me suis levé du bord de lit sur lequel je m'étais assis un peu avant, lâchant sa main fébrile que je serrais entre mes petits doigts. J'ai marché quelques secondes en direction de ce grand piano brun derrière lequel je me suis assis lentement, dos au commanditaire.

Mes doigts ont commencé à caresser les touches sans un bruit, j'ai senti une boule se former dans ma gorge, j'ai envie de pleurer, j'ai envie de crier, j'ai envie de me jeter sur ce lit pour serrer de toutes mes forces ce corps maigre étendu dans les draps. Le son d'un râle à la forme de mon prénom a survolé la pièce, insistant pour que je me mette à jouer. Mes yeux se sont fermés l'espace d'une seconde, mon cerveau a cessé de fonctionner et mes doigts ont commencé à jouer des notes les unes après les autres.

Lorsque j'ai rouverts les yeux, le morceau était fini et j'entendais derrière moi de nouveau cette voix m'appeler, mêlé à une respiration bruyante. Je me suis retourné lentement et je l'ai vue, la main tendue en ma direction. J'ai sauté du petit banc pour m'approcher, avant de grimper sur le lit à quatre pattes et de venir glisser ma main dans la sienne, tremblante.

J'ai commencé à hocher la tête, la gorge serrée alors que son visage me souriait avec tendresse, sa main lâchant la mienne pour remonter le long de mon bras et sa main s'est posée sur ma joue rebondie alors qu'une larme a commencé à glisser le long de ma joue. Son pouce a essuyé ma joue humide.

« _ Yoongi-ya...tu ne dois pas pleurer...tu es un petit garçon fort et talentueux...la mort ne vaut pas la peine de pleurer...vis ta vie...vis tes rêves...pour moi... »

Sa phrase s'est terminée dans un souffle et j'ai lentement vu sa main se décoller de ma joue pour retomber lourdement sur le drap qui couvrait son corps. Je me souviens de son souffle bruyant qui s'est stoppé dans un soupire alors que ses yeux se sont clos lentement. C'était fini. Taehyung, 10 mars. Année 22

Après sa rentrée scolaire, Jungkook m'a téléphoné pour me proposer de déjeuner ensemble. Il avait besoin de voir un peu un visage connu. Je ne l'avais pas revu depuis ma remise de diplôme il y a un an et demi. J'ai été surpris de son appel mais, je ne pouvais pas refuser. Je lui ai donné rendez vous à la supérette où je travaille depuis plusieurs années maintenant, l'invitant à déjeuner des bricoles de la supérette que je vais lui payer.

C'est un Jungkook en uniforme de lycée, toujours ce même uniforme que j'ai rangé au placard des années auparavant. Le voir ainsi me rappelle tellement de souvenirs. Il entre timidement dans la supérette, je lui souris et viens le saluer. Il s'installe sur la petite table que je nous ai réservée, m'installant près de lui, lui tendant une canette de cola à la cerise et un sachet de snack au miel. Nous avons commencé à parler de tout et de rien.

Je lui ai demandé comment se passait le lycée, il me raconte sa vie de lycéen, il m'avoue se sentir extrêmement seul, en temps que redoublant, il était le plus vieux des terminales et cette idée le mettait mal à l'aise. Timidement, je lui ai demandé si notre salle était toujours là. Il hausse doucement les épaules, m'avouant qu'il n'y a plus remis les pieds depuis sa première rentrée de dernière année, il y a un an. Jungkook échappe un soupire.

«_ Hyung... ? A toi aussi... ? Ils te manquent ? »

Je regarde Jungkook sans comprendre au début de quoi il voulait parler avant d'avoir une illumination, en le voyant triturer le bracelet d'amitié qu'il a autour du poignet. C'était Namjoon qui lui avait offert...je portais celui de Yoongi, celui qu'il m'avait offert dans notre repère, il y a de ça bien longtemps. Ma gorge se serre et je hoche lentement la tête en murmurant un oui. Je repense souvent à cette courte période de bonheur qu'on a vécu tous ensemble. Cette salle de stockage avait fini par renfermer nos plus beaux souvenirs et nos plus lourds secrets.

Après ce déjeuner, Jungkook est reparti car il devait retourner en cours. Je l'ai enlacé doucement avant de l'observer partir, commençant à nettoyer notre table jusqu'à que la sonnette du magasin résonne. Je relève la tête et me fige. Un fantôme du passé vient de passer les portes de la supérette.

Namjoon, 10 mars. Année 22

Je pousse la porte vitrée, mes écouteurs dans les oreilles, la tête semi couverte par la capuche de mon sweat sans manche gris. Je m'engouffre dans un rayon, déterminé à trouver ce que je cherche : un livre, un peu de café, du papier toilette et un paquet de sucette.

« _ Hyung... »

Cette voix presque tremblante, je l'ai connais par cœur, je l'ai tellement entendu. Chaque parcelle de mon corps se fige avant que je me retourne lentement. Je vois Taehyung portant la veste du magasin. Je reste gelé sur place alors que l'ancien adolescent s'élance vers moi. Taehyung a pris bien vingt centimètres depuis la dernière fois que je l'ai vu. Il fait presque ma taille et pourtant, je suis quelqu'un de très grand.

«_ Taehyung-ah...Tu as grandis...

_ Tu as vieillis... »

La réplique de Taehyung m'arrache un léger sourire, dévoilant mes petites fossettes. Taehyung s'approche d'avantage de moi, l'air grave.

«_Hyung...tu me dois une explication... »

A cet instant, j'aurai voulu disparaitre dans un trou de souris, mais malheureusement, je ne fais pas la taille d'une souris. J'échappe un léger soupire en murmurant un d'accord. Taehyung m'attrape par le bras et me tire jusqu'à la table où trainaient les restes d'un déjeuner on dirait. Je m'assois lentement sur la chaise, serrant mon paquet de papier toilette contre mes genoux.

« _ Ma famille a dû déménager, notre propriétaire nous a expulsé...On a déménagé là où la vie était moins chère. Je ne voulais pas partir ainsi...mais je n'ai pas trouvé la force de vous le dire en face alors j'ai laissé ce message dans le repère...En espérant que vous le liriez...

_ C'est très récent...Une semaine et demi à peine...J'ai trouvé un travail...je travaille à la station essence un peu plus loin...Je vis dans un conteneur à quelques kilomètres d'ici... C'est loin d'être du luxe mais...c'est cool... »

ByCHLOE New York’s famous fast casual vegan restaurant ByCHLOE is now open in Toronto. Modelled after the chain’s flagship restaurant in NYC’s West Village, the Yorkdale location pays homage to its inaugural space as well as its signature menu, with items like their Guac Burger, Quinoa Taco Salad and Chlostess Cupcakes. The Toronto menu also includes a Maple Bacon Cheeze Burger, Poutine and Split Pea Soup. Word on the street is they’re already looking for their second location, in the financial district.

Virtuous Pie This vegan pie joint with locations in Toronto, Vancouver and Victoria offers pizza toppings like herbed potato cream, truffle almond ricotta, spicy Buffalo cauliflower, and gochujang-braised jackfruit. They also have vegan ice cream in flavours like Thai tea, bourbon vanilla, and salted caramel & chocolate pretzel. LOV Montreal’s beloved vegan restaurant recently expanded into Toronto with an airy, plant-filled space at King & Portland. Menu items include poutine with miso gravy, lasagna with lupini tempeh bolognese and buckwheat sweet potato gnocchi, as well as an organic wine list, cocktails, coffee and baked goods. Their newly-launched brunch menu, meanwhile, offers a tofu Benedict, French toast with apple-infused cashew cream, and a vegan omelet.

Lundi 5 mars

De Coït à Obama

Il a fallu remettre le réveil : nous avons prévu une grande marche d’Embarcadero jusqu’à Ciff House en passant par la Coït Tower et le Golden Gate Bridge et, si nous voulons être à temps au dîner que nous avons programmé à Berkeley avec les copains et ne pas être surpris par la nuit, il ne faut pas perdre trop de temps. Je savais que T. n’était pas disponible mais je suis déçue d’apprendre qu’A. et son copain ne viendront pas, sans qu’ils donnent plus de raison pour expliquer leur désistement. Je me faisais une joie de leur présenter I. Heureusement, la beau temps qui accompagne notre promenade et la beauté des paysages le long de l’océan sont là pour illuminer notre journée. Nous parvenons à Cliff House juste à temps pour prendre le bus et le train qui nous reconduisent à Berkeley. Le dîner à 4 est finalement très agréable, et les plats du diner végane plutôt bons ! On achève cette jolie journée en partageant un milkshake végétal chocolat et beurre de cacahuète, choquant le mari de M. en lui racontant comment ce milkshake est appelé l’Obama dans un restaurant parisien. Malheureusement, une fois rentrée à la maison, je commence à ressentir les symptômes d’une cystite : ce ne serait pas surprenant, je me suis retenue d’aller aux toilettes durant une partie de la journée et n’ai sûrement pas bu assez.

Jennifer Aniston also shared her signature recipe, which is actually also a good idea for those looking for weight loss recipes.

“On the pasta, I put eggs, cheese, turkey bacon, and a little sautéed red onion and garlic. It’s simple—no cream, no butter, no oil, no nothing. Sometimes I’ll add a little pasta water if needed.”

If she had to choose between tacos and burritos, Jennifer Aniston would go for a meaty soft taco with beans and guac. While the 45-year-old Friends star says she’s not a midnight snacker, her favorite midnight snack would be a frozen vanilla, chocolate- or coffee-flavored yogurt with granola as the topping.

Did you know the world will run out of chocolate in 20 years? Well, there's a probability. Regardless, let's load up on as much as we can while we can. Speaking of chocolate, you can't not mention Nutella. Imagine sticking a spoon into a Nutella jar and scooping out that glossy blob of chocolate. Now you can put that in your mouth straightaway and have the chocolate coat your mouth from the inside and while you thank all the food gods for it. But desserts with Nutella loaded in it is another thing altogether. Thankfully we have enough and more restaurants and cafes today that stock up on Nutella to lace some delicious desserts with it.

If you're a student and are on a budget, then Ricos is the best option for you. Try their Nutella and banana waffles for just 160 bucks. That's absolute value for money. The temperature now calls for something hot and indulgent and Roots Cafe in Gurgaon has the perfect drink for you - Nutella hot chocolate. For ₹150 it seems like a great comforter in a mug. Then there's AMPM Cafe & Bar where you can have the molten Nutella open lava or the chocolate Nutella torte. Don't these Nutella based dishes sound absolutely delicious? Mumbai
