Mestor of Troy, a bastard son of King Priam. In canon he’s praised by his father for his fighting, slaughtered by Achilles and somehow a slave of Neoptolemus who wears his Phrygian clothes to trick someone. 

So to make sense of this in my mind. Mestor was taken captive by Achilles sometime in the middle of the war (Achilles was hoping for a great bounty) meanwhile the trojans last saw him in heavy battle with Achilles which ended with them both vanishing into the river. 

No bounty comes and Achilles eventually takes him on as a slave because his family have clearly stopped caring about him. This means Neoptolemus inherits Mestor when he arrives at the camp. 

Mestor has seen some shit.
