I haven't really been feeling good about my character-centric art lately, so I switched gears to something else I've had an interest in for a while: fandom fashion design. I...was gonna say it was simpler than what I usually draw, and to an extent it is (or else I wouldn't have switched gears), but I guess it's more accurate to say it's differently complicated than illustration. My experience here is really more as a consumer of clothes rather than as someone involved in garment construction, so I don't know how well any of these designs would actually work even if I did take the time to include additional visual explanations of some of the details (frex, the components for Asbel's sleeve buckles, or the fact that embroidery and possibly appliqué would be involved on probably all of these designs one way or another). Not to mention that this would probably cost quite a bit to produce (and thus to purchase if they ever got made and put up for sale). So this was really just a thought exercise, and a probably unnecessarily advanced introduction into thinking more about merchmaking in general.

(The actual takeaway from this is that I'm never going to see any of my main fandoms get Her Universe collections or anything equivalent to those, and that's good for my wallet but bad for my soul.)
