*** NEW **** zodiac and birthday flower hand sewn embroidery by Maureen. According to the language of flowers, introduced to England in the early 18th century by Mary Wortley Montague, flowers had meanings. Each month has a symbolic flower whose characteristics may be "inherited" by anyone born in that month. Later authors have inspired by this tradition to create lists that associate a birthday flower . March birth flower is the daffodil meaning unequalled love. The daffodil symbolizes new beginnings because they are the first spring flowers to bloom right after the winter frost. The Latin name for daffodil is Narcissus, the Greek mythological character who loved himself too much. His arrogance ultimately led him to his death when he fell into the river and drowned in order to stare more closely at his own reflection. For this, daffodils can also be known as symbols of vanity. There are different cultures around the world in which the March flower holds deep meanings. In China, daffodils symbolize good luck and prosperity because they bloom around the time of the Chinese New Year. Nearer to home, the daffodil is also the national flower of Wales and represents faithfulness due to its ability to rebloom year after year at the same time. https://www.barnowlbothy.com/Store/#!/Birthday-Flower-and-Zodiac-Sewn-Cards/p/292520001 #daffodils #daffodil #flowerofwales #marchbirthflower #pisces https://www.instagram.com/p/CLDADwuLJDg/?igshid=1ek4x1xc75797

March birth flower
March brings spring and the birth flower aptly is the Daffodil. The meaning of this flower embodies all of what spring holds rebirth and rejuvenation. With chinese new year just passed the Daffodil is seen as a sign of good luck because they bloom around that time every year. I think we can all agree they bring much needed cheer after the cold dark days of winter.
