3 out of 4! I imagine Mari's voice claim to be Gina Rodriguez who played Carmen Sandiego in the Netflix animated show, Carmen Sandiego! I wanted her to sound a little on the deeper tone with a fun quipiness to it.

MARI FOR THE SPIDERWEB GALAAAAA

LADYBIRD IS ON THE RED CARPET, LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-

They are dressed in an outfit that resembles their suit in colours, which is a big part of her exploring who she is, the outfit itself mixes elements of a tuxedo and a red carpet dress for a look befitting of our enby birdie and of course the elements tying back to a holiday, near and dear to her heart and heritage, Día de los Muertos with the marigold in their hair and the custom boots that she painted herself.

💕 "5 tickets to the Barbie movie please!~" 💕

I drew some of my ocs all dressed up in their pink best for the Barbie movie! These aren't all my ocs but I could only choose to draw some before my brain decides to hyperfocus on another project-

BUT AAAH THEM!!! Selena, Mariposa, Illy, Lizzie and Min my beloved babs.

Min is an oc I haven't introduced yet xD She's my TMNT 2012 oc BUT I HAD TO DRAW HER FOR THIS, HER MAIN COLOUR IS LITERALLY PINK-

Selena's outfit is based on that one pink carpet outfit that Margot Robbie actually wore with the hat and the blazer, it was the perfect inspiration!

Mariposaaa, Mariii, her choker and guitar pick necklace are gifts from Hobie AS WELL AS the patchwork skirt, also made by Hobie cause you can't tell me the man doesn't dabble in pathwork, the amount of patterns you can shove into a patchwork piece is so chaotically inconsistent it screams Hobie craft.

Illy our precious nymph, her look is inspired by a dress from Linh Phung's 'Sunny Hill' Resort 2023 Collection, I had it be shorter and changed the patterns on the skirt to look a bit more forest-y but the actual dress itself is so so pretty, I could never like draw it and the patterns on it and do it justice. Also her shoes are from Barbie: A Fairy Secret with some tweaks to the colours-

Lizzie! AAhhhh I wanted to do something almost vintage looking so so daisy pattern dress, pearls, frilly gloves and short heels. This is the first time I drew Lizzie with the sparkle eyes too aaaahhh I miss and love her-

MIN THE PINK BAB, pink Barbie crop hoodie with the tanktop underneath, a necklace of the Yin symbol, I had to give her a plaid pink skirt. She has this casual almost punk like bad girl look I really wanted to try and put her in without it being too much since she's the youngest of the babs at 16- Sparkly pink sneakers and the mismatched fishnet gloves :3

I'm rambling, I really loved working on this...even if i stared at a lot of pinks-

FINALLY

Meet Mariposa Juvera! An MJ variant who despises being called MJ and has issues with her self identity as a result, after learning about the multiverse and the various other MJs.

An inconsistent person, they're a quiet and serious art student without a lot of friends and a struggle to express themselves. She gets bitten by a radioactive spider and after discovering their powers, realize they have a chance to fully embrace her more chaotic tendencies and fully embrace themselves in an explosion of colours!

Becoming the chaotic and smart mouthed Ladybird, armed with different coloured webs and paint bombs, she protects others and continues to discover more things about herself.

I'm still working on some of her backstory as well as just their world in general and the dreaded canon events of her life.

3. Who cooks? Who cleans up? Who’s banned from the kitchen?

Whenever one of them stays at each other's places in each other's dimensions to hang out or just sleep over and even in the future where I see them elope and get an apartment in one of their dimensions to live in, the workload is split evenly Mari does some things maybe the laundry, dusting and dishes during breakfast, Hobie does other housework and the dishes during dinner. I think whoever is cooking in that time of day, the other will wash up after.

Hobie isn't necessarily banned from the kitchen but I think like our other tall punk boi, he's only ever really cooked things that are easy and not too elaborate in terms of his cooking skills BUT he does learn to cook, especially Mari's favourite foods so he can cook for them like they cook for him.

17. What does a relaxing night in look like for them?

A relaxing night in for Mari and Hobie is just cuddles in bed or on the couch in one of their dimensions. Maybe listening to some music in the background while they held each other and clung onto each other, maybe watching some movies together? Or just....the comfortable silence and them just talking about each other's day if they had to do missions for the Spider Society seperately or after they had to do patrols in their respective dimensions.

Being Spider Punk and Ladybird respectively is hard and tiring and emotionally taxing sometimes...its just nice to be there for each other some nights.

30. Free space! Say something about this ship that you want to say!

AAAAAHHHH

Hobie was the first person to help Mari feel really comfortable and welcomed in the Spider Society where they first met, he stumbled into the establishment not long before she was recruited.

Mari immediately had a bad reaction to the Spiders when they immediately recognize them as an MJ variant and it made her spiral into a bad case of self identity issues because who even was MJ? No one ever calls her that and why are these Spider people crowding around her and calling them that? She isn't just some version of another person, she's their own person right???

It was really bad...

But Hobie was there, the first person to listen when he does accidentally call them MJ, he was the first to apologize for it when she explains why it hurts....and the first to offer that they restart their introductions, the first to call them by their real name, the first to give them a unique nickname just for them and because of how safe she feels, he was also the first person to see her face that day.
