Tallis is such a character. She's a very unsubtle self-insert of her creator and also the first time we get to know a viddathari personally. She has cool unique rogue abilities, and she's a non-optional companion practically designed to annoy players who already have a favorite party and want to have both their love interest and their sibling along for the DLC and still have something resembling a balanced party. She has a tragic backstory and an unfortunately low-budget miniseries. She's Quirky™️. She offers insights into the appeal of the Qun for a person who has had few choices and little power in their life. Her DLC introduces weird lore that is rarely if ever brought up again. She's loyal to the Qun but can't stop fucking it up. She will flirt with Hawke shamelessly. There is a painful catch in her voice when she asks if Hawke meant it when they said they didn't care what she was. She's a spy who's wearing her organization's logo on her shirt. Most criticisms I have seen of her character are valid and indisputable. I love her so much.

CONFESSION:
FInally got around to playing Mark of the Assassin as I was an idiot back in the day and mistakenly (and stupidly) listened to the section of fandom saying it did not belong in the game.  I ended up loving it. It was fun. And it was fantastic to get out of Kirkwall. It was a great diversion from the actual game's story. It made me laugh. And as I said previous, it was great to get out of Kirkwall. I'm sorry but as much as I loved Dragon Age 2, Kirkwall is BORING and LIFELESS.  I also think one of the main reasons I really enjoyed this DLC was due to the fact I did not take it seriously.  The two things I learned from this is I will never listen to the fandom again and the second....Too many in this fandom have forgotten that these games are about having fun.

World of Thedas Character Art Colour Pallets: Part 2 Historical Figures and Other NPCs
Like in part 1 which you can find here, though this post is shorter than the first. The thought behind this is the same, that it would be handy to have basic colour pallets from the World of Thedas Volume 2. These are split into 2 posts because picture limit. I also specifically chose the images with grey backgrounds and not the tarot cards, just for easier grouping.
Some notes for each section:
Historical Figures in order of appearance
Calenhad, Darinius, Emperor Kordillu Drakon, Maric
Maric is included in historical figures because he was presumed dead in Origins, and is dead by the time Inquisition happens. We also never technically see him in any game installment so I thought he fit best here.
Other NPCs in order of appearance:
Duke Prosper de Montfort, Grand Duke Gaspard de Chalons, Tallis.
Yes, Duke Propser and Gaspard are wearing very similar garb. I constantly confuse the art for the two, and it took this long for me to realize. They likely came from similar concepting iterations. When I put Dagna in part 1, I also forgot Gaspard existed in this set.
If you want to download this for your own use, got a handy google drive folder with all the images for your needs.

my only criticism of the mark of the assassin dlc so far is that the ghasts should have been in the whole game. I think it would have really lightened the mood in darktown to have these little guys bursting out of the sewer like waaaaahhhh

Chateau Haine, situated on the western verge of the Vimmark Mountains, is one of the many estates of the illustrious de Montfort family of Orlais. Duke Prosper de Montfort vacations at the estate frequently, particularly during wyvern-hunting season.

One of the best lines said in Mark of the Assassin is Fenris saying "Hawke stepped in the poopy" and you cannot change my mind.

When the Duke told you what I was, you said you didn't care. Was that true?
I think there's a lot going on under the surface with this line.
Tallis (like Fenris) was enslaved as a child. Unlike Fenris, she remembers all of it--for better or worse. She remembers her parents selling her to pay debts. When the Qunari captured a ship that was transporting her, she was converted to the Qun, where a Ben-Hassrath agent saw her potential and took her for training. There she became Tallis, "to solve."
And then, because she completed a mission imperfectly, she was demoted to Athlok, a laborer, before being offered the chance to redeem herself and become Tallis again.
Tallis says passionately that before the Qun, she was nobody. What she doesn't say outright is that the Qun has the power to make her nobody again. If she fails to perform as expected, she loses not just her position but her own name, her very identity. Her name itself is a verb, describing her function in Qunari society.
Tallis has only ever been valued for what she is--never who. She has only ever been granted value according the skills she can use and the services she can perform.
It's not easy, being an elf in the Qun. You're not born to it like they are. I've struggled to find that peace, that certainty. I know it's there, I just... keep falling short.
Hawke can respond to the revelation about Tallis in several ways. Tallis's response to a Hawke who says they don't care especially gets me. There's something so earnest in the way she asks whether Hawke meant it--surprised, confused, almost like she doesn't dare believe it.
No one's ever not cared. What she is is all that has ever mattered. No one's ever placed who she is as a person above the role she fulfills before.

CONFESSION:
You know the only real issue I have with Tallis is she takes up a party slot and is kinda odd mechanically with the whole knife throwing aspect. Like I think they were trying to strike a balance between the origins DLC’s where you get entirely new party’s and letting you use your main cast from the game, but I’d really just rather be able to bring a third person along
