Alex Rossi is certainly not the only driver to have competed in F1 and another series concurrently, but his is one of the more recent and interesting cases of this occurring. - Rossi replaced Roberto Mehri at Marussia, for the 2015 Singapore GP in order to make his debut. In doing so, he became the first American driver to race in F1 since Scott Speed in 2007. - "Alexander will race in Singapore, Japan, the US, Mexico and Brazil, but he will not take part in the Russian and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix. Roberto Merhi will join Fabio Leimer as an Official Reserve Driver but he will drive in Sochi and at Yas Marina," was an extract from Marussia's official announcement on the subject. - Meanwhile, Rossi was competing in GP2 Series for Racing Engineering and enjoying some success in the process. By the time it was announced that Rossi was stepping up to Marussia, he'd won 2 races and was 2nd overall in GP2. - In F1, Rossi performed far better than many expected him to. He generally appeared to be faster than his team-mate, Will Stevens, with Rossi's best result being a very strong 12th place in his home race, at Austin. - Back in GP2, Rossi managed to contest every race thanks to Mehri replacing him at Marussia on the occasions where the F1 and GP2 races clashed. Back in 2010, three new teams entered F1; Lotus, Virgin and HRT. All three, quite frankly, produced terrible cars that were nowhere near running at any kind of respectable pace. No points were scored by any of the new teams, that season. - Whilst all the new teams may have put out some poor performances on the track, at least their cars didn't look ugly whilst they were at it. In the view of @fastf1, both Lotus and Virgin did a great job in designing the livery. - HRT? Not so much. But anyway... which of the two backmarkers had a better look?
